URGENT:Making a poplist value freezed based on another poplist value

Hi,
I have a requirement to make a poplist value freezed(should get disabled so that no further change can be done) based on another poplist value.
for ex : poplist 1 : A,B.
poplist2: yes,no
if A is selected, yes,no should appear in the poplist2.
if B is selected, only YEs should appear in the poplist2 and it should get greyed out(disabled for further changing).

there is nothing urgent on this forum!
You know that you should provide your jdev version so that we can help you solve your problem.
Next it would help if you provide the code (of the page) so that we see how you setup the 'poplist' (whatever that exactly is).
If you mean a selectOnceChioce you can implement a valuechangeListener on poplist A and depending on the new value set the value of poplist B to yes and disable it.

Table Control: make a field editable or not based on another field value

HI All,
How to make a column field input enabled or disabled based on another field value in a Table Control.
Here's the scenario:
I have a table control with two columns, KTOKK and LIFNR. Now for certain KTOKK, the LIFNR field should be editable and for certain KTOKK it should not be editable.
Eg., KTOKK = 0001 => LIFNR field is not editable.
KTOKK = ZKTO => LIFNR field is editable.
But these fields are in a table control.
Please advice.

Let me make sure u r working with table control.
First u have to create a event(VALIDATE) to do the validation.
Inside the event,
1. First get the current index where user has pointed the curson
2. Once u get the index read the internal table with index value.
3. Now u can compare the col1 and col2 values and populate the error message.
1. DATA : lo_elt TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
l_index type i.
lo_elt = wdevent->get_context_element( name = 'CONTEXT_ELEMENT' ).
CALL METHOD LO_ELT->GET_INDEX( RECEIVING MY_INDEX = l_index.
above code should be written inside the event.

Value for a parameter based on another parameter value

i am using report 6i and 10g db.
I have to create a report based on some parameter values. For example
Two parameter named as P_emp_code and P_emp_name
In the first parameter p_emp_code has list of values like empcode emp_full_name ie like 0002108 Vanitha Lanet Mendez
when user select P_emp_code i want to display the fullname in p_emp_name .
I tried as follows in list of values
select emp_fullname from emp_master where emp_code=:p_emp_code
then getting error bind variable cannot be used

Hello,
The thing you are asking for set and editing the reports parameter form's value. Then i don't think you can do this by using the report parameter form.
But there are two alternatives for this task.
1. Create one form using form builder and pass the parameter and run the report from there. So, you can use the code as you showed in your first post.
2. Why don't you make this Title setting automatically? I Mean using the gender column (with decode/case condition) of same table.

Is it possible to display the material attribute value based on cost center value. I mean for some cost centers I would like to display the value of other characteristic in place of material attribute. I am trying to create a query on MP.

In Rows, Create a struture. Using New Selection, You can restrict the New Value to the cost center (Restrict again on those some cost centers) and material. And for this New Characteristic, you can have a attribute.

Making a DFF field mandatory based on another field

We have a requirement where in we need to make a DFF field mandatory based on another field.
example:
DFF has two fields :
Filed1 : values 'Email', 'Fax'
Filed2
If 'Email' is selected in 'Field1' then Field2 should become mandatory.

recently, i spent considerable amount of time wracking my brain on a similar problem. the nearest i came to a solution was when i used a forms personalisation. mind you, forms personalisation will not work directly on the DFF window, so it has to be approached in a roundabout sort of way.
i got this information from an Oracle Support personnel - MOS Note 1078348.1.
i would start with the flexfield segment as "not required", and then using Forms Personalization, i would make it "required". i would try to figure out how to establish a condition where the previous 'required' flexfield segment's value is checked to see if this 'not required' segment needs to be made 'required'. in theory, this should solve the issue. i gave up on it because the forms personalisation would need to cover WHEN-VALIDATE trigger event, and we had close to 100 validations going on through other preexisting forms personalisations, which rendered it near impossible to employ this method.

Unable to filter LookupSet values based on another Lookup value

Hey all, I've got a report item where I'm pulling a list of values using a lookupset. The lookupset is working as expected, however I need to filter those results based on a different value which belongs to the same dataset as the lookup value. I'm trying
to filter on the tablix but nothing I try is working to filter. I just end up with no data when I know I should be getting one value. I tried filtering using a lookup and lookupset expression but that doesn't seem to be what is needed. This is my first time
really diving into lookups so any help would be appreciated.

Do you only want the values where type = "Writing Assignment 1". If that is the case then modify your LookupSet as follows:

This will require that identifier matches student and type matches "Writing Assignment 1".

F4 help based on another column value in SM30

Hi All,
I have two fields in the view to maintain in SM30. The second field possible values are dependent on the first field value.
View has two fields - Feild1, Field2.
Field2 value table is varied based on what is filled in Field1.
I have created POV for the field F2 in the screen directly.
PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
FIELD ZVIEW-Field2 MODULE f4_field2.
When I click on new entries, i do not have access to the value ZVIEW-FIELD1.
I can manage for the existing records as the data exists in standard internal table TABLE. But for the new ones, can any one please let me know their ideas?

No, it works very well, I guess you didn't code it correctly. By the way you must also get the cursor position to determine the line of the current table control:

Change LOV based on another field value

I have a need to change the LOV of a page item's select list based on the selection in another page item's select list. So in other words, for a page item that is a select list, I need to use one LOV normally, and a different LOV if the value of a different page item is set to X.
A dynamic action would be useful here (on change where Select List 1 = x), but I don't know how to take the action of changing LOVsfor Select List 2 based on that action.

Good question. Here is more detail. 2 page items are involved here - P23_GEAR and P23_GEAR_TYPE. Normally, my SELECT for my LOV for the page item P23_GEAR is:

So if Page Item P23_GEAR_TYPE = 3, then I have to use a different query for the P23_GEAR page item. And this one is dependent on 2 other page items.
Where do customers come up with these things?!!!

How to re-calculate a column value based on another column value in the same ADF Table row

Hi,
I'm using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.
I have an adf table with 2 columns, columnA and columnB.
When the value changed in ColumnA,
1) i need to call a PLSQL and update the ColumnB value that is returned from PLSQL.
2) Show a warning message if the existing value in ColumnB is different from the one that is returned from PLSQL.
Can anybody suggest how can i accomplish this?

if you have inputtext means have a valuechangelistener
in that call your pl/sql function supply input value to the appropriate function then grab the result of the function. then bind the column inputtext and compare with it. then raise your warning using FacesMessage classes.

How to populate a column value dynamically based on org id value

Hi,
I have two columns in a table program_id and org_id,
I need to populate program_id = 1 for org_id = 100
I need to populate program_id = 2 for org_id = 101
for populating org_id i am using "fnd_profile.value('ORG_ID')". This is working fine. But when i decode doe program_id it is not working.
below is the samle control fille i am using.
into table ap_credit_card_trxns_all

AFAIK, you cannot use multiple WHEN clauses in your control file.

Parameter Field Value Elimination Based on Another Parameter

I'd like to make 3 grouping parameters with static values to produce 3 drop downs in the user prompt. The problem is, I'd like for the second drop down to eliminate the choice made from the first drop down and the third drop down to have been eliminated to only one choice. Is there a way to edit the parameter field values from the formula workshop?...Or maybe this would be better handled in the group selection formula area. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Can't be done unless you use one of the 3rd-party Crystal viewers listed at http://kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html
A simpler approach is to have a record selection formula that causes no records to be retrieved if 2 parameters have the same selected value. You can then unsuppress a text object telling the user their parameter selections can't be the same.

Hiding Subform based on another field value which is not in Layout

Hi,
I tried using Formcalc for hiding a subform like below.
if ($record.BLOCK04.GT_ITEM_LEV1_910.DATA[].GT_ITEM_LEV2_910.DATA[].KDMAT == null)
$.presence = "hidden"

My subform is Flowed, Western text
When i run it, its not working..so i hided using context condition like if there is no value in KDMAT, do not pass it to Layout...Now it's working..My problem is, when there is no vaue, it is leaving BLANK LINE in the print out..a gap is there for that row.
Please help me how to avoid the EMPTY/ BLANK LINE??
