Urgent Issue!! Forecast at Month level to split across week

Hi,
I have a requirement where user will enter forecast at month level and they wish to split the value at week level automatically in the input schedule / reports.
For e.g.
        Jan      Feb     Mar

Ok, here is a code example.  This assumes that we're only interested in the EXTSALES account but works for any requirement.  The time and category dimesion properties are used to limit the scope and perform the time redirection.
Properties
In the category the property [YEAR] gives the yyyy value for the budget input category NBUDGET
In the time dimension the property [WEEKSINPERIOD] give the number of weeks in each of the month input members.  This is the denominator to spread to the weeks.  The [INPUTPERIOD] property is used to associate a week with the monthly input member.
Dimension Members
In the time dimension the hierarchy is Weeks > Months > Quarters > Year.
To perform the monthly input there is a dummy hierarchy that holds the input members.  Remember, the hierarchy has to be balances so dummy rollups are setup to put the input members at the month.  A partial hierarchy for this is:
YEAR.INP
+ QTR.INP
++ 2007.INP
+++ 2007.JAN.INP
+++ 2007.FEB.INP
+++ 2007.MAR.INP
In the real time members, 2007.WK1 would rollup to 2007.JAN and so on.  The INPUTPERIOD property on 2007.WK1 would be 2007.JAN.INP

I just noticed that the forum posting read my not equal signs in my select statements as control characters and displayed nothing.  I've inserted <<>> into the code for the not equal operator however, the actual symbol should be the standard left arrow right arrow with no space.

    Dear Kaka,
    The first step you can do is, set Payment Indicator Block indicator in vendor master data T.code FK02, to avoid that invoice shouldn't be paid in automatic payment program. (To stop the interaction with vendor).
    You can clear the DownPayment against invoice invoice number T.Code F-54, enter the invoice number to clear the downpayment
    You can do the vendor manual clearing F-44 for invoice amount 9000 agianst dowpayment
    After this vendor will have only 1000 debit amount which will not be paid in AutoPayment program nor in manual payment e.g. T.code F-58
    In future if you got the invoice for remaining 1000, you can clear this invoice against pending debit amount 1000 for Downpayment and if there will be no subsequent invoice from this vendor, balance will remain open untill you post the adjustment.

  • URGENT: Issue with hierarchy level keys and report drill down

    BASIC STRUCTURE:
    I have created a subject area with 3 facts (FACT_A, FACT_B, FACT_C) and 4 dimesnions (TIME_DIM,DIM_2,DIM_3,DIM_4). Each fact table also has additional aggregate tables aggregated along levels of the time dimension. Also our timw dimension has aggregated dimension tables like TIME_DIM_WEEK, TIME_DIM_MONTH, TIME_DIM_QUARTER and TIME_DIm_YEAR.
    GOAL:
    All 3 facts have the same measures M_1 and M_2 in them but may not have data for the same dimension values selected.
    For example
    For month JAN 2000 FACT_A.M1=100$ and no data exists for JAN 2000 in FACT_B and FACT_C. Then in the report
    for JAN2000 it should show FACT_A.M1= $100, FACT_B.M1 = 0 and FACT_C.M1 =0. In this case I should be able to drill down to the lowest level.
    ISSUE:
    The time dimension TIME_DIM has the following levels - Total -> Year -> Quarter -> Month -> Week -> Day
    However I am having an issue with drill down in the reports whenever I pull metrics from more than 1 fact at a time. I have defined the level keys but not sure if I need to do anything in addition since I am using aggregates.
    I have to fix this issue quickly. Please help me.

    All the fact tables have aggregated facts as sources.
    I have checked the levels set for each of the sources to the time dimesnion table in BMM and they look okay. So the Time dim table in BMM has 4 source tables
    Time_Day (level set to day, table key is "day"),
    Time_month (level set to month, table key is "Fiscal_Month_Code"),
    Time_Quarter(level set to quarter, table key is "Fiscal_Quarter_Code") and
    Time_Year(level set to year, table key is :Fiscal_Year_Code").
    Note: No time week aggregate added as logical source.
    Again the time dim hierarchy based off of this table has levels: Total -> Year ->quarter -> Month -> week -> day
    The levels keys set for each level are
    Year -> Primary key is Year_Name (YYYY)(Checked as chronological key) and another key is Year_Num (YYYY)(Checked as chronological key)
    Quarter->Primary Key is Quarter_Name (YYYY Qn), another key is Quarter_Number (Format n where n can assum values 1,2,3,4). Both keys are set as chronological keys
    Month -> Primary key is Month_Name (MON YYYY), another key is Month_Num (Format n where n can assume values from 1 to 12) Both keys are set as chronological keys
    Week -> Primary Key is week name (YYYY Wk nn, where nn can have values from 1 to 53), another key is week num (nn, where nn can have values from 1 to 53)
    Day -> primary key set to day (date format)
    Issue1: When I try to drill to lower levels it throws out an error saying report cannot find any data because filters may be too restrictive even though I see data at higher level
    For ex: If I drill down to Year: 2010 and Qtr: 2010 Q2 and M1:$100 when I click on Qtr to drll to month level it throws me the error
    Issue2: when I add year and qtr colums to the report I see data as below which is incorrect

    In the above example year_name is not showing up for 2010 Q2 and after. However if I change the primary key for level 'Quarter' by having key consist of year name and quarter name instead of just quarter name the issue doesnt occur and drill down works great. The only issue is when I drill from qtr it first shows year name and quarter name instead of showing the next level which would be month name.
    Sorry about the long message but I thought you might notice something in how I have set up the keys.

  • Project 2013 - entering work hours at a monthly level

    Hi all, 
    Any help with this 'hopefully small' problem will be hugely appreciated. It's not so much a problem, but
    me still being new to Project - sorry! As a summary of what I am working with:
    I have entered a list of tasks (all set to Manually Scheduled).
    I have entered a number of resources into the Resource List. 
    I have also assigned relevant resources to the tasks. 
    Using the Task Usage view, I would now like to begin entering Work hours for the resources assigned to the
    tasks. We are planning at a monthly level, so I know how many hours each resource is expecting to be spending on each task over each month. 
    I have set the Timescale of my Task Usage screen to a monthly scale, thinking that this would allow me to
    enter total hours for each month. As an example, one of the resources assigned to a task is set for 15 hours of Work in April. It all seems to look OK on input. 
    My problem is however, I would like the Start and Finish fields to reflect this, and span over the months
    in which the Task's resources will be doing work. It doesn't seem to pick up the month accurately. Although I have entered the 15 hours in the column labelled April, the Start and Finish dates have come out as 30/04/14 and 30/05/14 respectively. I was hoping
    the Start and Finish times of that row to be 01/04/14 and 30/04/14 respectively, but they are a month out of line, and has show the work to be happening over May, not April. Is there y way I can change this?
    I hope this makes sense as a question? Any help at all would be brilliant. Please do let me know if I've
    missed any detail and you need some more info. I'll also continue looking through the forums to check if this has already been asked. 
    p.s. I tried to upload an annotated image, but my account needs to be verified first. Do I need to do anything to request this? I didn't receive any usual 'verification' links in MS's email on opening this account.

    experts being active across multiple sites! 
    I have given both suggestions a try, but unfortunately am still not quite there yet. 
    John, although your tip seems to work OK, I think I was hoping to find a way for the Start and Finish times to automatically span across the Work hours I have entered. If I was to then enter another 5 hours, but this time for March, the Start-Finish dates
    should auto update to be 01/03/14 - 30/04/14. I understand now that this may require me to be on an Automatically Scheduled project? 
    Julie, your screen shot on the msofficeforums.com website is exactly what I am looking to achieve! I would like to enter month-level Work data, and that looks to be exactly that. I did try entering a zero in the month immediately after the last month that
    had hours in it, but Project seemed to simply ignore it, with no visible change to the dates. 
    I have done some further investigating, and there does seem to be something different happening with my Project version (it's Proj Prof 2013). I have access to another computer with Project 2010 installed on it, and this doesn't seem to cause an issue. Note,
    I did need to have set the tasks as Auto Scheduled. 
    Essentially, if I try and exactly replicate Julie's example on both versions with the following steps, I get slightly different results:
    Tasks set to Auto-Scheduled. 
    Set Project Start Date to 01/01/14
    Enter some resources. 
    Switch to Task Usage view. 
    Set the Timescales on the right hand side to: Bottom tier=Months, Middle tier=Quarters. 
    Enter a task. 
    Assign resources to the task. At this point, by default 8 hours worth of work appears for each assigned resource. In 2010, these hours appear in the January 14 column. But on my 2013 laptop however, these hours appear under the December 2013 column. Strange?
    Anyway, in both cases I clear these default hours by entering zeros in their places.
    I now enter 15 hours under April 2014 for one of the resources on the task.
    In 2010, the Start and Finish dates of the assigned resource's row update to 01/04/14 - 30/04/14.
    In 2013 however, the Start and Finish dates update to 30/04/14 - 30/05/14. 
    I have a feeling that this discrepancy is perhaps at the heart of my problem? Is there a setting with the application that I am not making?

    URGENT ISSUE: Line In Lag? Hello everyone, for Christmas I got a brand new computer with Windows 7 and a Soundblaster X-Fi card. I got this new computer to record music.
    I was horrified to find out that when I record guitar, vocals, or anything else through the Line in there is a MASSIVE lag that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to record! I have been looking for a fix for this for two months now. Some people with Realtek sound cards are saying there is a way to eliminate the lag with the Realtek control center program, others claim ASIO4ALL can eliminate the lag but I've had no?luck with that. I've tried tons of things to only find that the lag still persists
    I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM! THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF MUSICIANS EXPERIENCING THIS! I am very desperate, recording music is what I li've for, and with Windows 7 I can't do that. I am begging Creative or someone to help me. Release a patch, anything..... Musicians worldwide are in an uproar, just do a google search on this topic to see how many people are experiencing this!

    Note:
    I'm not sure where the In-Process report server is looking for the classpath. I added them in all possible classpaths ans none of them worked.
    This is an urgent issue in our team. We are migrating from 10g oracle application server to fusion middleware 11g report server. This functionality is working in 10g report server but not in 11g due to classpath issues.
    Please let me know if additional info needed. Please respond.

    Thanks very much for responding. I added my jar file(customdest.jar) as you have suggested to setDomainEnv.sh. Now the In-Process report server just hangs when I try to bring it up through em and I don't see any errors in the log files. Any ideas where to look for errors? The jar files were created for 10g , we are just migrating them to 11g. I have setup the trace at highest level still don't see any error in rwserver_diagnostic.log.

    No more error logged after this line. but in-process server just hung up indefinitely when I tried stating via the em and also via getserverinfo URL.

  • Aggregation of the Forecast to product level

    Hi,
    In the Demand Planning We have a requirement that say there are 2 products A and B. We will execute the forecast   at the product level  and  we get forecast say 200 ifor product A and 300 ifor product B for next month.
    Now i will run the forecast at the product group level(taking these 2 products in one selection) and i will get the forecast say 500. Now the requirement is that this forecast is to be disaggregated to 200 for product A and 300 for product B . Client do not like to run the forecast at the product level.If we run at the product group level,this should be disaggregated to the product level in such a way it shhould equal to the forecast when we run at product level.  Forecast profile is same for product and product group level. All the other parameters such as historical period,forecast periods etc are same at the product and product group level.
    Please advise what are the settings required.

    Hi Siva,
    If I understand correctly what you need is either you forecast at aggregate level or details level, forecast at details level should be same in both case.
    This is more of chicken or egg come first situation. If you really like the forecast at the aggregate level to disaggregate same as forecast at detail level than I would suggest to forecast at lower level.
    Reason being, Even though you use same forecast profile you will get different forecast numbers at lower level and aggregate level due to different sale pattern (Sales history) at detail level in case you are using complex forecast strategy.
    You may take following approach to get some what near by results if not exact.
    1. calculate "detail proportion factor" for all periods you want to forecast.
    2. Forecast at product group level and dis aggregate based on this detailed proportion factors.

    Hi Harsh,
    Remember that the tree table is a Master-Detail relationship between VO. So in your case, you are applying a VO Criteria to your Master, wich will allow you to filter data a Master Level. If you want to filter the Child VO, you need to create a ViewCriteria for it and apply it in your AM -> YourMaster -> YourChild VO :: Edit -> Shuttle the VC to the right.
    But following this approach the Filter you use in the ChildVO, will be applied to all Childs independently of the MasterVO.
    Hope it is clearer now, but let me know if you need more help or if you think I didn't understand your main issue.

  • How to generate a Yearly report based on a calculation at the Month level

    Have the need to create a report as follows. Any ideas on how this can be accomplished in OBI is appreciated. I have already tried different ways but non worked for me.
    The data is stored in a table at day level as follows:
    Day Amount_A Amouont_B
    1/1/2008     100     100
    1/15/2008     200     100
    2/1/2008     100     400
    2/15/2008     300     200
    1/1/2009     100     300
    1/15/2009     100     200
    2/1/2009     200     100
    2/15/2009     400     300
    The report should be displayed at Year level. Amount_A is just the summation of Amount_A from the table at daily level rolled up to the Year level in the Time dimension. The same thing for Amount_B.
    The formula for Absolute_Error is Absolute(Amount_A - Amount_B). But the problem is that it has to be calculated at the Month level instead of Day Level. So following is the logic for Absolute_Error:
    Month     Amount_A Amount_B     Absolute_Error
    Jan-2008     300     200     100
    Feb-2008     400     600     200
    Jan-2009     200     500     300
    Feb-2009     600     400     200
    The report should be displayed as follows:
    Year Amount_A Amount_B     Absolute_Error
    2008     700     800     300
    2009     800     900     500
    Note that the calculation of Absolute_Error results in a different value if it is calculated at the Month level and summed up to Year than if it were calculated at the Day level and then summed up to Year. It is required to be based on Month level for this report.
    Is there a way to do this without having to build an aggregated fact table at the Month level?

    Do this:
    1. Create Amount_A and Amount_B in BMM without SUM as default aggregation rule.
    2. Now, just go to Answers and make report with three columns:
    YEAR -- EXPRESSION 1 -- EXPRESSION 2
    EXPRESSION 1 is:
    sum(Amount_A) - sum(Amount_B)
    EXPRESSION 2 is:
    sum
    abs
    sum(Amount_A by MONTH)
    sum(Amount_B by MONTH)
    My example in Answers:
    TIMES.CALENDAR_YEAR
    sum(SALES.QUANTITY_SOLD_NORMAL) - sum(SALES.AMOUNT_SOLD_NORMAL)
    sum( abs(sum(SALES.QUANTITY_SOLD_NORMAL by TIMES.CALENDAR_MONTH_DESC) - sum(SALES.AMOUNT_SOLD_NORMAL by TIMES.CALENDAR_MONTH_DESC) ) )
    This will first summarize amount A and amount B on a month level and then do a difference, after that ABS and then sum on the year level.
    This is workaround to avoid larger RPD changes.

    I am working an assignment to assign multiple roles for multiplr user.
    In selection screen we have to enter mutiple EMPNO from ..to
    1)  in second screen we will get the empno, First name, last name,  Position,
        From  date, To date, Sap user ID, Email id in the table formate with first
        column  with Check box.
    2) In second screen below the table I have to place the multiple roles just like in
       the step  loop format and below this one Execute button should be there.
    If we select the multiple employees or single employee and place the multiple roles or single roles and if I click the execute button then the multiple roles will be assigned to the multiple employees. The empno and roles will come from table and step loop to internal table and the same will pass to the BDC.
    For this requirement I prepered recording for Transaction PFCG. But I can't understand how to design the second screen that table format and the step loop format. Can anybody give any idea or any coding to design  the second screen.
    and how to meet the requirement. This is urgent issue. Good SDN points will be reworded.

    There are slight changes in the sivas code.Where is the data coming into the table.If its from a Model Node then iterate each element of the source node get that value compare and set the corresponding value in the element of the node binded to table.
    Create a boolean attribute "select" in the table node and bind it to checked property of the check box.

  • Very Very Urgent Issue: Restricted Key Figure does not return any data

    Hi all,
    Please help me solving this urgent issue.
    created customer exit variable on characterstics version and also
    other customer exit variable on Value type.
    I coded that in variable exit. Problem is when I include these in
    restrickted keyfigure My query does not return me any data.
    But if I remove from restrickted key firgure and put it as normal
    charaterstics I see the variable is getting populated.
    Also in RSRT the SQl generated when these are included in RKF is not
    correct.
    I debugged and know they are getting populated. As when included in RKF
    I can also see the values of customer exit variables from information
    tab.
    I also know that there is data in cube for those restrictions.
    I posted one OSS Notes regarding this urgent issue. But got no reply from SAP.
    FYI: We are using BEx 3.5 Browser SAP GUI 6.4 Patch 20 BW Patch 11

    You can use lsmw and do a recording to insert those new customer fields. LSMW can call bdc recording and you can enter the values there...

    There  is  many documents  with error Log-''The statistical value of the document item is zero.''.
    The pricing  settings looks OK and its impossible  to

    please check the VBRP-BRTWR. If this fiels is zero then you get an entry in the incompletion log.
    the message could be also occur if the GRWR is zero.
    Please check your pricing setting.

    one urgent issue regarding user-exits;
    i have the requirement like this:
    if any one of these fields ZPBSTQTY2, ZPCSTQTY2, ZPBKTQTY2, ZPCKTQTY2 and ZPBFRQTY2 in table S505 is GT 0, then i need to pass a value 'X' to two flags present in that table.
    then i have to update it thru transaction VA01.

    Hello,
    To update Customer fields in a WBS element you can use LSMW recording mode for Tx: CJ02
    Enter the WBS element definition on the initial screen and cheese 'enter'
    in the WBS element overview, choose first line and select from menu: ' Details -> <Customer Fields> (This is an exit and you may see a different text over here) and you see the customer fields. fill the values in the fields and save.
