Urgent: YouTube videos crashing Muse - part 2

i apologise for starting a new thread on an existing topic but i really think its more urgent than acknowledged.
Youtube videos will crash Muse if loaded on Lightbox Display comp. Its not sufficient to load one or two videos into the lightbox. It will take several videos before Muse crashes. Once Muse has crashed it will crash more regulary until it's difficult to place even one video into the lightbox. It seem like Muse can't digest the embed code because after it has crashed and relaunched it will attempt to finish loading the video, sometimes it can, sometimes it can't and sometimes it just crashes again in the effort.
Vimeo on the other hand is not a problem. I can load 10 vimeo videos one after the other and they all play perfectly.
In both tests i used new sites and fresh pages. I downloaded (tried) YT at 480 x 360 and 640 x 360 checking only the privacy box and adding autoplay (&autoplay=1). I downloaded Vimeo videos at their default sizes and only checked autoplay. I load the embeds via Object/Insert HTML.
I'm on WIN 8 and 7, i7s. Using Muse CC v7.2 Build 232, CL 779928. Air Runtime: 4.0.0.1390. My default browser is Chrome. However, same problem with ie10.
It's very definately YouTube specific, as I thought!

THANK YOU! I didn't understand the youtube no poster mul ib but once I downloaded it and started playing around with it, it worked!
I was so discouraged, since the website I created was for my videoagraphy company and all we have is YOUTUBE videos!! (Major painic!) but after taking the time to look into it it worked great!
I also didnt have any problem changing the size or costumizing it.
Here is what I did.
I downloaded the http://lancetest01.businesscatalyst.com/assets/youtube---no-poster.mul ib
Thing and uploaded it to my 'Library' in Muse,
I then took the 'blank' composition and edit the 'targets to' the size I wanted and inserted the 'posters' (in my case screen shots of the video.
Then clicked 'show all while editing'
I dragged and dropped the youtube - no - poster thing from my library and added the player into my lightbox composition.
and Et'viola!
I have a big library of video on my website. If anyone is curious here it is www.barrosproductionfilms.com
the youtube no poster thing is added in the 'Gallery' section.
Just to Clarify, I hope MUSE fixes this 'bug' problem, like others in this forum we are paying for a service to use MUSE and have all of the assets work, especially from one so big like youtube videos.
Thank you again and I hope this works for others!

  • Urgent: youtube videos crashing Muse

this feels very like the problem last summer with YouTube videos (i haven'nt tried Vimeo). Entering HTML code into the composition Lightbox display will crash Muse. Is anyone looking into it? Please and thank you.

Okay, several hours later, I've found a workaround. I've tried so many different things, I gave up taking careful notes, so I'm not really sure if I finally got the four YouTube videos loaded by luck or by actually figuring something out. But I did find what I think might be a workaround that I would suggest trying if anyone else is having this problem.
    Here goes:
    1. I had been able to get the videos to load on the Muse desktop version of my website a week before (with about a dozen crashes, but with lots of patience). So, I used these sucessfully embedded videos as a point of entry for getting the embed codes instead of by accessing the YouTube videos by first going on my YouTube channel. I accessed the videos by opening the file in Muse and previewing the page where the videos had successfully embeded by using the "preview page in browser" option in Muse.
    2. I then clicked on the YouTube symbol on the bottom right of the frame aka "watch on YouTube.com". So this took me to the actual YouTube site where the video resides.
    3. I then clicked on share, then embed. Here's where it got interesting!  I suddenly saw different embed options this way than I had by accessing the video directly from my YouTube channel, even though in both situations I clicked on share and then on embed.
One of the options that wasn't availble when I accessed the video directly from my YouTube channel was to "use old embed code." So I selected that, and I selected "Enable privacy-enhanced mode." But I think I left the "Show suggested videos when the video finishes" option unselected, although I'm not sure if that was the case on each of the four videos. (Sorry, I'd been working on this for several hours and stopped taking notes.) Anyway, this generated a much longer embed code that I'd been getting before.
    4. I did not use the Muse YouTube wiget to embed the video. (That had been causing Muse to crash, and it only takes the video ID, anyway.) Instead, I clicked on "insert HTML" and pasted in the full embed code from YouTube.
    5. I have no idea why this worked, and I'm not even sure if it was the "use old embed code" that worked the first time. Maybe selecting other options would work. But I'm sure that using the old embed code is what did work for the 3rd and 4th videos that I embeded. It's what I would suggest to anyone if Muse is crashing when they are trying to insert a YouTube video.
Is it possible the problem was in my computer and this was simply a workaround for that? Absolutely.

  • Blocked Plug In when trying to embed a Youtube video in Muse

I copied the HTML code of a Youtube video that I'd like to embed in my website, and when I pasted it into my Muse layout, I got a "Blocked Plug In" message. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

Could you please check this thread and see if that helps

  • Loading youtube videos crashes my browser - both mozilla firefox and safari. Now I can't get firefox to load any page, although safari still works. It started when I clicked on a youtube link on FB 2 weeks ago. Any ideas, anyone?

youtube is crashing my browser - both firefox mozilla and safari. Now I cannot load firefox browser at all, but safari still works - except for youtube, which immediately crashes it....any ideas, anyone?

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

  • Embedding a YouTube Video utilizing HTML Insert Crashes Muse Repeatedly

Just today I have noticed when embedding a YouTube Video in Muse that it has begun crashing repeatedly. I cannot get the video to stay embedded to finish this project. Is there a bug or a work-around?
    Thank you.

Please try using YouTube embed code with the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option checked. It appears this crash is being triggered by recent changes in how YouTube's embed code works. At least early evidence indicates turning the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option on when creating the embed code appears to change the behavior of the embed code enough to avoid triggering this crash within Muse.
If you do try this, please report back to let us know whether or not setting this option enables you to avoid this crash. Thanks.

  • Trying to embed a youtube video and my site keeps crashing.  what's up?????

Why is my Youtube video crashing my site????

Okay, here is the answer ....
When you go to Youtube to get the embed code you have to now select the 'Enable Privacy-Enhanced Mode' - it used to be checked by default in Youtube

No crash reports have ben submitted as I was not able to get back to my desktop without re booting my PC as I was in full screen mode and Alt-Tab allowed me to tab through open applications they did not actually switch to the fore ground leaving me with the cideo paused at the point Firefox crashed.
I was able to see the firefox has crashed window whilst Alt-Tabbing but not able to switch to it.
I was watching this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05x1Jk4rT1A youtube video in full screen mode. when firefox crashed.
I have been experiencing this a lot on my old Ubuntu installation but put it down to possible conflicts with other installed software or installed plugins. In fact I got so frustrated with this that I switched to using Google Chrome which had no issues like this whatsoever.
However I thought I would give Firefox another go on a fresh installation to see if anything had improved.
I have read many posts and seen plenty of reports of this issue but sadly no solutions go back through lots of versions of Firefox.
I'm using the default open source video drivers.
I'm going to go back to using Google Chrome as it is far more sxtable so there is no urgency to resolving this issue but maybe you can find some solution to this seemingly common problem as I have a bit of a soft spot for Firefox and am kinda sad that this issue still exists after all this time.
I am happy to try things out if it is of any help

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Firefox crashes when I load any youtube video on the latest version, it not only crashes firefox but my whole computer goes blank and I have to restart, why is this?

Backstory: There are two possible events that could be causing this
1: At some point I may have followed a ''Tinyurl' link that consquently lead me to a youtube video, to which youtube worked perfectly fine before hand, and this is where i witnessed the first crash. Theories into whether this link, previously stated, may have done something to my system have been thought about, but the fact that youtube still works on the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer seems to present the idea of a virus or an error redundant. I own the latest Macfee antivirus software and Ccleaner(running the registry check) and have run them complete with disc defragment and scan disc error recovery along with an additional malware scanner. Nothing seems to have come up on anything. After doing all this, my last resort was System restore and this seemed to solve the problem, mainly because i had an earlier version of firefox. therefore i resisted updating for aslong as possible whenever it told me to update. but the otherday i thought i'd risk it again thinking it may have been a problem alot of people have been having and it would of been fixed, but sadly it hasn't. this lead me to google the problem and was advised to start firefox on 'safe mode' as there may have been a confliction between add ons or plugins with youtube or some thing like that, but sadly that hasn't worked either. The plugins i had installed with it were the ones firefox has told me to get, or recommended and the only two addons i had on firefox was Adblock plus (fanboy subscrip) and Noscript.
Details of what actually happens: go to a youtube link, video loads for about 2 seconds(both video and audio), screen freezes, and flashes maybe once with some small lines across the bottom half of the screen horizontally towards the right corner, then the screen goes blank and makes my laptop dorment, but still running, thus I restart my system.
Sadly now when I system restore there isn't a point far back enough before this problem. So its either i downgrade(which seems to be the only option) or simply stop using firefox, as internet explorer works perfectly fine. however running firefox with no scrip and adblock plus is the ideal browser customisation, which is why this is rather annoying.
so number 1 was the tinyurl theory and i must admit i was abit foolish to follow such a random link, but whats happened has happened.
2: basically there is a major disfunction with the latest firefox that has to with the addons i have included onto firefox and this seems to be causing a terrible effect on my system.
in a nutshell: firefox worked perfectly before upgrading to the new firefox and before i followed this link, the rest of my system is completely normal and virus and error free or so it says, Other browsers seem to work also. safe mode does not cure the problem.
Running on a customised Dell laptop, which is pretty midrange-toprange and hasn't been active long, so it has the general HD video card thats included in all Studio 15 Dell laptops.
    any help appreciated.
    cheers.

  • Flash Crashes on EVERY YouTube video, Firefox 4, Firefox 3.6.x, Chrome, Everything.

Every single YouTube video will crash Adobe Flash, regardless of browser. I've gone from Firefox 3.6, to the beta/minefield? version of Firefox 4, and i've even tried Chrome. Regardless of browser, it will crash Adobe Flash. As you can understand this problem is exceptionally frustrating to me as my desktop computer has Firefox 3.6, with the same extensions and adobe flash installed with no issue whatsoever.
I have no changed anything to my system except for installing Microsoft Silverlight which I thought would've been the problem but sadly it didn't fix my issue after an uninstallation and cleaning of any registry entries with CCleaner.
I am currently on a clean install of firefox 4 with flash. It still crashes. I have no made any changes to my system. As far as I understand Adobe Flash has not updated their software within the last week, and if it has, my desktop computer has been regularly updating itself with no issues whatsoever.

I had the same problem. I solved it with reinstalling adoobe flash player.
