Urgent, cluster wlcs on AIX box
Hi all,
I'm running WLCS 3.2 sp8 (WLS 5.1) on AIX 4.3.3 box.
When I start a WLCS cluster instance there is followed exception:
java.io.IOException: Un messaggio per il trasferimento dati del socket è
troppo lungo. (try translate: "message in datagram socket is too long")

It's very strange, but when I start a WLS 5.1 sp8 cluster instance it's all
OK!!
Any idea?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Deepak,
I don't think there is any agent for AIX. I remember we had the similar problem. Our customer's Web-App was on unsupported App server container.
We installed a Sun Java Web Proxy Server 4.0 and agent in front of the app server.
Regards,
Vivek

CI (ABAP+Java) & DB in one AIX box and dialog Instance on a Linux box
We trying to install SAP, CI+DB in one AIX box and dialog Instance on a Linux box. We are facing problem when trying to install Java Dialog Instance. Is it possible and recomended to install in the above manner?
Has anyone done this? please share your exepeirience.
thanks & regards,
Harsha.
ps we have read the Note 1067221 - Central Note for Heterogeneous Installation, which indicates this is possible. If you would have stated, which kind of problem you are facing, we could have seen, if the problem is related to because of heterogeneity or because of something different.
It should be possible to do that - yes

networking 2 solaris and 1 aix boxes
Hi
Can somebody please guide me as to how i can form a network between 2 solaris boxes and 1 aix box, WITHOUT having internet in my house.
what hardware/software would i need for this?
the 2 sun servers are 220R and V100
aix box is RS6000
thanks
SamHmmm, strange question.... If I correctly understood:
1) You should just buy a switch (or hub, if you find any) - in your case 4-port device will do.
2) You should configure your boxes: use the same network class (use private networking but it's of course not required), network mask (according to network class, eg. 255.255.255.0), but different addresses of machines' NIC's (eg. 192.168.1.1 for first machine, 192.168.1.2 for second and so on), you can define the gateway as the IP of each machine.
You can use the ipconfig command (see man ipconfig) to set up the needed values, in AIX I suggest to do it by the smitty tool.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7 cluster installation on AIX
Hi guys,
Does OBIEE 11.1.1.7 version support enterprise installation with scale out for AIX (6.1) platform. i read oracle documentation and it recommened software only install for AIX. having enterprise installation would reduce my hassles as i am on a tight timeline. please suggest.
appreciate your time.
thanks
vinothVinoth,
Yes you need to do software only install other wise libraries will not get installed properly it fails.
To scale out your installation using the Software Only Install type on a shared network drive and with a shared Fusion Middleware home, you must specify the same domain home for all computers in your cluster. This can be accomplished by setting the same value in the Domain Home field in the Scale BI System Details screen of the Configuration Assistant. Using the same domain home for all computers in a scaled-out system with a shared Middleware home is required to start one or more managed servers within a domain through Node Manager.

Moving WCC cluster setup from one box to another box
We want to move the existing WCC (clustered) from one box to another box (both unix). We have the cluster/ folder {which have the folders cs/, vault/, weblayout/} on shared drive mounted in source machine running on 11.1.1.6.0.
We have installed the same installation in destination box. We want to follow the below steps to move the config., data from source to destination.
1) Stop servers in source.
2) Change the db details in weblogic console destination to source db.
3) Unmount the shared/ folder in source and mount it in destination box. (The vault, weblayout, cs folders will be mapped directly in destination ucm)
The other qns we have are
1) Are the above steps are correct and will WCC run without any problems.
2) Do the domain homes needs to be in sync (because the destination box is a fresh installation)
Just to test it, I have copied the cluster/cs/ folder from source to destination and the destination content servers are working fine. (I have not copied vault/ weblayout and changing the db)
I have seen a article on cloning WCC servers
Is it Possible to Clone Webcenter Content 11g ? (Doc ID 1507480.1)
It pointed to documentation http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/core.1111/e10105/testprod.htm#ASADM11306
For target already exists, it just asked to migrate config. using CMU. Do I need to worry about domain homes or cluster/cs is enough to run WCC smoothly if they are in sync?
Thanks,
Narasa KumarHi
Domain home contains information pertaining to weblogic and it's clustering configuration. Most of the WCC related config data will be residing in Oracle_ECM1 and ucm/cs folders. if the domain data changes from source to destination then there will be difference in behavior based on what changes are done in destination domain.
Differences/ changes in intradoc.cfg and config.cfg between 2 environments will have impact.
Better is publish your directory structure and then ask for Q and changes are that response might fit-in-better to your scenario.
Ideally, have same structure and configuration on destination and then perform movement of WCC. Run a sanity to confirm working use cases and then perform any changes to configuration or other things have you planned.
Thank you! -
SAP MDM Architecture for development in AIX box
We are trying to install MDM in AIX LPAR as our development.
Is it a good idea to have database in the same LPAR as MDM server. If yes or no, Why?Thanks Shambu again for the reply. My reply in line
But according to my knowledge having Database in different LPAR with dedicated hardware resources enables the performance stability in Production environment with huge number of records in MDM. As Database jobs need to have their own bandwidth without affecting the MDM hardware resource.
-Subin-> Since LPARS pool the resources in a box, why should there be an impact in performance?
Also application server i.e. MDM server can be restarted without affecting the Database server. Still it is upto your requirement about having a separate LPAR for database.
---> How would having both servers - db and MDM in same LPAR should impact each other during restarts.
Separate LPAR database can be further used for different tools as well in future using the MCOD functionality.
--> Not sure on this. by having different LPAR should not make any difference. am i right? -
Urgent: USER exit for W2 Box 13 of Tax reporter 4.7
Hi,
I am working on tax reporter version 4.7 and while printing the W2 forms saw that the Box 13 (selection of Statutory employee or Retirment plan or third party sick pay ) is not ticked. I worked in one of the clients on ECC 6.0 last year whom had a custom user exit for this same box 13 of W2 which used to get ticked on W2 form depending on the logic in that user exit.
I suggested to this present client that an user exit needs to be written, they asked me to write functional specs for the user exit, can someone help me in writing the functional specs for this W2 form Box 13 selection of Tax reporter on 4.7. what do I need to specify and how do i need to write the functional specs reflecting the logic of this Box 13 of W2 form in tax reporter. Please help me guys, its very urgent.
I apprecite your answers.
Thank you so much

Urgent Help Required for Check Box in Table Column
Hi all,
Could any body help me to solve my problem?
First of all I have created a table whose one column is check box. The column of the tables are Name,Phone,ID,Address and a checkBox columns. In one view
the table will be found with data. I want to click on some of the rows(suppose there are 5 rows, but based on some condition I have selected the check box of 3 rows).
Next there will be a button(Supose SEND Button).
After selecting the check box I want to press that button and then a new window will come which will show two tables. one for selected rows(with the same columns name except check box) and another for Unchecked rows with the same column name(Name,Phone,ID,Address).
Could any body help me by sending the details and code?
Thanks and Regards.
SudipHi Sudip,
1) create custom controller and appropriate context structure there (dataNode(Name,Phone,ID,Address,Check))
2) create view StartView. Map data node from custom controller to node in view. Create table and bind context node attributes to appropriate table columns.
3) create view ResultView. Map data node from custom controller to node in view. Create 2 nodes (CheckedData, UncheckedData) with supply methods. Create filtering implementation in supply methods (add checked and unchecked node elements to appropriate nodes).
4) create new window with resultView as default view
4) in startView in button action handler put something like
IWDWindowInfo _windowInfo = wdComponentAPI.getComponentInfo().findInWindows("Popup");
IWDWindowManager manager = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager();
IWDWindow _window = manager.createWindow(_windowInfo, true);
_window.open();
So, just tried localy and it works.
Best regards, Maksim Rashchynski. -
Hi,
I am creating an application for a user to enter configuration data for running a test. I would like to have the user click on items on tree, and a dialog will pops up with a cluster control. Once they change settings in the cluster control and press an ok button, the dialog will close. Can this be done in labview, and if so how.
The effect I would like to have is similar like in the windows device manager, where you have items on a tree, and you double click them to display a dialog, where you change settings. After you change the settings, and close the dialog, the settings are configured.
Thank you,
-TimAs attachement the VI for testing. By doubleclicking on the items of the listbox the underlaying VI should open.
Before running you have to create a few "DialogX.vi", where X is 1,2,3,...

Dear All,
We have installed & configured Hyperion System 9.3.1 on IBM AIX 5.3 ML-6, 6 dual core CPU & 24GB RAM. Repository database is Oracle 10gR2.
We have scheduled approx 300 Interactive Reporting Jobs in Workspace which has been associated with external trigger events. Once these jobs get executed their output has been imported in the various folders on Workspace.
We are getting following errors in <HYPERION_HOME>/log/BIPLUS/ server_messages_IRJobService.log file when these jobs get executed:
<message><![CDATA[Out of Memory. Advice: Close other applications or windows and try again.]]></message>
And
In <HYPERION_HOME>/BIPLUS/logs/ 0_bijobs_stderr.txt getting bellow error:

After this Hyperion Services are getting hang. In Workspace - View Job Status – showing that Jobs are executing.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Regards,
Manmohan SharmaThe reason they run quicker the subsequent times, is because the data has already been cached in the system.
You could try the usual tricks to speed the report up:
- move items into POV
- have children and parent in the same row
- arrange dimensions in inverse outline order
- remove excessive formatting
- push report calculations back to the data source
We have found that using lots of dynamically calculated members also slows down reports, so try and limit the number of these.
Hope this helps. If not maybe give us an idea of how the report is created to see if other changes could be made. -
