Use Homepage SSL certificate as exchange server certificate?

the certicate needs to match the fully qualified domain name that you connect against.
so if the web site uses www.domain.de and the echange server's OWA/Activesync is owa.domain.de it wont match and you'll get errors. However if the SSL cert is wildcard to *.domain.de you'll be OK.

Hi there,
im a little certificate dau
i have a certificate for our homepage which certifies on "Domain123.de".
Is it possible to use this certificate for our mail server? (exchange 2007)
The mail domain is "[email protected]"
Our AD Domain is "Domain456.local"
I hope you can help me here.

Olivia, hopefully by now you have solved your issue but just for the sake of answering that question here so that people having the same issue can later find it I'll go through the motions:
there are a couple of ways you can achieve this.
    A. get a certificate for free out there
    B. generate your own self signed "fake" certificate.
certutil will certainly let you do this, here's how:
    1. First, create a file/directory layout to store your certificates
mkdir -p /path/to/certificates/selfsignedCA2. Initialize a database for the certificate you want to create
    certutil -N -d /path/to/certificates/selfsignedCA -P "ca-"3. Create a self-signed CA certificate
    certutil -S -x -n "ca-cert" -s "cn=SelfSigned CA Certificate,dc=yourSuffix" -t CTPu -v 120 -d /path/to/certificates/selfsignedCA -P "ca-" -5Note: when prompted, select choice (5) SSL CA and 'y' for critical extensions
    4. Export the your newly created self-signed CA certificate in PEM format
    certutil -L -d /path/to/certificates/selfsignedCA -P "ca-" -n "ca-cert" -a > /path/to/certificates/selfsignedCA.pemthat should get you going

  • RV042 giving out router certificate instead of server certificate

Just installed RV042 router. And it's giving out router certificate instead of server certificate so people who are trying to access our secured server are getting errors. I'm not talking about remote management. I'm talking about people trying to access our web site, which is secured, and getting an error because the RV042 is giving its own SSL certificate instead of the Server's certificate.
How do we turn that off or keep it from happenning?
    The RV042 firm version is v4.0.0.07-tm (Aug 19 2010 19:19:50)
    Thank You,

    Hi Angel,
I want to have more details about the issue and the error message when you trying to connect or if you have any log in your server you can share with us because it looks a certificate error
also, I want to have more details about the certificate on the server like :
    * common name ,Organisational unit,Company,City, State Country.
Can you ensure the Common name on the server certificate configured with the full domaine name like portal.example.biz not only with example.biz or portal .
and what is the configuration on RV042 regarding the server

  • Upgrade SSL Certificate for Exchange Server

    Hi Folks,
I need to upgrade the SSL certificate on my Exchange Server, so he can negotiate encryption and authorization to an upstream SMTP Smart Host.  This means that the certificate I need is not necessarily a server certificate, because in this scenario Exchange
Server is acting as a client to the upstream SMTP Smart Host.  I have openssl at my disposal, so making the certificate in not a problem but installing it in the correct location and testing that I've done what I think I've done is.
    Thanks for the help,
    Chris.
    Thanks for the help,

    Hi,
Please just make sure the primary certificate in your Exchange server with

  • Using iPhone with a Microsoft Exchange Server

    Hi
Is it possible to connect the iphone to a Microsoft Exchange Server to access your emails?
    Thanks

    Ryan Simmons,
Exchange's ActiveSync protocol which requires licensing a propietary protocol from Microsoft is what you are asking for.
IMAP is one additional port open, and can be encrypted with SSL. If they are concerned about an additional port open, VPN is an option. Then only when the VPN is active will the corporate email be available. The other argument that has been advanced on security is on Windows Mobile devices the server can ask for remote wipes of data from the phone. The iPhone only caches emails, and goes back to the server to download them again when you go to view them again. If you change the password for the account on the server, the same results occur - the email is not available on the device the next time that account is accessed from the iPhone.
This article contains an outline of the things needed on the server to support:

  • Using Mail 3.1 with Exchange Server

    First post here !
I've successfully got MS Entourage working with our Exchange Server here at work. However, I am having problems using Mail 3.1 working with the Exchange Server. For some reason, auto complete of LDAP addresses is not working. My settings are as follows for Entourage:
" User ID is users domain user name, password is domain password and domain is "ourcompany.co.uk"
Then I entered ourcompanyexch03name.co.uk in Exchange server box.
And domain1.ourcompany.co.uk in the LDAP server box "
This all works fine in Entourage but Mail will not Automatically complete addresses.
    Any ideas??

I can only confirm that I have the same problem, both in Mail and Address book. It works in Entourage and it used to work in Tiger (at least in the last versions).
When using Address book I get the following console messages when I entered "boivie" as search string:

  • Using Mac Mail to view Exchange server account

So my iPhone 3GS has no difficulty syncing e-mails, contacts, calendars from my workplace exchange server, but I can't sync these same workplace e-mails, contacts, etc... with Mac Mail on my home computer. My computer apparently can't recognize the exchange server account, and the IT guy at work says that you can only sync phones to our work server, not home computers. Does that make sense? Or am i just not setting up Mac Mail properly (something like changing the Port #?). I guess I just don't understand how phones can sync but computers can't...
Any help would be much appreciated.

In the world of Microsoft Exchange, that makes sense. iPhones use a network technology called Active Sync, which is designed for mobile devices. Mail uses Exchange Web Services which has more functionality.
If your Exchange server supports a third technology called IMAP, then you can configure Mail to use that instead of EWS.

  • Can't send Attachments using Mail to connect toe Exchange Server 2007

I struggle to send any emails with even the smallest of attachments via Mac Mail using Exchange 2007. I receive mail ok (intermittently slow but ok) although the Exchange Account does beach ball alot when checking for new mail. However, replying or sending an email that contains an attachment, even a small logo is a nightmare.

I am using Mail 4.4 on Mac OS X 10.6.6 on an iMac. We use Exchange 2007 and it's run and managed by Microsoft "Microsoft Business Productivity Online Standard Suite" We are not allowed to change server settings. I am the only one in a small, remote-workforce company that lives in the UK and I keep being told that is the issue. However, I've found too many people with similar problems on the web to believe that, but I haven't found an answer. Any ideas??

I've got 38 iPhones deployed running the 3.1.2 OS against an Exchange 2007 server. Several of my users complain about the same issue, and I've seen it myself. I have found a workaround of sorts - I've found that if I've sent a message with an attachment and I get a failure to send, if I manually browse down to the Sent Items folder, that forces a replication of the Sent Items. The next time I do a manual sync, the e-mail with the attachment will go.
I presume this has something to do with Exchange trying to put a copy of the e-mail in to your Sent Items at the same time the iPhone is trying to send the message.
Potentially, this might be solved by turning off the option to always store your sent e-mails in the Sent Items. I have not yet tested that as a workaround as from a corporate standpoint and an ease-of-use standpoint, we want that e-mail in the Sent Items for reference.
If anyone has any success with this fix, please let me know.

  • Exchange 2007 Certificate Expired Error when using VPN

We recently did a server migration to a new domain (split away from part of the company - sept 2013).  I set up the exchange certs and everything worked fine, even when people used the vpn.  Recently (it probably started a few months ago) it has
started giving cert errors again, but just for VPN users.
This happens when someone takes their computer or has Outlook 2010 set up on their home computer.  They VPN in and when the program starts, it gives the certificate errors for exchange and for autodiscover saying "The security certificate has expired
or is not yet valid".  I have checked to make sure that the certs are in fact up to date and are pointing to the correct certificates in IIS.  They haven't changed since I originally set them up.
One of the users sent me a picture of the certificate and it is the old cert (that is expired) that used to belong to the previous address when we used the other (completely different) exchange server.  The other users haven't sent me the errors they
see, but I assume they are similar.  They are able to use exchange if they hit ok on the error box.  I couldn't find anywhere online saying that there was any kind of local caching for certs - it should always call home when connecting.  So
why are their systems pulling up the old cert when they VPN in, but not when they are hardwired to the internal network on the same computer?
When using the internal network without the vpn, there aren't any error messages.
Any ideas?  I've looked around the forums, but I didn't see anything that has helped.  I'm using godaddy for my certs currently.

    Hi,
Since the Outlook clients work well without VPN, I suggest re-build the VPN (if you don't mind) to verify whether it is a caches issue.
    Thanks

  • Certificate for Exchange 2013

    Hi
Do I need to import certificate on mailbox servers

Agree with Adam. You can go through below article series on managing certificates in Exchange 2013.
Managing Certificates in Exchange Server 2013 (Part 1)
    Also check below...
---- One key difference between Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 is that the certificates that are used on the Exchange 2013 Mailbox server are self-signed certificates. Because all clients connect to an Exchange 2013 Mailbox server through an Exchange 2013
Client Access server, the only certificates that you need to manage are those on the Client Access server. The Client Access server automatically trusts the self-signed certificate on the Mailbox server, so clients will not receive warnings about a self-signed
certificate not being trusted, provided that the Client Access server has a non-self-signed certificate from either a Windows certification authority (CA) or a trusted third party. There are no tools or cmdlets available to manage self-signed certificates
on the Mailbox server. After the server has been properly installed, you should never need to worry about the certificates on the Mailbox server. ---- Exchange 2013 certificate

  • Invalid server certificate yahoo mail

droid x ver 2.3.3 when using yahoomail i sometimes get invalid server certificate. i delete account reinstall and its a crap shoot if it will work.sometimes i get certificate from the server is not validated.really getting to be a pain as this as been going on for months.

After the Gingerbread update, I was never able to get my Hotmail to re-sync.  Always got an "Invalid Certificate" message.  Tried re-boot, battery pull, soft re-boot  (I was not willing to do a factory re-set).  Just gave up.   Intermittently had the problem with Yahoo.  Almost gave up, but last time I deleted and re-added the account, it seemed to do the trick, for a month or so.
Lost it again yesterday, with the invalid certificate message.  Seems others did as well (yesterday), which may suggest the derivation of the problem is not with the users.
Following the suggestion here, I tried to perform an "uncheck" of the "verify certificate," but I also do not see that anywhere.
Pretty frustrating to not be able to sync all accounts, and have to periodically deal with this problem, following the Gingerbread update.

  • RV042 giving out certificate instead of server

RV042 router is giving out the outer certificate  instead of server certificate. Outlook anywhere is failing and we are receiving certificate errors for any secure site behind this firewall.  I'm not talking  about remote  management. I'm talking about people trying to access our  web site,  which is secured, and getting an error because the RV042 is  giving its  own SSL certificate instead of the Server's certificate.  Firmware Version:  1.3.13.02-tm.  I don't see any updates for that  hardware.  I do have it working on an RV042 with the same firmware at a different location.
How do we turn that off or keep it from happenning?

The fix that worked for me was to totally turn off https access to the router.  Remote access had not been emabled but internal was responding on 443.  Going to straight HTTP stopped it from responding to HTTPS requests.

've created a self signed certificate using the java keytool. When attempting to install the certificate as a Server Certificate using iPlanet 4.1 Server Manager,I receive an error writing to the certificate file. I can install this same certificate as a Trusted CA certificate.
Is there anything I should do different when generating the certificate if I'm going to be using it as a server certificate?

When starting CMS from command line, it starts correctly, but when i'm trying to start from the admin console, it doesn't work. Also, i tried start from command line and open from admin console, but the admin console says "server off" and the server is already started.

  • Delayed received emails Using Outlook 2010 and Exchange Server 2010 SP3

    Hi,
Some of our users are encountering delayed emails. When our clients sent email to us, some of our clients received this an hour late, sometimes they will received this the next day.
Our users uses Outlook 2010 and our Exchange Server is 2010. We have already patch this to SP3 as it says that the delayed emails was already fixed in this SP3 but we still encounter the delayed emails.
    Thanks.
    Collins.

    Hi Collins,
In order to narrow down this issue, please use OWA to send and receive a test email, see whether the delay will still happen or not.
From your description, the issue happens when certain users receive emails from internal. I recommend you use message tracking log to determine which step delays.
