Unit Conversion in Service master

It seems the in service master (AC01) there could be only one unit conversion. Can we have more than one unit conversion just like material master. If yes how to do that?

Unit of conversion is Default settings(in img activity at Pur org or client level) while creating Service PO UOM is always in AU.

We are procuring Labors as "SERVICES" on daily wages basis and are assigned to the Production Cost Centers
If we assign unit of measure as "DAYS" is AC01 and specify the wage as Rs. 140/Day, but while capturing the product cost in PP, labor costs will be in PER HOUR basis, where as we have set 140/Day in the Service Master.
My doubt is, how the system will convert this Days into Hours? should we specify Unit conversion in Service Master?
when I tried to maintain this conversion in service master as 1 DAY=8 Hrs , system was showing some other values..
Can someone provide some info?
Secondly for services like Annual AMC (service contracts) how to create a service contract? Is it ME31K with item category D ?

When I tried to maintain in AC01 it automaticall takes 86400 HRS= 3600 DAYS which means 24 HRS/DAY...

Service Master - Unit of Measure

Hi all -
had a question about services and alternate unit of measure. On a service master, its not possible to specify alternate UoM (like we do in material master). What is the process to say create a service in minutes and create a PO in hours ?

But the service maintainnsce on hourly or daily we have to decide.

I am afraid I must confirm that the system is working in this way...
It is not possible to define an alternative unit of measure in the service master in R/3.
If you want to create a purchase order with another unit of measure, you have to create a seperate service master with this unit of measure.

Because , here u are not going to purchase any material , only service u r going to do.
While doing service PO u can mention approximate value of total service .
Then once u cpmplete the whole service , what ever it may be , whethere , one sheet or 3 sheets , or ,.,.etc what u wnated to do the service u do the service .
Final u'll come to know how mucha service has been done , by the servicer.
Right , so here according do the service entry sheet and payment to the particuklar service .

1. What is use of Service Category. Do we need to use the default or we need to configure as per our requirement.
2. while creating Service Order, we need to enter Single Short Text in Item & Multiple Short Texts in Item Details. What is the actual use of providing Multiple Short Texts in Item Details.

I get this message on two different machines installing SQL2014 developer edition, a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 machine. Both machines have SQL2005 through SQL2012 developer machines installed and working great. I have tried uninstalling all SQL2014 stuff and
installing again making sure I was running as an Administrator to no avail.
How do I look at sys.key_encryptionswhen the server will not start to finish installation?

Hi Tom,
Sorry for the delay. We can exclude the media factor since you were able to install it on VM with this media.
If I understand correctly, Shanky said “Abve message can also appear due to corrupt profile so deleteting old profile and creating new one and using this to install would also help.Make sure you always RK on setup.exe and select run as administrator” which
means your user account may be corrupted rather than the Virtual account. You can create a new Windows user account and use it to log into the system. Then, re-try the installation.

Service Master Records Utilization

Dear all,
I am currently implementing service master records for my client who used to be having free text entry for services.
As for the service master records, I have the following requirements:
1. Service master records will not be the lowest detailed level.
2. However, the client wants to have a rigid way of controlling unit rates.
3. For example, "IT Consultancy" will be a service master created for procurement purposes. However, different service providers would have different unit rates for each level. Say, Manager Daily Rate, Consultant Daily Rate etc.
The question is, what is the best alternative to represent these unit rate (reflecting them in PR, PO), without having to create service master records for each of them? Please advice!

You have to configure service category in SPRO for service master and you can assign the number range in SPRO
The path is SPRO is:
Materials Management-External Services ManagementService Master---Define Service Category
Service Master is created using AC03
The service master record counts as part of the master data within External Services Management and serves as a source of data for you to draw upon when creating service specifications. This enables you to save time and reduces the frequency of errors, since you need only enter the complete service descriptions in the service master record once.
A service master record contains the following principal information for the unique description of a service:
Service number
Service category
Descriptive texts (short and long text)
Base unit of measure
Material group
Valuation class by which G/l account is determined
when you reference it in the PO, all the data gets transfered and you avoids the mistakes

Unit Conversion in Query Designer

Hi All,
In one of my report, i have to show the gross weight in column against material which i am reading from material master.
Now the weight is stored in two different unit's KG & G.
But i have to show the weight finally in KG.
Does any body has any idea of performing unit conversion at Query level i.e. in Query Designer.

Rakesh the same i am doing, that is reading the weight value from material master through formula variable using replacement path.
Now when i create a key figure like this, there is a tab of 'Conversion' in that there is mentioned the 'Unit conversion'
In there, there are 2 options
1. Conversion type - this is a drop down but with no vlaue
2. Target Unit - Where i selected KG.
But output remains the same, i.e. in KG.
M I missing something ?

Unit Conversion in the Query

Hello Experts.
I have a situation where I need the units of quantity to be converted at the query level. For e.g. if the value of the keyfigure is stored in litres in the Cube, then at the time of the query execution this value should be converted in gallons.
I cannot use the following options in this case:
1) The Solution for alternate UOM using the How-to guide for the same as the conversion from liters to gallons is not maintained at the material master level in my case
2) I cannot use the Unit Conversion in the Conversion tab because gallons won't be the only target unit in my report, it will depend on the type of material select by the user.
Please let me know about the options in this case. Any sort of help is appreciated and points will be duly rewarded.

Hi Prasad,
In both of the ways, there should be only one target unit for them to work which is not the case in my situation. I want only specific material types to be displayed in gallons. If the User selects a different Material type then the target unit will be different.
Any other possible solution on this one.

Unit Conversion issue for same material with Diff KPI

Hi,
i have a report with multiple key figures which form a structure.
Unit conversion for this report and all the key figures are defined at report level.
Below are the settings in place
Source currency:    Data record from target
Target Currency:    From variable ( Input variable in BeX report)
Conversion factor: Dyanamic Determination of conversion factor
                               Using Reference Infobject if available otherwise use T006
                               Reference Infobject: 0Material
Issue: For 1 Key figure conversion to TO is happening, however for other Key figure conversion is not happening for the same material.
Note: Conversion to TO is defined in BEX settings for Info object 0material and stored in DSO UOM0MATE.
Why for same material some key figures convert to target unit correctly and not the others?
See the attached screenshot. Sales Quantity is convertin to "TO" while Volume third party shows figue in"ERR" for same material.

Hi,
Following reasons cause to your issue,
1. Unit Conversion is not maintained for that particular material in source system Material itself, so that conversion data data may not updated in DSO (UOM0MATE).
2. For particular transnational data record key figure value don't have any base unit or units measures, that case also you may get that error.
Request check the transnational data in your InfoProvider and 0Material Master data and DSO data (UOM0MATE) . Correct the data based on that.
Check the Master data test in RSRV for 0Material, if any SID generations was missed or not.
I hope this can be help to find the cause of error , based on that you can resolve problem.

We have issue in which while creating Service master, wrong unit of measure was used.
Now to correct this, we need to do mass update of these service masters created.
Is there any way in to do this. Any program that SAP has which would solve this probelm.

Unit conversion in the sales order

Hi All,
We have got a typical requirement from the user where they need unit conversion at sales order creation level.
The scenario goes as below.
Initially the order quantity will be enetered in terms of pieces and the price will be determined accordingly. Now user wants to have option in the sales order screen, by pressing which the order quantity (unit of measurement) should convert in to number of boxes. Also price they want to redetermine based on the number of boxes.
example: Assume a each box can accomodate 12 pieces.
So initially in the order 24 units of the material are entered and price per piece is 10 USD so the total price will become 240USD.
Now when they press the conversion button in the screen then the number of unit should become 2 and price per quantity should become at box level. i.e 120 per box.
Please let me know whether through available std config is it possible to achieve this or please let me how we can achieve this.

e.g
1 box <===> 100 ea.
Now create order and system will determining sales unit, if u want to change it change.
Also see in iteam deteail tab conversion factor is appearing.

Problem in service master (AC01)

Hi,
My client is using SAP 4.7 ECC. In the client system, unit of measure field set as mandatory field in Service master (T.Code- AC01). As per system setting, system should not allow to create a new service master via T.Code AC03 by keeping unit of field blank. However, occasionally system allows the user to create service master without entering any thing in the unit of measure field. Once the service is created with unit of measure field as blank, system not allow the user to enter into edit mode of service master (T.Code AC02). System give massage Please maintain unit of measure.
Can any one so kind to help me for resoling this issue.

Hi,
If unit of measure field set as mandatory field in Service master how system will allow you save service master without entry of unit of measure? Just check the following path:
SPRO->MM->External Service Management->Service Master->Field Display for service Master->Define Field Selection for Service Master (List Entry)
And check here base unit of measure is in position of Input or Required, Display or Hide Or highlighted
