  • Nokia n95 8gb v15.0.015 problems?

Anyone holding Nokia n95 8gb and upgrade singtel branded firmware v15.0.015 and had chinese pack corrupted?
Was this post helpful? If so, please click on the "Kudos!" star. Thank you!!!!

    Hello All,
I had upgraded my firmware again and the chinese font pack came back.
I am not sure if I downloaded my nokia software updater from Europe (which is a wrong version) or Nokia just uploaded a latest firmware of firmware.
This is the method which I had tried and it works.
I uninstall the NSU which I had and download again from this nokia website: http://www.nokia.com.sg/A4759024
    and install.
Previously the firmware files were 105MB, but the firmware files were 111.2MB after I had downloaded the NSU from the Singapore Nokia website. I think the file size is bigger because of the Chinese fonts.
After I had upgrade, it shows :
    Before version:
    V 15.0.015
    11-12-07
    RM-320
    Nokia N95 (54.01)
    After the flash version,
    V 15.0.015
    11-12-07
    RM-320
    Nokia N95 (54.02)
So it means that you don't have to troublesomely take your phone back to the nokia care centre and queue up. Additionally you can save your time to do this at home.
    Cheers~ All the best...

I have the same problem, but resolved like this:
remove memory card ... put in your pc ... go to:
    resource/apps/
    delete all files like MobileSeearch*.*
put back memory card and Njoy
P.S. may be you can do this with Y-Browser, FExplorer or somethin' but I never try since I already fixed my problem
    I can confirm this works!!

  • New Nokia N95! Yeee ha! 4 digit postcode search......

YES: I just bought a new Nokia N95!
The *ONLY* reason why I purchased the phone was for the in built GPS - no other reason!
Turn it on: 2 minutes later I find out that you can only do a 4 digit postcode search!
(Also: damn annoying... you have to click on 50 buttons to get to the postcode search bit... that is just damn silly... poor usability... poor design on Nokia's part - is it possible to assign this to a shortcut key?)
    Damn!!!
I was happy to put up wiht having to pay £45 for 3 years navigation...
But the 4 digit postcode search annoys me.
I've read in another post on a forum that you get 7 digit search if you upgrade.
Can someone confirm if this is true?
In the post, the poster upgraded to 10.008 or something.
I've just checked my firmware... it seems to be recent: 11.00 or something like that.
So maybe upgrading my firmware won't help??
    Thanks.
    OM

Sorry Nokia but Nokia Maps and navigation just is not good enought - yet.I am running Tomtom 6 in my N95 and its a better system . Its a pain that you cant use the internal gps in the phone - perhaps nokia and tomtom route 66 etc could come to some sort of an agreement so that they could use the internal gps and save another peice of clutter on the dash and another charging lead.
Route 66 can already use the internal GPS of the Nokia N95.Message Edited by 6280 on 14-Oct-200701:06 PM

  • Death of Nokia N95

After 6 months of joyous use, with occassional disappointments as it doesn't support latest flash player, my favourite Nokia N95 suddenly mimicking "clinical death".
It doesn't respond to turning on power excepting a feeble glow which is non-functional.
    May I get any advice!

I suggest you take it to your local Nokia Service Centre and take it in for repair, 6 months is way too short for a mobile phone to last that much.

  • Nokia N95 - Software update v20.0.015 for Phone CO...

I purchased my Nokia N95 in the New York Flagship store in July. The phone hasn't really lived up to it's expectations and has been quite disappointing.
I have however been given hope with the v20.0.015 software update. I have just gone to update the phone however it is saying that the latest firmware is v12. This phone is unbranded, unlocked and purchased from your flagship store. I would like to know when the new software will be available for the phone CODE:0548763 so I can make my original investment of $812 work like it should have out of the box.

What´s the thing with my code?
Yep, the same code as mine and no update.
Have mailed Nokia about it but no answer, absolutely nothing at all from them.

  • N95 Software version 20.0.015

My Nokia software updater only says the available firmware version in 11.0.026 which is what my phone is currently at. So how can I install the new firmware version 20.0.015 as it says it was released on the 26th Nov 2007...

im on mtn here in cape town and cant seem to get v20 on my phone. Its currently on v13 and i dont really have any issues with the phone. but id like the longer battery life and the phone to react a little faster. ive taken it to a mtn shop and they told me to take it to the mtn service centre. the guys in the service centre should be waiters or something cause what they know about cell phones is dangerous. anyway they told me they'd have to send the phone to joburg to check if theres a software upgrade available but as far as they know v13 is the latest software . can anyone give me some advice on how to proceed now? im reluctant to send the phone away for two weeks cause i probably wouldnt get it back in this third world country and mine is pretty bug free. and if its gonna be exactly the same when it comes back i definitely dont wanna send it away.

  • Nokia n95-3 no version 30?

is there firmware v30 for this nokia n95-3 nam?

The Product Code and the IMEI number are located on the same label.
I'd be concerned if this is missing.
If the label is removed the warranty is in jeopardy, I'm not sure that Nokia make handsets in Koria (Korea) the N95-3 is a USA market handset as well.
Where did you get the handset from?

I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black

    Hello All,
It looks like new firmware update is available for Nokia N95 basic model .
Earlier Version of Firmware was : 30.0.015
Now the latest available Firmware was : 31.0.014
When i connected my N95 to PC using PC-Suite, it notified me about this. But when i searched the internet for change log , i found none. Is it right firmware , why Nokia didn't disclose change log, which it used to do it earlier ???
I will wait for 2 more days for official communication from Nokia....

Ok, so no one wants to install this firmware because theyre affraid they loose their freedom?
Somebody should shine a light on this FW, or nokia has
done a lot of work for nothing!

New versions fixes problems with earlier versions (and probably adds new issues that weren't in the previous one).
Main benefit is more free (available) run-time memory (RAM) for applications.

  • Nokia N95 Software update

I recently updated ny Nokia N95 software from V12.0.013 to V20.0.015. Before updating as advised i had taken backup of all my data in memory card. After updating the software I restored the back from Memory card back to my phone. Even though all my messages, photos, music files where available but my Calender entries have been not been restored.
Can somebody please help me to know whether it is possible to once again restore the Calender entries back to the Phone 'Or' Is it possible to get this from the Memory Card. I had a practise of keeping record of important daily events in my Calender for the last 2 years which is now not available.

Nokia software update tells you whether the new version V20 is available for your phone. You have to know your phone code.

  • Nokia N95 8GB Album Art and Album Folders Issue

I have been hunting for for a resolution for two issues with the N95 8GB Media Player all over the web.
    1. Adding artwork (CD Covers) to audio tracks (or albums) seems to be at best hit and miss. Most of the time it just does not work.
    2. Deleting an album delete all the tracks but deleting the album folder seems almost impossible.
Well this weekend I decided to try to solve this and I think I may have hit upon a solution.
Since so may people have the same problem I thought it worth repeating. I would stress this has not been exhaustively tested but it does work reliably so far.
I am using Nokia Music Manager 2.0. The fix is simply to convert the files to AAC rather than to M4A (which is the default). After this simple change everythig worked find for me. I can add and delete albums from Nokia Music Manager 2.0 (don't forget to refresh on the phone afterwards) AND reliably add Album Artwork.
So here is how I have been working.
    1. Set the conversion format to AAC. I have been using 'Ultra high' quality setting. Options Menu >> Setting >> Conversion Tab.
    2. Next put in a CD, select all the tracks and choose copy to my collection.
    3. While this is going on I find the artwork on the Web. A simple Google Image search with the album title and artists last name / band name seems pretty 100% to get the on the first page. Download image to My Documents / My Pictures.
    4. Once the CD Rip is complete they will all appear in My Collection. I select all the tracks in my collection for the album in question, and then right click on one of them and select Edit.
    5. I then attach the Album Artwork by clicking on the blue folder and choosing it from my, MY Pictures folder.
    6. Finally select Copy to Phone from the File Menu.
This has worked for me so far 100% and I have done 20 or so albums.
    NOTES:
To get Nokia Music Manager 2.0 I uninstalled the version of Nokia Phone Suite that came with my phone and went to
http://europe.nokia.com/A4144905I (or seach Google for "nokia phone suite"
I chose the N95 8GB downloaded and installed. At some point shortly after install Phone Suite informed me that there were updates available and Nokia Music Manager 2.0 was one of these.
I was originaly using this and suffered all the problems you guys have. After searching the web and finding no solution I decided to do some experimenting.
    Hope all this helps.
PS If you need to delete all your legacy album folders, this is the fix I found on this same site. You can do this at any time.
    1. Enable the option to be able to see Hidden Files and Folders in your Windows Explorer.
    2. Connect your n95 8gb to your computer and choose data transfer mode.
    3. Go to My COmputer >> Nokia Phone Browser >> Nokia N95 8GB >> Memory Card E:
    3. If you have selected Show Hidden Files and Folders (see 1) you should see a folder called Private.
    4. In the Private folder you need to delete the contednts of three folders
    \private\101FFC31 (mpxv1.mpd and pcv5.mpd)
    \private\101f8857\Cache
    \private\101ffca9
In all the 3 folders delete all the files Not the FOLDER
Next time you restart the music player it will rebuild the indexes without the deleted albums folders.
Hope this helps someone. It restored my sanity.

    Album Art
    Basically there are two methods
    Method 1.
You do it on the phone. Load the album art pictures to the memory card. (Must be JPEG NOT BMP)
    Load also the music files.
Open Music application in the phone. Open an album then select Options->Album art then Options-> Add, browse for the picture and select Ok.
    Repeat for each ALBUM
    Method 2.
You do it on the PC.
Get a Tag editing software like Tag&Rename, WINAMP, etc.
Edit the files Metadata to include Album Art picutres (again they should be jpeg and also they should be set as Cover Front).
Transfer the files that have Album Art using File transfer (usb mass storage) don't use MTP or PC Suite as these methods may convert the files and Album Art will be lost.
Or you can continue using your Method

  • Nokia N95 - Faulty ?

Hi Everyone I am new here...
I dont know if this post is in the right place.. but my question is
    I have a Nokia N95 which is N95 RM-159 v21.0.016
Well the problem, I have is when I switch my Nokia N95 on... The Keypad lights will show up.. after the mobile goes onto stand by the Lights will switch off and wont show up again ? (Im talking about the blue LED lights)
Any Ideas what it might be ?
    Cheers

Are you referring to the lights in the camera and volume keys? These were blue in some versions of the N95, my girlfriend's N95 Plum has blue lights behind these buttons. They normally flash as the phone goes into standby, what exactly was the problem? Are they not coming on again at all after the phone has been in standby, even when you reanimate it?
