Upgraded Sawtooth sluggish in some cases

I completed my upgrades on my sawtooth. It's fast in 90% of what I do with it. When I use Java-based apps or develop under Eclipse it's slow as heck. It's faster than before (completely unusable) but still super slow. Anyone with an upgraded sawtooth seen similar results.
My first thoughts are it's a slow JVM but also the 100MHz bus speed may be really slowing things down when it has to grab IO and memory.
Is real world performance on these after the upgrade really that great or is it just my system?
Just for kicks I benched out my system via XBench and it beats my G4 Mini by a little bit. But when I'm using the system I can tell you it's not really faster, not by a mile.

I can say that real world performance, as you have seen, is improved throughout most applications.
Responsiveness is also improved, but the CPU alone, cannot overcome the architectural limitations of the machine.
A CPU upgrade also allows the use of software that was never meant to be run on the OEM version of the machine.
In these cases, although the CPU speed does support the basic function of the application, the bus and memory are going to bottleneck the processor gains.
Benchmarks are fine for measuring a systems performance, for comparisons sake, but real world results are as varied as the software in use.
I have many different experiences with my various softwares, and though the majority are good, some applications just need a more modern machine.

So I have been using Yosemite for a few days now and I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the following issues.
1. Slow when opening things in system preferences
2. Slow to open apps that require installing (java, tunnelblick)
3. Sometimes slow to open apps
I understand that there are bound to be bugs but I just thought these issues are odd and wondering if its just machine specific?

Tunnelblick does not use Java.
It does, however, do extensive security tests while it is launching and on Yosemite those tests are "deeper", so it is probably those tests which are taking time.

You need not upgrade unless there is something you do that cannot be done unless you upgrade. Upgrading OS X doesn't mess up anyone's computer. Users mess up their computers.
Your model has 2 GBs of RAM which is adequate for Snow Leopard although 4 GBs would be better. Upgrading to Snow Leopard will cost $29.00. You can order from Apple's Online Store. Here's a good procedure to follow:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s).

Visual Studio 2010 Upgrade - Unable to view some reports

I converted an application that had been developed in VS2005 so that it would run in VS2010. The application contains several Crystal Reports. Now when I debug the application I can only view some of the reports. With the others I get an exception with the message "Unable to find the report in the manifest resources. Please build the project and try again."
The ones that work and the ones that don't all have the Build Action set to Embedded Resource. I have tried removing a report from the project and then adding it back, but that made no difference. A new report displayed fine.
Does anyone have any ideas about what could cause some of the reports to throw this exception?

As you can see, I have described the exception that occurs when I try to view some, but not all, or the reports while debugging. I have also tried deleting a report and adding it back in but it made no difference.

If you right click on the image on the page in the context menu select photo box alignment and then select one of scale to fit {centered, Left-aligned, Right-aligned}

I have three home tabs and on some occasions if I open one of them and start to browse it I can't return to the top page. It doesn't always happen and it can happen on any of them. It made using apps impossible and the only way to correct the situation is to hit the home key and close the incorrect tabs

It's also possible your session history file is not updating correctly, because you should not be thrown back to an earlier state in a tab.
By default, Firefox updates the sessionstore.js file every 15 seconds with any changes. But occasionally Firefox may stop updating the file or may find that the file is locked and start creating a different sessionstore file (which is never restored and just sites orphaned in your profile folder).

TS4002 Having upgraded to 10.8 some emails are disappearing before I can read them.

They are present for about a second, display as notified, but are not going to junk or Trash.
The problem doesn't affect all emails and seems to be restricted to some senders.

What ype of account is this (IMAP / POP)?
Perhaps it's setup on another system (computer, mobile, etc.) and downloading there, while removing from the server. You may also have email rules moving it automatically or marking as SPAM.
Changing your password may seem drastic but will ensure your current setup is the only one with access to downloading/archival of the email, and you can then eliminate other possibilities as mentioned above.

Example-CD : "Tracy Chapman , Telling stories" is not able to import . I have more such negative cases. But in other cases it works fine and the sound is great.
The firmware at the inbuild CD/DVD DS-6E2SH is the latest version.

I don't no about virtuel drives like you mententioned. In the mean time I have rebooted the XPS and run again the iTunes diagnostics. I think the back - chance in the registry was not ready to use. Now there are another results. They are the same in case of a running CD or a not running CD. The difference in total is like before. It takes more time that iTunes reads the (bad) CD and at the there is no good sound. In both cases ( running or not running CD) iTunes diagnostics gives as a result :

Look under system preferences on the mac at what is be controlled? Look at Mail, Contacts, Calendars. How many accounts are managing contacts? Just the cloud? the cloud and gmail? or cloud, gmail, yahoo, and exchange? If you have more than one contact account, then you will have different contact lists, if John Smith shows up in more than one of your contact lists, you will have multiple entries.
Pick a contact list that is your master, (I use iCloud), only turn on contact syncing for it. The same for your phone. Spend some time on the iCloud webset (www.icloud.com) and work on your contact list there. Clean it up, remove duplicates, etc...Changes will auto sync back to all your devices. Life gets much simplier.
Just remember, if you sync different contacts lists and a large number of people appear in your different lists, then they will appear as duplicates.

Thanks Laparra!! Thanks to your original comment again-- at least now I know if I need a "work-around" I now know at-least-that-the original-fonts in PS TOUCH seem to work. No wonder the default-font worked.. but not the NEW COPPERPLATE FONT.. YaY, mystery solved.. (almost)! [i wished they'd change that default-font..and get a new default font...Lol.. It's pretty homely looking..Hee.) I normally have been using that original TRAJAN PRO FONT.. but the letter "J" almost looks like a straight line vs a rounded J.. which at least the new COPPERPLATE FONT (which is a more normal usable font--That's not boring like aerial is,etc... ]. So yeah that will be great when all those new fonts gets fixed! // It would be great too (on my PS TOUCH wishlist, if someday they could fix the TEXT BOX too.. to be able to better & easily add A LOT [more] TEXT on a graphic .. as I always have to go to the "OVER APP" [That's the name of the app in the APPLE store] on my iPad to do that... PS TOUCH only seems to let you do TITLES vs a more lengthy text on a project. If I want to make an EASY border I take the image I've been working on into the CAMERA+.Plus App.. Can't union paths in some cases

I've been doing some vector editing and have used the path panel, in some cases I simply cannot 'union' two paths when they appear to be two valid path objects.
Its a random error or I havent noticed any one action that produced this behaviour.
Is there a way to find the error or is this a bug. I have attached an example in the file below.

Keep in mind that you don't need the Path panel to ‘union’ two paths. You can find this same command under Modify > Combine Paths > Union or use the Properties panel commands (which create a more flexible, compound shape):
Developer Aaron Beall released an update to the Path panel a while back. You might benefit from installing the newer version: http://fireworks.abeall.com/extensions/panels/Path/
