URI dialing changed Outlook contact card

Hello I have provided all the versioning info etc at the bottom of this post.
The issue we are experiences is as follows. Before enabling SIP URI dialing within our Jabber Client the contact details for a User would display the following fields
BusinessPhone = person's AD "telephoneNumber" field and the
Other = persons AD "ipPhone" field
This was accomplished by way of editing the following values in the jabber-config.xml file
 <Directory>
   <OtherPhone>ipPhone</OtherPhone>
   <BDIOtherPhone>ipPhone</BDIOtherPhone>
 </Directory>
After Updating the jabber-config.xml file to the one listed below, the following display problem is now occurring in Outlook contact Cards.
The person's Telephone number is being replaced by the SIP URI (See Screenshot)
Is there a way to have SIP URI dialing turned on but continue to show the proper phone numbers in the Outlook contact card? If so how is this accomplished?
Jabber for Windows = 10.5.0
Windows Version 7
UCM = 9.1.2.12900
IMP version = 9.1.1.419000
Our Jabber XML file looks like this
</Client>
<config version="1.0">
 <Options>
   <StartCallWithVideo>false</StartCallWithVideo>
   <AllowUserCustomTabs>true</AllowUserCustomTabs>
 </Options>
 <Policies>
   <InitialPhoneSelection>deskphone</InitialPhoneSelection>
   <Disallowed_File_Transfer_Types>.MSI;.MP3;.AVI;.MP4;.386;.ACM;.ADE;.ADP;.ARJ;.ASP;.AVB;.BAS;.BAT;.BIN;.CGI;.CHM;.CLA;.CLASS;.CMD;.CNV;.COM;.CPL;.CRT;.DLL;.DRV;.EXE;.GMS;.GZ;.HLP;.HTA;.HTT;.INF;.INI;.INS;.ISP;.LNK;.MPD;.MSC;.MSI;.MSP;.MST;.OCX;.OPO;.PCD;.PHP;.PIF;.PL;.PRC;.RAR;.REG;.SCR;.SCT;.SH;.SHB;.SHS;.SYS;.TAR;.TLB;.TSP;.URL;.VB;.VBE;.VBS;.VXD;.WBS;.WBT;.WIZ;.WSC;.WSF;.WSH;.ZIP</Disallowed_File_Transfer_Types>
   <EnableSIPURIDialling>true</EnableSIPURIDialling>
 </Policies>
 <Directory>
   <OtherPhone>ipPhone</OtherPhone>
   <BDIOtherPhone>ipPhone</BDIOtherPhone>
 </Directory>
</config>

Thanks Christopher for the update on 2013
could you comment if there is any fix to how jabber itself displays contacts differently after enabling URI dialing. I find the users are confused by seeing a uri form and not selecting it even though it's a valid way to ring an extension. Should be nice to have both the uri and ipPhone listed.

  • Adding link to the photo and Name in the outlook contact card -Enterprise wide

    How can I make the name and photo in the outlook contact card link to my profile page? I read articles where it is mentoined that the URL is set in Registry, currently my organization does not have any link associated with photo and name in contact card.
    I want to implement this across the organization , any deployment or changes that I need to do to implement this across?
    Appreciate if you can provide details on how this is done. The url will look like this:
    https://www.produrl.com/userid={userid}
    How can I dynamically add respective userid in the link?Appreciate your response on this.

    So you want to redesign the contact card in Outlook? Are you using SharePoint? If signed into sharepoint via the social connect, there is a link to the mysharepoint page under View source. I don't think you can change the link or customize the card,

  • Dialing to Outlook Contacts

    Hi All,
    For some reason, I'm not able to dial from my cellular phone while it connected to my PC using Bluetooth.
     My cell phone is Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. The PC runs Windows XP, the Outlook version is 2007 and I'm using Nokia PC Suite v. 7.1.51.0.
    All my Outlook contacts have phone numbers attached. Since early versions of Microsoft Outlook you may call to every contact simply by right-clicking on it and selecting "dial to contact". Obviously, you must select the correct cell phone in the next screen in order to dial from your cell phone (and not from PC's internal modem or something). Somehow, this is working only when the phone is connected to the PC through an USB cable. When the PC communicates with the cell phone over Bluetooth – nothing happens, no error, no message – nothing. I must emphasize that every other function is working beautifully BT, synchronization between PC and cell phone, dialing from the PC suite, all of these are working just fine.
    Why by simply replacing USB cable with BT makes my Nokia being/not being able to dial to Outlook contacts? How do I solve this?
    Thank You

    Sorry, I don't have a solution to your problem, but I was wondering how you have been able to dial through the usb connection at all. I would like to set this up as well but it seems it doesn't work for me.
    Thx

  • Changed Outlook Contact Form back to IPM.Contact - now I can't save contact in Public Folder

    I recently changed the Contact form that we were using back to the default IPM.Contact. I did this so that it  would be consistent for only a few of us had a custom contact template to use and it made it difficult to share contact information. After
    changing the contact default back to IPM.Contact and changing all the contacts to reflect the default Message class, no can add a contact to the Public Folder contact file. I have tried several different setting for the permsion. Publishing Author, Publish
    Editor, Owner, it still gives the error
    The item cannot be saved to this folder. The folder was deleted, or you do not have permission. Do you want to save a copy of it in the degfualt folder for the item.
    When I changed the form back to IPM.Contact  i ran the omglass.exe to change it on all the contacts in the public folder.
    Please advise for no contacts can now be added to our company contact list

    Hi,
    Please right-click this public folder, click Properties. In the General tab, make sure the field of "When posting to this folder, use" is set to IPM.Contact.
    Please restart Outlook with Outlook /checkclient switch(Start > Run > type Outlook /checkclient and enter) to have a try. If it fails, please create a new Outlook profile to have a try:

  • Outlook Contact Card - Organization Tab disabled users

    In Outlook there is a Contact Card showing detailed information about that person. the Organization tab shows the contact's "Manager", "Shares Same Manager" (other contacts with the same manager), and "Direct Reports" (people
    that report to that contact).
    The problem i am seeing is that Users disabled in Active Directory (people that have left the company) are showing up in the Organization Tab.
    How can i filter out disabled users from this list for anyone using Outlook?
    I cannot permanently delete users from Active Directory until after a disabled account reaches a certain age. Also i would prefer not modifying the disabled Active Directory user accounts.
    We mostly run Outlook 2010 with a few people running Outlook 2013

    Hi,
    Outlook has no control over this, it just displays what it got from the server end. And to my knowledge, there is no such a feature to filter out those users from that list, at least on Outlook client.

  • Facebook changed my contact card, how can I restore it?

    Ok this one has me considering a trip to Mountain View. I just recognized that The Contact card on my MBP has been changed, and decorated with that maddening blue filter and "f" telling me "You're ours, now."
    I just recently disconnected FB from my contacts and I think I'm getting control over those, but Lord they are getting presumptuious! I smite ye out "Facebook!"
    Any nuggets of wisdom onthis topic would be deeply appreciated. Thank you Apple Community.
    A Grateful-
    John

    Facebook kept hijacking my Apple Contacts vCard and designating itself as "Me" instead of the Contacts card I've used for many years!
    This is infuriating and calls into question Apple's security.
    I finally figured out that the "Me" card you really want to use must have a Facebook email address entry ([email protected]) and it MUST be labeled with the default word "email". As soon as I did that, Facebook's duplicate, rogue card disappeared from my Contacts.
    Why does Apple let Facebook hijack our vCards like that, Mr. Cook?

  • Dialing from Outlook Contacts

    We are having a very hard time getting this feature to work. We are having to install TSP twice on each PC to even get this to work at all. Then, this feature just stops working for no real reason. When you do some checking, the PC no longer sees the IP phone line.
    Is there a newer version or something else we could try????
    We're using CCM 4.2
    Thanks!!

    Hi I'm having problems with this and I hope that I'm just overlooking something obvious. I followed the steps from the cisco.com link on TSP intergraation with Outlook. Everything was everything but at the end it doesn't work. I've installed the Plug in on my computer and one other, went thru and configured as per the document, Under he Cisco-IP PBX Service Provider Box, I wasn't sure if User Name and Password meant mine, but that's what was inputed on both PCs
    Now then when I go into Outlook and pull up the contact that I have setup on the other PC, I was expecting to see that other IP phone's MAC Address as an option under Dialing Options/Line Properties. The only 2 options that I have is IPCONF LINE and H323 Line, in the example from the document I see what appears to be a MAC address. So please tell that I'm overlooking something simple. Thanks in Advance

  • How to Sync pictures from AD for users in Outlook Contacts?

    Hi we recently enabled adding profile pictures to AD from sharepoint.   This works fine, the attribute shows in AD and the pictures show in Lync.   Now in Outlook there are soem inconsistencies.   I am are running
    Outlook 2010 windows 7 64 bit.    The user pictures from the Global Address List show up fine in the people pane, however for users that I have a local outlook Contact created for the pictures do not show in the "people pane",
    or the outlook "contact".  however the picture DOES show up in the outlook "Contact card".  If I click update on the outlook contact I get a message "no changes were found for this contact".
    If I delete the local contact and re-add them the picture is there.  I don't think the solution is to delete and re-add contacts, as the reason to have the local contact is generally because we have added info that is not in GAL.
    Any way to force the sync of the picture from AD for local contacts?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

  • Contact card

    OK, my wife thought it would be a good idea to link her FB account to my phone and it changed my contact card picture, name and birthday. I have since removed her FB account and have removed picture and birthday but I can seem to remove her name. I enter mine under edit and when I save and go back it shows her name in the middle of mine. I even synced my FB and still didn’t work. Any clues on how to remove/fix my contact card?
    Thx

    If your TB contacts are linked to Google contacts make the changes in Google.  There is a box with 3 ... to the side of name, click that box and see what the name looks like.  Edit the name and changes should be made on HTC.  That's what worked for me when I had a name that I could not get changed by editing on the HTC.  If your using BA I would think the same thing could be done.
    Good luck, it took me 2 weeks to figure it out.

  • Outlook contact not added Email do not show all information i Lync 2013 Client

    I have seen if no Email address is added into contact personen I only get emty Card of user i Lync 2013.
    When I add Email adr. into contact person and wait a littel then user get all information right i Lync 2013 user Card.
    IS this right or should it also showing user and all information from Outlook contact Card into lync 2013 client Card?

    Lync aggregates contact data from Microsoft Exchange GAL, Outlook and Microsoft Lync Server.
    So you can see information from outlook in Lync user card.

  • Outlook contact sync changes email properties!!! How to stop that?

    Hi,
    when you modify or add a new contact on the iPhone, once you synch it with Outlook (2007 in my case), all iPhone contact emails properties are changed in outlook.
    I have set Outlook to default to send email in HTML, not in RTF:
    Tools->Options->Mail Format->Internet Format-> Convert to HTML Format
    This means it won't send RTF mails at all, first converting them to HTML messages.
    Outlook "offers" a way to override this setting directly in the contact form.
    If you open a contact in Outlook "Contacts" view, then double-click its email address. You get a dialog box called "E-mail Properties".
    By default, it will use "Let Outlook decide the best sending format" as the "internet format" mode. This comes from the default we have set above.
    Problem is that each contact modified in the iPhone resets this "Internet format" for that particular contact to "Send using Outlook Rich Text Format".
    This is ways stupid since when you send a formatted email to someone who doesn't have Outlook, then (s)he gets a plain text email and an attached "winmail.dat" file that is binary and containing the formatting and attachments, built-in pictures, etc...
    This file is recognized only by Outlook and can't be read if you don't have outlook or a utility to decode those files.
    Can Apple fix this and keep the "Internet format" settings as it is in Outlook?
    And if you create a new contact on the iPhone, then, when synching, use Outlook's default Internet format?
    Is there a workaround to this annoying problem?
    I know that Outlook is tricky, not the iPhone or iTunes, but we have to live with it.
    Thanks for any help
    Steve

  • Recently my contact card was changed to make my name into a vulgar statement.

    Recently my contact card was changed to make my name into a vulgar statement. I only noticed this when I went to go send an email, and the incorrect name popped up. There is a SLIM chance someone hacked into my contacts since everything is password protected, but I guess I need to know if there is any way that a virus/hacker went into my contacts to mess with me. That seems unlikely as it was just my contact that was changed, but I still need to know. I recently updated my computer software to mountain lion, and I also updated software on my iphone. I was wondering if any of that might have made that change?

    Your device was not hacked as it is not possible unless the device is jailbroken.
    More likely someone has gained access to your iCloud account (assuming that is how contacts are synced to your device) and changed the information to mess with you.  This could also have been done with physcial access to the device or even access to the computer if it is set to save passwords.

  • Is there any way to save received Outlook contacts as Visit Card on BlackBerry

    Hello,
    I administer a BES 5.0.2 server. Sometimes coworkers receive Outlook contacts (Visit Card) via e-mails on BlackBerry. Is there any way they can save these Outlook contacts on their BlackBerry?
    Thanks!
    Buz

    Hello,
    I just love Spell Check!! Visit Card = VCard I am sure.
    I tried (I am also on BES) and, when I receive the email on my BB with the attached VCard, if I open the attachment (the VCard) and press , one of the selections is "Add to Contacts". Is that what you are looking for?
