Use of "hidden" attribute to hide a word processor document

   Wanted to hide a document, so under properties I selected the "hidden" box. But now I
want to find it but can't. How can I find this hidden document and have it back on the list
of documents-?

Hi Jack,
Try the following.
From the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and open Folder Options.  Click the View tab, fill in the radio button titled 'Show hidden files folders and Drives' then click apply to save this change.
Now browse to the location your document was in and it should now be visible.  Right click the document, select Properties, remove the check mark from the 'Hidden' box, then click Apply to save the chnge.
Go back to Folder Options and re-hide Hidden files folders and drives'.

    I'd like to use a .hidden file to hide all the windows system files on my ntfs drives but it doesnt seem to be working. I'm using kdemod 3.5 if that matters. Heres the contents of my file:

    and heres the listing of that directory:

    Thats how I have it set up, but I want to keep one folder called TV visable, but the rest hidden. Also I dont want to change the filenames because then that would screw up windows.
    Create a sym-link outside of the windows folder and place it in a more convenient place, and have the root folder hidden. That way you just navigate to it through the link, but the rest of the windows bit won't be shown.

    Open the photo. Press ctrl+A (command+A on a mac) to select it, then Ctrl+C (command+C) to copy it. Go to your word processing document and press Ctrl+V (command+V) to paste it in. (Note that for the last step the procedure may vary slightly depending on your word processor.)

    Hi,
    I heard that we can able to hide some attributes.when we using the ldapsearch to find out Id, it displays all the attribute values for the particular user ID. IF the user id has some hidden attributes, we can't able to see those attributes,
    but when we used we used the ldapsearch command with the particular user id and mentioned the hidden attribute , we can able to see the hidden attribute and hidden attrbute value.
    my query is
    1.How this hidden attribute set.
    2.How can we retrieve all the hidden attributes using command

    You seem to be referring to operational attributes: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4512#page-19
    The visibility of operational attributes is only restricted by obfuscation; anyone who knows about them can ask for them explicitly. If what you are really trying to do is prevent a particular user from being able to see an attribute, you probably want an access control instruction instead of an operational attribute.

  • How to get cm:search to use the max attribute when creating the SQL query?

    When we use the max attribute in the cm:search tag, it does not seem to honor the max attribute when creating the SQL query. However, the result returned from the tag is limited to the number specified by the max attribute. Then the tag seems to work as intended, but the performance will be sub optimal when the SQL query returns unnecessary rows to the application.
    We use the cm:search tag to list the latest news (ordered by date), and with the current implementation we have to expect a decrease in performance over time as more news is published. But we can’t live with that. We need to do the constraint in the SQL query, not in the application.
    The sortBy attribute of cm:search is translated to “order by” in the SQL query, as expected.
    Is it possible to get cm:search to generate the SQL query with an addition of “where rownum <= maxRows”?

    The behavior of a repository in regards to the search tag's max results parameter is dependent on the underlying repository's implementation. That said, the OOTB repository in WLP does augment the generated SQL to limit the number of rows returned from the database. This is done in the parsing logic. This behavior may differ with other repository implementations.

    In regarding of the issue, we need more information.
    Do you meaning that you can't open the Word 2013 file in NAS Synology through network?
    Does only one Word file occur the issue?
    Does the Other file encounter the issue (Such as Excel file ,TXT file, Images)?
    Do you download the Word file to local and check if it can be opened or saved?
    Do you get some error message or error code?
    Please try the following steps to check they are helpful:
    Create a new Word file and open it in local disk to make sure Word 2013 work fine in local.
    Check the network connection.
    Check the account permission and security settings.
    If the issue still exists, please give me more information, and upload the event log to do further research.

  • Why is PDFMaker using faux italics when creating pdf from Word?

    I have a word 2013 document using an opentype font, namely The Sans. Some of the words using that font are in italics.
    If I print (Ctrl+P) the document to Adobe PDF, the pdf looks fine, and the fonts embedded in the PDF as reported by Acrobat are The Sans and The Sans Italic.
    But if I use the PDFMaker plugin, the words in italics use some kind of faux italic, where the regular letters are just slanted. The font embedded in the PDF as reported by Acrobat is only The Sans.
    I got sick of trying every possible parameter in the Word plugin, any idea of what to? Printing the document top pdf and then adding all the bookmarks by hand would be excruciatingly tedious.
    I could also open the PDF in acrobat and select every occurence of an italic word, then re-set it to italic, which then uses the right italic version of the font, but come on...

    Basically using the printer will always embed and use the italic font, e.g. with the standard, press or high quality print settings. Even though there is a checkbox ticked by default named "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document font", the result does not seem to change if this box is ticked or not.
    If I use PDFMaker, no matter what settings I use I end up with the regular font being simply slanted. I even tried setting compatibility with Acrobat 1.7 and checking "Embed Opentype fonts".

    I try to use adapter-specific attributes in my Mail adapter. I set the "Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" indicator, but I do not get a result in the mapping and also in the SXMB_MONI the attributes are not visible.

    Hi,
    The values for the parameters, set using adapter specific message attributes are available at runtime in the path http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail.
    We need to write UDF's that can extract the values from this path.
    For Ex:

    The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
    Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?

  • Problem converting Word 2003 document to PDF using Acrobat 8

    I have tried without success to generate a PDF from a Word document that is 191 pages long and contains many hyperlinks.
    Although I have generated similar PDF documents in the past using the Acrobat PDFMaker macro button within Word (which preserves all the links, unlike printing to PDF), the one I am currently working on does not generate a PDF document.
    It appears to follow the normal process of searching for hyperlinks, converting to PDF, etc - which takes close to 35-40 minutes, but once it looks to be done, it shows a brief Adobe splash screen and disappears entirely.
    I have searched online and through various forums and can't find any explanation.
    I would appreciate any input.

    Try printing a few pages to the Adobe PDF printer to be sure the creation process works. If that works, then go back and empty your TEMP folder, particularly if your 191 pages includes many graphics. You might also want to use the Compress feature in WORD 2003 for graphics to reduce the resolution of all the graphics (it is in the lower left of the first tab of the format menu for WORD graphics).

  • Can I use iBooks Author as a word processor and sell the text outside of iBooks?  Or does the exclusive license apply even to the text?

    I don't know if I want to sell on the iBook store, and I'd rather use iBooks Author than Text Edit or Word or Pages.  I understand that complicated interactive content is what makes iBooks Author special.  But if I create basic text content I could create anywhere, taking advantage of the versioning and iCloud storage iBooks Author provides, do I still own my own writing?

    You own your own writing but the license would prevent you from selling it externally if it produced using iBA. You could of course freely give it away, or sell it via the iBookstore. If I were you I'd be using Pages - much friendlier to use (less bugs, more mature) and if you need the extra features you can import into iBA.
