Updating Territory_id in RA_CUSTOMER_TRX_ALL table( R12.1.1) by Using API

Hi Gurus,
I am not able to find the API for updating the Territory_id of RA_CUSTOMER_TRX_ALL table( R12.1.1).
If anybody have know about this API Please help me out.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

We have used interface tables just to have better control and reprocessing abilities. You may need to be little careful about the TCA tables.

The same code to insert / update the exact same table in local instance works fine.No any binding problem. So i am pretty sure all ? mark in SQL are set with some value before sending to Oracle.
Someone please advise what is possible problem. Db link is not set correctly? or we can not update remote table by dblink.
By the way i can do insert / update from TOAD to the remote table through DBLINK. Problem happens only in Java code.

dblink links from one database instance to another.
So it is certainly a source of possible problems when it works on one database and not another.
You should start by looking at the dblink and it possible testing it in the database not via java.
Note as well that that error suggests that it is coming from the Oracle database. I believe if you had a bind parameter problem in your java code that the error would come from the driver. But that is a guess on my part.

If you want to get the prodh value from t179t, then write a sleect on t179t and then update.

How to update fields in multiple tables ?

But "a.changed" is not a field in GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER_CHG. what i am doing in this procedure is i am collecting bulck data and validating field by field from GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER_CHG with GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER table as their structure is same.. if v_name is not same as v_name_chg then i am setting changed flag to "Y" changed is "changed dbms_sql.varchar2_table" and updating GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER in bluck where changed flag ='Y'...

Is it possible to update attributes in all tables in a multi entity view

Hi I have a view based on 4 entities, all of which are a 3 of which are 1 to many relationship with the 4th. The 3 additional entities have 2 or 3 attributes, Id, name, and one entity has a foreign key relating to a different table which I do not care about. The IDs are all updatable in the entity, and none of them are generated from a sequence but are inserted manually, except for the 4th (Master?) which is generated from a sequence.
I create the view and all the entities are updatable, but in the view when I go to attributes from the other tables, it says updatable never and is grayed out so I cannot change it, even though in the entities tab, it is updatable always.
So I was wondering if this was possible to do???

I do not understand really, if it is 2 different tables, it is 2 different primary keys. Why would this even happen? What does it matter if EmployeeID and DepartmentID is both 1??? It just seems that there has to be a simpler way to do this but ok.

Also it is not a jsf page, I create a single jspx page and divided it using the panel splitter so on one side we have an adf table for updating the Objekti database table, and on the other side I have an adf form for updating the Positions table (and later on other tables, I hope to have many forms there)

Synchronizing Updates on a Staging Table

Please help me out with the resolving the following issue:
A load script is running for moving records from a data file to a staging table.
After this script completes, there is a code to update two fields of the staging table.
To do this the shell script runs a script (generate_ranges.sql). It takes a parameter of 5000000. It creates ranges based on this passed in number upto the total number of rows in the staging table. So say the staging table has 65,000,000 rows.
This script will create a file that looks like the following (when 5000000 is passed in):

The script goes on to read the data file for each row and it calls a shell script and passes in each range. So in this case there are 13 ranges. What is happening is there are 13 seperate updates on the staging table happening in the background.
The first update rows 1 - 5000000, the second rows 5000001 - 10000000 etc.
So there are 13 updates happenng behind the scenes.
The problem is that there is no way for the script to know that all updates are completed successfully before proceeding automatically. Right now I manually check to see that that all updates completed and then I restart the script at the next step. However we want to code to ensure that all the updates are done automatically and then move on in the script. So we need a way to count the number of candidate updates ( right now 13 but could be 14 or more in future) and know that all "x" updates completed, it may be the case that update (1-5000000) is taking 30 mins and the next update ( 5000001 - 10000000) is taking 35 mins, all updates iare running parallely, and only when after the 13 parallel updates are complete, the script can proceed with subsequent steps.
So please help me out with fixing this problem programmatically.

Are you really sure you want to update 65 million rows ?
Alternative: create table as select <columns with 2 columns updated> from staging table;
While using this approach, you probably don't need to split the update.

From performance view, this solution should be much faster than iterating lt_csv directly and updating every single database record

Can xsu not be used to update more than one table at a time.

I would like to update two or more tables using the same XML package. However when I use XML that contains tags using column names from both tables I get an error that the second table's columns names can not be found in the first table even if I use setUpdateColumnList and build an array that contains only columns from the first table.
Xsu does not do me a lot of good if only one table at a time can be updated.

Assuming you are using Oracle 8i you may want to bone up on 'Object Views' and 'instead of' triggers. This is the functionality that is commonly used to perform multiple table updates from a single data source such as XML.
An object view can be based on a query such as 'select a.col1, a.col2, b.col1, b.col2 from a, b where a.key1 = b.key1'.
The object view is then used by the XSU to perform the XML query/update rather than using tables a and b.
You would then write an 'instead of' trigger on the object view. The trigger would update the appropriate table (a or b) based on the columns provided in the update list.
Steve's book 'Building Oracle XML Applications' in Chapter 12 explains how to do it and has sample code that demonstrates the process.
The book is available everywhere and you can download the sample code from the book at o'reilly's web site.

Updating values in database table through Transaction

Actually We have one transaction named EWAWA01. In that when we display the values from the transaction, there is a netweight field. The transaction displaying netweight values, but that value is not updated in the database table named EWA_WA_WEIGHPROC. How can i update that netweight value in the table.

decleare the data in charter type.
after pass the data charter type.

How to find out the volume of the data updated in the custom table

Hi,
I need to find out the the volume of the data inserted or updated in the the custom table(Y tables).I have tried by the sm37.the job running in to update the table but i didnot get thde amount of the data.and if get the volume of the data which being updated in the custom table is there any option to control that amount to being updated?

i have a requirement,
i have    company code , plant, fiscal year, posting period fields in the selection screen and then below that i have a table control which contains 4 fields invoice no., check number, check date and amount.
i have to enter the values and when i press SAVE button , these values have to update in a custom table which i had created.

this is actual requirement
in the CAT2.
1. Add a new column for WBS description and derive the value as per the FS
2. Retrieve project number and description and update in the column specified
3. When a service order is selected it should do the same for 2.
4. Finally repeat for the worklist view (which is the section above)
   here i am able to display values at data entry area
for service order and network but not worklist area ?
    updation is not coming, can u plz go throw it..

UPDATE COLS OF ONE TABLE FROM VALUES OF CERTAIN COLU OF ANOTHER TABLE

I have two tables table1               table1
(col1,                (col1,
          col2,                col2,
          col3,                col3,
          col4,                col4,
          timeperiod)                timeperiod)
both have same column names. table1 has data for certain timeperiod. table2 also has the data for the same timeperiod. table2 has the correct data for col1, col2. I want to update the columns (col1, col2) in table1 with data from columns (col1, col2) in table2
and leave the col3, col4 in table1 untouched (no change). Each time I might have to update different columns. some tables have more than 20 columns. This is like, I need to update whatever field I want.
How do I do this with a script or block declaring variables. How do I control the update for certain columns. This is not a one time thing which I will be doing. I have to do this for several tables whenever the data is not right.

By this way u can update any no. of columns...I hope this will help you...
