URL detection

Hi,
We have about 1000+ archived documents that should redirect
users to the more current versions. Rather than manually updating
the content of each file one by one is there a way to redirect an
archived document's link to a more current one.
Also, most of our clients have these documents bookmarked.
So let's say that a link may like so:
http://www.company/publications/archiveddoc101.cfm
is there a way to redirect the above link automatically to
say
http://www.company/publications/currentdoc101.cfm
without any effort on the users.

The only way to know for sure is to do a DNS lookup, or try to make a connection to the server at port 80.
What you can do is to use some heuristics like pattern matching. There must at least be one period. Only a certain set of characters can be used. See RFC2396 at www.rfc-editor.org for more info on URLs

Upto to now i used filters for user authentication by placing the protected pages in the folder from the remaining the pages which are on root. The filter will come into action by the url detection of the foldername. But actually my problem here is different I should not have to place in separate folders and have to provide authentication for particular files which are in sample root. This is I used to solve in normal jsp programming with the help of session. But whereareas in JSF how cleanly to solve this problem. Also iam new to JSF. Please any help regarding this. I am at urgent for the solution.

Long Hyperlink is broken into two lines in PDF/HTML, therefore, the link can't be opened.

A long hyper link http://docs.oasis-open.org/ebxml-msg/ebms/v3.0/core/os/ebms_core-3.0-spec-os.html works fine in Framemaker. Because it is too long, so it is displayed in two lines in FM. "http://docs.oasis-open.org/ebxml-msg/ebms/v3.0/core/os/ebms_core-3.0-spe" is the first line.
After conversion, when you click the link in PDF or HTML help, you are lead to "http://docs.oasis-open.org/ebxml-msg/ebms/v3.0/core/os/ebms_core-3.0-spe" only, so the link can't be opened.
I tried Save Book As PDF and Print, both didn't work.
Could you please help identify this issue?

Did you not only place a hyperlink marker inside of the web address but also apply apply a character format to the whole text of the web address?
In that case the whole text should serve as a hyperlink regardless of spaces or line breaks.

Your description sounds as if you rely only on the automatic URL detection in Acrobat. In the Acrobat preferences in the General tab there is an option "Create links from URL". Usually this is activated. It means that Acrobat tries to find out automatically what could be a web address. Often this automatic approach is not correct.

Why does embeded .swf file goes crazy in IE but not in other browsers?

hi everyone
I'm building a SharePoint page with an embedded .swf file that is capable of detecting the current URL to activate and show content. Everything goes smoothly in all the browsers I've tested it except IE. When I open the SharePoint page in IE the .swf just reproduces the frames non stop, It completely ignores my scripts and I cant find anything that could be responsible of this. besides the url detection script, i just have simple button configuration for the timeline and general stops.
any idea?.....anyone?

Normally when swf's play differently for different browsers it is due to the embedding code used in the html page.

I assume that this logs shoudl be related to firewall and URL filtering, but on the router URL filtering is disabled, can anoyne explain what does it mean?

Hi Lukasz,
My apologies, I mis-read the device.
In your case however the logs you are recieving are mail logs that you have configured. I have replicated the same, and see similar logs. You have URL Detect enabled in the Mail logs. If you were to uncheck this, you will no longer recieve all of those emails.

Can't get webmail to work... is it my IMAP authentication configuration?

I have IMAP Authentication in the Server Admin set for only Kerberos and CRAM-MD5, which has been working great with Apple Mail and my iPhone. I can't login to webmail though, and I'm wondering if my IMAP Authentication settings are the issue?
The message I get when trying to login to webmail is:
Error connecting to IMAP server: localhost.
61 : Connection refused

I'll try turning off TLS now... but it works from Apple Mail on two of my laptops.

New wrv210 issues, wifi drops, reboots

I just purchased a couple of these routers. One for home and for some business clients. So far I have only setup one at home and am kind of disappointed. I can consistently make the wifi drop by clicking to different menu items in the web config gui. In these cases, my wifi clients drop and cannot reconnect, even though the my ssid is still being broadcast by the router, but all clients on the ethernet switch can still ping the router and access the internet. A reboot is required to allow wireless clients to associate. For example, last night my browser was refreshing on the System Performance page for about 20 minutes. I clicked onto Router status and all wifi clients drop. If there is no easy solution to this I will get more technical information (packet captures of 802.11 association, wpa handshakes, etc).
In other cases, using the web interface will cause the router to reboot. I have a syslog server setup (on ethernet) but it doesn't receive anything except for URL Detections and New Connections.
I have a pretty simple setup at home, one ssid, 802.11b/g, wpa2 personal (I've tried Personal Mixed, too). The router seems to be running the latest firmware (2.0.0.11) and a recent hw revision (WRTR-221G_V01).
I am heading to a client location to setup the 2nd wrv210 now. Are these known issues? Are there any solutions?

The guys at Cisco Small Biz Support are great and RMA'd that first router. So I received the replacement yesterday and set it up. It's performing a lot better than the last one, except I get random reboots/lockups. Firmware 2.0.0.11. The remote syslog seems to work though, so I gathered some evidence last night while I was out to dinner (so network activity was idle/light, 192.168.2.1 is the wrv210 IP):

I can only guess that some buffer is filling up and causing a restart. The funny thing is this happens less often while the network is utilized. I'd like to help figure this problem out any way I can. I've done the factory reset and re-configured. I'm about to try that again.
I also disabled the DoS attack stuff because:

Thanks for quick reply
Initially after some troubleshooting I noticed that I could make infection pop up disappear:
From Configure how firefox connects to the internet -> changed from "use system proxy settings" to "auto-detect proxy settings" or "no proxy"
With this option modified, the pop up from avast didn't appear any longer when opening Firefox.
However I noticed that both Chrome and IE were set to work on the same "use system proxy settings" and they weren't causing problems...so I assumed the problem still has to be with firefox.
After changing back the option in firefox to "use system proxy" I got again the notice, but saw that when opening firefox in safe mode the issue was gone again.
I tracked it to the no script addon, after removing it, the issue disappear regardless of proxy config settings...when I reinstall it, it appears again.
I am now running in depth virus scans to see were the actual infection is.
It seems to me it is expoiting a vulnerability in this addon, I will try the reset also.

Ie 11 fails with 'IE Security detected that the URL and the configuration link to not match

HI,
I Have a user that is using IE 11 and is getting the following error:
IE Security detected that the URL and the configuration link to not match. Please use the URL as configured. Is and IP based URL. On IE 10 we get a similar message, but as soon as we add it to our trusted site and switch to compatibility
mode the issue goes away.
For example http://10.10.10.180/xxx/iafwebsite_810/
What would be causing this issue?
Any help would be appreciated.

It seems that this URL doesn't meet security level. Thus, as long as you add this URL to Trusted sites zone, this issue is fixed.

I am hitting the following exception "Unexpected URL parameters have been detected" when i try to run the tutorial page.
Instance RUP level : RUP 7
Jdeveloper version used : Patch 8751878 9I JDEVELOPER WITH OA EXTENSION ARU FOR 11I RUP7
installation location : C:\JDev9
JDEV_USER_HOME set to C:\JDev9\jdevhome\jdev
user name and pwd set to my EBS login
Project run time settings : Application short name : AK
Responsibility Key : FWK_TBX_TUTORIAL
double checked that the responsibility is assigned to my user in EBS
DBC File : downloaded the file from $FND_TOP/secure , changed the guest login to my ebs login.and placed in directory
C:\JDev9\jdevhome\jdev\system9.0.3.5.1453\oa\dbc_files\secure\fmscng3.dbc and gave the same path in the dbc file directory

It does not give me any error , it just says unexpected URL parameters and asks me to login .

My JDeveloper raise "Raise Application: FND, Message Name: FND-INVALID APPLICATION." error when run test page before, And I download an other version JDeveloper. and it run well of the test_fwktutorial.jsp, but when I click link in test_fwktutorial.jsp, it raises error and the Oracle EBS Logon page show same time(A error "Unexpected URL parameters have been detected and will be ignored." show in Oracle EBS Logon page show ).

Jack,
You need not do hit and trial on various version of jdev. Jdev version should be as per your instance patchset version. Go through document no.416708.1 on metalink to know you need to download which version of jdev, as per ur instance patch set level.

Mail Auto Detect URL Links

This is a long-standing problem that I have had that recently re-surfaced when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. There was a previous discussion with the same problem here (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2197566&start=0&tstart=0).
The basic problem is this. Mail will auto-detect and link URL and email addresses while I am composing an email.
This is quite frustrating as it will interupt what I am typing and pull the cursor back to where the url or email address is when it auto-detects and creates the link. Some people might find this useful, I do not because of how quickly it happens - it is very disruptive. While using Leopard and this problem surfaced, it appeared to be related to the MailTags plugin since disabling that plugin made the problem go away. I also found that the auto-detect and linking occurs during activity with the mail server as noticed by a quick burst of activity happening (as shown in the Activity Window) just before the auto-detect and linking occurs.
If anyone can provide any information and assistance as to why this is happening and how to correct it, I would appreciate it. Unfortunatley, I have grown even more comfortable and reliant on MailTags than when this problem surfaced with Leopard and do not want to leave MailTags disabled.

You create the new bookmark with the javascript replacing the original URL from any old bookmark you have and no longer need, or just create a new bookmark for any thing at all specifically for your links script. Then once you are at a page where you want the links displayed, you just select your new links bookmark. Your page will stay open, but a new window will open as well, with all the links listed. You might want to change the size of the window, the width=400 and height=200 result in a pretty small window. Anyway, I put the Links javascript bookmarklet in my Bookmarks menu, so while I am here on this page I just go to the Bookmarks menu, slide down and select Links, and a new window opens with all the links on this page listed.

PS--It would be more impressive if I had written that script, but I didn't. I found it years ago and saved it with a batch of bookmarklets that do other useful things, such as suppressing animated gifs. I just checked, and a particularly useful collection, Jesse's Bookmarklets, still exists:

How can I get JavaScript to detect if flash is installed and then load a different URL?

Hi, I've made two versions of the same site, one in flash and one in HTML, but I want the browser to detect what version of flash is installed, if any and then load the appropriate version of my site. I used to have it so that it displays a HTML message within the same window dependant on the whether the user has the right flash version or not and that used to work perfectly, so I think it must be to do with the changes I made to the if and else statements within the checkFlash() function.
Here's how I've made it so far:
