Use of subquery - causing an error

I am having a problem with subqueries - I want to have two levels of subquery for a worksheet - as soon as I include the second sub query it comes out with the following error:
'The sheet "sheet4" used by this subquery is no longer valid. To edit the subquery you need to choose a different sheet in the workbook'
Is this because only one subquery level is allowed, or could there be another problem?
Thanks for any help
Julia

Hi,
I think only one level of subquery is possible. You will have to find a way to combine the queries into a single subquery.

    This looks like a bug to me. If you unjar the ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/<container-name>/applications/orabpel/ejb_ob_engine.jar to a temp directory, and open the <unjar-temp-dir>/META-INF/ejb-jar.xml, search for InvokerBean, you will notice ejb/local/CubeDeliveryLocalBean is not listed as one of the <ejb-local-ref/>.
    Having that said, you can easily work around this problem by add the following xml segment to the InvokerBean segment of the ejb-jar.xml, then reassemble the ejb_ob_engine.jar and orabpel.ear and redeploy. However you need to have some understanding of J2EE ear file and jar file, and generic J2EE deploymet, in order to do that right. And before you try anything, backup the orabpel.ear to some safe place.

    Did you try it? It is perfectly valid to select a constant as part of a SELECT statement, which is what 516945's solution does.

    SQL> INSERT INTO t VALUES (1, 'One');

  • UPPER Indexes cause select ERROR!

    I downloaded Oracle 10g and installed it on a windows 2003 server. When I created UPPER indexes on a table, and the table has many rows, SELECT statement failed.
    for example:
    DROP TABLE TestTab;
    CREATE     TABLE     TestTab(
         id          NUMBER(9)     DEFAULT 1 NULL,
         name          VARCHAR2(32)     NULL,

    DROP INDEX TestTab_01;
    CREATE     INDEX     TestTab_01 ON TestTab(UPPER(name));
    DROP INDEX TestTab_02;
    CREATE     INDEX     TestTab_02 ON TestTab(UPPER(address));
    create or replace procedure ADDDATA

    lCount := lCount + 1;
    IF lCount >= 80000 THEN

    Fixed: ASC-3889 - Using setting in a for loop causes Verify error
    Notes: emit pop after callstatic to a void function to balance the stack.
    Reviewer: jodyer+
    Testing: asc,tamarin,flex checkin tests

    Modified Paths:
        flex/sdk/trunk/modules/asc/src/java/macromedia/asc/semantics/CodeGenerator.java

    Blacklisting the ahci module does indeed get rid of the error. Would be nice to figure out why it was conflicting with the ahci module though.
    I have not yet tried the 173xx drivers, but the latest drivers for the Quadro FX 580 are the 256.53 drivers according to nvidia.
    Posted at the nV forums (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=155282), so we'll see what they suggest.

    You need to install the same major version of the runtime as the executable was built in. Installing older/newer versions of the runtime won't make any difference (although that doesn't hold true for device drivers like VISA, DAQmx) and won't allow you to run your executable.
    LabVIEW executables REQUIRE the runtime - it is not possible to run a LabVIEW executable without it.
    You need:
    - Your application
    - The LabVIEW runtime installed that matches the version the application was built in
    - Any appropriate additional device drivers (e.g. NI VISA) or NI components
    You are missing *something* from your installation...if you are using the MODBUS library I'm almost certain you will need NI VISA (as it uses serial or TCP/IP).
    If your PC isn't booting, like I said - try to boot it without a network connection and see if that works.
    Edit: Have you tried searching the forums for that specific error? I very quickly found this: https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/HTTP-Client-Error-OpenHandle-vi-returns-error-code-1967362015/td-p/.... You might need to include some additional components in your installer like the web application server or the system web server.

  • Using DTO Factory causes error in deploy

    I am trying to deploy a test application on Oracle9iAS 9.0.3 utilizing the Session Facade design pattern. I have been trying to implement the DTO Factory as a plain Java class in my EJB JAR file and think this might be causing the problem.
    First, when I read from "EJB Design Patterns", Floyd Marinescu, pg. 28 it says:
    "When used behind a session bean facade, the DTO factory can be implemented as a plain Java class that simply stores creation/consumption logic for different data transfer objects in its methods."
    As I am using the session bean facade, I was going to implement the DTO factory as the plain Java class as it states. Also, of course, the DTO classes themselves are plain Java classes.
    When I try to deploy the application I get the following error:
    Deployment failed: Nested exception Root Cause: Syntax error in source. Syntax error in source
    Now, my question is three-fold:
    1) Is it due to using plain Java classes in my EJB JAR that I am receiving this error?
    2) Can these plain Java classes located in my EJB JAR truly call the local interfaces for my entity beans?
    3) Does 9.0.3 not support any of the above?
    As I can't deploy my application, I am a touch confused by what is causing this error. I have seen it before in conjunction with 9.0.2 when my heap size was too small, but have adjusted this so this cannot be the cause. Besides, I am not trying to run anything else on this instance of the app server other than the example.
    I will tag this on...about every 4 of 5 times I try to restart the OC4J instance (using the EM website) I get this error:
    An error occurred while restarting. The opmn request has failed. From opmn: HTTP/1.1 204 No Content Content-Length: 0 Content-Type: text/html Response: 0 of 1 processes restarted. Check opmn log files such as ipm.log and ons.log for detailed.
    Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Alex,
    Now, my question is three-fold:
    1) Is it due to using plain Java classes in my EJB
    JAR that I am receiving this error?No, unless there is a problem in your POJOs (Plain Old Java Class)
    2) Can these plain Java classes located in my EJB JAR
    truly call the local interfaces for my entity beans?No. But the EJBs can call the POJOs
    3) Does 9.0.3 not support any of the above?No, 9.0.3 does support the above.
    It appears that there is a problem in your code somewhere. It may be due to a java compatibility mismatch. By default, OC4J supports java version 1.3.1. Perhaps your POJOs rely on java version 1.4.x?
    When you deploy, OC4J builds and compiles classes that implement the EJB interfaces. I think the error you describe is due to the fact that this part of the deploy process is failing (i.e. the compilation part). This implies that there may be a problem in one of your EJB interfaces.
    Perhaps if you posted the entire error message and stack trace you are getting, I may be able to offer more.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • What could cause "Internal error: java.lang.NullPointerException: can't not add null to SWF frame" when using compc?

    using flex sdk 4.6, and air sdk 15.0.0.356
    we get the following error when using compc in our ant build:
    [java] Internal error: java.lang.NullPointerException: can't not add null to SWF frame

    [java] at com.adobe.flash.compiler.clients.COMPC.main(COMPC.java:62)
    which seems to be rather vague, and offers no clue as to what caused the problem. so, my question is, what could cause this error?
    these are the compiler options we use in the build file:
    <java jar="${flex.compc.jar}" dir="." fork="true" failonerror="true">
          <jvmarg value="-Xmx512m" />
          <arg line="@{options} ${_compc.libpath} ${_compc.externspath} ${_compc.includespath}" />
          <arg value="+flexlib=${flex.frameworks.dir}" />
          <arg value="-load-config=@{config}" />
          <arg value="-source-path=@{src.dir}" />
          <arg value="-include-sources=@{src.dir}" />
          <arg value="-output=@{dest}" />
          <arg value="-swf-version=@{swf.version}"/>
          <arg value="-debug=${flash.debug}"/>
          <arg value="-advanced-telemetry"/>
    </java>
    assume that the properties resolve to correct values, since all projects (except one) call this task and compile successfully. the error must come from this one project that fails, but we don't know why.
    any ideas?

    You could be running out of memory, try increasing the -Xmx512m value to -Xmx1024m or another value that you prefer

  • What would cause multiple error lines to appear using validator logic

    What would cause multiple errors to appear for a single line as shown below. I coded Regular Expression Validator with a specific matching pattern and all the patterns work fine. • Creation of triggers using CFQUERY tag is giving error

    Hi,
    I am creating triggers and stored procedure on ORACLE data
    base using <CFQUERY>.
    <CFQUERY DATASOURCE="CRM">
    create or replace trigger AWC_ACCOUNTINGPERIODSID_TRI
    before insert on AWC_ACCOUNTINGPERIODS
    for each row
    begin
    select AWC_ACCOUNTINGPERIODSID_SEQ.nextval into :new.AP_ID
    from dual;
    end;
    </CFQUERY>
    But the created trigger is not compiled, it is giving the
    following error
    "Line # = 1 Column # = 6 Error Text = PLS-00103: Encountered the
    symbol "" when expecting one of the following: begin case declare
    exit for goto if loop mod null pragma raise return select update
    while with <an identifier> << close current delete
    fetch lock insert open rollback savepoint set sql execute commit
    forall merge pipe The symbol "" was ignored."
    If I edit that trigger in enterprise manager console by
    pressing space and compile that, it is working fine with out any
    error. If i run the above statement in sql *plus, It is working
    fine with out any error. Can you please tell me why this is
    happening if i run it using cfquery tag and also the possible
    solutions.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vinod

    I can't tell you why your particular trigger is failing, but
    here is some "typical" reasons from Oracle's metalink.
    Common reasons for PLS-00103
    Error Summary
    PLS-00103 Encountered the symbol "%s" when expecting one of
    the following (Oerr
    LS.103)
    Error Details
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Error: PLS-00103
    Text: Encountered the symbol "%s" when expecting one of the
    following:
    Cause: This error message is from the parser. It found a
    token
    (language element) that is inappropriate in this context.
    Action: Check previous tokens as well as the one given in the
    error message. The line and column numbers given in the
    error
    message refer to the end of the faulty language construct.
    PLS-00103 errors can often be difficult to localize what the
    error is so here are some
    common reasons for PLS-00103 errors..
    A very common reason for PLS-00103 is when a reserved word is
    used, with a reserved word
    means words that names an oracle object or a built in
    procedure, for example MOD, ABS,
    TABLE, VIEW etc..
    When trying to use SQL*PLUS commands in PL/SQL procedures,
    like SPOOL, SET and other
    commands that belongs to SQL*PLUS can result in this error.
    Using parameter declaration at the IN/OUT clause in a
    procedure, this works in versions
    prior to 8.0.4, but it just ignored the declaration.
    Using DDL commands in PL/SQL will fail in PLS-00103, the way
    to use DDL commands is
    to build a procedure in dynamic sql.
    When creating package specification and a package body, a
    PLS-00103 error will occur
    if there is no slash, '/', after the package specification.
  • I am trying to install current Firefox 3.6, as I am currently running an older Firefox on my Windows ME, but I keep getting this error message: "Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE Setup will now close."--Please help?
    I have downloaded all IP changer Privacy software I have purchased and am trying to install it, and although it is made to work with WindowsME that I am currently using on my computer, it now says it requires Firefox 3 or above to be able to install the software. Therefore, I am trying to update my Firefox to current 3.6 but once Firefox 3.6 downloads it doesn't install. Instead I just keep getting the same error message: Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE. Set up will now close. Several times, I have also tried restarting the computer as the error message also recommended But I just still keep getting the same error message when I try to update/install Firefox 3.5. Please help/advise on how I can fix this problem. Many thanks in advance!
    Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
    You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:
    [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/win32/en-US/]
    You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.
  • A view, function and TO_DATE causing an error.
    I have the following statement which calls a view, VW_DIST_RPT_WORK_LIST which in turn calls a function which returns either 'Null' or a date string e.g. '07 Oct 2003' as a VARCHAR2 (alias PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE).
    Statement:
    SELECT CUSTOMER_NAME, PROTOCOL_REFERENCE, SHIPPING_REFERENCE, CUSTOMER_REFERENCE, COUNTRY, PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE, STATUS, NOTES,
    TO_DATE(PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE)
    FROM VW_DIST_RPT_WORK_LIST
    WHERE EXPECTED_DESP_DT IS NOT NULL
    AND UPPER(PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE) NOT LIKE('NULL%')
    AND EXPECTED_DESP_DT <= TO_DATE('07/10/2003', 'DD/MM/YYYY')
    AND TO_DATE(PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE) <= TO_DATE('31/12/2003', 'DD/MM/YYYY') --< Problem here
    I need to be able to specify a date filter on the PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE field and hence used the TO_DATE(PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE) <= TO_DATE('31/12/2003', 'DD/MM/YYYY') but this is generating an ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric character was expected.
    I think the problem lies with the fact that this field can contain 'Null' which cannot be converted to a date using TO_DATE. I've tried adding a NOT LIKE ('NULL%') statement to catch any nulls which may be creeping in bu this doesn't solve the problem.
    I've added TO_DATE(PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE) to the select above to determine if the nulls are being caught and if the TO_DATE in performing the conversion correctly which it is on both counts.
    Any ideas anyone ?
    The answer provided above by Monika will work for this situation. However, you should seriously think whether you should be using a string for date datatype. Ideally, you should rewrite the function that returns PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE and change the return type to DATE. The least you should do is to return NULL (instead of the string 'NULL') from the function. Oracle handles nulls perfectly, there is no reason you should write code to handle nulls;
    One more thing. Looking at the type of error you are receiving, it seems that you are using rule based optimizer. Why do I think so? Because, in rule based optimizer, the conditions are evaluated in a specific order (viz, bottoms-up for AND clauses). To show this, look at the following simple demonstration. I did this in Oracle 8.1.6 (also in 9.2.0.4.0 on Windows).
    -- Check the database version
    select * from v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.6.1.0 - Production
    insert into test(a) values (0);
    insert into test(a) values (1);
    insert into test(a) values (2);
    insert into test(a) values (3);
    insert into test(a) values (4);
    insert into test(a) values (5);
    insert into test(a) values (6);
    insert into test(a) values (7);
    commit;
    -- See that I have not analyzed the table. This will make use of RULE based optimizer
    -- cost based optimizer (since optimizer goal is set to CHOOSE)
    analyze table test compute statistics;
    -- Now I issue the erring query. See it executes without any problem. This indicates that
    select * from test
    where a > 0
    and 1/a < .25;
    A
    5
    6
    7
    Does the above example seem familiar to your case? Even though you had the AND UPPER(PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE) NOT LIKE('NULL%') in your query, a record with PROJECTED_DELIVERY_DATE = 'NULL' was evaluated first and that caused the error.
    Summary
    1. Use dates for dates and strings for strings
    2. Use cost based optimizer
    Thanks
  • How do you join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery
    I am trying to join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery. I can extract data from each of the tables without a problem. However, when I combine the select statements using a subquery I get the Oracle error *'ORA-00936: missing expression'*. Since each SELECT statement executes on its own without error I don't understand what is missing. The result set I am trying to get is to match up the LINE_ID from PDTABLE_12_1 in schema DD_12809 with the MAT_DESCRIPTION from table PDTABLE_201 in schema RA_12809.
    The query is as follows:
    sql = "SELECT [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].LINE_ID FROM [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1] JOIN " _
    + "(SELECT [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201].MAT_DESCRIPTION " _
    + "FROM [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201]) AS FAB " _
    + "ON [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS"
    The format of the query is copied from a SQL programming manual.
    I also tried executing the query using a straight JOIN on the two tables but got the same results. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
    Edited by: user11338343 on Oct 19, 2009 6:55 AM
    I believe you are receiving the error because you are trying to JOIN on a column that doesn't exist. For example you are trying to join on FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS but that column does not exist in the subquery.
    If you want to do a straight join without a subquery you could do the following
    SELECT  DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.LINE_ID
    ,       FAB.MAT_DESCRIPTION
    FROM    DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1
    JOIN    RA_12809.PDTABLE_201    AS FAB ON DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS  HTH!
    The error message "Enter Batch".
    How can I cause the error "Deficit~"?
    I've already read the past discussion in SCN,
    All cause seems to relate to inspection status of inventory.
    However, I don't use the inspection status of inventory.
    All --- we (two Sr. and me ) are trying figure out how to create a url using FND_RUN_FUNCTION.get_run_function_url . the below code is used. we get to the 2nd page w/ a link that is created with no problem (params passed, link created). when the link is clicked we are getting the error :
    You are trying to access a page that is no longer active. - The referring page may have come from a previous session. Please select Home to proceed.
    purpose : a intermediate page will come up if multiple doc numbers. the user will hit a button of which one they want. then a package will be called, params passed, and the results will be produced by creating a html string to get us to view the results. this works great if you enter a 1 number. now w/ multiples we need a link to be created and then pass the string back
    eventually this will be the params used at all places p_out out varchar2 , rmode IN STRING, doc_type IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'TEL', doc_id IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL, doc_num IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL
    Also the package is being modified from htp.p 11i to html r12
    I had a similar experience with formula Weeknum. I had the Dutch Excel version installed and used the Dutch version of the formula, it did not work same message. Then I tried the formula in English,  of course Excel could not execute it, BUT Xcelsius did work fine.
    So I guess you have the Spanish Excel installed also, try both languages.
