USB VGA camera driver

I have old HP USB Camera with the driver(sp35415.exe) which worked for XP. will it work windows 8. where can find driver for HP VGA camera?

Try installing the XP drivers from the HP website, as they may be backwards compatible. There's no guarantees but it won't hurt to try.
I know this sometimes works as I have several older peripherals, running on Windows 7 drivers on a Windows 8 PC.

  • How to get source code for WinCE 6.0 USB Camera Driver for ARM4I Processor

    Hi,
I am implementing USB camera driver for my mini2440 board which has an ARM4I processor. The sample code

does not support ARM4I processors. When trying to generate in VS2005 Platform Builder my WinCE 6.0

  • SbRIO usb camera, driver from myRIO

    Hi,
in myRIO the common USB camera works, is it possible to use the same set of drivers on sbRIO 9636?
I think it has the same OS, USB, only the CPU is different.
I can see the USB device, but not as an IMAQ camera.
Older posts says it was not possible, but there should be new drivers...
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi NeoGHOST,
The sbRIO-9636 and myRIO are quite different under the hood.  They use a different processor and OS.  sbRIO-9636 is using VxWorks OS on a Power PC and myRIO uses NI Linux RT on a dual-core ARM processor.
I'm not very familiar with the USB Camera driver, but I wanted to point out that it would diffenately require a different back end implementation to support both targets.

  • IPad Photo Transfer: Windows Vista Digital Still Camera Driver Failed

    Hi,
I am trying to transfer photos from my iPad to my laptop. When I plug it in to the laptop the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver installs successfully and the Digital Still Camera driver fails. I have previously transferred photos in this way without any problem. When I plug the iPad in to the laptop it does not show up in 'my computer', the iPad is on and the screen is unlocked. Autoplay is on but no menu appears to transfer the photos. The photos I want to transfer have been taken on the iPad. It shows up in iTunes as normal. I can transfer photos from my iPhone to the laptop without a problem.
    This is what I've tried:
    - uninstall iTunes and reinstall
    - restart the computer
    - turn iPad on and off
    - uninstall and reinstall apple device driver (even though it was up to date and said to be working as usual)
    - plugged it in to an old laptop (windows xp) and it worked as expected
    - checked for usbappl.syn in C:\Windows\system32\drivers and it is present
    - uninstalled all Apple content from my laptop and reinstalled it all again
    - repaired the Apple Mobile Device Support program
Any help would be much appreciated, it is driving me crazy!

    Hi
I've had similar problem with my Iphone 8gb 1.1.2 OTB and Windows Vista right from when i purchased it. I tried calling Apple support and tried out all the things that you've done so far and got fed up with it. Now I download my pictures using a third party software called TouchCopy. Apple was not able to identify the issue but it certainly an issue with the OS and not the Iphone. It works like a breeze with my Windows XP PC at home but my laptop doesn't recognize it and it just gives "device installation failed". But curiously for sometime like 15 days ago, the device driver got installed but still I didn't get the camera icon in MY Computer... So if somebody could help... great!!!
And Hail Vista because I've had several driver issues like these and my antivirus is OneCare so I don't think Microsoft could complain about my installations.
    Cheers

  • Where can I get the driver for my HP DE8A4L external USB CD/DVD drive?

Where can I get the driver for my HP DE8A4L external USB CD/DVD drive?
On the label it says, Model HSTNN-PD06-91
    and
    HP PN: 518819-001 Rev.B
I've had my Mini 110-1000 running our music system for a couple of years, no complaints.  When I wanted a CD/DVD drive, I purchased a DE8A4L external USB drive directly from HP.  It didn't come with a driver disc.  When I plug it in, the USB subsystem does not enable it.  Device Manager shows a yellow exclamation point, saying, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware..."   It is running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.
    What gives with this device?

Following up on tactic 2) above, I upgraded the BIOS from version F07 to the latest version available on the HP download site, version F19.  This went well, but unfortunately the system still does not recognize the device.
When I try to Device Manager, and select the DE8A4L DVD device, and try "search for a device driver", it says it cannot find a better match for the driver already installed.
This Mini 110-1000 only came with 1 Gb RAM, and Windows XP Home.   Is one of these a critical limitation for running an external USB DVD drive?

  • Need suggestion for small USB/FW camera for chat

I have an old (Tiger, PPC) laptop. My wife has an old (Panther, PPC) mini. I'm going on a trip and want to use Skype or iChat to be able to see the kids when we talk. Can someone suggest a camera USB/firewire camera which would be good for this purpose? I don't need too many fancy features but it would be nice if it weren't big and heavy (since I'll be traveling with mine). If it's on a flexible stick or mounts to the top of the monitor/laptop screen, that would be great. I see a bunch on Amazon but it's not clear which work with Panther/Tiger, which have Mac drivers, etc. Thank you!
    Mike

    Hi,
    Yes and no (Again)
Any Camera is going to have to suit your Mac and it's input ports.
iUSBCam Utility only works for iChat.
It was originally designed to get the External iSight working on G3 computer less that 600Mghz.
Very quickly they added in the USB 1.1 camera option (At a push you could get a USB 1.1 camera to work n a G3/450Mghz processor as well)
It only works for iChat though. Or rather it is need for iChat as it manipulates the video from the camera into something iChat will accept.
I am not that sure if the current version of Skype will work with an older Camera.
If it does it will still need a Mac Driver for it if you only have USB 1.1 port on your computer.
There are two main Third Party Drivers out there for this (If the camera Manufacturer does not supply a Mac Driver)
    Macam
    and IOXperts
The IOXperts site does list a Firewire Driver for earlier OS versions (As it was not included originally) the OS has Firewire driver form about OS 10.2
They also state on their Site some restriction and workaround are needed for certain apps.
    Summary.
The same info about camera types and Drivers still applies in the broadest sense.
You will not need the iSUBCam thing for Skype.
However I have not used Skype in some while and don't know if they still support USB 1.1 cameras.
    NOTES
In theory as Skype does not produce such good a Video Pic as iChat it uses less processor power to create the Video stream.
However strangely this can have positive effects in lower Spec Machines as they can then produce a coherent Stream rather than something that breaks up due to their Processor not keeping up.
You seem to mention that you have Laptop running Tiger and the specs suggest this is a G4
What is the Mac Mini's processor.
Panther itself is not the limiting factor.
It is Input ports and availability of cameras to suit that.
Any G4 processor is going to let you have one to one chats - subject to the Internet Access at each end (Hotels can be a nightmare).

Is it possible to hook a USB external hard drive to an iPad?.....the HD has video on it that I wanna watch on my iPad but don't wanna store it on iPad or iTunes....and way format does the video need to be in to watch on iPad?

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
    Another option:

  • Arch: Install to & run from External USB Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

I wanted to play with ArchLinux 2009.02, but replacing the existing Debian-Lenny on the laptop's HDD wasn't an option. So I experimented with installing Arch on an external USB Hard Disk Drive.
I have tried to make this "newbie-friendly", so I hope the more experienced will forgive the detail.
    Materials:
Three year old Dell Inspiron 6000
         CPU = 2.0 GHz Pentium
         RAM = 2.0 GB
         Internal HDD = 80 GB
         Internal CD/DVD R/RW
External USB HDD = Freecom FHD-2 Pro 80 GB
    Archlinux 2009.02 install CD
    Steps to install:
    1. I put the Archlinux install CD in the drive and connected the external 80 GB HDD in the USB port.
    2. When the Dell laptop was booted, I pressed F2 to enter the BIOS setup. I edited the boot sequence to the following:
         Internal CD/DVD
         External USB device
         Internal HDD
On the Dell, you can also press F12 to select the preferred boot device for that boot.
    3. I started the laptop and the Archlinux installation menu came up and I proceeded with installation following the "Official Arch Linux Install Guide" and the "Beginners Guide".
    4. Used km to change to UK keyboard layout and then began the installer script (/arch/setup). I was installing from the core CD so I skipped the network steps.
    5. HDD preparation.
This was fairly straightforward with two cautions:
         (a) Make very sure that the external HDD (sdb) is selected for the operations.
         (b) Remember to set the Bootable Flag for the first (/) partition on the HDD.
I chose 20 GB for /, 2 GB for swap and the remainder for /home.
    6. The package selection and installation was fairly straightforward.
    7. Configuration of System
This was section was straightforward with one warning:
USB had to be added to the HOOKS in the /etc/mkinitcpio.conf file!
I found this to be essential for my external USB HDD to function as a bootable device. Otherwise I got the same sorts of errors relating to unrecognisable file system types that other people have reported in the forum.
The relevant line from the end of the edited /etc/mkinitcpio.conf file is below:
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata usb filesystems"
    8. Installation of GRUB was the other point where caution and/or correction was necessary.
When it asked where GRUB should be installed, I had to select sdb (my external USB HDD) and not any of the particular partitions on sdb. If the root partition sdb1 was selected then the laptop won't boot from the external USB HDD.
The GRUB /boot/grub/menu.lst as written by the installation routine specifies hd(1,0) which doesn't work when you try to reboot from the external USB HDD. When you boot Arch from the external USB HDD, as far as Arch is concerned - at that point in time - the external USB HDD is the first drive in the system. To fix this:
         (a) When the Arch boot menu comes up, press e to edit the grub entries.
         (b) Change the first line to hd(0,0)
         (c) To the end of the kernel line add rootdelay=8
         (d) Press b to boot the system with these temporary corrections.
         (e) Once your Arch system has booted, edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst to make the above changes permanent.
The relevant portion of my /boot/grub/menu.lst looks like the following:
    # (0) Arch Linux
    title  Arch Linux
    root   (hd0,0)
    kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/... ro rootdelay=8
    initrd /boot/kernel26.img
    # (1) Arch Linux
    title  Arch Linux Fallback
    root   (hd0,0)
    kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/... ro rootdelay=8
    initrd /boot/kernel26-fallback.img
    9. The laptop happily and consistently boots Arch Linux from the external USB HDD when it's plugged in before startup/booting.
Running Arch from the external USB HDD seems as quick as running Debian from the internal HDD.
So if there is a performance penalty associated with using an external USB HDD, my wife and I haven't noticed.
In summary, the three essential points to address during installation to an external USB HDD are:
Remember to set the bootable flag for the first partition.
Add USB to the HOOKS for /etc/mkinitcpio.conf file.
         Correct the /etc/grub/menu.lst file.
    I hope this is helpful.
    Ted

    Hi Rookie,
As you say, it is worth remembering the rootfstype= option for the kernel line just in case someone still has problems with GRUB after making all the other changes.
I was working with the most recent Arch 2009.2 release.
I only got messages about unrecognisable file system type when I tried booting with the "stock" or "as-installed" GRUB (before I edited /boot/grub/menu.lst). After editing /boot/grub/menu.lst to identify the drive correctly and add rootdelay, GRUB was able to do the rest and everything worked OK without any error messages.

  • Windows XP SP2 - Camera driver will not load

Have the same problem on two different machines. iTunes sees the phone and all the things in it sync as expected, Contacts, Calendar, Pictures, Music, etc.
The first time I connected the phone after taking a picture, I get the pop up showing that Windows sees the Digital Still Camera. Shortly after that I get the "Windows encountered a problem" message stating that my new device might not work properly. The phone is connected directly to the PC's USB 2.0 port using the cable that came with the phone.
Device manager shows the Digital Still Camera with the yellow exclamation mark on the icon. The device status reports...
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware
because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)"
I removed iTunes 7.3.1 and reinstalled it. I removed the camera driver, rebooted, and let Windows re-recognize the camera. Same problem, both machines, both XP Pro SP2.
    Any ideas?
      Windows XP Pro

Resolved. No wonder I'm the only one that encountered this.
I use a Visioneer Strobe Pro USB sheet fed scanner.
    http://support.visioneer.com/products/mobile/EOL/StrobePro/
In Device Manager under Imaging Devices, it was showing Digital Still Camera (with the yellow exclamation mark) and Visioneer StrobePro USB Scanner.
On a whim, I decided to unplug the scanner. Then I closed the scanner driver via its icon in the system tray. Within a few seconds, Device Manager updated itself, Digital Still Camera had changed to Apple iPhone. Right away I got the 'Camera connected' dialog asking how I wanted to retrieve the photos from my device. It also shows up in My Computer under Scanners and Cameras. Problem solved.
Next I plugged my scanner back in and now it's got the yellow exclamation mark indicating a problem with the driver. No big surprise.
Once I disconnect the phone and plug the scanner back in, Device Manager updates again and the scanner driver shows back up without the yellow icon. Lastly I reload the scanner driver.
I'm not sure why these two conflict. Don't know if Windows forbids more than one imaging device to be connected at a time or what. Maybe the scanner driver is so old that it doesn't behave properly...it's certainly not certified on XP.

  • How do you communicate with a USB RAW camera

I have a USB camera which I am trying to control using LabView. I have followed the tutorial, Using NI-VISA 3.0 to Control Your USB Device, and the device is now recognized by MAX. The device came with demo software allowing me to control it through the PC, i.e. change exposure controls, white balance controls, tell it to stream video and when to capture a still image. All I really need to do with LabView is load initial settings to the camera, tell it when to begin streaming video, tell it when to take a still image, and tell it when to stop streaming video, but I have no idea how to talk to the camera from here. For example, I am not sure if my device uses Bulk, control, or an interrupt pipe, and I am not sure how I can read and write from my device even if I knew the appropriate pipe or endpoint. I also noticed that the "VISA USB RAW Control" VI has fields such as "request", "request type", "index", etc. I read some notes trying to figure out what these meant, but I couldn't find anything. With all that said can anybody name any tutorial/article(s) I should read that will help point me in the right direction?  Any help will be appreciated.

    Hello kd,
Dennis pointed you to the correct link.  You will need the NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras driver to acquire images from a DirectShow USB camera into LabVIEW.  As you can see from the attached table image, you will need the NI Vision Development Module 8.5 for LabVIEW 8.5.  You can determine which version of the NI Vision Development Module that you have installed by opening the NI Measurement and Automation Explorer, expanding the Software section under My System, and looking for an item called "NI Vision."  By single-clicking on the NI Vision item, you will bring up information, including the version number, in the Attributes tab off to the right.

  • Video controller (vga compatible) driver needed

Hi there!! i've compaq presario v6106au, Windows XP, n im looking for the video controller (vga compatible) driver. plz hlp!! send d exact link plz!

    Hello,
I recently uninstalled my disk drive because I unwisely followed some online advice. My computer has had problems the last few weeks and would freeze for a few seconds, then the screen resolution and colors would change. The colors would be really garish with greys, pinks, and yellows and a window would pop up saying my "igxprd32 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality." After I restarted my computer, everything would be fine again. However, I was getting really annoyed after this happened several times in the span of a few weeks and wanted to find a solution. So I typed in that exact phrase from the window and found a forum here:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/R-and-L-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/The-igxprd32-display-driver-has-stopped-...
The third post down, someone said to uninstall my display driver, restart my computer, and then update my driver. Apparently this person said installing an older driver would get rid of the problem. Since the original asker reported success, I gave this a go. When I did so, the resolution became even worse and all the icons were all too big. The colors were normal, but I hated how everything looked. My dad told me to right click the desktop, go to properties, settings, and set the resolution higher, which i did to 1024 by 768 pixels. The screen was somewhat normal, but things looked elongated. I was okay with this, but then I found out my stand by mode no longer works. I only have two options: Restart or Turn Off.
After googling again, I found this forum:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-performance/hybernate-and-standby-not-wo...
where they said to go to my device manager and see if anything had a yellow exclamation sign. The only thing that did have the sign was my Video Controller (VGA compatible) which was under Other Devices.
I googled again, and a forum advised to go to the HP website and go to the Support & Drivers to download my driver. I typed in my product # and a huge list came up. Are these all the drivers available for download? None of them say Video Controller. Please help, I don't know what to do and the Stand by option is incredibly important for me. Here is some info about my computer
    System:
    Microsoft Windows XPP Professional
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 3

    Computer:
    Joy Systems
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU

I appreciate any help you can give, please please respond.

  • When I was updating my iphone 4s, during the update, the USB plug came out, now all my phone show is the a picture of the USB cable and itunes icon

When my  iphone was updating it operating software, the USB cable came out of the port.  Now the screen will only show the USB cable and the itunes icon. It is not recognized by the itunes store.  I unintalled the USB driver for the iphone, but it still does not work.  I have turned off the phone and performed a reset.

Try another Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts. This usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons. If still problem you should Restore your iPhone with iTunes on computer. Here are simple steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Click Restore Button of iTunes.

  • USB 2 external drives not showing up

    Hi,
I have tried 2 USB 2 external drives with my Powerbook. Neither is recognized by the OS so I can't even try to format them. I was able to format the first one on my old 500 mhz Powerbook (Pismo, I guess) running OS 9.2.2 and turning it into a Standard Mac OS, Mac extended and then a DOS drive. None were recognized by the newer Powerbook and once I had formatted the drive to DOS I couldn't format it any other way. That drive, a WD My Passport Essential, was formatted when shipped as a Windows (FAT32?) drive.
My newer external drive, a Toshiba (who knows what model since they don't say anything on the box or drive), is not recognized by the OS either. It is probably formatted for Windows and I could try to format it on the old Powerbook but instead of going down that road I wonder if there is some reason I am not able to format it with the new one.
The USB ports work. Other devices, printers and a camera, always work when plugged into them.
The drives are USB 2.0. My Powerbook (both actually) uses USB 1. Is that the problem? I've read that USB 2 is backward compatible so I don't understand why I'm having such trouble getting either to work.
    All help is appreciated.
    Cheers,
    John

If these are bus-powered drives, they aren't getting enough power from the PB's USB ports to be fully operational. There are three remedies:
    1. Use external AC adapters with the drives if available.
    2. Plug the drives into an AC-powered USB hub instead of directly into the computer.
    3. Use a USB "Y" cable to draw power for the drive from two USB ports rather than just one.
USB 2 is backward-compatible with USB 1.1; that isn't the problem.
