URL for calling favorite portlet (or other portlet)

Is there any direct URL
that can invoke the portlet directly
w/o logging-in portal?
null

Not at this point. We are planning on this capability for future release.

• How to find the WSDL URL for my deployed portlet

Hello,
I do not find the WSDL URL for my deployed portlet. I deployed a Portlet correctly with JDeveloper to a remote Oracle AS.
In the tutorial they write:
"Now use the URL provided in the log page at the bottom of JDeveloper to get part of your URL (e.g. http://myserver.uk.oracle.com:8888/my-portlet) and complete the URL.
http://myserver.uk.oracle.com:8888/my-portlet/portlets?WSDL
Now use this URL to register your portlet with OracleAS Portal."
But in the log there is nothing like this! The log ends like this:
"DCM command completed successfully.
Output:
Exit status of DCM servlet client: 0
Elapsed time for deployment: 13 seconds
---- Deployment finished. ---- 11-Mar-2006 12:26:58"
Can anyone tell me where to finde the WSDL Url?
Thank you.

OK I think that I found a quick workaround for this issue. Creating a redirection URL using the parameter icm/HTTP/redirect_<xx> works for me.
Parameter:
icm/HTTP/redirect_0 (Value '0' may differ for your system)
Value:
PREFIX=/ws1, TO=/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/srvc_08002720027F1EE3AEAAFED3B5688C63/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=001
Now the WSDL URL can be reached at
http://was730.dvlopr.com:8000/ws1
Tested!
Best regards

• Content URL for specifying new Portlet

Hello,
For some reason I don't have access to personalization newsgroup from my
news server, so I post my question here, hoping somebody who uses Weblogic's
Portal will be able to answer.
I am trying to pass parameters to my portlet by specifying them in content
URL, like
Content URL: portlets/CustomHelloWorld.jsp?helloString=HELLO
CustomHelloWorld.jsp:
<%
String helloString = request.getParameter("helloString");
out.println("TestTest");
out.println(helloString);
%>
It seems to me, that Weblogic simply doesn't understand my content URL
string, because the jsp is not even getting compiled, and all I get on my
portal page is the title bar.
If anybody knows how to make it work, or if you know that this is something
Weblogic doesn't support, please let me know.
Any info will be much appreciated,
Nadya.

Hi Nadya,
Check your console messages or your weblogic.log file. Are any exceptions
being thrown?

Hi,
I am trying to pass parameters to my portlet JSP using content URL. So Ihave something like this in my content URL:
portlets/CustomHelloWorld.jsp?helloString=TEST
My CustomHelloWorld.jsp:
<%
String helloString = request.getParameter("helloString");
out.println(helloString);
%>
Nothing shows up, except for the TitleBar.

• Escape special charter in WSDL url for calling a webservice

I am trying to call a webservice which has "&" in the WSDL url.
http://server:8080/asd?id=123gh3&wsdl=1
It is throwing "The refernece to entity must end with the ';' delimeter." error
How can I excape it or encode this specail character in WSDL url
Thanks

Is this a compiler error? If so, replace & with &
If it is a runtime error, there is a top-level escape() function.

• What is the url for calling a webservice which takes boolean input

Hi
Can anyone help me out to know how to call a webservice which takes boolean as input? Here my webservice is developed in Java.
Regards

I'm not sure what your context is, but you can test out your new Web Service by using soapui (www.soapui.org). Assuming your using a literal format, the encoding information will not be required in the XML elements. Therefore your message could be:
<element>true</element>

Hi Hoque,
I changed the war name. Then Test Point is getting as " http://10.50.7.72:8888/ZohoMail-ViewController-context-root". But when i am clicking on that url the error message is getting like the following
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

• How can I put "Favorites"portlets for various users in a page?

How can i put in a page two "Favorites" portlets (one for each user that log on into the page and one for each group of users that logon into the page),so each
user can customize (add favorites,delete favorites,..) it's own "Favorites" portlet and the other "Favorites" portlet is only customizable by a
group of user,so if the user log on is not in that group can't customize the portlet.

The favorites portlet is set up to work this way automatically. You put one version on a page, and the customizations are stored for each individual user. So the same portlet displays different favorites based on the logged in user. At this point, there is no way to define favorites for a group.

• Default favorites portlet for different groups in oid

Hi,
We are using Portal 10.1.4.
I want to use the favorites portlet to have default favorites for different user groups (So different set of default favourites for diffrent portal group)
Is this possible? Is the portlet cached at the system level? can this be changed?
Also, How do I hide the help link and image from the 'personalize' wizard?
Can the display in the wizards be modified in other ways?
cheers
Kev

Vijay, that doesn't seem to work. What I need (and I think it is the same as the original poster ) is to have several different instances of the favorites portlet or one instance that can have its links access controlled. e.g. A favorites portlet for the students group with links that only that OID group can see, a favorites portlet for staff with links that only the staff OID group can see. I am using portal 10.1.4 and cannot see any way to access control the default favourites.
Thanks,
Steven.

• How to form a URL dynamically in my portlet

hi all,
i have a requirement in weblogic portal 10.2,how do i form my URL dyncamically in my portlet which is as below
I have a requirement to dynamically form my URL. Further suppose I have a left navigation portlet which has 3 links and right navigation portlet should show the content for the respective links clicked on left navigation portlet.so in this scenario I need to dynamically create my url which I need to display on the right hand side portlet
Dynamic access to portlet B
Portlet A ------------------------------------------> Portlet B
The Url which has to be displayed on portlet B has to created dynamically in my portlet A,
i.e portlet A should dynamically access portlet B and the page of Portlet B which has to be displayed and create the URL,Once the URL is formed I should be able to access portlet B,
Portlet A ---> access Portlet B context ---> get portlet B context ----> get Portlet B output jsp page and hence form the url
Portlet A = (Portlet B context) + (get Portlet B output jsp page)
= Well formed URL of output jsp page which is in the right hand portlet B
If u have the source code pertaining to above/material.please share it with me.
Thanks

Henrik, the Java importer lets you call Java classes on the app server side - I think what Ali is trying to do is integrate on the client side.
If you want to add your own button then if you extend the standard Forms button in Java and then use this class name in the implementation class property then the Java for your button will be used instead of the standard Forms button. And since it has extended the basic Forms button it has all the standard button functionality.
There is a white paper on OTN about this and we have created a new white paper which will be out in a couple of months (I think).

Does anyone know how to pass the username in a url call using omni portlett or a simple url

are you getting these errors when you run this query in sqlplus or some other tool and not in portal? i suspect that would be the case.
anyway. you can directly get user from wwctx_api for the current login user instead of pulling that from wwsec_person$.
also, you might wanna create a small sql-block to get the user using wwctx_api and pass on the value to wherever you wanna pass it to. something of this sort:
declare
v_user varchar2(30):=null;
begin
select wwctx_api.get_user into v_user from dual;
exception
when others then
htp.p('ERROR');
end;
hope that helps.

• "Favorites" Portlet customization

Is it possible to modify the links in the Favorites (My Links) portlet to open in a new window? I don't want the user to leave the current portal session every time a favorites link is activated. I see that this functionality is available when adding a new link to a content area. This is something that should also be possible with the Favorites portlet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
The problem is somehow there is no default DAD entry in your DAD config files. Please do the following -
1. Open the $IAS_HOME/Apache/modplsql/cfg/wdbsvr.app file. ($IAS_HOME would be where you have installed iAS).
2. Verify whether you have any dad in your file. If not , add manually a dad named "sample".
3. In the top section in this file, there would be a field called "default DAD". you need to provide some existing dad in that file.
4. You need to restart your iAS server.
Now, you can access this URL.
Thanks,
Ved

You can use the FM GET_GLOBALS_FROM_SLVC_FULLSCR to get the ALV Grid object behind the FullScreen ALV. Then use the method GET_VARIANT to get the Selected Layout name.
Something like this:
FORM F_TOP_OF_PAGE.
DATA: LO_GRID TYPE REF TO CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.
* Get the ALV Object reference
CALL FUNCTION 'GET_GLOBALS_FROM_SLVC_FULLSCR'
IMPORTING
E_GRID = LO_GRID.
if lo_grid is bound.
lo_grid->get_variant( importing es_variant = lv_layout ).
endif.
ENDFORM.
