Updating user details programmatically

Portal version 3.0.9.8.1
We are successfully creating users programmatically using the
APIs:
PORTAL30_SSO.WWSSO_API_USER_ADMIN.CREATE_USER and
PORTAL30.WWSEC_API.ADD_PORTAL_USER
We are now trying to update user details programmatically using
PORTAL30.WWSEC_API.MODIFY_PORTAL_USER but noticed that this only
updates the portal30 user details - not portal30_sso.
Is there an equivalent API for updating the portal30_sso user?

It's not possible to redirect this form upon submission to another page. However what you can do here is place a redirect on the 'Update Details Form Confirmation Page' System Page as a workaround. You can access this System Page via Site Manager > System Pages > Update Details Form Confirmation Page.

How to use Powershell to update user details in Active Directory?

Hi,
I received an updated contact list from HR of about 1500 names, and I want to update (make corrections and add missing data) ADUC quickly without having to do each user manually. How would I go about that using power-shell?
The fields that need updating are:
Under the General tab -> Description, Telephone number
Everything under the Address tab
Under the Telephone tab - > Mobile
Under the Organization tab -> Job Title, Department, Company, Manager
The server we're using is Windows Server 2008 R2.

Update Customer User Details Form

I'm pretty new to BC so hope someone can help me out with this.
I'm wanting to create a Secure Login page that allows my customers to login and update their Account details that they have provided with a (Custom Registration form), due to some customer fields
My problem is that the Secure Zone is setup fine, however under Site Modules --> SecureZones --> Update User Details form does not have the fields which I need it to update from the Customer Registration Form.
What I've done is below:
1. Setup a secure login page
2. Upon login it is redirected to the Update Details page
3. Within the Update Details page, I have inserted the module "Update User Details form"
However I'm not sure how to customize the form in order for it to update/edit information retrieved from other forms.

"User Details" don't get updated

we have strange phenomenon that after editing user details like contact information etc. the User Details page in collaboration is not showing anything of the new data. Even an inkremental Index-Update has no effect on this - whereas in UME the new data is shown properly!

Hi,
You need to check first that the "Room Content Location" of the room.You need to modify the details of the user on the same node mentioned in "Room Content Location".If you modify the details in some other node it won't get reflected in the team room's contact information.
For eg:- If the "Room Content Location" for a particular team room is UK Portal node then we need to modify the user details from that node only.If we try to modify them from any other node the change won't get reflected.

When the request is created, based on the Manager Login, the other user's attributes are set according to the Manager's Attributes. So when the manager goes to approve the request, most of the user information are already set. To update the User Details in the request, I can call the updateRegistrationUserDetails of Request API.
Problem: I can not update the fields other than those defined in the FormMetadata.Xml. So I have to add the fields and set them as optional but I don't want to show non required fields to the end-user. I wish to have those attributes as not visible in the self-request form. Then I can update the information using the API.
Question: How to add fields to the User Details of the request and not show them in the self-request form?

As I've said, I could not update the request fields that were not declared in the FormMetadata.xml. You can try set them as not visible but I am not sure the visibile attribute works for the SelfRegistration form. If it is not a problem, you can show the fields and set them as optional true. In my exaple, the SelfReg form has a manager employee code field.
Create an entity adapter and assign it to the Request object, pre-insert.
1) create two variables: requestKey, requestObjecAction, managerEmpCode (in my example)
2) test if the request object action is Create Entity.
3) call the method to update the request. below is my example:

You can change details of the user via IUserMaint interface.
for example this is how you change the language of the user :

Tabular Form - How to store in a column the User details (APP_USER)

How do I, using a Tabular Form, get the USER details in the columns POSTED_BY_USER and UPDATED_BY_USER and the SYSDATE in DATE_UPDATED...
I've tried the following:
Created tabular form, all fields included. In Report Attributes > edit UPDATED_BY_USER > Display as Display as Text (saves state); Default Type: Item (application or page item); Default: APP_USER.
It's not working.

It has to be a text field column type with source like the other updatable columns. You should hide that column and create a second of display as text if you want to show the content. Once this is done then you can use the default value and just type the item name there as you did:

If your requirement is to set the check the HTS field in the material master, you can make the field as Mandatory without which the Material cant be saved
You can make this field mandatory in OMS9 transaction code with field status as 89 and the field is MARC-STAWN

Error while updating bank details through ESS

While updating banks details through ESS, " change in the payroll past not possible".
I have checked IT0003 and noticed that accounted to 31.08.2014.
I assume this might be causing the error. Could you please advice with your expertise.

When the infotype 0009 is modified, the system is regrouping data for the infotypes which are checked releavnt according to the table T582G. Retroactivity is checked via V_T582A In view V_T582A for infotype 0009 you will see, I guess, that the field 'Past entry all.' is maintained with an 'E'. This means that it is not allowed to maintain any infotype 0009 record for the payroll past. The important day for this check is the last day of the last accounted period. Retroactive change of infotype 0009 is not permitted as the bank transfer is already done. This is the reason why this infotype can not be changed retroactively. For bank records end user must not be allowed to maintain past date records and should not be allowed to change any other detail of record when payroll for that period is already run. for e.g. if current date is 26/11/2013. Then end user must not be allowed to edit other bank record effective from 25/11/2013. We should not allow end user to edit record effective from 27/11/2013 because payroll is already run for that period. If user is allowed to change then data maintained in infotype 9 and information send to payroll may be different. You can use BAdi HRXSS_PER_BEGDA,to default the next payroll period

User details are missing in Access request in GRC 10.0

Hello All,
When we are trying to create Access request in GRC 10.0 for an user it results as user details not found.
Under SPRO - Maintain data source configuration we have configured 2 HR systems HR1 and HR2.
But the User details exits in HR1 system and lies in validity also. We have tried to run the Repository Object Sync also still unable to search the details.
But we observed even after the Sync job User details are not created in table GRACUSER and GRACUSERCONN. Is this could be the problem. Why its not updating even after the Sync job many times almost 10 times.
We have also configured parameter 5023 to YES.Please advise.

Did the sequence for HR1 set to 1 or 2, I hope you are following the suggestions given by Luciana in other thread.

Problem: trying to update all detail rows on pre-commit (MASTER DETAIL FORM

I got a MASTER DETAIL form... and I need to update every detail row of this form (if the master was updated) before commiting the changes. the problem is that i cannot do that for instance in PRE-COMMIT or ON-COMMIT... it's an "illegal operation". I achieved part of it by coding KEY-COMMIT... but that did not solve the all problem. first take a look of the kind of code i want execute before commiting.
form trigger key-commit code is is somehow like this:

The problem is for instance when the users close form in the "X" button (right top, near minimize form) ... If they do that Forms ask "Do you want to save changes?" ... and with this i do not execute the update of the detail rows...
But there are other situations when this happens... for instance if EXECUTE_QUERY when i change a record...
Anyone help?

UWL Substitution - Get substitute user details

We have created a custom workflow with tasks in our ECC system.
We are maintaining the list of users/agents who participate in the workflow in a custom table.
We have integrated this workflow/tasks with UWL and published it on Portal.
We need to provide a feature for delegation or substitution when the user is on vacation. UWL provides this feature through "Manage your substitution rules".
Our requirement is:
Once delegated or substitution rule is created, we should be able to update the custom table with the new substitute user details.
Can anyone help us with this requirement?
