  • Upgrading 11i Payments to R12 Payments

    Hi All,
    We are now on Oracle EBS 11i [11.5.10.2] and Database 10g [10.2.0.4] now and we are planning to upgrade to R12.
    We want to upgrade the all payment formats and templates to R12.
    We have couple of questions..
    1) How can we upgrade the reports(payments sent to Banks) to R12?
    -- I know we need to use the e-text templates to achieve that, but my questions is , we have RDF files in R12 which fetches the data for us and have different RDF files for different layouts. So will it be the same case in R12 as well.
    2) I have heard about common data extract in R12, how do we get that, what all changes needs to be done for that to have common data extract for all the Layouts(Templates).
    Can you also please share if there is any document created to achieve this requirement.
    Thanks,
    S.

  • EBS upgrade 11i to R12.1.3

    Hi Hussain,
    we are currently on 11.5.10.2 and looking for upgrade to 12.1.3 (LATEST RELEASE)
    my concern are
    - i need to shortest patch for upgrade , minimize the downtime as much as possible
    - can we upgrade directly to 12.1.3 without prior 12 releases?
    - can we upgrade technically only and keep the functional as in 11i without changes and gradually upgrading module by module?
    - please share the MOS for EBS upgrade from 11i to R12.1.3 if any.
    many thanks for your help and support
    regards
    Raj

    You will have to upgrade to 12.1.1 then upgrade to 12.1.3
    Technical upgrade only won't be sufficient and you will need to consider the functional changes.

  • Upgrade 11i - Reduce Downtime

    Hello.
    We are upgrading from 11.0.3 to 11.5.9
    The database is 8.1.7.4
    We have done one simulation and the overall time of upgrade has been 17 days.
    The server is the Sun E450: 4 processors and 2GB memory.
    Seems to us that the majories problems were the Categories 3 and 4, specifically:
    - Run AutoUpgrade (adaimgr) => ran for 20 hours
    - Upgrade Sales and Service => ran for 30 hours
    - Update Database (u2669606.drv) => ran for 95 hours !!
    The database has 350GB and we can not drop any tables for reduce the database size. It is necessary to upgrade the overall database.
    Has somebody some experience about upgrade and can give us any tips and tricks to reduce the downtime, please?
    Has somebody some experience about upgrade on Sun E6500 server with 16 processors and 16GB memory? Is possible to estimate that the 17 days will be significantly reduced on E6500?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Maintenance Wizard - Upgrading 11i database from 9206 to 10203.

    We are utilizing the maintenance wizard to help map out our plan for upgrading an 11i EBusiness Suite database from 9206 to 10203. The 10203 software was installed in a new oracle home. I have the following questions:
    1.) At what point does the maintenance wizard have you generate the appsutil directory under the new 10203 oracle home?
    2.) After "Perform Database upgrade steps" the section "Perform Post Database Upgrade Steps" requires the environment file to exist in the new ORACLE_HOME. However, it does not exist because the appsutil directory does not exist and autoconfig has not been run to lay down the directory structure. Should the environment file be copied from the old Oracle Home and manually modified at this point?

    I should add another question related to this subject:
    Could anybody explain how is MW taking care of the Database upgrade from 9206 to 10203 ? For me i see this step in MW just as a step which must be done manually. Is that correct ?
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Upgrade 11i ---------- R12 on laptop

    as i have dell studio 1545 with 4 GB ram , I can assign max 2.5 - 3 gb RAM for this vm ware workstation.
    Can i do EBS 11i installation on this and then upgrade this to R12 ?
    Is this possible and somebody have done it ?

    Can i do EBS 11i installation on this and then upgrade this to R12 ?
    Is this possible and somebody have done it ?For 11i, it would be enough but when you plan to upgrade to R12 you will find it slow and your patch workers may hang. Also when running R12 as you might notice a bad performance in the application. It is always recommended to have at least 4 GB only for Oracle E-Business Suite R12 (apart from the memory you dedicate to the OS).

    Relink of module "adprmkey" failed.
    See error messages above (also recorded in log file) for possible
    reasons for the failure. Also, please check that the Unix userid
    running adrelink has read, write, and execute permissions
    on the directory /u02/applfint/apps/apps_st/appl/ad/12.0.0/bin,
    and that there is sufficient space remaining on the disk partition
    containing your Oracle Applications installation.
    I checked and do have permissions on /u02/applfint/apps/apps_st/appl/ad/12.0.0/bin:
    drwxr-xr-x 2 applfint dba 4096 Oct 28 02:10 bin
    Browsing around the system I noticed:
    1) three broken links in /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.4.4/32:
    libgfortran.so -> ../../../../libgfortran.so.3.0.0
    libmudflapth.a -> ../../../i686-redhat-linux/4.4.4/libmudflapth.a
    libmudflap.a -> ../../../i686-redhat-linux/4.4.4/libmudflap.a
    libgomp.so -> ../../../../libgomp.so.1.0.0
    2) Following MOS note 11864081 12.1.3 Java.lang.Exception. Check this out:
    adrelink.sh force=y "ad adprmkey"
    Failed with:
    usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.4.4/32/libgcc_s.so: undefined reference to `__stack_chk_fail@GLIBC_2.4'

  • EBS upgrade from 11i to R12 using Maintenance Wizard question

    I have installed Maintenance Wizard in development envrionment. I picked module to upgrade 11i to R12. When I am defining the node it not only picked up 11i nodes but required me to configure R12 nodes. So Do I have to to create upgrade file system(for R12) and then configured R12 nodes in Define nodes? My configuration is in In configuration at this time as I did not configured R12 nodes.
    Please help me resolve this issue.

    My question is which database oracle_home we have to consider to upgrade R12? and What about another one oracle_home?
    When you run Rapid Install, provide the details of the already upgraded/installed 11.2.0.3 ORACLE_HOME.
    For 11gR1 ORACLE_HOME which is installed by Rapid Install, please see (How to upgrade Oracle E-Business Suite from 11i to 12.1.1 and keep the existing 10g Database? (Doc ID 1345020.1)).
    Thanks,
    Hussein
