URL Generator Services

Hello,
when I try to change the protocoll in "Host" in the "URL Generator Services" (under "Global Services") from http to https, the TREX monitor shows an SSL error by crawling new documents (but then the links in email notifications are working correctly with the right URLs with https). Because the TREX is behind some firewalls I do not want to configure any additional SSL connection, only the portal plattform runs on SSL.
Is it possible to edit the links in email notification without changing the host parameter and without configuring SSL for TREX? Or are there other possibilities to solve this problem?
Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,
there is a solution for your problem:
Just upgrade to SP2 Patch 5 or newer (SP) version. There you are able to create different URLs
for the Backend systems (for example TREX) and for the normaly Portal users using the new parameter Alternative Host under "URL Generator Service".
Under "Host" you will configure "https://..." so that you get the notifications mails with https links, and under "Alternative Host" you configure "http://.." so that TREX will avoid authentication for SSL.
Hope this information was usefull to you,
Robert

  • URL Generator Service

    Hello,
    I have a question concerning the URL Generator Service.
    Due to problems with TREX I changed the host in the URL Generator Service from <i>http://<%hostname%></i> to <i>http://enterpriseportal.mycompany.com</i>. This fixed the problem with TREX, but I am wondering, if <%hostname%> is a parameter with is resolved at this point and should be defined somewhere else or if this is the right place for defining the host.
    Kind regards,
    dominik

    Hi Dominik,
    the name you give at the parameter <i>Host</i> should be the one of the load balancer. Your example is fine, though. This URL is taken for the access links of all KM documents and more.
    For TREX to access KM you can specify another hostname by setting the parameter <i>Alternative Host</i> if you have problems with the load balancer URL.
    See also <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/7d/236cfa17034a37a439dc392ec59eb0/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/7d/236cfa17034a37a439dc392ec59eb0/frameset.htm</a>
    So if you have no more problems with TREX now anymore, you can leave the setting like you did. It is perfectly the right place

  • Reusing sessionid in url generated with wgateurl() to switch service

    Hi  all
    In my Itsmobile application im not able to kill  a calling session with ~singletransaction =1 or using the startservice  described in below help
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/Helpdata/en/46/6c412141496a58e10000000a11466f/content.htm .
    does any one know why i cant do this? is there a note? is this a basis issue?
    on a side note i want  to switch  between ITS services without spawning another session in sm04 in  ITSmobile application
      so i thought if there was some way i could string process the url generated with wgateurl() & replace the old service with the new service then i would just be working in one session.
    now my question is  this the right thing to do? could this be bottlenecking the session memory?
    & has any one done this using either HTML forBusiness  or jscript?
    any help would be highly appreciated

  • Workshop 10.0.1 - Generating service control from a WSDL file

    Hi!
    I've been familiarising myself with Workshop (version 10.0.1).
    There is a feature that allows the generation of a web service control by right-clicking a WSDL file (Web Services > Generate Service Control).
    This process creates a jar file containing the WSDL's complex type.
    My only problem with this is that the jar uses the namespaces as package names (for example: www.openuri.org will be converted into an org.openuri package).
    I've been searching for a way to customize the package names, but I've been unable to find it. We previously used Axis to generate a web service client, and we ran an Ant task that could map namespaces to packages.
    Would there be a way to achieve this in Workshop?
    Thank you!

    Hi
    This is a known issue and a limitation. Service controls doesn't honor xsdconfig files when generated from wsdl file.
    We have an enhancement request CR307698 pending to address this issue. It looks like it's a big change in code to get this working so it is being looked at in the next release.
    Also, you can call BEA support / create a case in future and request status on this CR anytime.

  • Generate Service Control for WSDL: NullPointerException

    Steps to demonstrate the problem: in Platform Workshop (8.1.4) in Integration mode, create a Tutorial Process Application, then for RequestQuote.jpd, Generate WSDL file, then for that WSDL, Generate Service Control.
    <pre>ERROR: requestquote/RequestQuoteContract.wsdl Line 0, Col 0: java.lang.NullPointerException
    </pre>
    The WSDL is valid (Axis WSDL2Java and Eclipse-Webtools are both okay with it, assuming I delete some cw and http namespaces they don't understand).
    The problem is when the XSD is too deeply nested giving XML like /one/two/three, whereas /one/two is okay for WLI. This is valid XSD, but apparently too deep for WLI to understand.
    Any help debugging this more or working around it would be appreciated. Is there a way to run this process from the command line, so I might debug this more on my own? I'd like to give the stackTrace for the NPE, but WLI Workshop doesn't show that.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi guys,
    I had the same problem and what I had to do was import the Schema project that holds all schemas included in the WSDL that I was trying to generate a control from. In my case I had the Schema project because I was the one that developed the WebService too, in your case it's possible that you have to create an Schema project and somehow extract the schemas from de WSDL and create .xsd files to put in the project.
    After doing this you will see the popup window (when you try to generate a service control from the WSDL file) asking if you want to use the XMLBeans generated from the xsd files in your Schema project otherwise it will generate inner classes based in the WSDL's schemas, you must choose YES (use the existing XMLBeans) and that should be it for creating a Service Control based on a WSDL file.
    Hope this helps in most cases.

  • Problems with URLs generated for My/BEx Portfolio in a FPN

    Has andone successfully configured a FPN that uses My/BEx Porfolio?
    We are facing a problem with the URLs generated when launching a BEx web query stored in either My Portfolio or BEx Portfolio after it has been saved from the BEx Web Analyzer.  After saving the KM document in My/BEx Portfolio in BEx Analyzer attempts to execute the link from the Portfolio IView result in "Page not found or not avaialble".  The KM document appears to be correct as it can be opened correctly from the BEx Analyzer template.
    Current Setup:
    Consumer Portal:  EP 7 (SP17)
    Producer Portal: EP 7 (SP17 patch 11)
    BW System: BI 7 (SPS16, BW SP18)
    SSO and Trusts are configured and working.
    WebDav is configured to store BEx Portfolio entries on the Consumer
    Currently RSPOR_T_PORTAL is configured with hostname of Producer, however it was initially configured with Consumer host, resulting in the same problem, though this should not matter, as the RDL IView is used regardless of the setup.
    Scenario:
    Existing Roles have been imported from BW System into Producer Portal, the roles are not used, only the imported IViews
    IViews of the Queries have been included in Consumer Roles using RDL
    IView has been added to this role to display local BEx Portfolio links
    RDL IView has been added to this role to display Producer My Portfolio links
    1. Launch IView of Query included in Role
    2. Use Save As functionality to store KM document in My Portfolio or Bex Portfolio
    3. Open the cooresponding Portfolio IView and click on the link
    Here's an example URL resulting from launching the link
    http://pportal.lhoist.com:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fevery_user!2fgeneral!2fdefaultDesktop!2fframeworkPages!2fframeworkpage!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage?BOOKMARK=D4UE3NQC7T5MUXILOGH6GV7LC&BI_TARGET_IVIEW=fpn%3AEP%2Fpcd%3Aportal_content%2FLhoist_BI%2FRoles%2FLhoist.MyReporting%2FStandardReports_2%2FSales%2FProfitability%2FSales_Quantity%2FMPXXSAP103_00000071%3AhRPQZv3B9%252BE66ckUgr9%252Fcg%253D%253D%3A1%3A&NavigationContext=fpn:EP/pcd:portal_content/Lhoist_BI/Roles/Lhoist.MyReporting/StandardReports_2/Sales/Profitability/Sales_Quantity/MPXXSAP103_00000071:hRPQZv3B9%2BE66ckUgr9%2Fcg%3D%3D:1:&windowId=WID1231315538117

    Hi Srinivas,
    I think their is no direct transaction for that, and think creation of a Pricing report using TCode  V/LA and specifying your conditions in that, and then executing it using the TCode V/LD wil do.

  • MAS Generator Service Initialization Failed

    Hi,
    We ar eon MSV 5.0 SP11. In MAS we are able to login to the MAS. The MAS creadentials are accepted, we get the screen where we can select the change list. When we click OK here, we get an error saying "Generator Service Initialization Failed".
    This used to work earlier. Only change which is done is that the User with which we used to connect to the Windows machine (not MAS user)initially was a local user with admin rights. Now we are using the user with same username but the user is created on our Active directory server.
    Can anyone guide us please?
    Thanks,
    Yatin

    MAS needs Administrator previlage to run. (Administrator previlage of the system in which it is installed not  that of the domain)
    Add  / Assign  local Administrator privilage to the user (the one that u have created in the Active Directory).
    Right click on My Computer ->Manage
    Go to Local Users and Groups - >Group
    Right click on Administrators -> Add to Group
    Find and Add the user (the one that u have created in the Active Directory)
    Click OK and close the window..
    Make sure the SQL Server that ur MAS is connecting to is up and running....
    Hope this will solve your problem...

  • Customizing ENDPOINT URL generated in PI

    Hi Experts,
    I have generated the WSDL in PI.
    The Endppoint URL is as follows.
    http://hostname:port number/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet/sender_party;senderService = xxx;receiverparty=;receiverService=yyy;interface name;namespace
    But the client needs the cutomized endpoint URL as mentioned below without PI object details like service interface name, namespaces
    http://hostname:port number/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet/DataInsert
    Any solution for this?
    Can we do the customization anywhere?
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards,
    Deepthi

    You can choose between 2 URL patterns, as stated in Configuring the Sender SOAP Adapter - Advanced Adapter Engine - SAP Library | paragraph Result:
    You can trigger a call to the sender SOAP adapter using either of the following URLs. However, SAP recommends you to use the second option.
      http:// <host name> : <port name> /XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel= <party name> : <service name> : <channel name> . If you have not created a party, enter channel=: <service name> : <channel name>
      http:// <host name> : <port name> /XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?senderParty= <name of the sender party> &senderService= <name of the sender service> &interface= <name of the interface> &receiverParty= <name of the receiver party> &receiverService= <name of the receiver service> &interfaceNamespace= <name of the interface namespace>

  • URL Genetaror Service

    Hi people,
    I want my custom Java iView to call another iView by using the request.redirect() method in doOnNodeReady(). For this, I seached SDN to understand how to build the URL for the target iView at runtime. I am trying the following code:
    IUrlGeneratorService urlGeneratorService = null;
    try{
         <b><u>urlGeneratorService = (IUrlGeneratorService)ResourceFactory.getInstance().getServiceFactory().getService(IServiceTypesConst.URLGENERATOR_SERVICE);</u></b>
    } catch (Exception re){
         System.out.print(re.toString());
    IPortalUrlGenerator portalUrlGenerator = null;
    ISpecializedUrlGenerator specializedUrlGenerator = urlGeneratorService.getSpecializedUrlGenerator(IPortalUrlGenerator.KEY);
    if(specializedUrlGenerator != null && specializedUrlGenerator instanceof IPortalUrlGenerator){
         portalUrlGenerator = (IPortalUrlGenerator)specializedUrlGenerator;
         myNewParameter = portalUrlGenerator.generatePortalComponentUrl(request, myParameter);
    However, I am always receiving a NullPointerException from the line in bold. What I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance
    Fernando Urzedo

    Hi Pooja, hi Fernando,
    @Pooja: The code you have posted also uses a deprecated method to access the service. I have to admit that the links I referred to within the same thread do this, too (anyhow, you just recreated (deprecated) content already existing on SDN).
    See https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/SPS15/ep/com/sapportals/portal/prt/component/IPortalComponentRequest.html#getService(java.lang.String) - The non-deprecated way is PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService()
    @Fernando: If you want to use the portal URLGenerator, you have to access it the way described above.
    But in your use case, you can use the KM URLGenerator for generating the KM-nav-component URL:
    IURLGeneratorService urlGenService = (IURLGeneratorService) ServiceFactory.getInstance().getService(IServiceTypesConst.URLGENERATOR_SERVICE);
    redirectStartURI = urlGenService.getRelativeUri(PathKey.NAVIGATION_PAGE).toExternalForm();
    Hope it helps

    Hi
    I have not seen the wsdl yet but your xmlbean types generation looks familiar.
    This is one reason why you could get the error with the xmlbeans type.
    error: src-resolve: type 'Array@http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/' not found.
    Workaround: To allow the XmlBeans to be built from this type of WSDL correctly, add the schemaLocation attribute. For example, if the original WSDL had an import such as:
    <s:import namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/>
    It should be changed to the following:
    <s:import namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" schemaLocation="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/>
    After this change you should not see the error.
    Vimala-
