Upgraded to newest version of iTunes and it will not open. Please help!

I've already tried removing Quicktime from my computer and reinstalling it and that worked once but after I shut down my computer and turned it back on iTunes would not work again and trying to repair the Quicktime program did not work.

Alright, for this, try the following:
1. Follow all steps located here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698 (be sure to grab all leftover files in Program Files and system32).
2. Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301).
3. Opens the utility, remove anything for Apple, iPod, iTunes, or Quicktime.
4. Re-download and install iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
If the same error appears after that, do steps 1-3 again, but then go to Start>Search, choose to search for 'All Files and Folders', and search for Quicktime. Delete everything that comes up (except if you see any Java files, as those don't delete properly). Also, if you come across any files that don't say 'Delete', skip them, and if you get an error when deleting a file, skip it as well. Try reinstalling again.

  • TS1717 I just installed the newest version of iTunes and it will not open, not even in safe mode. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hey guys,
My dad just got a new laptop that should be beyond capable of running iTunes. He installed it, tried to run it and it wouldn't open. I uninstalled it, re-downloaded it and tried to run it and it's a no go for me as well. Tried to run a repair and nothing. Tried to open it in safe mode and nothing. Does anyone have any ideas what might be gumming it up? His computer has a 1.5 gig Quad core, 4 Gig of Ram, is running on 64bit Windows 7 that is fully updated as of this morning and iTunes is doing jack squat Please help!

FYI the sloution which are mentioned above are copied from below link and I just pasted the Information which were required. I am sorry as IT was not aware that the website belong to any of community participants and also I didn't new that copying a required information from a different website is not allowed and we have to write everything on our own or only post the thing that we have researched and if that is the case then I think most of us is in wrong place, because my intention is not to take credit here I am just trying to contribute my time in helping those users where techies like you are not reached.

  • Itunes Icon bounces, will not open PLEASE HELP!?

I have an Imac G4 running 10.4.11. I am/was using Itunes 7.6.4. About a month ago afer downloading and installing updates from the system updater, My Itunes stopped working. When I attempt to open the app either from the dock or from the applications folder, the Icon will bounce once, sometimes two or three times, then stop, and the App will never load. I tried repairing permissions, no response. I tried removing the "com.apple.itunes.plis" file from User>Library>Preferences because i saw it in a forum for a similar problem on this site, no response. I backed up my music, deleted itunes, and reinstalled, no response. I deleted the application, then attempted to install an older version of itunes 7.5, same result.
I dont know if it matters, but i have a Shuffle model A1204, and an Iphone. I am at a loss. I have all my discs that came with the computer, and I'm up for trying anything. Im at whits end. Please help.

You may have to reinstall the OS or even upgrade to Leopard. By the way, get a new mac if you want to upgrade.

I just reinstalled iTunes, and it will not open, as it says iTunes library itl. was created from an earlier version. Any idea what this means, and how I can get itunes to open?

    Many thanks.
That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • I upgraded from PS5 to PS 6 and Bridge will not open in RAW, AMT Failure, also will let me update

I upgraded from PS5 to PS 6 and Bridge will not open in RAW, AMT Failure, also will not let me update and closes Bridge down.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and still no success. Any suggestions?

What system are you on? Did you run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool inbetween your install attempts? If not, try that to produce a "clean" install with factory defaults. Other than that there could be some specific system issues at play, but again, we'd need to actually know what system you are on...

When I open Photoshop 7.0 I get the message "the search discs are full"  and it will not open.  Help?

Is your scratch drive over 1 Terabyte? Photoshop 7 was never programmed for those sizes  and will return that type of error if you recently changed drives,
Solution is to partition that drive to less than one 1 TB or find a smaller drive.

  • I bought an mp3 download of a cd online (not in iTunes) and it will not open in itunes.

I tried everything. Importing the songs through file, add to library, which usually works. I tried double clicking it and clicking "open with itunes". I even tried dragging each song individually and dropping into itunes but nothing will work! Please help!
Also, the files are completely fine. They open in Quicktime and play just fine. They just will not open in itunes.

Have you tried going to menu > file > option+create new version > create AAC and select tracks from your disc. You track should be converted as they are added to library.
You will need to change import preference to AAC if you have have them set as mp3.

  • I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, and now I cannot open the iTunes store. It just sits there and says it's loading for hours, but does nothing.

I downloaded the most recent version of iTunes, and now the iTunes store won't open. It just sits there and says 'accessing iTunes store for hours, but does nothing.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Itunes version 7.6 and later will not open (no error message recieved)

All Itunes versions before 7.6 work fine on my computer, i am currently using 7.4 because i can not use 7.6. However, with 7.4 i can't update my ipod because it is a newer ipod. I have installed, reinstalled and tried many other things to get 7.6 to work but it will not open when i double click on it. The process runs as evidenced by the task manager but the hourglass disappears and it never opens. It is very frustrating any help please?

Often if I update iTunes, i need to reaccept the terms etc when i reopen it.
If you have other programs open, you often cant get this "terms acceptance" screen to come up.
I suggest closing all open open programs and then trying.

  • Upgraded to Yosemite It's a nightmare!!  Itunes and Safari will not open Iphoto does not exist and the list goes on!!

I've spent all day trying to fix all the problems I'm encountered after updating to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro today.  It's been a waste of a day.  Nothing I have researched has helped.  I wish I never updated.  What is ironic that most of the things that do not work or Apple i products.  I don't understand cloud but have a feeling this is the cause of most of the problems.
After update my computer prompted me to say cannot connect to Icloud Drive (What I don't understand I cloud and didn't know I had an Icloud drive).
Itunes will not open at all and it does not even try to open(I've downloaded it again to no avail).
Iphoto has a Circle slash mark through it so it's not even avaliable.
Safari will not open just like Itunes.
Icloud in preferences just keeps spinning like it's looking for Icloud drive. (Even though I don't use this I feel it is the problem)
So I have no access to my music, my photos  cannot get on the internet with Safari Browser.
I'm afraid of what else probably doesn't work but I've been so consumed with the top three I haven't got to really explore the rest of all the apps.
My main concern at the moment are my pictures and my music.
Please Help, Thank you so much!!

iPhoto is still in your Applications folder. Your iPhoto Library is still where it was.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion or Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:

Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Now, download and install the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update.

  • The iphoto and itunes will not open please help

on my Mac G5 the iphoto and itunes will not open can anyone help

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Then, hold the Option key down when trying to open iPhoto, does it ask where it's Library is? Or what exactly happens?
