Hi All!
When uploading file (using Flex FileReference) how can we
know if the url is really accessible? What if the server is down or
the session already expires? Is there a way for flex to know this?

Have you tried to listen for ioError event on FileReference?

Thanks.Here are some of the tips I give to content managers that publish file/url items on our employee portal:
Use a file item when ... the file does not need to be updated that often (e.g. printable form, policy, user guide, instructions, etc.), the file needs to be searchable in the portal, the file needs to be accessible to a broader/different group of people than a file stored on a network file server (e.g. customers in the portal vs internal users on the network), when publishing it on the portal means it's the "official" published version of the file, when you want to utilize version control.
Use a URL item when ... you have a file on the network that needs to be updated often (e.g. a log in a spreadsheet) so you link to that file from the portal, when you want to link in the portal to a folder on the network that contains multiple documents that do not need to be linked to from the portal, when you need to provide a link from the portal to an internal or external web page, web-based form/report, or another web-based application. -
What is the URL for an uploaded file?
Hi guys, Muse has a feature: File > Add file for upload. Adobe blog describes it here. But leaves us dead when it comes to then finding the URL for uploaded files. Any clues? I'm trying to add an image URL to meta data so my blog post is not blank when sharing on Facebook. Be great if future Muse upgrades could allow us to elect an image or video to typify a page when it comes to sharing.

I gave the image the snappy title of 819A8983. Having republished the site, I see it as an upload in the assets panel. I assume to follow your instructions I put the website address up front, but when I enter http://www.bonne-app.com/assets/8I9A8983.jpg I get the a white screen and text: /*Not found*//*Not found*/
Having floating files associated with the URL would be useful in future, but I'll certainly go ahead with a plug-in for now.

I'm sure you have in your application lib directory to jars which aren't compatible to each other.
And the problem occured between my myfaces and tomahawk jars .

Hello everyone. I am having trouble writing a utility that uses SharePoint web services to upload a file and metatag it. It keeps throwing the following error message:

Not sure why. I pass the file that I am going to upload to the subroutine and it is suppose to upload it to the appropriate library. I have burned several days on this problem and I am not sure what is going on. I would appreciate anyone that can point me in
the right direction. Below is the subroutine that I have that is causing the problem. Obviously, I have stripped the name from the example.

append
requestHeaders to the urlrequest object that you pass into
the file.upload()
method. The requestHeaders is an array of name/value pairs
that would be
included with your post. At least in theory, I believe that
shoudl work.

Powershell: How do I upload files with metadata from a manifest file?
I am using the script from this blog to try to upload files into SharePoint, using a manifest file to specify the metadata associated with each file. Right now, the script works, but is not populating
the metadata from the manifest (xml) file. When I write the $metadataManifest variable out to the console, I get the contents of my xml file, so the code is reading the file when it should. However when it gets to the line in bold ($metadataManifest.Columns.Column),
it does not go into that block...it just skips on to checkin the file. Again the $metadataManifest variable shows all the content in my xml manifest file. Here is what the script looks like...

Help with Upload file to Server Examples
I have been working with the examples for how to upload a file to the server. Though i got the example to work. there is one more thing i need to do. i need to allow the user to be able to select multiple files. In the example when you click on Upload, it opens a MS window to allow you to select a file. This example does not allow you to select more then one file though. I found another example for selecting multiple files but this one differs very much in that the person who make it "Ryan Favro" created a whole new GUI window to select multiple files. those his example works great, i dont want a special window to select files, i want the MS window to do it.
Is there a way to make the original example that uses the MS window to allow the user to select multiple files ?

You have far to much code posted and without the use of the correct code tags its almost unreadable.
You have a question about uplaoding files with Struts then get rid of all the junk in your code thats not related to uploading files.
If you have an error then post the relevant information on the error
like
org.apache.commons.beanutils.ConversionException:
Cannot assign value of type 'org.apache.struts.upload.CommonsMultipartRequestHandler$CommonsFormFile' to property 'file' of type 'java.lang.String'
org.apache.struts.action.DynaActionForm.set(DynaActionForm.java:424)If you had posted only that you would have given enough information, that error says it all you are trying to put your file into a String and its not working.
reread the tutorial/documentation provided and try again

Unable to see the uploaded file using gos object

I uploaded the file to server by using the below code. But I am unable to see the uploaded file. Please help me out hot to view the uploaded files (list the file name and view the content) (i want to upload the file by getting the url as input and by clicking the button)

I have a problem with upload file using JSF RI 1.1 + tomahawk.
I think that the problem is in the web.inf filter definition because I get these warns:

Unable to upload Files to child site collection using REST
Dear All,
I referred this article http://www.shillier.com/archive/2013/03/26/uploading-files-in-sharepoint-2013-using-csom-and-rest.aspx for uploading documents to SP Document Library and it works fine for any document library under the root site collection(
for example "http://<server name>/Shared Documents" but when i upload the same document to one of the sub site collection created using Managed Path( the site collection path is "http://<server name>/files/Case" and the library
name is "records") it fails and i get below error:
The security validation for this page is invalid. Click Back in your
Web browser, refresh the page, and try your operation again, Error Code -2130575251 Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException"
Any help suggestion to resolve this? I've almost tried everything to resolve this issue but no luck.. appreciate any help

Upload file without user intervention
I know that there's been some topics like this before but I have more trouble.
My goal is this: I file should be automaticly uploaded to my servlet and the I want the internet browser to handle the response.
Because of the restrictions that lies, I think I need to create a small client program that simulates a post request to my servlet and then somehow make IE handle the response.
I've gotten some source code for the simulation of the post request from previous posts in this forum (see below). I haven't really got it to work but that shouldn't be a big problem. The problem is, how do I get IE to handle the response?

Display uploaded file on JSP page
Hi All,
I want to display uploaded file in JSP.
Initially I am displaying File Name after saving the file & click on edit link.
i.e on JSP Page I have File Upload component & save button.With that save button I am saving my file to databse.
So when I click on edit link I am getting that file name from Databse then I am displaying it.
But now I want to display uploaded file name on JSP page before saving to databse.i.e I will have browse & Upload button.When I click on browse button I will open window from where I will select file.
This is working fine as,<x:inputFileUpload id="uploadfile" value="#{errorLotBean.file}" storage="file"></x:inputFileUpload>
But when I click on upload button that uploaded file should be displyed there only.Can anyone please tell me how to do this ?

i.e. If user click on browse & select File A then click on upload button.
(Here the File A will be displayed) with code

But what if after displaying File A if user decide to upload another file File B.
How to display that ?
with <h:outputtext value="#{benaName.file.name}" its dispalying one file only.
