Hi all,
I sorted the topics but i could not find any answer to my question. In q swing component like a JTextField, i can't input turkish characters ( like '?',S with a point). How can i found the turkish font, or must i sat the locale. Thanks...

On a Windows NT (I do not know about XP), you can use the command
chcp <code page number>
for displaying and setting the active code page number. For Turkey the code page number is 857.

Of course you should set suitable fonts for the command line window.
As "System.out" is an OutputStream, not a Writer, it has no relation with encodings for Read/Write of Strings. First try a file output with a suitable encoding.

I'm assuming you clicked on the color patch besides the word <Character> to open the color picker window.
At the right side of this window there is a vertical bar that has 2 horizontal black lines at the bottom.
This is actually a slider. Pull it upwards with the color picker and color will appear in the window.

Problem with focus and selecting text in jtextfield

I have problem with jtexfield. I know that solution will be very simple but I can't figure it out.
This is simplified version of situation:
I have a jframe, jtextfield and jbutton. User can put numbers (0-10000) separated with commas to textfield and save those numbers by pressing jbutton.
When jbutton is pressed I have a validator which checks that jtextfield contains only numbers and commas. If validator sees that there are invalid characters, a messagebox is launched which tells to user whats wrong.
Now comes the tricky part.
When user presses ok from messagebox, jtextfield should select the character which validator said was invalid so that user can replace it by pressing a number or comma.
I have the invalid character, but how can you get the focus to jtextfield and select only the character which was invalid?
I tried requestFocus(), but it selected whole text in jtextfield and after that command I couldn't set selected text. I tried with commands setSelectionStart(int), setSelectionEnd(int) and select(int,int).
Then I tried to use Caret and select text with that. It selected the character I wanted, but the focus wasn't really there because it didn't have keyFocus (or something like that).
Is there a simple way of doing this?

I faced a problem when opened ANSI file with CYRILLIC in ECC 6.0 Unicode system - the system cuts the line to 250 characters. Below is snip of code:

OPEN DATASET file FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.

        WRITE: / len, line.
ENDWHILE.
CLOSE DATASET file.
In this case, variable LEN always get value 250. File-content is correctly converted from ANSI and all CYRILLIC is displayed to the screen. I changed type for LINE - initialy the type was STRING, actially.
Further, tried to open it in BINARY - like this:

In this case I got bigger linesize (obviously 1024), but faced conversion issues - the file contains some CYRILLIC and it is messed. Played for few hours with conversions - using additions: IN LEGACY BINARY MODE... BIG/LITTLE ENDIAN, CODE PAGE... without success. So decided to ask...

Could someone points me what am I doing wrong? How can I read my ANSI file with line-size more than 250 chars? Actually, in my case line size may vary up to 1800 chars. Further, afrer conversion and some validation, I should save it back to the AS.

Unable to type text in Text Frame

After I draw a text box on my first page, I am unable to add text to it.
There is nothing else on the that page, but the blinking cursor never shows up no matter how many times I click on the text frame.
I checked for preflight errors, there is none.
All these happen only on the first page. The other pages are fine.
Im still new to Adobe In Design, so I need your help!

HT4528 i upgraded from an iphone to a Samsung galaxy and now i am unable to receive text messages now from iphone users.the iphones think that my number is still another iphone and always sends a message as imessage.

You should have turned iMessage off before disabling the phone. Do you still have the phone so you can turn iMessage off? If not, you will need to go to Apple support on their website and delete the product from your profile.

Polish , turkish text not decoding in the alert boxes in JSP file

Currently I am working on application in the J2ee development perspective in NWDI and this contains many Jsp pages.As per the business requirement we need to make this application support Polish and turkish languages , for this we have maintained properties files .
I have encoded the polish and turkish text using the u201CHTML Unicode format encodingu201D hence when checked the url in the IE with Polish and turkish locale all the characters are getting decoded properly ,but i have a proplem with the text in the alert boxes i.e. the special characters in the text displayed in the alert boxes is not getting decoded at all eg:"Wprowadź numer konta BP" whereas it has to display as "Wprowadź numer konta BP:
Also i have used java encode also to achieve the same and for this "?" is getting displayed i.e. it is not getting properly decoded.
I have also used native2ascii method in this also it is getting decoded but not correctly i.e. "?" is displayed
Please note that the alert boxes are written in the script tag in the JSP page.
Request you to kindly help me in resolving the issue at the earliest as this is a very critical issue in my project now.

We had a similar problem in one of my projects, but what i remember is we have kept the ascii value for that character directly in the properties files and tried to encode it, this way i resolved my problem.

How to highlight text in JTextField?

You have to add a FocusListener in the JTextField and override the focusGained() method to select all the text with JTextField.selectAll().

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

I'm unable to copy text out of an ADE book.

Recently bought a new Windows PC and transferred all files to it from my old one. Installed ADE successfully, gave it my authorization ID and all is well. I'm able to open the book I'm interested in and browse all through it. But I'm unable to copy text out of it. I highlight the text in the book and when I either right-click or pull down the Edit menu, the Copy function is grayed out and clicking on it does nothing. Ctrl-C also doesn't do anything. Iam unable to highlight text in my PDF files ,The tool shows in the toolbar and i am able to select it .But when i go to the related text which i wish to highlight ,nothing happens . kindly advise, what am i doing wrong. The comment tool is working fine , and i am able to put text comments in the box.But i need to highlight certain text also.
.I am using Adobe reader version 10.1. I reinstalled the program two times but still the highlight tool does not works .

May be that the PDF files doesn't contain any text. What did you get when you use File > Save As > Text...

Unable to enter text in popup window

Hi,
I am new to OATS OpenScript. I am unable to enter text in the popup window.
Here's my situation in detail:
My application is in Oracle Siebel and the pop up is a webpage dialog.
When I click on the Button in Siebel application, the webpage dialog pops up and there is a text box and a Submit button.
When I was recording, I was unable to record the webpage dialog as it was not identified by Openscript recorder.
Hence, I recorded the webpage seperately and the standalone scripts runs fine. It is able to navigate to the page and enter the text in textbox and click submit button.
Now I am trying to integrate those Webpage XPath in my existing script but it fails to recognize the webpage or the textbox from the popup webpage dialog.
Has anyone able to figure out how to record the popup windows using OATS OpenScript? Please help.

Issue while converting turkish text in PDF via SMARTFORMS

Hello Experts ,
We are currently involved in translating an application to Turkish. Though the translation is completely done, when we test the issue we find that the application is working perfectly with the Turkish text but the transfer of data from application to the PDF via SMARTFORM is not working correctly. We find that the issue is due to 3 characters in Turkish which are (Ğ,İ,ş), We found out that this issue can be resolved using the OSS Note 625818.
However we have another issue which has cropped up.
Wherever certain characters are being printed the characters right after them are printing at the same location and thus overlapping.
For eg:
Whenever the character u201CIu201D is printed it is being overlapped by the character which is supposed to be printed after it instead of printing next to it.
Should be - İN
Currently - both are overlapping
Any idea on how can this be fixed?
when I actually tried to copy the text from PDF and paste it in this email the character u201CIu201D is replaced by the character u201CÝu201D in this email text box.
Please find below the actual text from the PDF. The u201C u201D is seen nowhere and is replaced by the u201CÝu201D.

we have found a solution for the same which is to give a tab space between the İ and N but this will lead to unnecessery space in the application.

We cannot print some characters as such, so try converting it to string or char then go for PDF.
