Urgent!!Extracting Master data's thru Infoset!!

Hi Experts!!
I have  0material,material plant ,storage location, vendor, vendor purch organisation,Vendor info record,Pdt info are INFOOBJECTS, pdt channel ODS,vendor profile are ODS.
they created IS1  with Material, material plant & ODS pdt channel.,Object Pdt info
IS2 with material,material plant,storage location,vendor,ODS vendor profile,vendor purch organisation,Vendor info record
IS1 is pushed to MP1 Multi Provider1(same as in IS1 objects)
IS2 to MP2  MulitProvider2 with (IS2,Material Sales,Warehouse & Routing Master).
So  now we are getting records from table A & B unique records say 100.But the additional records are not extracted say 10 more missing.hope it is thru equal join or inner join...Could anyone tell me how to find the infoset which JOINS it belongs to??????????/
Now we need the additional 10 records say overall we need 110 records..Could Anyone suggest how we can solve this ?????Urgent reply ASAP.

    Hi
Go through the below process to extract Master Data Attribute from R/3
    Hi,
    Maintaining Generic DataSources
    Use
Regardless of the application, you can create and maintain generic DataSources for transaction data, master data attributes or texts from any transparent table, database view or SAP Query InfoSet, or using a function module. This allows you to extract data generically.
    Procedure
    Creating Generic DataSources
    1. Select the DataSource type and specify a technical name.
    2. Choose Create.
The screen for creating a generic DataSource appears.
    3. Choose the application component to which you want to assign the DataSource.
    4. Enter the descriptive texts. You can choose any text.
    5. Select the datasets from which you want to fill the generic DataSource.
    a. Choose Extraction from View if you want to extract data from a transparent table or a database view. Enter the name of the table or the database view.
After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the database view or transparent table.
For more information about creating and maintaining database views and tables, see the ABAP Dictionary Documentation.
    b. Choose Extraction from Query if you want to use a SAP Query InfoSet as the data source. Select the required InfoSet from the InfoSet catalog.
Notes on Extraction Using SAP Query
After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the InfoSet.
For more information about maintaining the InfoSet, see the System Administration documentation.
    c. Choose Extraction Using FM if you want to extract data using a function module. Enter the function module and extraction structure.
The data must be transferred by the function module in an interface table E_T_DATA.
    Interface Description and Extraction Process
For information about the function library, see the ABAP Workbench: Tools documentation.
    d. With texts you also have the option of extracting from fixed values for domains.
    6. Maintain the settings for delta transfer, as required.
    7. Choose Save.
When performing extraction, note SAP Query: Assigning to a User Group.
Note when extracting from a transparent table or view:
If the extraction structure contains a key figure field that references a unit of measure or a currency unit field, this unit field has to be included in the same extraction structure as the key figure field.
A screen appears on which you can edit the fields of the extraction structure.
    8. Edit the DataSource:
    ○ Selection
When you schedule a data request in the BI scheduler, you can enter the selection criteria for the data transfer. For example, you can determine that data requests are only to apply to data from the previous month.
If you set the Selection indicator for a field within the extraction structure, the data for this field is transferred in correspondence with the selection criteria in the scheduler.
    ○ Hide field
You set this indicator to exclude an extraction structure field from the data transfer. The field is no longer available in BI when you set the transfer rules or generate the transfer structure.
    ○ Inversion
Reverse postings are possible for customer-defined key figures. Therefore inversion is only active for certain transaction data DataSources. These include DataSources that have a field that is marked as an inversion field, for example, the update mode field in DataSource 0FI_AP_3. If this field has a value, the data records are interpreted as reverse records in BI.
If you want to carry out a reverse posting for a customer-defined field (key figure), set the Inversion indicator. The value of the key figure is transferred to BI in inverted form (multiplied by –1).
    ○ Field only known in exit
You can enhance data by extending the extraction structure for a DataSource by adding fields in append structures.
The Field Only Known in Exit indicator is set for the fields of an append structure; by default these fields are not passed to the extractor from the field list and selection table.
Deselect the Field Only Known in Exit indicator to enable the Service API to pass on the append structure field to the extractor together with the fields of the delivered extract structures in the field list and in the selection table.
    9. Choose DataSource ® Generate.
The DataSource is saved in the source system.
    Maintaining Generic DataSources
    ● Change DataSource
To change a generic DataSource, in the initial screen of DataSource maintenance, enter the name of the DataSource and choose Change.
You can change the assignment of a DataSource to an application component or change the texts of a DataSource. Double-click on the name of the table, view, InfoSet or extraction structure to get to the appropriate maintenance screen. Here you make the changes to add new fields. You can also completely swap transparent tables and database views, though this is not possible with InfoSets. Return to DataSource maintenance and choose Create. The screen for editing a DataSource appears. To save the DataSource in the SAP source system, choose DataSource ® Generate.
If you want to test extraction in the source system independently of a BI system, choose DataSource ® Test Extraction.
    ● Delta DataSource
On the Change Generic DataSource screen, you can delete any DataSources that are no longer relevant. If you are extracting data from an InfoSet, delete the corresponding query. If you want to delete a DataSource, make sure it is not connected to a BI system.

  • Error while uploading master data attributes thru flat file

while uploading master data attributes thru flat file i am facing the below errow. can nyone let me know plz.
Error 8 when compiling the upload program: row 227, message: Data type /BIC/CCDEIO_MAT5_ATTR was found in a new

This just means that you changed the transfer rules/transfer structure and have not refreshed the workbench yet.  The infopackage data hasn't been updated ... this is similar to a datasource update, where you need to replicate to make sure BW knows the latest version.
The best way to correct this error is to reload RSA1.  Every time I make a change to the tr/ts, I always run /nrsa1 to refresh the workbench.

  • Extract Master Data to Flat File

    Hello
Do you know a easy way to extract master data into a flat file?   I've tried using maintain master data but my master table is too large to display this way.

    Dear Satya,
    1) You can simply write an ABAP to access the P table ( /BIC/PInfobobject )
    2) Using infospokes
rsbo->ZDOWNLOAD->Create->Choose Data Source as Infopbject with attributes..
and select your fields and selections and specify the flat file destination and thatsts it..

  • RDA method to extract MAster Data from R/3

We need to implement the way to extract the Master Data from R/3 As soon as it available in R/3, but it's not like the new MAster Data is loaded in R/3 every 5 minutes, it's more like 3 o 4 times a month and i thought about RDA method, just wanted to see you opinion on wheather it is a good option for such an infrequent loads to BW
Does this DAEMON eats a lot of system resources? Pleas if the answer could be provided by someone who actually use RDA, it be great!

    Hi,
We use RDA for systems where the load is very frequent, but a Process Chain would do the required in your case as the data gets updated only a few times in a month.
RDA will be occupied in the Background Process, so that would create some problems. And it keeps on chiecking for new data.
I feel its unnecessary. So, go for Process Chains

  • Urgent: vendor master data

one of the scenario which i am working at my client place, we are actually getting vendor master data from other place, so what are the fields we need to get from that place
actually we might use IDOC or batch job to upload data into your system
please suggest me what might be the best way to upload the data
    thanks in advance

Try creating a dummy vendor in that company code and note all the mandatory fields. These will be the bare minimum fields that you may need to pull from.
There is a feature called LSMW, if you are not aware, a cool feature to upload mass data like master data.

    Hi Freinds,
    i have created 2 views
    1)ZVENDOR_ATTR ( some fields  from Table LFM1 )
    2)ZVENDOR_TEXT ( some fields from Tbale LFM1 & LFA1 )
Based on the above views, created data source and replicated to BI.
when i try to upload data to master data ( ZVENDOR) , i am getting the following error messages
    a)Data records for package 1 selected in PSA - 302 error(s)
    b)Error 4 in the update
can anyone help me, how to solve this problem ?
    Points for sure
    Thanks and Regards
    Vijaya

    Hi,
Error 4 is majorly due to converision exits mismatch.
When you created the Transfer rule there will be a box to check the conversion exits. Have you checked that and also in the Infopackage there will be a box to check conversion exits. Please check the same and try loading.

  • How to regularly update the Master data/Text/ Hierarchy for BW DEV?- Urgent

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone help me to understand how to update the Master data/Text/ Hierarchy regularly for BW DEV.
Since all the new query developments are taking place in DEV, users are not finding the latest Masterdata/ Texts /Hierarchy in the DEV system.
I have searched in SDN and got a document "HOW TO DOWNLOAD A HIERARCHY TO A FLAT FILE". However, is there any other way to upload the master data automatically on periodical basis.
    Please help urgently.
    Advance Thanks,
    BW USA

If you want to extract master data from PRD in order to load in DEV, i suggest to do this (its a tricky thing):
For example, you want to download 0EMPLOYEE
    1-In PRD, transaction RSD1
    2-Enter 0EMPLOYEE
    3-Copy the Master table for 0EMPLOYEE (/BI0/MEMPLOYEE)
    4-transaction SE16
    5-Enter the table name /BI0/MEMPLOYEE
6-in the selection screen, go to "Options" Menu and select "User parameters", and now select "Standard List SE16"
    7-Execute
8-Now its show's up the 0employee data, go to "System" menu - List - Save - Local File
9-After you have the flat file, only rest create Infopackae in DEV Env. and load it from the flat file.
    Asigns points if useful.

  • Question about Extraction of master data from R/3 into BI 3.5

    Hi there,
i want to extract master data, let's say customers or material, from an R/3 system into BI 3.5.
Now I know that SAP delivers ready-to-go DataSources for certain SAP applications that can be used for this type of situation. These DataSources will map some R/3 table fields for example to the according Business Content objects in BI.
    My question is:
Is there some ready-to-go DataSource for the master data i want to extract? Let it be customer data. Or "business partners" is the appropriate expression i think.
When I use Tcode SBIW to activate the DataSource I need for the extraction, I kind of have problems finding the right one. But for some simple master data I assume there must be a standard DataSource that I can use without bothering to change anything.
Or am I thinking the wrong way and it is easier than I think?
    Cheers,
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
    Some DataSources are 0MATERIAL_ATTR - 0ARTICLE_ATTR - 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR - 0ART_PLANT_ATTR - 0MAT_SALES_ATTR...
Consider that in some cases (Retail for example) you can find Master Data with 50mln of records, in this case you need absolutely delta upload method, offered by these extractors.
And above all you can always enhance these extractors.
You can built your custom extractors, on MARA - MARC - MBEW - ..., but you will not have delta capabilities and support from SAP for maintenance.
    Ciao.
    Riccardo.

  • Master data extraction from R/3 to BW

    Hi all,
I have to extract master data for characteristic 0CUSTOMER from R/3 system. I have two options for doing that namely 'direct update' and 'flexible update'. Can anyone suggest which method is used in which scenario? I need the data in 0SOLD_TO for some reports on Offers/Orders (0SD_C05) cube in SD. Can I extract data for only this particular attribute? Whats the difference between direct and flexible updates of master data? Please Guide.
    Thanks
    Sumit

    hi sumit,
Direct update is generally used for Master data infoobject & here no update rules are used, that means data from source system passes though transfer structure, rules, & communication structure directly to Data target i.e. InfoObject.
Flexible Update - generally used for transaction data ( nowadays can be used for few master data as well) has another set of rule after communication structure i.e. update rule before moving data to data target.

  • Master Data Extraction from BI to SCM

    Hi.....
I am extracting master data from BI InfoObject to SCM InfoObject. The extraction works properly provided master data exists in BI. However, if the InfoObject in BI does not have any master data, the extraction never completes but rather remains active (yellow). I have observed that the request triggers in BI and the job completes successfully, however, the status never turns green in SCM.
    Please comment.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anoop Sahu

    Hi Anoop
Even when there is no data available, the extractor expects some message which says that there is no data available. You can try to fix this by changing the traffic lights option in the infopackage menu, if there is no data available you can have the request green with 0 records, so that it prevents running the extraction forever.

  • Master Data Extraction through Open Hub services(InfoSpoke)

    Hello,
I need your help on this issue,
    Here is my scenario...
I want to extract Master data from BW (Info Object) as a file and put it in a server then later that can be picked up by some other deprtment for their process. This process has to be automated to run on a weekly basis.
I know this can be done through a InfoSpoke(either ATTR or Text) and Process Chain but I want both attributes & text data in a single file because through InfoSpoke we can get either ATTR or TEXT data in a file.
1)Is there any way we can have both TEXT and ATTRIBUTEs data in a single file.
    2) Also what are the options to transfer the file from a BW app server into another non-BW server?
Currenty I created a BEx query against a InfoObject, ruuning a report and sending them the file manually. I want to automate the process.
I would appreciate if you could give me input on the above.
    Thanks
    BI Consultant

    Hi,
The simpleset way to do is to create a ODS with the required columns and map it to your TEXT and ATTR. Then you could use either a Query or a Info Spoke to extract data how ever you want it. Since you are using master data it would have been validated, so you don't need to use a reportable ODS, which takes time to activate the data. So create a info set on top of the ODS and do a simple query if you want to use it. If you want to automate completely and deliver the output as .CSV file to the destination server you may have to do little bit more and that will involve some serious ABAP work. The simpleset would be have a ODS 'Non reportable' and extract the data using info spoke.
Let me know if you need more info.
    Thanks,
    Alex.

  • How to handle/extract Hierarchies in master data from R3

    Hi Experts!!!
Iu2019m currently working on HR Implementation project and this is my first project. Implementation is being done in BI 7.0 and ECC 6.0. I have some queries  regarding the extraction of master data from R3 as furnished below.
    1.     By default all the datasources  are in 3.x technology  and Iu2019ve migrated all the datasources with export and successfully performed InfoPackages  and  DTPS  into their respective InfoObjects/Data targets. But when it comes to the masterdata datasources with hierarchies, Iu2019m unable to migrate them as there is no MIGRATE option in the context menu. When I tried to create infopackage, it asked me to create Transfer rules first and perform InfoPackage. Is it mandatory to work in 3.x technology (Transfer rules/ Update rules)  in case of master data hierarchies? In this case how to handle datasources with hierarchies?
    2.     Is it required to have any data staging component  like DSO while extracting master data datasources from SAP R/3  to their respective InfoObjects (Data targets)?? Or can I directly schedule Infopackage and DTP directly into the InfoObject with out any DSOS in between for HR master data??
    Good day!!!

    hello,
    1)
all DataSource that are created in BI 7.0 are new design, master data attribute, text and transaction DataSource can all be created in the new BI 7.0, but for hierarchy DataSource, it remains as 3.X, if you double click on the Hier DataSource, you will see the title "...Emulated 3.X ...", so the DataSource should be working perfectly fine except it is in "Modified" version, i believe it is just SAP has not or can't a way to upgrade hier DataSource.
    Also,
RSDS doesnt support hierarchy datasources in BI 7.0. So we cannot use transformations and DTP with hierarchy. So it is very similar to the way we used to load it in 3.x.
Check below link for step by step procedure to load hierarchy using flat file:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/fa/e92637c2cbf357e10000009b38f936/content.htm
    2)
i dont think you need a DSO in between for laoding master data from R/3 to BI IO.

    Dhanya
