Urgent case!!! Oracle DB Connect Error ORA-01033

Dear all expert,
After Re-boot the computer, The system show the following error code; Kindly provide solution for me to fixed this case..
Thank of all Expert.
The Error message reference to the following:
SQL> shutdown immediate
ORA-01109: database not open

ORACLE instance shut down.
SQL>
SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

ORA-00333: redo log read error block 90114 count 8192

No...
I am running SQLPLUS from AIX which our SAP OS using ora<sid>.  SQLPLUS from local command prompt works fine.
We are currently looking into firewall issues where the oracle listener reponds back on a random port rather than the standard port 1521 for which firewall is open.
I got hold on some ORACLE notes which talks about using SHARED SOCKET connection to solve the issue

    Hi,
From the error message it is clear that db shutdown is in process. So you have to wait some more time so that shutdown process will be completed, then you can start. If you have no time to wait then you can reboot the machine so that once server restarted you can start your database.

  • Error ORA-01033 oracle intialization or shut down in progress

    Hi ,
I am getting the error when i try to login to oracle
Error ORA-01033 oracle intialization or shut down in progress.
i waited for much time but i get the same error.can some one help.
    Thanks

442321, if a startup is in process you will need to either let it complete or cancel it in order to connect with a non sysdba session.
You cancel the startup the same way you would kill a hung shutdown by connecting as sysdba and then issueing a shutdown abort.
You should review the alert log prior to issuing an abort to see what is going on.

I can't connect to my Oracle database 10g XE from both browser and SQL*Plus.
I get this Error message each time I try: ORA-01033: Oracle initialization or shudown in progress.
I am so confused, since I worked with it successfully yesterday and tis morning, I restored my system to yesterday to no avail. I tried stopping the database from the start menu and I got the prompt that the stop was successful, I started the database from the start menu and got a prompt that the start up was successful, yet when I try to go to the database Home Page from the same start menu, Internet Explorer can't display the page and SQL*Plus returns the afore-mentioned error.
What can I do to urgently connect to this database?

    OS/Disk failure external to Oracle.
Oracle is victim; not the culprit.
After the disk throwing error is replaced, you will need to restore the DB from most recent backup.

  • Hi, i am new to oracle, SQL DEVELOPER:- ERROR:- ORA-01918

    Hi,
I am new to oracle, and i have installed Oracle database 12c enterprise edition, and oracle jdeveloper 12c for adf web application development,
I created a database and a new connection in it using sql developer, however while trying to create new user with the name db1 by right clicking on other users. by following the instructions in oracle documentation site. i get the error that new user db1 doesnt exist, and gives error:- ORA-01981. i even tried by changing the username as i thought may be it doesnt support alphanumeric name, but still i get the same error.
So please tell me how to create a new user. is there any way to get out of this ora:-01918, as i googled and it says this is a bug.
My os is win 7 x64(amd processor ).
    Thank you
    Baldwin

A new user (called a schema in Oracle) is created using the CREATE USER SQL command. You need to be signed in as the SYS schema/user or as a schema that has been granted the rights to create schemas.
12c database comes in two basic flavours. Container database (containing pluggable databases). Standard database. If connected to a container database, you cannot create standard user schemas - you need to be connected to a pluggable database.
Also, your question has no relevance to either the SQL or PL/SQL languages - the subject matter of this forum. Please repost your question to a more appropriate forum dealing with SQL-Developer issues.

  • JDBC Connection Error ORA-12514

    Hi all,
I am trying to connect to an Oracle database on my workstation. I am
    running Red Hat WS 4.x.
The odbc string I am using is this:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@//localhost:1521/danoracle
I am getting the following error:
Error getting JDBC connection using driver
    'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver' to database at
    'jdbc:oracle:thin:@//ddschwitrh4.er.xxxx.gov:1521/danoracle' for user
'satin': java.sql.SQLException: Listener refused the connection with the
    following error:
ORA-12514, TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in
    connect descriptor

It looks like the spam filter does not like the copyright line of the output in both commands.

  • Connection error ORA-12514

Ive recently installed Oracle 10g on my Windows XP and was able to connect.
When i did a shutdown immediate and tried to connect again as a sysdba i get an error:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
    descriptor
Did a few basic checks like Oracle services, listener and all seems up and running. As im studyin Oracle 10g currently, please explain me in simple language meand guide to what i should do to resolve this problem. Any help is much appreciated!

Sorry I did understand your question after I replied.
As for your first point. Output in Command Prompt
    =====================================================
    SQL> conn / as sysdba
    Connected.
    SQL> exit
Disconnected from Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    C:\Documents and Settings\Nitesh>sqlplus /nolog

Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.
    SQL> conn sys@orcl as sysdba
    Enter password:
    ERROR:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
    descriptor
    ==================================================
Also i get the same error when i connect via the web to iSQL Plus
Asfor your second point, Yes all is in Started status even after stopping the Listener and my services for 'OracleServicesORCL' Still same error as above in my command prompt and via web too.
A question for you, in my TNS file you can see my ' (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)' and in my LISTENER file 'SID_NAME = PLSExtProc'. Do these two have to match when the listener listens for a connection?
Any fix for my ongoing issue??. Thanks for your effort.
