Use Custom Jar in Enterprise OBPM

Hi,
We are using a JXL.jar(by importing the jar as an external resource) to create excel sheet. It is working correctly in the studio, but when we deploy it into the enterprise environment we get the below error:
Caused by: The task could not be successfully executed.
Reason: 'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jxl/Workbook'.
Caused by: jxl/Workbook
Can anybody let me know if there is something that needs to be done on the enterprise end to make this work?
Thanks.

Dan, Bitu,
I'm working with the original poster. The "'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jxl/Workbook'" error is observed (only) on our install of OBPM 10.3.1 Enterprise on WebLogic.
I do understand we can "force" the .jar to be loaded from WebLogic (thank you to Bitu's post on this thread, and also confirmed her java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError in OBPM sever ). However, that is not the ideal situation and we would like to troubleshoot at the OBPM level (why isn't the .jar loaded?)
Can you share with us what should normally happened when a .jar is deployed to the engine please? Should we expect an entry in the Directory (FUEGO_CATALOGJAR)? -- Because I currently don't see any JXL entry on this table.
I also observed that the versions 2.6.12 and 2.6.11 of the JXL api (that can be found here http://sourceforge.net/projects/jexcelapi/files/) cannot be introspected in Studio (throwing an error; I can share more details if needed), so we are using an older version. Can that be related perhaps?

document.close();Im using external jar file, of course I add it to classpath (right click soa project -> properties -> libraries and classpath ->add jar).
But I get folowing error (no during compilation, but during deploying):

Ensure that the class path is set correctly. If this happens on the server side, verify that the custom classes or jars which this BPEL process is depending on are deployed correctly. Also verify that the run time is using the same release/version.

  • Java 1.5 - Using custom .jar packages

    Hi,
For part of our Computer Science course we have a packge called cs2.jar which has all sorts of stack, deque etc classes in it. In my source code I insert:
import cs2.*;and my compile command is:
javac.exe -source 1.5 -classpath . %n%ewithin Ultraedit. I have placed the cs2.jar file in "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_01\lib\ext" as per our lecture's instructions, but my programs still can't insantiate the objects in the .jar file. Am I doing something wrong? Any assistance would be great.

  • How can I use custom WLST commands for Oracle SOA Suite in Weblogic

    Hi There,
I'm trying to view and search the weblogic log files using WLST on a Solaris/Unix system.
I have come across this "custom WLST commands for Oracle SOA Suite" and thought of using the custom logging commands to get my task done.
However, my WLST shell is not recognizing the commands and giving me the NameError!
    wls:/devDomain1/domainRuntime> listLogs()
    Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<console>", line 1, in ?
    NameError: listLogs
I tried the commands listLogs, displayLogs, getLogLevel & setLogLevel but in vain!
I have followed the instructions as per the oracle recommendation of using Custom WLST commands (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29597_01/core.1111/e10105/getstart.htm#ASADM10692) as below
    - Launched the WLST shell from Oracle Home.
    cd ORACLE_HOME/common/bin
    ./wlst.sh
    - Tried to run the listLogs command from domainRuntime()
I would like to know if I need to import any additional libraries to run the custom WLST commands for Oracle SOA Suite in my WLST shell?
I have only weblogic 10.3.1 server installed on my Solaris 10 machine on which I have deployed the OSB application software.
There is no SOA Suite installed.
Or is there any other way I can browse the Server Log file and get the list of log messages? Basically I would like to use this feature in my script to customize it according to my requirement of listing specific error logs which I can work it out if I know how to make these commands work.
Please advise if this is possible and how?
    Cheers.
    Satish

  • Not able to create a java class included in custom jar from script

    Hi,
We need to call a third-party web service from within SAP Sourcing and so we have created and deployed a custom JAR. However I am not able to create any of the custom classes included in this object. I have created a simple JAR file having just a "Hello World" message and got our BASIS team to deploy this (they deployed using the steps mentioned in Installation Guide Section 4.2.4 - we are using Sourcing Wave 9). I have added the required import statement in my test script and included this line:
    HelloWorld test = new HelloWorld();
When this script executes, it gives the error:
    Class:HelloWorld not found in namespace.
Can you please give your suggestions on how to fix this error?
    Thanks,
    Gayathri

The issue was fixed after including the custom jar in esourcing90/lib folder and redeploying

  • How to use custom API's

    Hi All,
In OIM how can i use my own/Custom API"S. Wher do i need to place the Jar/Class files. Like in other Identity Management tools (I only have the experience of SUN) you can place the files under WEB-INF/lib or WEB-INF/classes and then can easily use them, does OIM provides this/similar kind of functionality and how we can use that.

    Hi,
If you want to use custom API to create adapter then put the jar file in <OIM_Install>/xellerate/Java Task/
folder and if you want to use them to create task Schedular then put it in <OIM_Install>/xellerate/Schedular/

  • How to deploy custom jar (forms PJC)  file in R12.1.x

    Hi ,
we need use forms pjc connecting to client pc'com port with ebs form,
we can deploy with ias standard form server , but EBS 's appsweb.cfg
was automatically generated by AutoConfig , so i don't know how to config our jar in EBS env.
i had search document in metalink for serval days , can some help us to solve this problem !
    thanks for any help...
    BR,Nolem

Hi all, I am confronted by the same problem.
I have manually added my custom Jar files to the archive=2 section of the appsweb.cfg config file in the $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.2/forms/server and placed the Jar files in the $COMMON_TOP/java/classes/oracle/apps/fnd/jar.
I know that this is probably not the way to go, as autoconfig will override these settings, but my first priority is getting these jar files to run in Apps Forms without errors. I got as far as that my forms don't error out anymore but not all of them are working as they should. I am also trying to deploy the WebUitl utility in EBS R12. As far as I can tell this should be supported by Oracle as it comes as part of a standard Apps Installation (except for the Jacob.jar) it can be found in: $ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil directory and the WEBUTIL_CONFIG reference to the webutil.cfg file can be found in the default.env in the same directory as the appsweb.cfg.
If you want to look at some very good examples of PJC's there is a very good blog: http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com/. You can also look at Francois Degrelle's blog on Read/Write files on the client machine without Webutil.
Nevertheless information on how to deploy and run these PJC's under EBS is scarce. Metalink offers no solutions except very outdated notes.
I would appreciate to know how to properly deploy these jar files in EBS
I am also on 12.1.x. Btw there are more threads on this subject on OTN but most are outdated (threadID=1067917, 686329, 4246525) and don't provide the solution for EBS R12.1.x.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • How to include a SWC using custom Console?

Currently, it appears as if it is not possible to include an external SWC for use in a custom Console implementation.
For instance, assume that I have a SWC: Foo.swc that contains the class
    com.test::Foo
I also have a custom com.adobe.flascc.Console implementation which imports and uses com.test.Foo from the Foo.swc library.
I've managed to get my SWF to compile without a problem, but I get the following run-time error:
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class com.test::Foo could not be found.
Here's how I've setup the compile:
    CCC:=$(FLASCC)/usr/bin/g++
    Console.abc:
$(ASC) -merge -md -abcfuture -AS3 -optimize -strict \
                        -import $(call nativepath,$(FLASCC)/usr/lib/builtin.abc) \
                        -import $(call nativepath,$(FLASCC)/usr/lib/playerglobal.abc) \
                        -import $(call nativepath,$(FLASCC)/usr/lib/BinaryData.abc) \

                        -import $(call nativepath,$(FLASCC)/usr/lib/CModule.abc) \
                        -import $(call nativepath,$(FLASCC)/usr/lib/C_Run.abc) \
                        -li $(call nativepath,./aslibs/Foo.swc) \
                        -le $(call nativepath,./aslibs/framework.swc) \
                            Console.as -outdir . -out Console
    test.swf: Console.abc
              $(CCC) -jvmopt=$(JVMARGS) -Wall -g -O0 -fno-exceptions -o test.swf \
                        main.cpp \
                        -lAS3++ \
                        -fllvm-llc-opt=-ascopt=-li \
                        -fllvm-llc-opt=-ascopt=$(call nativepath,./aslibs/Foo.swc) \
                        -fllvm-llc-opt=-ascopt=-le \
                        -fllvm-llc-opt=-ascopt=$(call nativepath,./aslibs/framework.swc) \
                        -symbol-abc=Console.abc \
                        -emit-swf \
                        -swf-size=800x600
I've also attempted adding -no-swf-preloader assuming that the problem was linkage in the first frame, but this did not work either.
If I only use asc2.jar to generate a SWF (using the -li and -le options), it works, but I need access to the libraries via flascc Console.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Matt Bolt

Thanks for the response and the suggested work-around! This solution worked exactly as you described and was precisely the result I was looking for.
--- Some Follow Up Ranting and Questions ---
Was the behavior I mentioned in my previous post a bug? It seems like the issue may be due to the following:
    * Compiling .as to .abc referencing a swc will simply refer to the contents of the swc to resolve external references and there's nothing in the abc itself referring to the external library (Could be way off here).
    * Compiling .as to .swf will resolve fully.
    * Because we compile Console to abc first, we lose the ability to resolve external references before going to SWF.
If the above statements are correct, then -li and -le behave identically when compiling to .abc, and the behavior mentioned in my previous post would make sense.
What is strange to me is that the ASC provides a way to compile to .abc but no way to link .abc and output a swf. Perhaps it's because of the loss of data that occurs (full resolution tracks dependencies in memory).
I'm not sure that what I'm claiming is even remotely close to the truth, but it seems accurate based on my observations. If anyone knows for sure, please feel free to set me straight.

  • Custom jars are not getting picked up from in ucm

    Hi,
Please let us know the location in ucm installation where we can place db2 jars as well custom jars so that they can be availabe in classpath and can be used. We are trying to place it in /instancename/app/shared location. Please let me know if there is any other location where in which if we place the jars tye will be avaialbe in classpath.
    Thanks,
    Kesava

    Hi,
Actually we have written a custom listener component which will get check in profile attributes and convert each attribute to html tags. In addition to it we are calling db2 database for placing few records into it. Our ucm installed DB is oracle and db2 is not our main database. We are making db2 calls in order to store few things from the content. We installed ucm in linux server. Now in which physical path we need to place our db2 jars and custom code jars so that they will be available to our listener component . As of now we placed them under "wcmldev/app/custom/ampfacfastsearchlistener/lib/" path, where "wcmldev" is our instance name and "ampfacfastsearchlistener" is our custom component. Please suggest us how to overcome this issue. Also please address if in case if we need to develop any other components we can directly go to that place and put jars and make them available in classpath.
    Thanks,

  • Custom classpath and custom jar entry in R12

    Hi all,
I have created the custom classpath and custom jar file for isrore process. I had put custom jar and custom class entry in orien_application.xml file. But it was working on R12 at doveloper mode. It will creates the classes for custom jsp file using custom import class or custom jar. But once i revert back the devloper mode means it won't work.
    Could you please help..

Oracle apps R12 - Compiling JSP with custom classpath
We all know that to compile JSP manually on the Oracle Application R12 instance, we need to run the file $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/ojspCompile.pl.
    Its help is as follows:
    syntax: ./ojspCompile.pl COMMAND {ARGS}
COMMAND --compile               update dependency, compile delta
    --create                rebuild entire dependency file
-delta.out update dependency, list delta to file
-dep.out update dependency, output heirarchy to file
ARGS -s matching condition for JSPs filenames
    -p number of parallel compilations
-log to override logfile from ojspCompile.conf
    You are
recommended to set the log file location
outside of any network file system shared (NFS) area/drive.
    -conf to override ojspCompile.conf
--retry         retry previously failed compilation attempts
--flush         forces recompilation of all parent JSPs
--quiet         do not provide an actively running progress meter
--fast          instantly fail jsps that are possibly invalid
    example1: ojspCompile.pl compile -s 'jtf%' -p 20 retry
    example2: ojspCompile.pl compile -s 'jtflogin.jsp,jtfavald.jsp' flush
    example3: ojspCompile.pl compile fast --quiet
If your JSP uses custom classes, then compiling jsp manually can fail if proper classpath is not set. Yes, even though if you have setup the classpath correctly in orion-application.xml, it will fail because this jsp compile utility does not read orion-application.xml classpath.
So, the problem is to identify where to set the classpath so that above utility can pick it up. After several search and looking into code, I found following:
By default, the jsp compiler script uses following configuration file
    $INST_TOP/appl/admin/ojspCompile.conf
This conf file has a classpath field in it which is usually pointed to file
    $INST_TOP/appl/admin/ojspCompile.properties
This property file lists the classpath used for JSP compilation.
So if your classes are not listed in this file, your jsps will not compile by ojspCompile.
Ofcourse, you can always set the "main_mode" to "recompile" in orion-web.xml, but that for production you do not want to change it and compile the JSP on file deployment.

  • Crystal Reports with BEx Query using Custom Exit Variable

    Hi,
We have BW BEx Query using Customer User Exit variable to derive  the Fiscal Week for Last Year (called it VAR2) based on another user input variable Current Fiscal Week (called it VAR1).
VAR2 is derived from VAR1 in CMOD via some codings and thus it DOES NOT have the "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx. VAR1 is user input variable, so it has "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx.
When we create a Crystal Reports with the BEx Query using variable VAR2, and when we run it we got an error message saying "Failed to execute query; '[]<java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No Selection State Support!ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK>'. Redesign your query or contact the data source maintainer to solve the problem".  (note: ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK is VAR2 in this case).
Could anyone please assist? Surely, CR supports BEx customer user exit variables like the above, right?. I also refer to the forum below as it seems to have a similar issue (except mine with an error message), but it does not provide a solution in it.

  • Detecting when exception was thrown using custom class loader

    Hello all,
I would like to implement the solution described here - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/75218/how-can-i-detect-when-an-exceptions-been-thrown-globally-in-java - that uses custom class loader in order to detect when an Exeption thrown somewhere in the JVM hosting my app, please note that exceptions might be thrown from 3rd party jars the app is using. So, thanks to help I got from another post, I've managed to code the custom class loader. My question is how can the class loader wrap the original exception, as the methods in ClassLoader deals with classes, not instances. So where should I set the original exception?
    Thanks!

This is what I did so far. For the exception wrapper I made a simple class extens Exception that recieve Exception in its ctor and store it. I also subclassed ClassLoader and override its loadClass(). I've registered it as the system classloader. My thinking was to check in that point that if the requested class is instance of Exception and if yes, returning my wrapper class wrapping this exception. But, since loadClass() return class, how can I set in the wrapper the original exception?
In addition, let's say 2 different places in the code throws NPE, to my understanding the classloader will load NPE only once, so how throwing the NPE in the second time can be detected?you are missing a key point. you should creating a custom implementation of the NPE class which hooks into your detection code in its constructor. from that point forward, anytime any NPE (which is your custom class) is constructed, you can detect it.

  • Unable to connect to database which uses custom NLS charset

    Hello,
I have custom character set installed on my database. I'm trying to connect to DB using OCI driver. On the client machine (Linux), I have Oracle 10g Release 2 installed. Custom character set is installed on the client side too and SQL*Plus connection works fine. Both NLS_LANG and ORA_NLS10 environment variables are set correctly.
When I'm trying to connect via JDBC, I'm getting the following error:
java.sql.SQLException: Character Set Not Supported !!
         at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:112)
         at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:146)

         at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:525)
         at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:171)
    and so on...
The same code works fine on my computer (I have 9i client here). As I have read from various sources across the internet, Oracle 10g JDBC driver uses own character set conversation methods, encoded in orai18n.jar, it does not pay attention to NLS_LANG, etc.
So, my question is: do I need to create own character set for JDBC? And if so, is there a chance to generate it from existing .nlt files or I need to build them from scratch?

Sorry, I think it will be better if I move this post to "Globalization Support" forum : Unable to connect to database which uses custom NLS charset
