Urgent - Repeated Attribute Corruption
I've been having the same issue for a week now. One of my outline goes crazy with attributes appearing all over the place with no logic. It always happen within the same dimension.I called Hyperion support and it appeared to be a known bug on Essbase version 6.1 (the version I was on).So we switch to 6.1.2 which should have solved it but didn't. We then switched to 6.1.4, which worked for a while and then corrupted again. We change the versions on Server and Client side each time.Did anybody faced the same issue? Very Urgent - Transient attribute setting and getting problems

I am using a DFF to set date but since DFF can store only varchar data and I need date datatype for the same,
I have create a EO based on per_all_people_f table of HRMS.
Then I created a VO based on this EO and added a column to_date(substr(attribute11,1,10), 'RRRR/MM/DD') to get a date column so that I can display date calendar on my OAF page.
Then I created a page based on this VO and creaed a table region and selected this new column instead of attribute11 column.
A date field is diaplayed on the page but when I use calendar to set date for this field and try to get the value in processFormRequest, I get null instead of actual date.
Its really very urgent. I wadted lot of my time on this but could not find any solution.

Anyway, I have used Standard Date value set for attribute11 field but since datatype of the attribute field is 'VARCHAR2', in EO and hence in VO, it is taking datatype as VARCHAR2.

URGENT MessageTextInput Attributes
Hi all,
I'm trying to customize an existing page in the OA Framework. What I'm trying to do is add an messagetextinput field into an existing page and use that field to do some validation.
I've encountered a problem and can't seem to solve it. When I add the field within the Page Layout, there is no problem. I use findchildrecursive to get the field and then getvalue to get the value. However, if I add the field within a region (for example AccessRolesExtRN.AssignedCaseLayout) I always retrieve the default value, this means that if the initial value of the field is 12345, no matter how i change the field, getValue will always get 12345.
Is there documentation where I read up on all the attributes that can be set for a messagetextinput field or can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

HoweverI would suggest you to use a VO instead of reading data directly from beans.

Urgent -Encypted file corruption while reading/Writing

I am working on Encryption and Decryption using DES and ECB padding scheme. I am
encrypting a text file and storing the encrypted string in another dat file using
FileOutputStream.write(byte[]).We are storing the "Key" using ObjectOutputStream in another
dat file . Now the same file needs to be downloaded across network. we are doing so using a
servlet. The servlet uses RandomAccessFile.read(byte[] ,0,file.length()) to read the
encrypted as well as the Key file . This data is stored in a vector and sent to the Client
using the ObjectOutputStream.The Encrypted file is written using streams while downloading
into a dat file . When the same is decrypted, it gets corrupted . And if I simply copy And
Paste the files from Server to client instead of downloading on client it works.
Please help me out of the problem ..................

:) CheersYou will not get a warranty that your stream from the http server will be solid. You have to check the lenght of the data you've got from the server before you will decrypt it. I also use something like RetryBufferedStream to solve that problem (because stream from http may give you EOF just because of net timeout or bad connection).

I brought in my MBP to the Genius Bar a couple of months ago, when this spontaneous-restarting problem had been followed by it not starting at all. They did a diagnostic, and then took it for four days, only to return it to me completely wiped after that time with no explanation, other than that "a file" somewhere on my HD was causing corruption. The Genius told me not to restore any of the files that had been on it previously, and it would be fine.
Well, that makes perfect sense. But, I needed the files to be on my computer, and since I had no idea how to determine which file would be problematic, I decided to just restore from my last backup (from the previous October -- bad, but not the worst scenario) and hope for the best. Well, now this problem seems to be back, and I'm hoping to get some advice for how to help make it go away.
In the past couple months since I restored it, I've had it crash suddenly, causing me to have to hard-boot the machine, and when I run Verify Disk from Disk Utility, it fails and tells me to start-up from my Install disk and run Repairs to fix it. I do the closest thing I can to that, which is starting up my MBP in Target disk mode, and connect it to an iMac which runs Disk Repair on it, and then it appears to be fine, until the next time it crashes.
Now, the probem has progressed to suddenly restarting with no warning and no crash, mostly right after I turn it on, and then doing so a number of times in a row. The console message (I think?) generated from this event is as follows:

With absolutely no ability to read these kinds of things, I did notice that several of these messages in the console started with 'airportd[20]', or somethign like that. This makes me wonder if it could be a bad Airport card?
If anybody has any ideas on how this could be happening, I'd sure appreciate it. I keep taking evasive maneuvers (i.e. Disk Repair from a different machine), but the problem keeps coming back, sooner and sooner. I don't trust the Genius Bar to help me understand this, so I'm leaving it up to you folks.

Now when I have cerated one .JWS file and one .jpr under that.
Now when I tried to expand oracle.apps.irc.applicant.server it is giving the following error:

I think, the error was in the XSD definition and how I used those the information to build the XPath.

</xs:element>When I was creating the XML, I was using the element <UsuarioProyecto> to store the login value, for instance <UsuarioProyecto .....>DEMOUSUARIO</UsuarioProyecto>.
After this problem, I have been reading about XPath and I could have found any examples that it use the brackets with a XPath expression to find an element in a collection, the [] only allows to especific the index of an element in a collection to select a node.
Finally, I have rewritten the XSD and I have created another attribute for this element. Now, I can find the correct node with the XPath expression.

I have another question, but I am sure that the problem is mine also.
I create a XML based in the early XSD. This XML have a structure by levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. But after I have updated the XML using appendChildXML or updateXML SQL functions, the order in the document has changed in random order, for example 4,3,1,2.
How can I ensure the order in the xml???. I need to use the annotations maintainOrder and maintainDOM during the XSD registration process???.

Urgent help please - Corrupt zip archive.
Hello,
I have a corrupt zip file.
It was created using the built in zip application "BOMArchiveHelper" or whatever it is called... you know... by right clicking a folder and choosing "Create Archive..."
The zip file is 680.5mb big. I created it back in May, and this zip is the only copy of the contents I have. Stupid, yes!
Everytime I try and open it I get a message: "Unable to unarchive "**the file name here**" into "Desktop". (Error 1 - operation not permitted.)".
I have tried other directories too.
I have tried using two 3rd party programs (Stuffit and Zipeg) to uncompress it. No luck..
Those two programs come up with the error sraight away, however whe I do it through the finder it seems like it is uncompressing and only comes up with the error right at the end.
Any suggestions? How can I open it or recover the data within it?

You might have to spend some money if you want to get the files back. There should be some open-source zip repair tools available on Linux or perhaps Windows.
At one time, I had a fairly large number of archived files in zip format. I noticed that I started getting a low, but noticeable, failure rate. I immediately switched to using DMG files and have never had a problem. Now, I virtually never use zip files. I have tried to tell this information to some people who have publicly touted the "benefits" of zip files, but they laughed at me. One day, they will be crying too. -
Urgent help. Corrupted files after power outage

we are in desperate need for some help. We have a G5 system with two fully loaded xserve raids all striped together as one unit. We just had a power out and no backup installed while doing a copy procedure with the array to a backup disk. After some time of restarting and shutting down we got the xserve back up and running and are just trying to finish the backup procedure. BUT - while coming back up the xserve raid has still some folder structures and files which seem corrupter while the backup was running. We have working copies of the files, but the xserve raid wont let us delete the damaged files. Even in the Command shell or terminal window we can't delete the files. We don't want to risk going on with the raid system with these corrupted files on it. Does anybody know what to do about the files and if there is any way to delete them. Also - does any disk repair software support the xserve raids or even apples disk repair utility? Anyone any idea. We need to get this puppy up and running tonight, so anything would help.

PeteYeah, I certainly have some compassion for your situation Gorilla... What you are experiencing is corruption at the file system level, so as other have recommended, your best bet is to use the best file system repair utility (i.e. Disk Warrior, etc.) you can get (sorry I don't have a lot of experience with these). You'll probably lose some files, but the utility should be able to get the file system back into shape so that normal file system commands work (add, delete, etc.).
Because this is a typical problem, I'll quickly explain what happened. I'm guessing you're running your Xserve RAID's with the disk caches enabled (yields best performance). Unfortunately this makes the system very vulnerable to power loss. If the power is lost, all the data in the disk caches is also lost (nothing can be done about this except to put the enclosure on a UPS). If not using a UPS, then it's advisable to disable the disk caches (and also ensure you are using batteries to backup the controller caches). -
I am having recurring keychain issues. I have had " login keychain not found" issues and have used keychain first aid to fix it but the problem seems to recur about weekly and all of my passwords are lost. Curve 8320 corrupts OS periodically and then cannot boot (blinking LED only)
I have a T-Mobile BB Curve 8320 that I've had for about 9 months, and I have what appears to be a recurring problem.
Three times now, the phone has corrupted its OS, and it will not boot. Each time it does it, the symptoms are first the phone is non responsive, and just shows the spinning hourglass cursor. The last time it did it while in the Mail app, which is the one I use almost exclusively. The phone appears to lock up, showing the wait cursor indefinitely. This time I waited a half hour, and it was clear that it wasn't coming back. So I pushed the power button, and it shut down the phone. But then when I tried to turn it back on, the screen never came up, and it just blinked the red LED "forever." (It was about 18-20 hours before I got around to trying to reload it.) The first time this happened was when the phone was running the OS version it shipped with, which I think was 4.3, but I don't recall. But now it has done it twice while running 4.5.0.81, which is the OS distribution T-Mobile makes available for the Curve.
The first two times it did it, I used the application loader to wipe the device and reload the OS. When in this state, BB desktop manager doesn't see the device since it can't boot. But if you click through to the application loader, you can get it to load. (Or you can run the application loader outside of BB desktop manager)
This time, the application loader started up, offered the choice of what to load, and then proceeded into the next phases. Erasing the device succeeds, as does the next phase where it loads the OS. But then it gets to where it is loading application modules, with a progress bar for each module and one for the overall progress. It got halfway through the overall progress, and failed with an "unspecified error", suggesting to try again. I tried it three times, and it failed the same way each time.
After calling T-Mobile, they bounced me over to RIM, and the first guy had me go through the app loader again with the same result. When he started pursuing USB connectivity issues, I asked to speak to someone else. (There are other devices on this system, both mass storage and input, and none of them ever show connectivity issues. )
The second tech had me rerun the application loader, but this time only select the core OS, leaving out all the apps. This succeeded, and then he had me rerun it, loading the rest of the applications. This also succeeded.
But the problem I still have is this. There is no explanation why the phone corrupts itself every couple of months, or why loading the OS and the applications in one step failed to work _repeatedly_. I believe the device has a bad memory address, and the two step OS load simply danced around it. And it is that which is causing the phone to corrupt its own OS to the point that it cannot boot.
The tech tried to pass of the corruption due to loading third party applications, and while I can accept that a rogue application can corrupt memory locations that it has the ability to write to, I don't know if the BB OS/device uses any form of protected memory, or if apps are essentially unrestrained. The only third party applications I load on this are the Google app, with Gmail, and Opera Mini.
To be honest, if the BB OS is that fragile that I can't even load these two applications on it, I'll be trading it for a different email capable phone.
Anyway, I'm looking to find if anyone else has a phone that repeatedly gets corrupted so it can't boot, and requires a complete reload. Also, is there anyway to test the memory on the phone? I'm going to call T-Mobile back and try to get them to swap my phone, because I can't afford to spend three hours on the phone with tech support every couple of months when my phone dies.

But over the time my phone corrupting itself has happened, I've upgraded from BB OS 4.3 to 4.5, which required an update to Desktop Manager, and following that I upgraded to a new computer. So I've changed computers, BB Desktop software, and BB OS software, and the problem has happened across all of those changes.
You should have been able to restore the OS even if it was corrupt. Desktop Manager won't recognize the device if it won't boot, but application loader will still find it. But since then I've found I can just access application loader via BB Desktop Manager and do the same thing. I did notice when my OS reload kept failing this last time, that using application loader directly showed more of the failure message. It still wasn't anything useful, but when I reran the reload via Desktop Manager, I recognized the error was the same, but noted that I didn't see all of the output of the standalone application loader. -

When I login as a Buyer (with role ZTSX_EC_BBP_PURCHASER - copy of SAP_EC_BBP_PURCHASER), I get the foll. error while trying to Process Purchase Orders:

The buyer is in the org. plan and I have checked the attributes and they seem ok.
What could be the issue ???

Answer: Return the CD.
Or did you mean this was an album you bought from iTunes, in which case it really isn't a "CD" (which is a hard, plastic, shiny disc) and I'm at risk of getting confused. If it is a corrupt file that you downloaded, delete the file and try downloading it again.

Client is reading the Oracle Teleservice Implementation & User Guide Ver 12.1 Page 43-6 Para 7 - "You can use the same extensible attribute architecture to capture additional information for database objects other than service requests"). Client wants to know exactly what is extensible attribute architecture?
Is this the same as setting up descriptive flexfields? If no, what is extensible attribute architecture and how does client set this up?

Like in Oracle Forms, we have DFFs to add additional attributes to a standard Form, simialarly for OA Framework pages, Oracle provides (via a new architecture) an unlimited number of attributes that can be added to that OA Framework pages. These attributes are called Extensible Attributes. e.g. You can add extensible attributes in the TeleService module to entities like Service Request, Customer and Associated Party. Oracle claims that the same new architecture can be used to extend any database object.
Client wants to use these Extensible Attributes in Oracle Loans module. I posted this to the Loans forum and development suggested I post to Telesales forum as they are not aware of extensible attribute architecture.

Extensibility framework and features comes from Oracle Product Lifecycle Management (EGO), it is not a functionality created by Teleservice. Teleservice only uses the extensibility framework. There are other EBS modules that use extensibility framework like, for example, TCA or OCO.
Extensible Attributes are similar to DFF's in the sense that Extensible Attributes feature provides out-of-the box capability to store additional information associated with certain EBS modules entities.
The functionality allows you to view and maintain these additional attributes without having to create custom screens. It also allow you to group related attributes and display attributes on specific UI pages.
Some of the features are:
Limited to certain EBS modules entities.
Attributes can be displayed as text, check box or radio group.
Database view is created for each attribute group.
Uses Value Set for attribute validation.
Extensible Attributes store unlimited number of repeating attributes (multiple rows of similar data), unlike Descriptive Flexfields.

Extensible entities have corresponding tables to store additional attributes.

For TCA you have HZ_PARTY_SITES_EXT_B, HZ_LOCATIONS_EXT_B, etc.
If customer wants to use Extensible Attributes in Oracle Loans then you need to check with Loans Development to see if they implemented or not Extensibility framework.
