Feeling ashamed of buying a smartphone worth Rs.51,000 which can't play a youtube video in its stock browser.
Its a zippy task that can be done by a mobile worth Rs.5,100........

Google's Chrome browser is very well capable of doing what I want with ease....(on my iPhone)
But Apple's Safari browser(much praised) cant move a speck on it...

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). The answer to my problem was to change the DNS server number (should have done this first when the "playback error" persisted.:/). Take a screenshot of your original DNS number for future necessity, then change it to OpenDNS..or google DNS...I used google DNS...for complete & thorough instructions..follow this site:--> http://www.macinstruct.com/node/558

Safari is built-in to the iOS. It can't be deleted, but it can be hidden. Check Settings > Restrictions. If restrictions are enabled for Safari, Safari is disabled and its icon is removed from the Home screen. You cannot use Safari to browse the web or access web clips.

Newest version of firefox, and flash. Tried clearing cache. Been having this problem for a year or more.
No mater what I do, if I open a youtube video in firefox, my pc crashes. Black screen and I have to hit the manual reset button. No error report to send, no idea why this happens. It does not do it when using chrome.
Really irritating and going to cause me to give up on using firefox if I cannot find a solution soon.You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Can you check the Windows event log to see if that gives any clues about the Windows crashes if you get a BSOD? -

If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:

If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
