Upgrade Lightswitch Project from VS 2012 to VS 2013

Menu -> Project -> Upgrade Project
How I can upgrade Project?

Hi Vadim,
Welcome to lightswitch forum.
First, you should make sure that you can open and successfully build the project in the earlier version of LightSwitch. If the project has errors, the upgrade is likely to fail.
When you try to open a project that was created in an earlier version of LightSwitch, the
Review Project and Solution Changes dialog box appears.
After you choose the OK button, the project files will be converted to the new format, and the project will appear in
Solution Explorer. A backup copy of the original project will be saved in a
Backup folder under the Solution folder. In addition, an
UpgradeLog file will be created in the Solution folder. This file contains information about the changes that were made and any further modifications that you may need to perform. See:
Upgrading Projects Created in Earlier Versions of LightSwitch
If this is lightswitch extension project, you can follow this guide to do that, see:
Upgrading LightSwitch Extension Projects to Visual Studio
2013

Angie

  • Upgrading a project from Weblogic Integration 8.1.3 to Weblogic Integration

Can anyone offer any advice to assist me in upgrading a project from Weblogic Integration 8.1.3 to Weblogic Integration 9.2.1?
Here are some nuances of the project:
    * The JNDI, JDBC, & JMS server resources are secured; access is controlled by Deployment Descriptor run-as/security-role/... tags and custom CSPs
    * The application is currently build for deployment using wlwBuild ant task (class in workshop.core.WlwBuildTask which is located in the 8.1.3 {weblogic.home}/workshop/wlw-ide.jar - so far I can't find this class/task in my 9.2.1 install)
    * The following are the application characteristics (and utilized WLI features): multiple web apps, EJBs, JMS, Page flow/netUI, web services, WLI controls (process, java, transformation), XMLBeans
    * One of the project goals is to not make any functional changes and modify as little code as necessary (the only expected justification for a modification is a) fallout out from the JVM 1.5 upgrade or b) something is no longer available in WLI 9.2)
I know there is a edocs page with a tutorial for upgrading from 8.1.4 or 8.1.5 to 9.2, but I am interested in knowing if anyone has insight on upgrading directly from 8.1.3?
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.
    Regards,
    Andy Frank

  • Move a project from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013

Hi, we are using 2 TFS servers in our company. TFS2008 and TFS2013 SP4. Now I need to migrate  one project (of 6) from TFS 2008 to TFS2013 with all the history and documents from SharePoint services. The TFS2008 is runnig on Windows Server 2008
x86 and SQL 2005 and WSS. TFS2013 is running on Windows Server 2012 R2 nad SQL2012 and SharePoint Server 2010.
I have found some discussions with this topic, most of them with backuping and restoring databases. But it was from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013 using TFSconfig.exe import. But this tool is not available in TFS 2013. Is it possible to do such task without installing
    single use TFS2010?
    Thanks, regards Martin

    Hi Martin,
    Thanks for your post.
You want only move team project source files and documents from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013 or you want move the whole team project data(source files and work items…) from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013?
If you want move whole team project data within history from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013, we suggest backup your TFS 2008, and install a new TFS 2010(or 2012) Server using the TFS 2008 backup, then
move the collection from TFS 2010 to TFS 2013 Server directly, after moved successfully, you can delete the unwanted team projects from moved collection in TFS 2013.
If you want only move the source files and document from TFS 2008 team project to TFS 2013 Server, you can create a new team project in TFS 2013 Server, then try use the
TFS Integration Tools to move source files from TFS 2008 team project to this new created TFS 2013 team project, but you need note the limitations in this tool.

  • Upgrade to R2 from SCOM 2012 SP 1 UR 4 - Final configuration failed to install

The log states “Access to the path 'EULA_EN_EVAL.RTF' is denied.”  I was able to find this file in D:\Program Files\System Center 2012\Operations Manager\SetupTemp\EN, but when viewing its contents I see it
was from the SP 1 upgrade as it starts off with “MICROSOFT EVALUATION SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS MICROSOFT SYSTEM CENTER 2012 STANDARD SERVICE PACK 1.”  Based on everything else referenced in the log file previously, it seems like it was trying to locate
this file in D:\Program Files\System Center 2012\Operations Manager\Setup.  Also, I applied the product key after installing SP1 previously, so it was not running with an evaluation license.
Running Get-SCOMManagementGroup | ft skuforlicense, version, timeofexpiration –a
    gives me:
    SkuForLicense Version     TimeOfExpiration
           Retail 7.1.10226.0 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM
The version (7.1.10226.0) is that of SCOM 2012 R2 (as I noted before, there was no rollback.)  Everything seems to be functioning fine (Console, Web Console, Reporting Services.)
Is there a way to get it to re-run only the Final Configuration steps (which will probably fail again as the EULA file does not exist where it expects it)?  I am not sure if there were supposed to be any further
configuration steps that did not get completed, so i dont know how stable SCOM is now.  Should I re-run the R2 installer?  Or is it OK as is?  The only info online about a SCOM Install where the final configuration failed to install dealt with
an error upgrading the SCOM Console, which is not relevant to my situation.  This is my test SCOM environment, running on a VM.  I could revert to the pre-upgrade snapshot and see if another upgrade attempt completes successfully, but if that does
work I am concerned that something like this may happen in my prod environment, which is not running on a VM, so has no ability to revert to a snapshot.

  • Migrate and Upgrade ReportServer database from SQLServer 2012 to SQLServer2014

    Hi,
Today I migrated one reporting service from sql server 2012 to new server which running sql server 2014.
Firstly I  back up encryption key and restored to new server, then follow the https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-AU/library/ms156421.aspx (e.g. backup, restore reportserver). In section "How to Configure the Report Server Database Connection" , I
cannot pass this step as it complains it is not a report server, please see error below:
However I can see my original reports/data srouces in below url and I can create new items like data source:

    Anyone knows what happened?
    Here are the version information:

    Thanks,
    Albert

    Hi
As Alberto’s post, it's not supported to run a Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) database on SQL Server 2012 in Server 2008 R2. Since your application requires SQL Server 2012 Express as a minimum, you can try the following method:
    1. WSUS in Server 2012 supports SQL Server 2012, if you want to upgrade WSUS database supports SQL Server 2012, you need to upgrade WSUS 3.0 SP1, operation system and so on. For more information, you can post the question about WSUS in the
Windows Server forums. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you. In addition, upgrade SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2012, as Shanky’s post, you need to make sure that your SQL Server 2005 has been applied Service Pack 4.
    2. However, if you don’t want to upgrade WSUS database from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2012, I recommend you to install a new instance of SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2.
In addition, before installing SQL Server 2012 or upgrading to SQL Server 2012, your system should meets the following prerequisites:
      • The Windows Installer service must be running.
      • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 4.0 are required.
      • Windows PowerShell 2.0 or later is required if you're upgrading the database engine.
For more information about the prerequisites for installing SQL Server 2012, please review the following link:
Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2012:

  • Moving code from TFS 2012 to TFS 2013

Hello - I am working on moving the existing code from TFS 2012 to TFS2013.
Under Team Project Selections, there is new branch created as shown in figure.
I am new to TFS, can anyone please provide me step by step procedure in moving code to this new TFS branch please ?
    MBH

    Hi MBH,
    Thanks for your reply.
The ProjectABC is a team project, and you created 3 branches in this ProjectABC team project? If yes, this ProjectABC created in which collection and in which TFS Server?
Project.Global is a new branch? Project.Global is not a new team project?
Project.Global created in which collection and in which TFS Server?
I’m confuse with your team project and branch concepts. For the TFS collection, team project and branches, please refer to below documents:

    Hi Rashid,
Before Creating the Service Application, User Profile Service should be started as Central Administration -> Manage Services on server -> Start User Profile Service.
After the serivce is started, then test again, compare the result.
Also, you can upgrade User Profile service as the following article:

Restored the database on the TFS 2013 collection DB server.

    Hi A,
    Thanks for your post.
    Your steps seems correct.
After you restored the database to TFS 2013 Server’s SQL Server, please ensure you can see that database in SQL Server.

  • Error when trying to upgrade a project to RH9

I'm attempting to upgrade a project from RH 8.0.2 to RH9. My other projects have upgraded fine but I have one particular project that is giving me the following error:
Error - node %Rel_420_NeoTool_Product_Help/rhsharedresource.apj already exists.
I have the source of the projects kept in RoboSource so after I click OK, I get the following message:
Cannot check out all the files that needed to upgrade this project.
I noticed that this file does not reside in source so I figured that RoboHelp created it so I tried to delete it but am getting the same error.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Thank you Mona for your suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't work. The rhsharedresource.apj & SearchOptions.xml files do not exist in source in either the root or the branch but I deleted them from both local projects (root and the branch) and attempted the upgrade and received the same error message.
    Answers to your questions:
    Steps I took to upgrade
I upgraded the root project first by opening the project on my local machine and when presented with the dialog that this project was created in an older version of RoboHelp, I selected the Upgrade button.
RoboHelp automatically checked the files out of source and performed the upgrade and all was well with the root.
Next I opened the branch on my local machine using RoboHelp.
When I received the message that it was created in an older version, I again selected Upgrade.
It churned for a short time and the bottom of the RoboHelp window says, "Adding Files(s) to Version Control Project" then I get the error message that rhshaerdresoruce.apj already exists.
When I click OK on the error dialog, I get another error dialog that says "Cannot checkout all teh fiels that needed to upgrade this project"
    Checking out of source
Based on your questions regarding starting from source I tried the following experiment which also unfortunately didn't work:
I checked the entire branch project out of RoboSource before attempting to upgrade.
Deleted the rhsharedresource.apj and SearchOptions.xml file from the local version.
Opened it in RoboHelp and selected to Upgrade when presented with the dialog that the project was created in an older version of RoboHelp.
I received the same error messages.
    Branch Properties
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by Branch Properties but here is a screen capture of the Settings tab. On the Rights tab all items are checked. There is nothing in Notes. The Local Path tab has the location of my local copy. The Links tab lists my root project $/Operations Monitor_help
    Thank you for your assistance,
    Nita

  • Upgrade from SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 to R2 Fails - Unsupported Upgrade Path

    Hi everybody,
I'm currently upgrading our SCCM infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 after have finished with the upgrade from SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 CU4, thus far everything works fine, but when I try to update any

I confirm that this one site is a secondary one that's attached to a primary site and this log is from the CAS server, I managed to tall it and delete it from that site, but still appears listed
on the CAS management console, any idea how to force the removal of a secondary site that's attached to a primary from the CAS site when it has been removed already from said primary?
    I've already tried the
Preinst /DELSITE XXX  command but it only works when the site to remove it's attached to the local site and certainly not from a CAS
Finally,  the version, build number and everything is correct, no idea what could be the problem, does anybody know a way to bypass this or force the re-evaluation of this rules, I've got
the impression that it's being cached somehow.
Any help would be highly appreciated,
    Thank you.

    Hello again everybody,
I've finally managed to fix this up, in the end I had to delete those entries manually from the database as Garry suggested. After this was done the upgrade has gone through as expected with no further ado and has finalized already, now moving on to the
    primary sites.
If anybody out there is facing the same issue, what I did was to delete those "stubborn" records executing the following statements over the CAS database:
    DELETE
    FROMServerDataWHERESiteCode='XXX'
    DELETE
    FROMSC_SiteDefinitionWHERESiteCode='XXX'
And this is pretty much about it. I'd recommend to take a proper backup first though as best practice.
Thank you all anyways for your answers and comments,
    Marcelo Estrada MCP-MCTS-MCITP-MCSA-MCSE

  • Unable to change window properties after upgrading project from X5 to RH8

    Hi,
I just upgraded an existing project from X5 to RH8.  In Windows Properties (HTML Help), if I make any changes and click OK, I receive the following message:
"For Width field please enter a value between 65 and 24."
If I do enter a value within those parameters in any of the "Width" options on the Properties page, I'm still presented with the same error message.
    How can this be corrected?
    Thanks!

    Hi there
Perhaps try creating a totally new window definition and configuring the parameters as desired.
Once in a blue moon we see that the window definition somehow becomes corrupt.
    Cheers... Rick

  • ¿Is it possible to upgrade from SCCM 2012 a domain controller in Windows Server 2008 R2 TO 2012 R2?

    Hi all.
I want to know if is it possible to upgrade a domain controller from Windows Server 2008 r2 to 2012 r2 installing from SCCM 2012.
    Thanks.
    Regards.

    Hi all.
I want to know if is it possible to upgrade a domain controller from Windows Server 2008 r2 to 2012 r2 installing from SCCM 2012.
    Thanks.
    Regards.
Anything is possible if you can script it. You could create a task sequence to do the following (with scripts):
    1. Demote 2008R2 DC to member server
    2. Remove 2008R2 member server from domain
    3. Build new 2012R2 member server and join to domain
    4. Promote 2012R2 member server to DC
You can do this. However, why would you? Just because you can doesn't mean you should. In my opinion it's more trouble and testing than it's worth. How many times would you need to do this?

  • Part of a migration project from SCCM 2007 to 2012 SP1 CU3 - Updates no longer working and reporting not correct

Been working on a migration from 2007 sp1 to 2012 sp1 cu3.  I first installed directly to sp1 but realized we had a few 8.1 clients being built so I added the cu3 mid-stream.  I moved over two small subnets and pushed out some clients.
I was able to push out updates from the 2012 server for OS realted updates to a collection.  After CU3 I tried to do the same process with Office 2013 updates and it just seems to sit there with the enforcement state showing unknown in the report.
Also I checked the version of client on the machines and they have the CU3 version but when I run a report to show client versions it does not show these machines with the latest version but version for sp1.  It's almost like my management point
is not working.  (just guessing).  I checked in the component status and everything is showing green.  I tried a wbemtest on one of the clients in the collection for the targeted updates and that is coming back with acceptable results.
Not sure where to look next.
I am not real proficient in 2012 yet and still bumping my way along.  Any help reviewing specific logs, etc. would be appreciated.  I have been searching for a solotion for several days now.

    Hi,
1.Please make sure the update deployment is show up on the Deployment tab(Assets and Compliance -> Overview -> Devices -> the specific client properties)
2.Check PolicyAgent.log on the client to see whether the specific client have received the deployment policy. If not, try to run the Actions about software updates on the Configuration Manager Properties from the client.
    3.Examine UpdatesDeployment.log, UpdatesHandler.log. UpdatesStore.log on the client.
    Best Regards,
    Joyce Li
