URGENT..DISPLAY IN ALV USING SALV...

im usingg salv class for alv display .....in that if any header details are repeating say for ex equipment,equipment description like that about 10 fields related to equipment...., i need to show only one in the alv(the first record of that group)..this should be done without sort function bcoz sorting cannot be used since an sorting with one key field.alreday done...kindly reply....rewards will be given

  • Upload an excel file input into an itab,display in ALV using ABAP objects

    Requirement:
    Create a selection screen which takes an excel file as input with parameters emp id, emp name, salary, mnth, ph no.
    Create a database table with the same fields.
    The program needs to have two modes. Display mode and update mode.
    Display mode only displays the file data in alv grid and update mode updates database table with similar parameters as above and also shows alv grid output.
    task is to do using Object oriented approach. This should also have the facility to modify the cell values in ALV grid and once saved then it needs to update the database accordingly.
    I have done the same functionality in a report program without using ABAP objects but finding difficulty in using object oriented approach.Please help me as i am new to abap-objects.
    Thanks in advance.......

    Hi,
    The selection screen design and all remains the same.
    Get all the detials which you need in your final internal table.
    This internal table will be used to display in the ALV grid.
    The approach remains the same as the normal programing.
    Prepare a field catalog table and then use it along with the internal table to display in the grid.
    The only change is that instead of FM you will have to make us of classes and their methods.
    Firstly you will have to create a screen.
    On this screen create a custom control object and give it some name. say for eg. CC_CONTAINER.
    This will be a container on which the ALV grid object will be placed.
    2 objects are needed to display the grid
    CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER and CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.
    In the PBO of the screen first create an instance of object CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER
    CREATE OBJECT y_lobj_cont
          EXPORTING
             container_name              = 'CC_CONTAINER'
          EXCEPTIONS
            cntl_error                  = 1

                   WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
        ENDIF.
    Then create a instance of the GRID
    IF y_lobj_grid IS INITIAL.
          CREATE OBJECT y_lobj_grid
            EXPORTING
              i_parent          = y_lobj_cont
             EXCEPTIONS
               error_cntl_create = 1
               error_cntl_init   = 2
               error_cntl_link   = 3
               error_dp_create   = 4
               OTHERS            = 5 .
          IF sy-subrc NE 0.
            MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE y_k_s NUMBER sy-msgno
                       WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
          ENDIF.
        ENDIF.
    Then call the method SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY to display the grid.
    CALL METHOD y_lobj_grid->set_table_for_first_display
          EXPORTING
            it_toolbar_excluding          = y_v_lt_exclude
          CHANGING
            it_outtab                     = y_li_tbl
            it_fieldcatalog               = y_li_fcat

            invalid_parameter_combination = 1
            program_error                 = 2
            too_many_lines                = 3
            OTHERS                        = 4.
        IF sy-subrc NE 0.

  • ALV USING FM(FIELDCATALOG_MERGE)

    What is the purpose of fm
    "REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE"
    explain briefly with sample code.

    Hi,
    Using REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE can automatically determine the fieldstructure from this source program, no need to maunally build fieldcatalog for the fields defined in the internal table.
    REPORT Z_ALV_SIMPLE_EXAMPLE_WITH_ITAB .
    *data definition
    tables:
    marav. "Table MARA and table MAKT
    * Data to be displayed in ALV
    * Using the following syntax, REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE can auto-
    * matically determine the fieldstructure from this source program
    Data:
    begin of imat occurs 100,
    matnr like marav-matnr, "Material number
    maktx like marav-maktx, "Material short text
    matkl like marav-matkl, "Material group (so you can test to make
                            " intermediate sums)
    ntgew like marav-ntgew, "Net weight, numeric field (so you can test to
                            "make sums)
    gewei like marav-gewei, "weight unit (just to be complete)
    end of imat.
    * Other data needed
    * field to store report name
    data i_repid like sy-repid.
    * field to check table length
    data i_lines like sy-tabix.
    * Data for ALV display
    TYPE-POOLS: SLIS.
    data int_fcat type SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV.
    select-options:
    s_matnr for marav-matnr matchcode object MAT1.
    start-of-selection.
    * read data into table imat
      select * from marav
      into corresponding fields of table imat
      where
      matnr in s_matnr.
    * Check if material was found
      clear i_lines.
      describe table imat lines i_lines.

    *   Using hardcoded write here for easy upload
        write: /
        'No materials found.'.
        exit.
      endif.
    end-of-selection.
    * Now, we start with ALV
    * To use ALV, we need a DDIC-structure or a thing called Fieldcatalogue.
    * The fieldcatalouge can be generated by FUNCTION
    * 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE' from an internal table from any
    * report source, including this report.
    * The only problem one might have is that the report and table names
    * need to be in capital letters. (I had it :-( )
    * Store report name
      i_repid = sy-repid.
    * Create Fieldcatalogue from internal table
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'

    *                       to display in ALV
    *    I_INCLNAME is the ABAP-source where the internal table is defined
    *               (DATA....)
    *      CT_FIELDCAT contains the Fieldcatalouge that we need later for

  • Need to display texts on to the ALV grid using SALV

    Hi evryone,
                   There is a requirement to print an ALV grid containing the row titles and their subsequent values. The display shouild look like as below
    Summary                                     ItemsA cost                                                             111111
                                                        ItemsB cost                                                              222222
                                                        ItemC cost                                                                333333
                                                        New items
                                                        ItemD cost                                                                                111111
                                                        ItemE cost                                                                                222222
                                                        ItemF cost                                                                                333333
                                                                 Total                                                                 666666        666666
    The headings pertaining to ItemA to itemB should come in a single column and their subsequent values as shown above. The total should be displayed below the corresponding block of items. Can anyone please suggest me the way we can acheive this using SALV and container concept.

    Sorry my earlier did not get displayed as expected. Please find below the format  how the ALV should get displayed.
    Summary  -
    ITEMA----
    1111
    ITEMB----
    2222
    ITEMC----
    3333
    ITEMD----
    1111
    ITEME----
    2222
    ITEMF -
    3333
    Total--6666--
    6666
    Please ignore the dots here they are just written to indicate spaces between the texts. The text summary and the texts "ItemA, B, C etc" should have 1 coulmn gap and the prices for the first item block should have 1 column block from the texts and the prices for second Item block should have a 2 coulumn block from the texts and total value should be displayed below each block.

  • Problem in alv report coumn header in the background while using salv

    Hi  all,
            now i am working on  alv report for this i have used salv i mean oops alv ,So here i am facing one issue while executing the report  in background
            the report column headers are not displaying properly as it is displaying in front end.
           In the back ground it is always displaying column header as data element field label short text. i have written a code to pick the long text
           but it is working fine if run the report in the frontend where as in the backgroiund it is always displaying short text but it is wrong.
    here i am attaching the output screen shots in front end and background.

    Hi Satish,
    I have tried this scenario with Reuse ALV grid 1st i found the same issue as u said in background job,
    then i set in field catalog as,
    wa_fcat-ddictxt = 'L'. Now its working fine. L stands for long text.
    Before...
    After...
    For LVC u can try the below fields in fieldcatlog.
    COLDDICTXT = 'L'.
    SELDDICTXT = 'L'

    I don't know how to read the code you pasted or I would have checked this myself.
    Do your fields in the internal table reference dictionary objects or elementary types? If not using dictionary types, the column names will be blank by default. If you can't change your fields to be dictionary types, you can try this to change the column names:
    I made a method inside my local class to add the names:
            call method set_colname
              EXPORTING iv_tab = alv_tab
                        iv_colid = 'xxxx'  "fieldname from the table
                        iv_stxt = text-t54
                        iv_mtxt = text-t55
                        iv_ltxt = text-t55.
    METHOD set_colname .
      data:
              alv_cols type REF TO cl_salv_columns_table,
              alv_col type REF TO cl_salv_column.
      TRY .
    *... Change fieldnames
            call METHOD iv_tab->get_columns RECEIVING value = alv_cols.
            call method alv_cols->get_column EXPORTING columnname = iv_colid RECEIVING value = alv_col.
            IF iv_stxt <> ''.
              CALL METHOD alv_col->set_short_text EXPORTING value = iv_stxt.
            ENDIF.
            IF iv_mtxt <> ''.
              CALL METHOD alv_col->set_medium_text EXPORTING value = iv_mtxt.
            ENDIF.
            IF iv_ltxt <> ''.
              CALL METHOD alv_col->set_long_text EXPORTING value = iv_ltxt.
            ENDIF.
       CATCH cx_salv_not_found.
      ENDTRY.
    ENDMETHOD. "set_colname
