Upgrading from outlook 2003 and 2007 to office 365 small business outlook

We just bought office 365 small business thinking I can easily set up outlook as we did in outlook 2007.
That is creating an account using POP3 and SMTP for every individual.
I just started watching a video of how to set up the out look in office 365 and it does not make any sense to add all 30 mail boxes set up in Network solutions and work around our domain names and all sort of unnecessary complicated step to use this on line
office.
Can we just set it up the way we did in outlook 2007 without having to deal with all parties involved?

Hi,
I suppose you used Office Customization Tool (OCT) to create the POP3 accounts for the users? With OCT it's quite easy with .prf as I can tell. However, in Office 365 we don't have OCT so that's probably why you don't know how to create the
accounts for users.
Due to the lack of related resource here, I actually suggest you post the question in Office 365 Community, where this question can be properly addressed:

If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked.  I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed.  eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money.  I sell phones for a living and this happens a lot

  • Office 365 Small Business - Public website error

    Hi,
untill today I have had a working public website on my Office 365 Small Business plan. But I decided to try to change the site theme, I chose the sunflower theme in Oslo way. From the time of this change the website stoped working completely. Whatever I
do always the error page occures. I have tried everything to fix it, but without success.
Is there any way how to reset so called "new public website" to the default situation (I can not get to any historical version of the pages so I can not use the suggested way that is desribed on the help webpage.)
    Thanx for your answer,
    Michael

    1. its hosted exchange
    2. no, they wont transfer the domain. they can let microsoft manage the dns but that just involves changing the nameservers.
    3. yes for mx and mail related records.
    4. it depends on the current configuration, but is possible. but unless there is a reason to keep them on the other server, you can set up shared mailboxes for those addresses. these are unlicensed and there is no extra cost.

I was exploring your Office website and thought to buy Office 365 Small Business Premium but was not able to understand one statement which was "Subscription to Office for up to 5 PCs/Macs and 5 Windows tablets/iPads per user"
Does the above statement mean that If I purchase 1user license of Office 365 Small Business Premium ( Cost rs 750) then I will be getting the right to install it onto 5 computers. Below is the link for your reference.

  • Any Issues Upgrading from Word 2003 to 2007?

Hello. We have the option in my department to upgrade from
Word 2003 to Word 2007. My team still has some help projects in
RoboHelp for Word. Before we decide to upgrade, I was wondering if
anyone else using RoboHelp 7 (for Word) has upgraded to Microsoft
Word 2007, and if they have encountered any issues. Thanks for any
    input.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback, everyone. Here's an
update, just fyi. I loaded Office 2007 today, and seem to be
encountering one of the issues described by David Hurlston. When I
try to create a new popup, it takes a little over one minute for
the Insert Popup window to appear. Then when I select the topic to
which I want to link and click OK, it takes another 10 seconds or
so for the link to appear.
I also received the "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a
problem and needs to close" error five times in the past hour, when
just trying to add new topics. I ran Microsoft Office Diagnostics,
and it was unable to diagnose the cause of the crash. I'm using
RoboHelp for Word 7.0, Build 7.02.001. (I have the full Adobe
Technical Communication Suite with all of the latest updates
installed, and just loaded Office 2007 today, along with all of the
    latest Windows and Office updates.)
This is the perfect time for our team to upgrade to Office
2007 since we're at the very beginning of a release, so I'm going
to continue testing to see if I can figure out why it's a bit
sluggish and why it's crashing. I just wanted to follow up on my
original post in case any of this info is helpful.
On a semi-related note... I'm usually pretty good about
finding my way around in new user interfaces, but it took me about
ten minutes to figure out how to access the Insert Popup window
(due to the new Word UI). If anyone knows of a handy reference
guide for people upgrading to RoboHelp for Word 2007, let me know.
I checked the LiveDocs for RoboHelp for Word, but the version I
found currently contains the old icons I'm used to. (I'm hoping to
find some type of quick reference that explains where to find
things that have moved and/or changed icons. I found a great
interactive tool on Microsoft's site, but it seems to be specific
to Word docs, without addressing the RoboHelp-specific options.)
Thanks again for all the input!

  • SAP Server upgrade from Windows 2003 and 2008 R2 with Oracle Database

    Hi,
We need to upgrade upgrade our Windows servers that are running our SAP systems from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2.  We are using Microsoft Clustering for HA so an inplace upgrade seems not possible.
Someone has suggested to us that we will need to export our database and reimport it to achieve this upgrade however but I cannot understand why this would be necessary (we are not changing the underlying filesystem!).
Could someone please confirm whether a database export and import is required for this OS upgrade scenario?  I have done a bit of research but nothing has jumped out and now I need an answer to this quickly.
    We are running
    - ERP 6.0 NW 7.01 (soon to be 7.02 with ABAP stack only)
    - XI(PI) Java & ABAP
    - SRM (Java & ABAP)
    - Portal (Java only)
    - PLM (Java & ABAP)
    - BW (BI 7.0) (Java and ABAP)
    Thank You
    Felicity

    Hello,
You need to go for 'Homogeneous System Copy' to achieve this, but since almost all the systems in your landscape include the Java Stack as well - so the system copy with Export/Import is to be carried out.
Even if you are not going for file system change, but it is a Windows environment and you can't put SAP up on the target Windows (windows 2008 R2) just by copying the contents and file system from source to target. You need SAPinst to create the registry and all. - On top of that you have Java stacks involved, so for java stack you can't carry out just backup/restore method to put SAP up there on target - so you need Export/import because for java stack some OS level dump is to be collected during system copy from source and it needs to be imported on target OS.
Are you clear on this one ?
Read system copy guide once and Search in OSS for the Notes to check how to upgrade from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2.
    Thanks

  • Can't install MS Office 365 (small business edition) on Windows 2008 Server R2 hosted on Amazon EC2

When I click Install, I get an error:
Roughly: "the procedure entry point k32 getprocessimagefilenamew could not be located in the DLL kernel32"
I'm trying to install the 32-bit version on a 64-bit server.
Does anyone know how to do this?

    Hi,
I'd like to confirm if the "Office 365" means Office 365 ProPlus (the latest Office).
If yes, to install the latest Office on the Windows Server 2008 R2 is supported, you can check the related information from the official article below: System
requirements for Office 2013 and Office 365 ProPlus.
    But the error you mentioned
The Procedure entry point K32 GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll
Occurred when i tried installing on Vista or any os not mentioned in the system requirements.

  • Microsoft Office 365 Small business Premium en us

This was not  a free trial, I paid the fee which was asked of me, in return I should have got a reliable program to do my work, why do I have to spend hours trying to get it to work. I downloaded and installed the above program. When I was in
word I could not get it to print, I kept getting errors like it stopped responding, so I uninstalled and put in my old Office program as I needed to do printing, I need reliable software to do my work, what went wrong with it, why is it not compatible with
the system which is Windows 7, what is happening to internet explorer, it seems to be getting slower and slower whereas Google chrome is a hundred times faster which is what I have to do to get things done, is Microsoft trying to tell me something, my
laptop is only a year old. What is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit, would have been better to install it in 32 bit?

    Hi,
In most cases, install the 32-bit version of Microsoft Office. We recommend the 32-bit version of Office, because it helps prevent compatibility issues with most other applications, especially third-party add-ins. More
information about difference between 32 bit and 64 bit, please refer to
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/support/choose-the-32-bit-or-64-bit-version-of-office-HA102840825.aspx .
The issue that you were facing seemed to be Word stopped responding when attempting to print. This kind of issue is always caused by some add-ins or the improper print driver. We can disable plugins temporarily and try to update or change the printer driver
    to see if it helps.
A similar issue is addressed here, you can follow Max’s advice to see if this helps:

Issues like Internet Explorer gets slower, it may be affected by many reasons apart from Office, we may get more specific assistance from IE forum:

  • Cant Edit Message Body (outlook 2003 and 2007), Cant select text VIA click (word), Cant Edit Advanced Options (word)

A number of my users are having similar problems across the entire network. These issues have started on 8/26/2014
This problem is not localized to a specific outlook version, the problem is happening on 2003 and 2007 alike. Also this problem is starting to move into MS-Word.
In outlook i am unable to click the message body. If i click the message body nothing happens. I cannot select any text, type, or anything in the message body. I am however able to type in the message body if i press the 'tab key' and navigate to the message
    body.
I have wiped out profiles. reset all user settings, changed datafiles etc. Nothing i do seems to affect this problem.
On microsoft word i am unable to edit a number of documents. These documents are readable, editable etc on different computers. There are not any protections on the files. The user who reported this problem is however unable to edit the text even though
others are able to. To correct this problem we have protected and unprotected the file checked permissions all with no luck.
On the same computer i am unable to change any advanced options. When i attempt to click the listing nothing happens. Its acting in the same manner as outlook is described above. However i am unable to select anything using the 'tab' key.
These problems started on a few different computers, but is beggining to spread and affect more users across the network.
This also does not seem to be a group policy issue. We have a number of different user groups on the network, and this problem is not isolated to any specific user, or group, group member etc..
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to lend some assistance to solve this matter.

    Hi,
Please first verify the activation status of your Microsoft Office.
If your Microsoft Office is activated, please try to start Outlook or Word in safe mode to check if this issue persists. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook /safe and press Enter.
Also please try to run a repair of your Office installation to check the result. See:

Please let me know the result.

  • Best practice for Smartview when upgrading from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007?

Does anyone know the best pratice for Smartview when upgrading from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007?
Current users have Microsoft Excel 2003 with Smartview 9.3.1.2.1.003.
Computers are being upgraded to Microsoft Excel 2007.
What is the best pratice for Smartview in this situation?
    1. Do nothing with Smartview and just install Excel 2007.
    2. Install Excel 2007 and then uninstall and reinstall Smartview
    3. Uninstall Smartview, Install Excel 2007, and then install Smartview
    4. Somthing else??
    Thanks!

We went with option 1 and it worked out fine. Be aware that SV processes noticeably slower in Excel 2007 than 2003. Many users were/are unhappy with the switch. We haven't tested SV v11 yet, so I'm not sure if it has improved performance with Excel 2007 or not (hopefully it does).

  • Removing Exchange 2007 from SBS 2008 after Migrating to Office 365 Mid Sized with DirSync and SSO

We have recently completed off a Migration of Exchange 2007 to Office 365 Mid Sized platform.
I now need to decomission the old SBS 2008 server as they have moved to a Windows Server 2012 R2 server setup for DC, File and print and application servers.
I need to know what are the ramifications of removing the Exchange 2007 server from the SBS 2008 server and will this remove the LegacyDN details from AD and cause any issues with internal emails between users using Outlook linked through to Office365.
I understand that after removing Exchange 2007 there will be no friendly GUI to update and maintain proxyAddress, targetAddress and LegacyDN addresses, I am comfortable doing this in ADSI edit or with a script.
Will this remove the x500 addresses relating to the on premise Exchange Orgainisation and just leave behind the x500 addresses for Exchange Labs which I assume is the x500 addresses for the Azure AD intergration for Office365.

    Hi ,

  • How to Open DOC in Office 2003 and DOCX on Office 2007 automatcally when both installed on same pc

How to Open .DOC file in Office 2003 and .DOCX on Office 2007 automatcally when both office 2003 and 2007 are installed on same pc
When tried with open with files automatically open in 2007.

Presumably you've confirmed that both copies of Word are working alongside each other, and if you right click on a document you see both options listed in the Open With menu?
If so the first thing to try is to right click on a .doc file, go to the Open With menu and then click "Choose default program". If both versions of Word are listed then simply choose Word 2003, ensuring the option to always use this choice is selected.
If you find that both options are listed as "Microsoft Word" with no version number, or only one is listed, then select the more options entry and then at the bottom of the list select to find another app on the PC. You can then navigate to the Word 2003 executable
    and select it that way.
Alternatively, search in the start menu for "associations" and you'll find an option to change the file type associated with a file extension. Open that and you'll get a list of every extension known to Windows, and within that you'll find .doc and .docx
listed, and you can change which application each is associated to.

Overview of the upgrade progress from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 including the following steps:
Installing Exchange 2010 within your organization on new hardware.
    Configuring Exchange 2010 Client Access.
