URGENT - Webutil
Dear Folks,
Advanced wishes of Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Our Goal is to export data using Webutil to a pre-formatted Excel Spreadsheet, yes the Formatting is Essential.
So, we have Templates of Excel Workbooks onto which we want to load data using Oracle Forms.
Now, the standard code that is available uses a 'SaveAs' which destroys all formatting from Excel.
So, the question is, has anyone had a problem like this and can give me a solution either
1) A way for Webutil to write to a pre formatted Spreadsheet and preserve the formatting.
OR
2) Format it 'on the fly', like as a Cell Value is written, is it possible to make the Background colour 'Red' and the Foreground BOLD etc?

I'll give an example, assume that I have an Microsoft Excel Workbook with a Sheet which has got its first row as Headings and then rest as Data rows.
Lets say the all columns in the Headings row have a GREY Background and are in Bold, assume at the start I have no rows of data, just the Heading.
Thats my Excel Template file, what I want to do is to load data from Oracle Forms using WebUtil into this template file, with the Oracle Forms retrieving the data from the database.
By default, the code I've seen and tested Overwrites an Excel spreadsheet, this means I'd lose the Heading's Grey background and Bold.
How do I retain it, any ideas?
Give me a shout if more info is needed.

DejanA machine of Oracle9iAS must be powerful, I guess! I have 512MB RAM, only, and a recommendation is 1GB at least. It works slowly, but that's only a test environment. I have strong servers in my company, so the most significant thing at the moment is that webutil concept works. That is the basic reason for migration from 6i, but not the only one. Now I need a library of properties for the word and excel invoking, for a complete settings of any document or worksheet. If someone has something similar, please send me! Jacob.jar Help/Webutil Error-Urgent Help Needed
We are not using any OLE object in forms.But after implementation on WEBUTIL the browser starts giving below error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:com/jacob/com/ComFailException
Can anyone help ?
Is jacob.jar is required to download even if we don't need it.

Jacob.jar and Webutil.jar singing problem(URGENT)
I read the instructions 'Configuring the webutil' and I found that there is not a reference in the file 'signer.properties' which is referenced in the on-line help of Forms Developer (step 4).
The problem is that when i try to sign the 2 jar files 'frmwebutil , jacob'
using this command

after this command a essage appears:
Genrating self signing certificate for key=webutil2...
Keytool error :java .lang.execption:key pair not genrated ,alias <webutil2> already exists
there were wanings or error while genrating a self singing certifciate . please review them.

'jarsigner' is not recognized as an internal or external command.
Is there a chance that the cause of this problem is that there is not the file 'signer.properties'?

Urgent! form with webutil works with IAS but not with the 9iDS
I'm configuring a standalone PC on which i can run forms as if they were running with an IAS. Now we have a form which uses webutil. This form runs fine in our IAS-environment, but fails on the standalone PC.
On the standalone machine I'm using 9ids (9.0.2) to run this form. When the form is started I'm getting an error: FRM-40734 Internal error PL/SQL error occurred. This is caused by calls to the webutil-routines client_win_api_environment.get_windows_username and client_win_api_environment.get_computer_name
(When I comment out these calls, the form doesn't return an error)

I hope anyone can help me with this problem. I0m getting a bit desperate.....I've tried your suggestion and the newly created form works on both environments (the standalone PC with the iDS and the "normal" evironment with an IAS). Then I added another button to this newly created form with the code "message(client_win_api_environment.Get_Windows_username);"
This also works in the new form. Then I added some debugging code to the webutil.pll and discovered that when I use the above code in the new form everything is ok, but when I use the call client_win_api_environment.Get_Windows_username the following exception is raised in the gew_windows_username-procedure: CLIENT_WIN_API.NOT_AVAILABLE
I've compared the newly created form with the original from and can't discover major differences between the two forms. Do you have another idea where to look?

#1 No, when i run other forms, i don't have any problem.
#2 i just added the simple webutil call as given in the webutil documentation. i did all the necessary steps and then when i try to execute the form i am getting this error.
#3 the problem appears at startup, when i try to execute the form using the url in Internet explorer

then i get that error message and nothing happens after that,

I 'm working with 9iAS R2 on Linux.
I'm testing the webutil by using a my test form.
Give that in OS Windows 2000 the test form works fine.
On Linux, I compile the form without problem, but when I run the form on web I have this error :

How Do I do recompile the pll on Linux?? The environment development doesn't exist on Linux !!
I open my form in environment development on Win 2000, after I attach the pll without the path and save all.
After I move all on linux and compile the form useing 'f90genm.sh'. Until this step I don't have problem, the form compiled fine, but
when I running it, I show the error message FRM-40039 .......
Do I mistake something ???
I working on DB ver 7.0.2 and I can't produce the file PLX

I used to GET_FILe_NAME in Forms6 to open a file dialog. Since Forms 9i doesn't support that I downloaded WebUtil
following the WebUtil Familiarization Manual.
My form appears ok. But once Client_Get_File_name is invoked, I got WUC-015: Your From must contain the following Bean for this function to be available.
Following the resolution for WUC-15, I dragged the WebUtil objects into the object group of myForm. Once I start running myForm, I would get the Oracle9iAS Forms Services Oracle9iAS Release 2 window, then on the status bar: Applet initialized and then
error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/jacob/com/ComFailException
I spent hours trying to find out but still the same thing... Could you please help?
Thanks a lot!Certain parts of WebUtil are platform independent - CLIENT_HOST for example - whereas other parts can only run on Windows - CLIENT_WIN_API and CLIENT_OLE2.
However, if I understand correctly your set up correctly, you have a Unix server but windows clients, so that is not a problem. WebUtil is run on the client, it doesn't care what type of server you have.
JACOB can't run on Unix because it uses COM and COM is a Microsoft proprietary standard. You can't run JACOB on Unix on Unix for the same reason you can't run Word on Unix. In fact, you need to run JACOB on Unix precisely because you can't run Word on Unix.

Problem while configuring webutil on oracle application server 10g(9.0.4)

I have configured webutil with oracle application server 10g(9.0.4).JInitiator 1.3.1.17 is installed.
I did everything according to webutil manual.Then i developed a form using developer suit 10g (9.0.4).
and successfully compiled and attached webutil library.then i subclass
webutil object group from webutil.olb into my form,that is also
subclassed successfully.Form has also been compiled and saved
successfully.
also configured my formsweb.cfg,forms90.conf,default.env according to webutil documentation.

Access Violation while initialising WEBUTIL on Ora9iDS
Hello,
as part of an urgent evaluation I installed WEBUTIL as described in the documentation, did the additional steps described in the readme and added WEBUTIL as described to an existing form. Now the form raises an access violation error while executing trigger WHEN-CUSTOM-ITEM-EVENT on item WEBUTIL.WEBUTIL_FILETRANSFER_FUNCTIONS exactly when calling procedure WEBUTIL_CORE.CustomEventHandler while registering the beans.
Did anybody experience the like? Any guess what's going wrong or what could help?

the crash occurs before I try to do anything vital. There is some init stuff in the form (initialising items, global variables etc.), query execution for initial displaying of database entries and a sychronize statement. After that the triggers in the WEBUTIL section fire, as I understand to initialise the beans (registering). As part of this registering the crash occurs - before I call any of the WEBUTIL functionality from my own code. -

i got assignment from company and its very urgent
i want to change coffee cup of browser window...i m trying to use webutil, i have done following things
1.I have developer suit 9.0.4
2.I have Jinitiator1.3.1.17
3.download and unzip webutil_106 in forms90 folder
4.adding frmwebutil.jar in forms90_BUILDER_CLASSPATH
5.Create single virtual directory in orion web.xml and in forms90.config file
6.add frmwebutil.jar in formsweb.cfg and replace webutil.htm files e.g bashtml,basehtmljinitiater,basehtmljpi.
7.webutil entries in envirmnent file
8.attatch liabray webutill.pll with my form,
9. open webutil.olb and copy it into object group
10.create timer at when new_form_instance
11.on timer expiratation using following code
if WEBUTIL_SEPARATEFRAME.IsSeparateFrame then
WebUtil_SeparateFrame.SetTitle('DTS');
webUtil_SeparateFrame.SetIcon('execute.gif');
and restart oc4j
but problem is still comming when timer expire i got following message
oracle.forms.webutil.browserFunctions bean not found

forms is running fine but when we press the button to open dialog for image file an error has been generated as under
oracle.forms.webutil.file.filefunction bean not found.
WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG_INT will not work
i think some think is missing in configuraion file need help on urgent basis

Qaiser Hassan AwanI faced the same problem, I think the frmwebutil.jar could not be downloaded to you client machine, so I modified the archive_jini to be as follows
archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
assuming that frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar are located in folder on your ORACLE_HOME/forms/java
don't know exactly why but I think the
WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
could not be seen, so I had to put it in the archive_jini parameter

Problem with JInitiator!!! - Urgent
I have Windows 2000 Advanced Server with 4GB RAM and Oracle9iASR2. I'm running Forms&Reports9i services quite well. Now, I have a demand for using OLE integration and for WebUtil purpose I have to install Jinitiator 1.3.1.13, for instance. But when I start a Jinitiator installation, I just see an error message 111 which is telling me that I don't have enough memory, that I must release memory by killing some running application (no matters which one) and then repeat the installation procedure. At that moment I have about 3.8 GB free memory, at least!It's the same problem with some differrent version of Jinitiator. What's the problem? How can I bypass this? Please, help me, this is very urgent!
DejanDid you try a reboot of the client?
Also, can you post a full error message , it sounds like this is coming from Windows...
