Hi!
I am trying to connect netbeans to Microsoft SQL server 2005 and percistance hybernate
I create a new file "entity classes from database" to retreve tables form the database and convert them into hybernate classes.
I am using my windows account to log in into de database, the database is in the same computer in which i am running netbeas
I set up the driver for m$ sql server 2005a and
I use this jdbc:sqlserver://localhost;databaseName=VirtualShopMarket;integratedSecurity
it connects, but IT DOES NOT SHOW THE TABLES.
what am I doing wrong??
Does some knows what to do, i need this working urgently !!

well, after of hours of trying i decided to create each entity class manually, and it works.....
although i ahve other tables left, so if someone knows how to import all the entity classes automatically using ms sqlserver 2005 and netbeans, let me know

I had to uninstall both due to some reasons, now when I installed both j2ee and netbeans again, i see D:/Sun/AppServer folder empty and not able to register NetBeans 5.5.1 with application server. I tried again and again by reintalling but AppServer folder remains empty and not able to register. Any help for this issue??????????

    Hello guys...
how can i connect NetBeans 6.1 with SQL Server 2005?
there is no SQL Server in Server list when we create a new Web Project and choose Server.
I'm new to NetBeans and this is my first time of posting.
If has some errors and unwanted disturbing, pls understand me. Thanks.

The JDBC-ODBC bridge wasn't recognizing any of the primary keys I had set up in SQL Server. After lots of head banging, here's the solution I came up with:
    1. Download the appropriate driver. SQL Server 2000 requires the SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=07287B11-0502-461A-B138-2AA54BFDC03A&displaylang=en).
    SQL Server 2005 download: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C47053EB-3B64-4794-950D-81E1EC91C1BA&displaylang=en)
    3. After installing, right-click on "Libraries" in your project, and choose "Add Library...". Next, give it a name (i.e. SQLServer2000), and select "Class Libraries".
    4. On the next screen, find the JAR files (should be in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC\lib\), and add them under the "Classpath" tab. It will now be available under "Libraries" for future projects.
    5. You can now create a connection to a specific database under the "Services" tab (next to "Projects" and "Files" in the top left of the screen). Select "Microsoft Sql Server 2000 (Microsoft Driver)" and format the "Database URL" like this:
    jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver//YOURSERVER:1433;DatabaseName=YOURDATABASE
1433 is the default port, though your DBA may have changed it.
I posted a simpler version of this on the NetBeans.org FAQ page - they had the following title with no content on the answer page:
"Cannot Select Tables From MsSql 2000 Because It Says No Primary Key Next To Each Table But The Tables DO Have A Primary Key. What Do I Do?"

  • Error when opening BIDS 2005 - SQL Server 2005 - Urgent to solve

    Hi,
today I've a problem when I try to launch the BIDS 2005: an error message says that isn't possible to find a component and says to reinstall the application. I cannot any records inside the event viewer that could help me. The SQL Server 2005 build is 9.00.5069.00.
BIDS 2005 is installed on my machine that has Windows 7 64-bit. Moreover I've also SQL Server 2008 R2 and BIDS 2008 R2: I cannot open also this tool for the same error.
    Any suggests to me, please?
    Thanks

    Hi Pscorca,
According to your description, you cannot start Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) in SQL Server 2005 and 2008 with the error "isn't possible to find a component and says to reinstall the application". As per my understanding, the issue
can be caused by some SQL Server files were corrupted. It's hard to give you the root reason that cause this issue based on the limited information.
In your scenario, please drive the BIDS installation folder (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2), try to open BIDS and check if this issue persists or not. Besides, you can try to repair SQL Server
    installation using stepup.exe.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating and Using View Objects on JDev 10g against SQL Server 2005

I'm currently working on this project on Jdeveloper against a SQL Server 2005 DB (I couldn't talk this people to migrate to Oracle... :-( ), and it's the first time I work with JDev against a database other than 10g.
I had no problem making the connection, and I can see the DB in Conections->Databases, but when I create an app. module, and create entities and views and add them to the app. module to access them through the Data Controls, these don't work. I can see the view on the Data Controls, and when I drag them to my jspx page it shows the menu that let's me choose whether I want to create a table, or a selection, or a tree, but once I choose one, it does nothing.
I've search all over the internet and haven't found a solution, so I come to this forum desperate for help, seriously.
Please get in touch; if anyone knows another solution that doesn't involve not using JDev or SQL Server 2005, please let me know, because I basically need to have a few selectonechoice showing some data from a few tables.
Thanks for reading this post, and hope to get help.
    Carlos.

    Hi,
can you run the model in the ADF BC tester ? If this is possible the SQL Server doesn't seem to be the problem. Are you on JDeveloper 10.1.3.3? If not, just get this latest build

    Hi,
    You know what ?
Step by step installation is different in every company because each company has a different usage of SAP software.
It is precisly your job as a SAP sys admin, to study the problem, to solve it and to write the step by step documentation.
In my company, it took me one month and my documentation is 250 pages long.
You will not get someone else doing YOUR job instead of you.
The standard SAP documenation is perfectly enough to study your particular case...
    Good luck !

    Hi,
You have the wrong values in the tnsnames.ora entry.
    You have -
    HUAWEI_DCDB =
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=localhost)(PORT=1523))
    (CONNECT_DATA=(SID=hsagent))
    (HS=OK)
but the CONNECT_DATA information is incorrect. it should be -
    HUAWEI_DCDB =
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=localhost)(PORT=1523))
    (CONNECT_DATA=(SID=HUAWEI_DCDB))
    (HS=OK)
The sid needs to match the sid defined in the listener.ora for the gateway.
The actual tnsnames.ora entry should have spaces at the beginning of each line except the first, as they are lost in the forum entries.
Once this is fixed you may also have a problem unless you put a user and password in the create database link statement -
    create public database link HUAWEI_DCDB connect to "userid" identified by "password" using 'HUAWEI_DCDB';
One other point is that 10.2 HSODBC is now desupported and has been replaced by the 11g Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC). You should plan to install and use that instead of HSODBC to be on a fully supported product.

    Mike

  • Creating Sql Server 2005 External Data Source

Hey guys, I'm trying to connect to an SQL Server 2005 database directly from the BAM external Data Source.
I have the driver name and the connection string, login and password. I also have the driver, but BAM doesn't seem to have a "drivers" folder. So when I try to connect, I get:
    BAM-00008: Invalid Oracle driver name
    Source: "java.lang.ClasssNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver" ID: "InvalidOracleDriverName"
Has anyone done this before? Am I only allowed to connect to an Oracle Database from BAM? Thanx!

    Hi,
I use BAM with SQL Server External Data Source and works fine.
In the Architect set this parameters on conection with SQL Server (EXTERNAL DATA SOURCE):
    Driver: SQL Server
    Connection string / URL: SERVER=<host>;DATABASE=<name_db>;
<host> = ip or name of the server
<name_db> = name of the database on the SQL Server
I use BAM 10.1.3.3.0 with SQL Server 2005

  • Restoring a SQL Server 2005 DB to a SQL Server 2014 install, is there any way to prevent it from being upgraded

Does anyone know if there is a flag I can use to prevent a SQL Server 2005 database from being upgraded to SQL 2014 when it is restored to a 2014 instance?
Don't ask why, I just need to know if this is possible or if 2005/8 DB's are required to be upgraded if they are going to run on SQL 2012/2014 instances. The documentation seems to say this is so, I just want to verify that.

First: You cannot directly restore a 2005 database to
2014. MS supports migration over 3 SQL Server version steps; means you can restore 2005 to 2008/2008R2/2012, but not to 2014. You have to do a migration step between.
Olaf I was looking for this today, because I'm working with a new customer that have SQL 2005 and I have SQL 2014. And needed to restore a backup form the production server in my test server.
When I read what you write I think, oh no!! I have to install SQL 2012 in my server. But that it's not an option for me, and I say let me try to restore the DB first in 2014 and if not work install 2012.
You can restore a 2005 database to 2014 directly, and it works.
For reference the version number in the servers 2005 (9.0.4035 SP3) and 2014 (12.0.2000 RTM)
This is not related in any way to the original question that you answered (the file format will be upgraded to the new motor, that is sure).
I put this lines because in the future there will be some people searching about if possible to restore a 2005 DB to 2014, and like me will read your lines and think it's not possible and that can make a decision to buy 2012 and not 2014 to that new server they
    will migrate.

  • Can't see data in data tab - sql server 2005

    hello,
i am connected to a sql server 2005 database (with jtds driver), the connection is ok, i see the tables but i can't see data in data tab.
i have an error : incorrect syntax
    somebody can help me ?
    thank's in advance
    alex

definitely. I was going to say, make sure you have the privileges to read data.
From Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on, it is recommended that you are a member of the db_datareader - so that data in the database can be read

  • Unable to start SQL Server Browser service in Sql server 2005

we are unable to start the SQL browser service on one of our machine with below error.
I believe this to be the reason, why we could not connect to the instance with below error
I tried troubleshooting as mentioned here, by changing
value in registry from 1 to 0, but still no luck.
    SQLservices are also running.
Please help on how to resolve this!

    Hello,
You say that SQL Server Browser Service belongs to a SQL Server 2005, but based on the name of the instance is a SQL Server
    2012 instance.
Do you have any issues installing/uninstalling SQL Server 2005 or 2012? One of them 32-bit and the other 64-bit?
    Hope this helps.
