Updating modem after many hours

So my kin two has been in the "updating modem do not remove the battery" screen for a day now and doesnt seem to be doing anything. I took out the battery, tryed the sync and nothing has worked. I took it to the store and they said there was nothing they could do and only option is to get a new phone.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I think is **bleep** to have to pay for a new phone since we dont have insurance and they sold a defective piece of C%$p phone.

I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for 11+ years. My monthly payments are usually in the $275 range which includes usage for phones and 2 tablets for my family. That's a lot of $ each year!
I am self employed. My biz slows considerably in the winter-- income is slashed. When I realized I couldn't keep the account up this winter-- with an increase in excessive travel costs for my business due to a new long commute for work, and business being down considerably during winter months-- I called in and requested Verizon to suspend service without billing until I can pay my bill in full. They said sure. We worked together to find a workable payment arrangement, which I had to modify a couple of times, but all in all it worked. Thank you Verizon! But then, I went online to pay the amount agreed to. Several days later, I realized Verizon program apparently has a glitch-- it took the full amount due ($563) rather than the agreed amount ($63 then, with agreement to further pay $250 end of April, $250 end of May). I called immediately. Verizon refused to credit back. My bank researched the situation and resolved in my favor :-) Shame on Verizon. You had an opportunity to honor your loyal customer and you failed.
Worse, this created a snowball effect of further charges. Shame on Verizon. Because the account was considered "paid in full", it automatically turned my account back on. When I realized this, I called in and said TURN THEM BACK OFF WITHOUT BILLING!!! They turned them off. Good job Verizon!
I called again, to be absolutely certain the account was turned off 'without billing'. I was assured they were. I had also asked to ensure there would be no disconnect/reconnect fees. I was assured. Good job Verizon! (I thought...)
Just got my bill. It should show $563 (because when I was credited back, it was the entire amount; instead of minus the intended amount of $63).
The bill shows $851.24. Shame on Verizon!!!!
I have spent many hours on the phone with Verizon. I have explained dozens of times, to dozens of representatives. I have been transferred over and over, disconnected over and over. Spoken with representatives, who transferred to supervisors, who eventually one transferred to her manager. The manager stated she has zero power over her supervisors- that if the supervisor wont credit $, that her hands are tied. I have made 6 calls to Verizon since 7:30 this morning, which means I was disconnected 4 times just today. There were 7 calls yesterday, I believe all of those were disconnected as well. I was not yelling or abusive to the staff-- the disconnects occurred during lengthy holds during transfers.
FINALLY, I was connected to JUST A REP who actually took care of me!!!! Out of the $280, I still have $45 left in incorrect charges. I was so relieved to finally get so much removed that I accepted gratefully. I believe the other $45 should also be removed, but I need to rest. Verizon, you really need to give your representatives more power, and more understanding of people-- I have paid thousands of dollars to your company over 11 years. Is it really better business sense to anger a customer of 11 years at approx. $275 per month than to continue a positive relationship with them and give them back what they believe is theirs-- $280 of incorrect charging??? Is $280 'once' more important than $275 'monthly'? You need to look at the big picture. KUDOS to Andre (removed). That representative rocks and deserves a raise for saving your company a $275 monthly customer!
To all the rest of your staff-- including and especially to 'Acacia' (removed)-- get a new job-- you serve little purpose to your customers, other than angering us further. Acacia told me that her manager (Marissa) does not deal with customers... but that as Operations Manager, "Marissa" serves other purposes. Telling your customers that they are at the end of the line speaking with you (Acacia's words) is the WRONG thing to say. If YOU cannot help them because "your hands are tied", get us to someone who can. As you can see, I do not give up. But many do, and perhaps that is why your staff say these things, to get us to stop fighting for what we believe is right.
If you are a Verizon customer-- do not give up-- stand up and fight for what you believe in. It is YOUR money-- spend it wisely. Dont accept yield signs disguised as stop signs. Yield for the moment, and get back on the road. YOU are your best advocate--- you can always count on YOU.

The charges occurred when the account was automatically re-activated due to the over-riding of my payment amount online. I had a pmt arrangement to pay $63 that week, but the system over-rode and took out the entire balance due. About gave me a heart attack. When the account was fully paid, its an automatic process to re-activate the account. I have no idea my phones were back on until my daughter said a text and phone call came through. I called Verizon to ask what happened, and asked that they shut them back off for me. But that process accumulated more charges of $15 per line to reactivate and then again to suspend services again. Then they charged an NSF fee for my bank taking back the funds that their system overrode from $63 to $563. If it had withdrawn the amount I had inputted, there would be no funds to pull back. The charges were ridiculous... fee after fee after fee resulted from the over-riding glitch in the system. I dont remember all of the fees, but they added up FAST! All were a result of paying the account online, with them over-riding the payment amount.

You don't say which version of the database you have - this the 9i docs, but the 817 docs are also on OTN. Besides, I don't think DBMS_JOB has changed much.

ICloud Mail file is not updating after many hours, many new attempts

I installed Lion OS on my MacBook Pro (2010) and moved from mobileme to iCloud. When I open my Mail program, it has said it needs to update my Mail files (of course), and I told it to do so. After letting it sit there literally for 8 hours, power supply plugged in, the bar showing progress of the file update goes only to the 25% finished mark and then just sits there! I have cancelled that and started over several times and left it updating for 3 hours or more, several more times.
I realize that my file is big, but if it were too big or choking and freezing, it would show "Not Responding" if I tell it to Force Quit. So far this mail file update process has NOT made Mail show as "not responding" upon Force Quit.
I have set my power supply Energy Saver settings in System Preferences to "never" shut down (only for this time period as I migrate to iHell) and I've told it not to shut down the hard disk nor to sleep.
The Progress/Status bar just keeps humming along as if it is working on the mail file update....but never moves past about 25% complete.
Help!!!

Then I'm disallowed access to anything that requires ADOBE update and a red typed message appears again saying I need to update ADOBE. Why won't this work ? I am a senior citizen and am not a computer savvy user. Need help with this ongoing problem.

IDVD 4.0.1 quits burning during stage 4, after many hours

Here's the problem:
I make a movie in iMovie and go to burn it in iDVD. Then, in stage 4, the burn process freezes and then quits. The total process takes about 7-10 hours. My home movie running time is only 1 hour and 18 minutes. Any known compatibility problems with my computer specs? Here they are:
iDVD 4.0.1
iMovie 4.0.1
OS 10.4.8
eMac 1GHz Power PC G4
768 MB SDRAM
QuickTime Player 7.1.3
eMac Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Okay, I'm still not able to burn a DVD from iDVD.
I freed up my hard drive to up to 40 Gigs of free space, but still received the same message: "The application iDVD quit unexpectedly. Mac OSX and other applications are not affected."
Please review my specs again and see if you all see any incompatibilities.

The only other information I know of (regarding this problem) is that I used to burn DVDs fine when I had Panther (10.3.x) and the older versions of QuickTime. However, in recent months, I have upgraded to OS 10.4.8 and QuickTIme 7.1.3 -- and maybe that's where things got off track. In fact, I'm willing to bet that this is where things got off track, because I can no longer burn DVDs from iDVD, and these are the only changes I've made to my computer.
Thanks for any input or advice you may have! Wonder if upgrading iLife is the only solution???

ICloud is still restoring the backup on my iphone6 after many hours

After I got home from picking up my new iPhone 6, I restored my settings, etc from my most recent backup. This morning I woke up and iCloud still had a message saying "this iPhone is currently being restored and will automatically back up when it is done." So then I erased all of the content and settings and set up my phone again, with it restoring from that same back up. It is still restoring and I don't know what else it is trying to restore! All of my settings, pictures, and apps seem to be there. Anyone else having this problem?

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS ARE THESE:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears then let go.
Backup, reset, restore on icloud or iTunes or restore as new.
Place the phone into recovery mode by doing this
If this fails to fix the problem make an appointment and visit and Apple store or an authorised service provider

SetInterval breaks down after many hours

I'm using setInterval to reset a flash based museum kiosk. a
setinterval function is called whenever someone proceeds past the
main menu. Every time a button is clicked - the setinterval
function continues but the counter in the function is reset. After
three minutes of inactivity the swf will reset and go to the main
menu and the interval is cleared.
This seemed to work fine for a while . It has been one and
half months and they do not reboot the computer. the reset function
now resets after twenty seconds .

setInterval can stack on itself if you call it twice, it
doesn't replace itself if you create another, even with the same
name. So you can either use a different loop, like kglad suggests,
or you can go a little overkill and force yourself to clearInterval
everytime you call another. Also, use setTimeout when you can get
away with it (its undocumented in AS2, but works just like
setInterval, only it calls itself once instead of constantly).
I currently alternate between those on my long-running app,
and it seems to handle itself well. The only problem I run into
with a monthlong app is when the cache gets full, it refuses to
load in simple things from its own library. Frustrating :(

Hi, I recently downloaded a trial run of the Adobe After Effects software on my 2012 Mac Mini. After the download was complete, and I tried to launch the program, I got a display message that said this:
So I checked on the creative cloud, and it said that I had an update for the software. So, I proceeded to install the software update however, after many attempts, it shows this message every time I try to update.
I honestly do not know what to do at this point, and it is very frustrating that I can not even use the trial version of this software.

Since updating itunes to 10.1.x downloads went from minutes to many hours

I have a business class internet service which provides 25 mbps down and over 10 mbps up.
Before updating to itunes 10.4.x, an HD tv episode would download in a few minutes, always less than 10 minutes.
Since updating
1) itunes became unstable and crashed regularly
2) it refused to play ANY HD video.
3) downloads from the istore went from a few minutes per episode to many hours
I did all the normal fixes
itunes repair
itunes deinstall and reinstall
itunes and quicktime deinstall and reinstall
rebuilt itunes library
rebooted numerous times
rebooted cable modem
checked speed and verified minimum speed out of several tests was 12mbps
observed download performance in itunes where download started at 2-3 mpbs but rapidly dropped off to 50 - 100 kbps
monitored network performance and observed that most of the time the itunes client is waiting for inputs from itunes store server.
Generated a trouble ticket and have been through 3 levels of "go try this" with no improvement. At the stage where maybe I might get access to an actual support tech.
I am coming to the conclusion that this is a problem at the source where the server servicing the download is either very busy or slow which is creating a long wait period between packets. Basically my itunes client is sitting and waiting on the store for 9 hours to perform what used to be a 15 minute download.
Is anyone else seeing this problem? Does anyone have a recommended fix?

You have to connect the iPad to your computer to update.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Finally got through to tech support and found someone who seemed to know what was going on, he walked me through and using appleid.applesupport got me to a point where i could get a new password for the apple id that kept showing up.
