Generic Extraction ( Master Data )  problem

Hi Freinds,
i have created 2 views
1)ZVENDOR_ATTR ( some fields  from Table LFM1 )
2)ZVENDOR_TEXT ( some fields from Tbale LFM1 & LFA1 )
Based on the above views, created data source and replicated to BI.
when i try to upload data to master data ( ZVENDOR) , i am getting the following error messages
a)Data records for package 1 selected in PSA - 302 error(s)
b)Error 4 in the update
can anyone help me, how to solve this problem ?
Points for sure
Thanks and Regards
Vijaya

Hi,
Error 4 is majorly due to converision exits mismatch.
When you created the Transfer rule there will be a box to check the conversion exits. Have you checked that and also in the Infopackage there will be a box to check conversion exits. Please check the same and try loading.

how to  extract  master data  attribute from  r/3 to bw give steps details screenshots

    Hi
Go through the below process to extract Master Data Attribute from R/3
    Hi,
    Maintaining Generic DataSources
    Use
Regardless of the application, you can create and maintain generic DataSources for transaction data, master data attributes or texts from any transparent table, database view or SAP Query InfoSet, or using a function module. This allows you to extract data generically.
    Procedure
    Creating Generic DataSources
    1. Select the DataSource type and specify a technical name.
    2. Choose Create.
The screen for creating a generic DataSource appears.
    3. Choose the application component to which you want to assign the DataSource.
    4. Enter the descriptive texts. You can choose any text.
    5. Select the datasets from which you want to fill the generic DataSource.
    a. Choose Extraction from View if you want to extract data from a transparent table or a database view. Enter the name of the table or the database view.
After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the database view or transparent table.
For more information about creating and maintaining database views and tables, see the ABAP Dictionary Documentation.
    b. Choose Extraction from Query if you want to use a SAP Query InfoSet as the data source. Select the required InfoSet from the InfoSet catalog.
Notes on Extraction Using SAP Query
After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the InfoSet.
For more information about maintaining the InfoSet, see the System Administration documentation.
    c. Choose Extraction Using FM if you want to extract data using a function module. Enter the function module and extraction structure.
The data must be transferred by the function module in an interface table E_T_DATA.
    Interface Description and Extraction Process
For information about the function library, see the ABAP Workbench: Tools documentation.
    d. With texts you also have the option of extracting from fixed values for domains.
    6. Maintain the settings for delta transfer, as required.
    7. Choose Save.
When performing extraction, note SAP Query: Assigning to a User Group.
Note when extracting from a transparent table or view:
If the extraction structure contains a key figure field that references a unit of measure or a currency unit field, this unit field has to be included in the same extraction structure as the key figure field.
A screen appears on which you can edit the fields of the extraction structure.
    8. Edit the DataSource:
    ○ Selection
When you schedule a data request in the BI scheduler, you can enter the selection criteria for the data transfer. For example, you can determine that data requests are only to apply to data from the previous month.
If you set the Selection indicator for a field within the extraction structure, the data for this field is transferred in correspondence with the selection criteria in the scheduler.
    ○ Hide field
You set this indicator to exclude an extraction structure field from the data transfer. The field is no longer available in BI when you set the transfer rules or generate the transfer structure.
    ○ Inversion
Reverse postings are possible for customer-defined key figures. Therefore inversion is only active for certain transaction data DataSources. These include DataSources that have a field that is marked as an inversion field, for example, the update mode field in DataSource 0FI_AP_3. If this field has a value, the data records are interpreted as reverse records in BI.
If you want to carry out a reverse posting for a customer-defined field (key figure), set the Inversion indicator. The value of the key figure is transferred to BI in inverted form (multiplied by –1).
    ○ Field only known in exit
You can enhance data by extending the extraction structure for a DataSource by adding fields in append structures.
The Field Only Known in Exit indicator is set for the fields of an append structure; by default these fields are not passed to the extractor from the field list and selection table.
Deselect the Field Only Known in Exit indicator to enable the Service API to pass on the append structure field to the extractor together with the fields of the delivered extract structures in the field list and in the selection table.
    9. Choose DataSource ® Generate.
The DataSource is saved in the source system.
    Maintaining Generic DataSources
    ● Change DataSource
To change a generic DataSource, in the initial screen of DataSource maintenance, enter the name of the DataSource and choose Change.
You can change the assignment of a DataSource to an application component or change the texts of a DataSource. Double-click on the name of the table, view, InfoSet or extraction structure to get to the appropriate maintenance screen. Here you make the changes to add new fields. You can also completely swap transparent tables and database views, though this is not possible with InfoSets. Return to DataSource maintenance and choose Create. The screen for editing a DataSource appears. To save the DataSource in the SAP source system, choose DataSource ® Generate.
If you want to test extraction in the source system independently of a BI system, choose DataSource ® Test Extraction.
    ● Delta DataSource
On the Change Generic DataSource screen, you can delete any DataSources that are no longer relevant. If you are extracting data from an InfoSet, delete the corresponding query. If you want to delete a DataSource, make sure it is not connected to a BI system.

  • Extract Master Data to Flat File

    Hello
Do you know a easy way to extract master data into a flat file?   I've tried using maintain master data but my master table is too large to display this way.

    Dear Satya,
    1) You can simply write an ABAP to access the P table ( /BIC/PInfobobject )
    2) Using infospokes
rsbo->ZDOWNLOAD->Create->Choose Data Source as Infopbject with attributes..
and select your fields and selections and specify the flat file destination and thatsts it..
    regards,
    Hari

But the problem is one extra Sales Organization has come into picture which is not there in R/3. Only that Sales Organization number is coming. It does not have any attributes.

    Hi,
most likely the ID 1301 has been created automatically by the system (or maually by a user); meaning another IObj may have 0SALESORG as Attr with value 1301 and/or an InfoProvider (cube/ODS) may have data posted with 0SALESORG = 1301.
I suggest to perform a master data deletion with program RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND (SE38) or directly by right_clicking the IObj 0SALESORG.
The system will then try to delete all Master Data ID (MDIDs): those which aren't used will be deleted and those which are used won't and will be reported in the deletion protocol.
You will then have to see the protocol in SLG1:
    Object          RSDMD
    Subobject       MD_DEL
and see in which object your MDID 1301 is used; You'll have to check then how it has been posted there.
If you want to delete it from 0SALESORG you'll have first to delete it from the object where it is used.
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.

  • RDA method to extract MAster Data from R/3

We need to implement the way to extract the Master Data from R/3 As soon as it available in R/3, but it's not like the new MAster Data is loaded in R/3 every 5 minutes, it's more like 3 o 4 times a month and i thought about RDA method, just wanted to see you opinion on wheather it is a good option for such an infrequent loads to BW
Does this DAEMON eats a lot of system resources? Pleas if the answer could be provided by someone who actually use RDA, it be great!

    Hi,
We use RDA for systems where the load is very frequent, but a Process Chain would do the required in your case as the data gets updated only a few times in a month.
RDA will be occupied in the Background Process, so that would create some problems. And it keeps on chiecking for new data.
I feel its unnecessary. So, go for Process Chains

  • Vendor Master data problem?? urgent please

    hi,
i am trying to populate the vendor master data(name) into the cube. but the data is not there in /BI0/TVENDOR table. what could be the problem? what should i do to populate the NAME in to the cube. i have done transformations in update rules with 0VENDOR.
    regards

    HI Venu,
If u want to use that characteristic in the cube and if u want to load the data to that characteristic then make that characteristic as a exclusive attibute and use that characteristic in the cube and in transformation give the mapping with read master data.. remember this will give u the fact but not the present truth.....
If u just want to display that vendor name as characteristic and which u dont want to depend on the main master data object then make that object as a navigation attibute....

  • Generic and Master data delta.

    HI,
Will you please give me the solution for 'The differenet delats we have in generic delta, what actually is a numeric pointer.. how does it pick delat..is it something like it picks a record which has changes in it or it it each neew record..
if suppose we have 1 to 10 customers, will numeric pointer pick every new customer like (11, 12 , 13) as deltas or changes in 1 to 10 customers itself..
And Regarding master data deltas, how will the master data pick the deltas, is it every new record as customer mentioned above will be picked or something other..
the basic thing i want to know is, will it pick any changes in attributes as delta also.. if suppose we have a customer 001 with an attribute as 0ACCNT_GRP, if in any case if this 0ACCNT_GRP has change.. will it even pick this as an delata or not...
    i would appreciate your response..
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shashikanth.

    Hi Shashi,
Well....I could give some points on the master data delta..Its achieved by the ALE change pointers mechanism.
There are some tables responsible for storing the changes...CDHDR and CDPOS are good candidates for this.
    Hope this helps..
    Regards,
    Marc.

  • Lease Out master data problem (FOV3)

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I am having a problem when maintaining master data in Txn FOV3. When i put "sales grading" in Lease Out: sales based rent popup box, system doesn't cater the percentage rate. For example (these are what i entered in the master data):
Sales From       Sales Upto                     % rate
    0.00         150,000.00      0.00
    150,000.00         300,000.00      8.00
    300,000.00         400,000.00      12.00
    400,000.00         500,000.00      15.00
    500,000.00         9,000,000.00      19.00
So, if the sales i maintained in txn FOU2NS is 402,890.12 the system will only take 15% instead of calculate line by line percentage rate as below:
    0     to     150,000.00     -     0%     =      0
    150,000.00     to     300,000.00     -     8%     =     12,000
    300,000.00     to     400,000.00     -     12%     =     12,000
    400,000.00     to     500,000.00     -     15%     =                    433.52
    500,000.00   to                 9,000,000.00      -     19%
    Total                         =     24,433.52
Is there any setting in configuration so that the system will cater or calculate as per stated above (line by line percentage rate)?
    Thanking you in advance.

  • NewBe Query Master Data Problem

    Hi Forum,
I am facing a BI newbe problem with some queries.
I defined a Characteristic InfoObject (ZSID) with two attributes (ZHOST, ZDB). From a master data table I imported some data into this InfoObject. Now when defining a query in the Query Designer, where ZSID is a Row and the two attributes are Columns, I see in the result just the ZSID objects, for the two attributes a “#” gets displayed.
For all InfoObjects I enabled the “with masterdata” checkbox…
    Any ideas what to change???

    Hi Chris,
Check your Info object data in Maintain master data.
'display attribute' can be displayed in query,
after drag the parent characteristic into 'row' area (or 'free characteristic'), right click the characteristic and you will see 'attributes', cursor position on it and all the attributes will be shown, choose the attribute(s) to be included in query.
    hope this helps.
    cheers

Does anyone know how to solve this error?
    Kind regards,
    Frank

    Hi ,
first up all u r not mentioning the tcode and other mandatory field values...just in the field mapping and conversion step...
click -->Extras -->Layout and select all fields
and give default values to field TCODE,and other fields also and also check whether mapping conversion with regard to source is correct or not...
If still any doubts i can clarify

  • SLED master data problem

    Hello,
I'm using SLED and its working fine. But for one material when i carry out batch determination, batches are not selected. When i check the log the error is Batch 7865  does not correspond to selection criteria. This is the case for all batches. I checked in MSC2N and shelf life is in December2008 but still its not selecting batches. When i carryout batch determination without class, batches are displayed. What could be wrong in master data or other than that ?
    Regards

    Dear,
Please check the batch search procedure in MBC1 with search strategy as ME01 for your plant material and movement type then inside you need to maintain the selection criteria (Press F7) and sort rule (Cu70) for your class and main characteristics (LOBM_VFDAT) as a selection criteria for  batch search. Then save the condition type and check.

    hello all,
i have an item master data record. it was created as an Purchase item checked. other tick box are unchecked during the creation of the item. now a transaction on this item has been made. PO -->> GRPO, now the time we want to withdraw the item from the Warehouse as an Inventory Item, we found out that this item master data is not an Inventory Item. its inventory count is zero. GRPO does not affect the stock in WH.
Please tell me how will i solve this one.
    Thanks & best Regards.
    Fidel

    hello Gordon and Laurence,
Thanks a lot for the quick response.
im a quiet confuse why should i need to lock the item, what i did, i just check the inventory item check box and the system allow it. im thinking if ill just make an goods receipt to put the count in the inventory since the transaction of this item is just yet once. is this just ok? also i want to ask, since the item now is updated and inventory item already if a new transaction will occur, will this item master data behave as a normal Inventory Item like others?
    please advice.
    many thanks

this function module works for both master and transaction data. Nothing specific here with regard to the function module template to be used. Also go through the comments using which you can get in some datasource specific improvements also by being able to bring in datasource name as well.
