Use form name insted of complete path

Hi.
I am using 6i. i developed many forms and save them in one folder. when i want to open another form through a main form i always have to use a complete path(address) of other form like (D:/HR-SYSTEM/POSTING.FRM)
I always face problem when i have to deply my project at other than D drive.
Is there any posibity to use only form name insted of complete path.
thnx

Hi Dear;
It is very easy, you only create the global variable on main form, and when want to call any form then you only give the name of the form then it will run very easilly.
for example,
U will wirte this one line code in main form which will run firsttly,
:GLOBAL.MY_FORM_PATH := 'D:\PROJECTS\FORMS\'
and when you call nay form you write only this code,
CALL_FORM(:GLOBAL.MY_FORM_PATH||'PAY_ROLL_FORM.FMX');
WHEN YOU WANT TO CHANGE ANY DRIVE THEN YOU WILL ONLY CHANGE ONE LINE CODE IN YOUR APPLICATION LIKE IF YOU CHANGE THE DRIVE FROM D TO E YOU ONLY DO THIS....
:GLOBAL.MY_FORM_PATH := 'E:\PROJECTS\FORMS\'
OK I HOPE IT WILL WORK... THX.

  • How to use form name in struts html:form tag

    Hi,
    I want to validate text box value, if it is ordinary html form I would have done like this <form name="myform" action="xxxx.jsp" onsubmit="return validate()">
    But am using struts html:form tags. In this case how can I use/specify name for a form.
    Can any one help me.
    Thanks

    The name of the form comes from the actionForm you have defined backing it.
    View source on the generated page to see what HTML it constructs.
    You are able to use the onsubmit event with the <html:form> tag just like the standard one, so if all you want to do is that:
    <html:form action="/saveUser" onsubmit="return validate()">
    ...You can also give it a styleId, which will generate an id in the HTML.
    See the tag documentation for details: http://struts.apache.org/1.2.x/userGuide/struts-html.html#form

  • Using form name for link in emails

    Hi
    I find the formscentral service great. One thing that would improve it is if, instead of the long string link to the form I could use the name I gave to the form - for example I have a form titled CYC Member Record Update. I'd like to have that as the link rather than the https://adobeformscentral.com/?f=*IPPjKP7FXHxn8nF7aDO0g provided. Can we do this please?

    is there any alternatives in java
    I need path and have to calculate MD5, Presumably you need to calculate MD5 on the contents of the file and not on the name of the file.
    and convert the file to binary format.... etc oprations on itSorry, "convert a file to binary format" is basically meaningless.
    but we can get the content of the file using
    byte [] get()/ getString() methods
    If i get content is there any performance degrades?
    ie if the content is lengthy is it take more time?Take more time than what? Degrading performance from what? It's certainly true that it would be quicker to not upload the file, but that's a pointless comparison. If you have some other process to compare with, let us know what it would be.

  • How to use P=name for Physical path name via t-cd:file

    Hello experts,
    I want to define physical path name using <P=name> for add-on programs.
    It is desirable to save files on another drive from SAP installed drive.
    I don't know which profile parameter can be changed.
    I'm afraid if standard logic wouldn't work when I change a parameter.
    I'm not sure, but DIR_TEMP doesn't seem to affect standard logic.
    What parameter should I use for add-on?
    Or can I create own profile parameter?

    In my detail block I have 10 rows displaying that may or may not have data after querying. To set the default value in the detail block, you have to set the index value of p_session.set_value. Since I don't know how many rows are already populated, I'm setting the default value to all 10 rows. Is there a better approach?
    Here's my code example, which I've placed in the additional PL/SQL section before displaying the form...
    DECLARE
    l_district_id VARCHAR2(7);
    BEGIN
    l_district_id := p_session.get_value_as_varchar2
    (p_block_name => 'MASTER_BLOCK',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_DISTRICT_ID');
    FOR i in 1 .. 10 LOOP
    p_session.set_value
    (p_block_name => 'DETAIL_BLOCK',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_DISTRICT_ID',
    p_value => TO_CHAR(l_district_id), p_index => i);
    END LOOP;
    END;

  • HOw do I save a form once it is completed for future use in windows 7

    How do I save an adobe form once I have completed it for future use? I have windows 7 and the only option is to save a blank form.

    That could be caused by a couple of reasons.
    If it is an IRS form, they use a server side solution to enable forms so Reader users can save them. It's very expensive and word is that they have not updated this solution to work with the latest versions of Reader. So you would have to use the older version.
    With the new version of Acorbat, people can now enable forms so Reader users can save them (which is a much cheaper solution than the above scenario) but you need Adobe Reader 7 or better to use this function.

  • How to get HTML form name for use in Portal Form's custom layout?

    I want to add a date selector to a Portal Form but the NAME attribute of the FORM HTML tag is dynamic.
    To add a calendar icon that opens a date selector, I add the following tags to the custom layout after the date form field:
    <img src="/images/calendar.gif" height="16" width="16" border="0">
    The <form field name> is static, but the <form name> appears to be dynamic (e.g. WWVM3115, WWVM3116, WWVM3117, ...).
    The custom layout uses substitution variables for the form fields and labels. Is there a substitution variable for the form name?

    Here's the javascript function someone recommended several years ago (on an oracle portal forum) that I've used successfully to reference fields in non-portlet portal forms:
    function findItem(pFieldName) {
    var vFormElements = document.forms[0].elements;
    for(var i = 0; i < vFormElements.length; i++) {
    if (vFormElements.name.indexOf("."+pFieldName+".") > -1) return i;
    document.write(i);
    return -1;
    You can then reference the portal form field name using the column/field name only:
    document.forms[0].elements[(findItem('COLUMN_NAME_HERE'))]

    hi
    How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
    Solution
    Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
    here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
    Note: Oracle_Home is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
    Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
    Oracle_Home with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
    copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
    1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
    and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
    2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
    C:\webutile is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
    cd C:\webutile
    copy jacob.jar Oracle_Home\forms\java\.
    copy jacob.dll Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\.
    The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
    3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
    Open a DOS command prompt.
    Add Oracle_Home\jdk\bin to the PATH:
    set PATH=Oracle_Home\jdk\bin;%PATH%
    Sign the files, and check the output for success:
    Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\sign_webutil Oracle_Home\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
    Oracle_Home\forms\webutil\sign_webutil Oracle_Home\forms\java\jacob.jar
    4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
    you may skip this step. Otherwise,
    Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
    connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
    for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
    Open Oracle_Home\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
    out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
    errors.
    Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
    CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
    GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
    CONNECT webutil/webutil@rcci
    @Oracle_Home\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
    -- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
    Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
    grant execute on webutil_db to public;
    5) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\default.env, and append Oracle_Home\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
    to the CLASSPATH entry.
    6) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\formsweb.cfg insde [default] add :
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
    archive=frmall.jar
    also add :
    [webutil]
    WebUtilLogging=off
    WebUtilLoggingDetail=normal
    WebUtilErrorMode=Alert
    WebUtilDispatchMonitorInterval=5
    WebUtilTrustInternal=true
    WebUtilMaxTransferSize=16384
    baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
    baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
    baseHTML=webutilbase.htm
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar
    WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar,f90all.jar
    archive=frmwebutil.jar,f90all.jar
    lookAndFeel=oracle
    7) Modify Oracle_Home\forms\server\webutil.cfg and add :
    transfer.database.enabled=TRUE
    transfer.appsrv.enabled=TRUE
    8) Start the OC4J instance
    9) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
    Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
    It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in Note 303682.1
    If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
    full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
    10) Create a new FMB.
    Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
    There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
    Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
    Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
    NULL;
    to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
    Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
    show_webutil_information (TRUE);
    in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
    Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
    11) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
    the "Application Server URL" is empty.
    Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
    http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
    12) Run your form.

    Have you looked in the IMG menu path: Financial Accounting > Financial Accounting Global Settings > Withholding Tax > (either Withholding Tax or Extended Withholding Tax) > Generic Withholding Tax Reporting > Define Output Groups.
    View the output group used in the S_P00_07000134 selection screen.  In the Printouts section, Printout 1 and Printout 2 have smart forms identified, either Smart Form or PDF form types.

    PS: I have intalled the Oracle EBS VIS, and the OS is WinXP(ZHS).

    Yes, that's right.
    I have fixed this error.
    At the same time, I found a bug when installing Oracle EBS DEMO. That is,
    FORM60_PATH in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE,is $AU_TOP\11.5.0\resource;$AU_TOP\11.5.0\form\us; But another one in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME2 is $AU_TOP\11.5.0\resource;$AU_TOP\11.5.0\plsql. I think the second one is the working path used by Form Builder. Correcting it to be same with the first one will be OK. Or you can change all of them to your own working path.
    PS: Form builder is installed in the server PC which I only have:)
