Use Keynote app to remote-control Keynote on iCloud?

I have the Keynote app on my phone, but I cannot afford a Mac, and therefore do not have the option of remote controlling Keynote on a Mac. I have a Windows machine, so I need to know if it is possible to remote-control the iCloud version of Keynote using the Keynote app?

Update: It's not possible to use your phone to control Keynote on your Windows computer.

  • How to prevent others use their iDevices to remote control apple tv?

    Hi All,
I'm wondering that does anyone know how to prevent others use their iDevices to remote control my apple tv?
    settings
    1. the apple tv is in the school.
    2. all students could access the Internet
    3. The apple tv is sharing the same Internet with students.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The remote app uses homesharing, therefore anyone wanting to control an Apple TV with the remote app would need to know the home sharing ID and password.

  • Using Front Row with remote control?

    Hi,
Can anyone please advise if I can activate Front Row using the remote control in OSX Server?
Before I upgrade from OSX 10.4 to 10.5 Server, the remote control was working fine. I believe OSX Server may have disabled it? Is there anyway to enable it?
    Many Thanks!

Hmm.. found it under Security setting...
    Thanks !

  • Trying to connect the RD app to remotely control a laptop running Win 7 Pro 64bit

Can you please advice which changes I need to do on the Win 7 laptop to be able to connect to it from the RD client app? thanks!

    Hi,
If the device you runs the RD App and your Windows 7 laptop are in the same network, you can just refer to the steps in this article to configure your Windows 7.
Allow someone to connect to your computer using Remote Desktop Connection
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/allow-someone-to-connect-to-your-computer-using-remote-desktop-connection
However, if they are not in the same network, you may also need to configure your network device.
Allow Remote Desktop connections from outside your home network
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/allow-remote-desktop-connections-from-outside-your-home-network
    Hope this helps.

  • Why can't I use datasocket read to remotely control a control?

Ok, so using the front panel, I can configure a control to subscribe to a remote dataitem...and be controlled by that value as well as local button pushing. But when I try to use the diagram graphic code, I'm told that a control can not READ from a remote dataitem. But I just subscribed using the front panel config. I don't get it!

If you're attempting to wire the output of a datasocket read directly to a front panel CONTROL, then no that won't work. You can write to a local variable however.

  • DVD Remote Control buttons don't work when using regular DVD player

I created a DVD using DVD Studio Pro (version 3.0.2) and am unable to navigate through any menus or buttons using the DVD players remote control. I can press the play button on the actual DVD player and play the movie. How can I fix this issue? Any suggestions would be helpful!
I never changed the default setting on the file I made and the DVD works just fine in the simulator as well as any computer DVD player. Also, is there a way to make sure the DVD will play on all DVD players even if it doesn't read burned DVDs?
    Thanks for the help!

Not sure if I can add anything here - you're in good hands! I'd like to know how you constructed the menus - did you use photoshop layers for the background and overlay, or did you use a pict file? Are these motion menus or static?
About the compatibility - a burned disc will only ever be about 85% compatible with the number of DVD players out there, and if a DVD player states that it cannot read from DVD-R or DVD+R discs then it most likely won't play your disc. The only way to approach full compatibility is to have the disc replicated, but the cost of this usually means it is not worth while for anything less than 500 to 1000 discs at a time. If you are using DVD±R then all you can do is take steps to make sure the disc is as compatible as it can be, such as keeping the MPEG encode less than 7.5MBPS, using AC3 audio, not applying paper labels and so on.
Compatibility is getting better in general, this summer I have burned in excess of 90 individual projects on DVD-R (and duplicated each one up to seven times each) for playback on consumer players and only one came back (so far). When I looked at it there was a chunk missing from the surface of the disc, which probably explained the error!

  • Using the remote control.

I noticed that the Apple knowledge based article describing the functions of the remote hasn't been updated to reflect the v 3 Apple tv software. I suspect there are a few users who don't get to use all the features of the Apple tv because they aren't necessarily aware of all the things the remote will do.
In an effort to try to ensure that users get the best out of their Apple TV's I have now produced my own list of functions that are accessible using the remote control. In doing this I realised it involved a little more work than I'd envisaged since the remote performs many functions which can vary depending on which type of content you are using.
I'd be grateful if those of you that are familiar with the Apple tv would take a critical look at what I have done and provide me with feedback on any inaccuracies, omissions or improvements that could be made in relation to the information I have provided.

It was actually, I didn't think I'd need to do quite so much checking that things did what it says.
2 - Having result on the left initially confused me, I think I'd find Action>Result better than Result < Action.</div>
I see the point, but it could possibly be resolved by renaming 'result' as aim, goal or something similar rather than reversing the body text itself. I was trying to emulate the way Apple themselves did this on their KB (Reason I did this - their KB is out of date)
3 - Probably a bit too much information on one page.
Perhaps split into a tabbed layout
    Remote | Basic Controls | Music | TV Shows | Films/Movies etc.
Noted, I'm still not happy with the formatting, it needs work, it might not work too well in some browsers, a tabbed page is a little more than my iweb capabilities at present (or at least the way I would want it to work - tabs within a page rather than tabs to change pages)

Mmmm, not sure about that, I'm always concerned my text is already too large (necessity of white on black), might it not simply make an already long page a bit longer.

  • Remote Control on C540 All-in-one

    I just purchased a C540 All-in-One, with Windows 8, recently upgraded to 8.1
It can be also used as a TV or video recorder, and I run, successfully, the AVerMedia TV Player App, setting up correctly the TV and channels tuning (I used mouse and keyboard)
However, I failed to use the IR Remote Control. It simply doesn't have any effect on the PC.
I checked with the vendor, also using a different PC and a different Remote Control, with the same negative results.
Batteries have been replaced and IR Driver has been upgraded: no joy.
Since it is a brand new PC I don't think is a hardware problem, rather than a software one. I checked on the Users Manuals (PC and Remote Control), but I couldn't find any useful info (Indeed, the Remote Control User Guide is very poor).
Is there any solution to this problem?

I spent some time (2 hrs) again with the vendor, trying to solve the issue.
The only result we got is that, when the PC is in suspended status, it can be resumed by pressing "ON" button of the IR Remote Control. That's all.
My suspect is therefore confirmed: it isn't a hardware issue. It lokks like the IR Remote Controller and the PC can talk eachother, but they speak different languages.
It is quite a surprise that I couldn't find any information on the use  (Settings? Activation?) of the remote control, nor in the topics of this forum. Really I'm the only one trying to watch TV on the PC? Are there any users of a C540 who can tell me their experience?
    Thank you

  • Satellite Pro A100 - Resume from Sleep with IR multimedia remote control or keyboard

    Hi Guys
I have dedicated my Satellite Pro A100 to be a media center that sits under the TV and can play networked media and DVD's etc.
    This is using Vista.
The set up I want is that the lid is shut 24/7 365 and when I want to use it I just press "SLEEP" or power button from the remote control or keyboard and it fires up ready for action.
POINT TO NOTE. I successfully did this with my OLD Tecra M3. However was too slow for media center and vista
However I have set the power settings as I want etc, shut lid do nothing, and enabled hybrid sleep (preferred sleep).
Now I CAN put it to sleep with the multimedia keyboard or remote control. BUT can I wake it?...NO!. I have thought of everything possible....gone to device manager and made sure all the options for the remote and the keyboard and the USB reciever are set to WAKE FROM SLEEP. The only thing to wake it is the power button - which defeats the purpose of it being sat there like a dvd player.
when awake the remote and the keyboard function fine - I have made sure the batteries are recharged.
I have the latest BIOS and speaking of BIOS's there are no S3 power options I noticed , but then there werent on the M3 and that worked fine in terms of sleep and waking with the IR.
I come to the forum because although I know some older systems will not work with vista - IF the M3 will work - I am sure the twice as new and powerful A100 will.
Has anyone had this before - what have I missed it must be staring me in the face.
    Thanks in advance.
P.S Also of late the touch pad has been playing up i.e the left and right clickers swap function so one second your working as normal next minute you left click and the right clikc menu appears. Reset BIOS - rebuilt - reinstalled synaptic - no difference.
When I worked in support for a big company when this started happening it wasnt good news - is it bad news?

    Hi
Im not quite sure why it doesnt on your Sat Pro A100 and why it works on M3.
But fact is that Satellite Pro A100 doesnt support the FIR (Fast InfraRed) port and the
Tecra M3 supports the Fast InfraRed port.
Maybe this could be the reason why you cannot enable the notebook using the infrared multimedia remote control.

  • PDA and remote control

    Hello,
I am attempting to use a PDA to remotely control a computer.  However I am getting errors such as "property node 'Property Node': Not supported for current target".
Another error I am running into the the inability to execute subVIs.
Let me know if I should provide additional information.

    Hi Thejoeblack,
Thanks for contacting National Instruments.  I've been looking into your question about using a PDA and I have a suggestion for you.  First off, are you just getting started with the PDA? If so, then I would suggest searching in Help>>Find Examples for "PDA."  Here you can find some good examples that I think will help you out.  One in particular is entitled "PDA Tutorial-Pocket PC."  I would suggest looking at this example and the Getting Started Guide located on your computer under Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>LabVIEW>>LabVIEW Manuals.  I hope some of this helps and please feel free to reply if you still have some questions.  Thanks!

  • DDTS-100 Remote Control Replacement / Codes

I have the DDTS-100 I use it for everything in my home theater, I know maybe it isnt a real amp/reciever, but it does what i need.
The remote however is a piece of crap, small buttons, and very unresponsive even with new batteries. Is there a way to program a different remote, or a known replacement add on remote? All i want the remote to do is mute, volume, and input. It is annoying to be 5 feet away and have to press mute 25 times for it to respond.
Ideally I could combine it with my DVRs remote, one less remote needed.

    AMRivlin,
Unfortunately, the codes used in most universal remote controls are made specificly to each different remote brand. The code number programmed into the remotes are not something the individual component manufacturers determine.
In your case, my best suggestion would be to pick up one of the "learning" remotes. With that, you enter the programming mode on the remote, aim the two remotes at each other, and the "learning" remote records and stores the IR signal being sent by the original. While this is a bit time consuming, it is the best and only way that I am aware of at this time.
