Use Primavera on a domain

I've installed P6 on my computer and it works well localy. I want to use it on a domain. I've restored the pmdb$primavera database on the server and want to connect from primavera to the sql on the server. In the database configoration form I fill the Host name as server[the name of the server] and the database name as pmdb$primavera, but I can't login by niether of pubuser nor server username and password.
the following error occurs:
Bad private user name or password. Check the public group ID. Database Server Error: Login failed for user 'privuser'. Reason: The password of the account must be changed.
Please provide me your prompt response
and best possible way on achieving this target.

Sorry, for some reason I thought express still granted you access to OSQL.
As you can login via OSQL it sounds as though the database is up, running, and accessible.
As previously suggested, try running dbconfig.exe and selecting the following:
-Administration Tasks (licenses, passwords, etc.)
-Administer Private database logins
-Project Management (your DB alias)
-Provide the username and password for the privileged user account (privuser is the default)
-Public Group Id should be "1" for a standard install. Private DB Username should be "privuser" by default. Delete **** from the Password field and replace with your password.
If after doing this you are still receiving the same error I would recommend you try what is stated in the error, change the password and then reset the stored private database login using the above steps.

  • 802.1x using authentication from NT Domain Controller instead of Radius

    I would like to know if it's possible to configure 802.1x using authentication from NT Domain Controller, instead of using Radius or Tacacs.

    It is possible to use MS AD, generic LDAP, Novell NDS for authentication, it's fairly common.
    The issue is "How do get the device to talk to the authentication source ... (AD, DC, NDS, LDAP)?"
    The answer is RADIUS.
    You can configure RADIUS to pull authentication from a variety of source (depending on the RADIUS - many/most can use any of the LDAP-based systems).
    So, yes, certainly you can use the Microsoft AD, but you need RADIUS to connect the two systems (the 802.1x device and the AD server).
    If cost is the issue, try freeRADIUS (www.freeradius.org) - it's fully featured (can use LDAP, AD, NDS, Certificates, etc), it's free, and configuration is much easier than it looks ....
    Good Luck

  • Document uploading using Primavera Web Service

    Hi,
    I am using Primavera P6 r8.2 and I have linked UCM with EPPM for document management in Primavera. I am tryng to add a document to a project from content repository using Primavera Web Services. WhenI am executing the process the document is created in Primavera from Content Repository, but I could not find how should I control the 'Security Policy' of the document with Web Service. By default the document is added to the project with the security polocy 'Personal'. Can anyone of you hellp me out?
    Thanks,
    Dip

    This worked for me:
    1) I put web service in transport request in SPRO -> CRM -> UI FRAMEWORK -> UI FRAMEWORK DEFINITION -> WEB SERVICES -> WEB SERVICES TOOL: TRANSPORT WEB SERVICE OBJECTS
    2) Then I transported this request.
    3) Then you have to wait a few minutes that the WEB service gets available. Then I went to WSCONFIG and choosed my WEB service and clicked on button NEW and then SAVE.

  • WinRM and HTTPS - Does using WinRM on a domain negate the need for SSL

    I know that WinRM can work over HTTP SSL - however, if you are using WinRM in a domain - is there really any advantage to going to the trouble of using SSL?  I'm assuming the data between devices using NTLM and Kerberos is encrypted?  If that is
    the case, what would be the benefit of certificates on every device to use WinRM to copy event logs to a Windows Event Collector over SSL?
    I apologize if it is a foolish question - I've set up WEC in the past, but, never using HTTPS. There is a desire at work to use HTTPS for event collection but I think it might be overkill - appreciate any feedback.
    thanks

    Hi,
    You should implement SSL when connecting to computers in untrusted zones (e.g. DMZ) or when publishing an endpoint on the internet. In these circumstances you can probably not authenticate
    with Kerberos or NTLM and have to use basic authentication or CredSSP. Basic authentication of course sends the username and password in clear text over the wire.
    The following blog actually shows off that the remoting session gets encrypted by Kerberos in a domain environment.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ilvancri/archive/2010/03/31/techdays-follow-up-remote-powershell-what-s-encrypted.aspx
    So I guess, if you are really paranoid, you should enable SSL everywhere. If you are not, you just should be wise where you go for the extra hassles.
    BTW, when you have an Enterprise Issuing CA in your environment you can automate the entire process of enabling SSL everywhere.

  • Using Microsoft account on domain-joined Windows 10 Technical Preview

    (First asked at
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_tp-security/using-microsoft-account-on-domain-joined-windows/63093b15-af76-4461-a23e-8f8b739f4960, was told to come here...)
    I have in-place upgraded a domain-joined Windows 7 machine to Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9860.
    I can log on as before using my domain account, but I'd also like to be able to log on using my (personal) Microsoft account.
    I tried typing [email protected] in the "user" box but this didn't work.
    Any clue? Maybe the only way is to first create a local account and then associate it with the MSA but IMVHO this shouldn't be necessary...

    Hi sba,
    If we updated to Windows 10 Technical Preview from Windows 7, Windows will keep your Windows settings, personal files, and most apps. And based on what I know, if we haven’t create a Microsoft Account on Windows 10 (or there is no Microsoft account available
    before we update to Windows 10), it will not allow us to sign in with a Microsoft Account.
    To make it able to sign in with a Microsoft account, we need either connect a local account to a Microsoft account (Under PC settings->Users and Accounts-> Your profile)
    or
    create a new user account(under PC settings->Users and Accounts->Other users->Mange other users-> Add a user);

  • Lion Server 10.7.4 VPN service not using my Active Directory domain for authentication

    I have Lion Server 10.7.4 setup on a Mac Mini and I have enabled the VPN service for both L2TP and PPTP. The Mac Mini is joined to my Windows Domain at a functional level of Server 2008 R2. I have set the authentication paths to point to my domain in Directory Utility.
    What I would like to have happen is for my laptop to be able to VPN into my office network remotely using domain credentials and not local account credentials on the Mac Mini itself. This is a process I have done numerous times on Windows boxes, but for some reason the only way I can get the VPN to work on this instance of Lion Server 10.7.4 is by authenticating using local accounts only.
    Does Lion Server 10.7.4 only authenticate VPN users based on it's local account schema? Or can it truly authenticate against an active directory domain?
    Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    Hi g-pirtle,
    Yes, I had already done that a few days ago. I was able to add the desired AD group to the allowed users/groups for the VPN service. Thats exactly what is so weird about this...it allows me to search for and add an AD user or group to the list of allowed users/groups, but then when I actually try to use a domain account to authenticate to the VPN is just gives me the "cannot authenticate" error. Very strange.
    I wondered if for some reason Apple is only allowing local accounts to be authenticated against. Sounds crazy, but I cannot for the life of me get this to work. I also wondered if Kerberizing the server would help, but when I go to join a Kerberos realm in Open Directory inside of Server Admin, it just has no realm listed in the drop down menu.
    Other than that, all other aspects of the Mac Mini being joined to the AD domain seems to be good. I'm really stumped here...
    Thanks again,

  • Can I convert data inputted to Uppercase by using a EO/VO domain?

    I am running version 10.1.3.1.0.3984 of JDeveloper and Release 10.1.3.1.26 of JHeadStart. I am trying to mimic a feature that we used extensively in our previous tool so I'm not sure that it can be done this way, but was wondering if I can use an Entity Object or View Object Domain at the Model Layer as the method to convert certain Text Inputted values into Upper Case. I have searched these forums and have not seen it done this way and we are persuing utilizing an Oracle Trigger solution, but wanted to ask this question.
    When I create a Domain at the Entity Object Layer by selecting New --> Domain, I get the following code which is standard
    package its.sis.entities.UWDomains.common;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    import java.lang.Object;
    import oracle.jbo.JboException;
    import oracle.jbo.Transaction;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DomainInterface;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DomainOwnerInterface;

    public class UWUpperDomain extends Object implements DomainInterface, Serializable {
    public UWUpperDomain(String val) {
    mData = new String(val);
    validate();
    private String mData;
    protected UWUpperDomain() {
    mData = "";
    public Object getData() {
    return mData();
    /**<b>Internal:</b> <em>Applications should not use this method.</em>
    public void setContext(DomainOwnerInterface owner, Transaction trans,
    Object obj) {
    /**Implements domain validation logic and throws a JboException on error.
    protected void validate() {
    // ### Implement custom domain validation logic here. ###
    public String toString() {
    if (mData != null) {
    return mData.toString();
    return "<null>";
    public boolean equals(Object obj) {
    if (obj instanceof DomainInterface) {
    if (mData != null) {
    return mData.equals(((DomainInterface)obj).getData());
    return ((DomainInterface)obj).getData() == null;
    return false;
    I, in my limited Java knowledge (very limited) tried to customize this code with the following highlighted change
    public Object getData() {
    return mData.toUpperCase();
    This did not produce the results I had hoped for i.e. everytime that any Entity Object is defined with this domain, that whatever is typed into it is converted to Upper Case.
    Is this possible with this type of domain? I'd appreciate any input/clarification.
    Thanks very much

  • Using iweb with personal domain, but without a mobile me account

    hi, i recently purchased a domain from google (enom) and i want to upload a website that i created with iweb. However, i don't want to use a mobile me(or .mac) account to forward it. i know there is ftp involved and although other forums have explained it, they didnt go in depth enough for me to understand how to do it. a guide to doing this or some kind of explanation would be extremely helpful. thank you

  • IMap and Google recognition when using a third part domain with forwarding

    Hi,
    I have iWeb and have brought a domain name from Godaddy. The Godaddy domain is set to forward to the .Mac account so I can easily edit the information with iWeb - however, I have registered the site with Google (a few weeks ago now), but it still doesn't show, even if I type in the domain exactly and search.
    I am tempted to get iMap, but it says something on the introduction about it may not work well with forwarding although doesn't make it clear what it actually means...?
    I have heard that possibly iWeb can publish to FTP, meaning I can do it straight to my domain name, but will I only get one page, or can it create new pages.
    I'm stuck, any explanations or help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

    OK. So I think it am on to it - kind of. I followed this article http://newmacuser.com/iweb-with-godaddy-domain/
    Although I have still specified for Godaddy to forward my domain using the usual function which I have had enabled before - I haven't touched the masking section.
    Is this right? I guessed I had to keep it forwarded, because just changing the @ symbol to web.mac.com wouldn't know what site to forward it to??
    Also, will iMap now work to get me recognized in Google?
    Still a little confused - can you tell

  • Webpage using host name without domain

    Installed 10g successfully but when I try to naviagte the url is only using the computer host name without the domain. I keep getting the DNS_ERROR. If I manually append the domain in the webpage it works.
    Installed on Solaris 10.

    I doubt this has anything to do with Lion Server. it sounds more like the client settings.
    Did you add your domain to the list of search domains (System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> DNS).
    This list is the list of domains the client will search when looking up a unqualified hostname. Add your domain to this list.

  • Cluster with shared domain folder using OCFS2 and the domain /tmp folder

    I've setup a cluster with two machines and one managed server on each machine. One of the machines also hosts the admin server.
    Initially, both managed servers were running on the same machine. Everything worked well. When I move to having two machines, I didn't want to have to independently maintain the domain folder on each machine.
    So I decided to setup a shared drive between the machines and use OCFS2 to share the domain folder between the two machines.
    Everything started up fine, but when I deployed software to the server I would frequently (but not always) get this error:
    [wldeploy] Target state: deploy failed on Cluster cluster-01
    [wldeploy] weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [Deployer:149189]Attempt to operate 'deploy' on null BasicDeploymentMBean for deployment mylibrary#[email protected]. Operation can not be performed until server is restarted.
    After looking around a bit on google I saw this issue:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/issues/known_resolved.html#CR279281
    which says
    Some OS and NFS combinations result in deployment failures or configuration updates with an exception like:
    weblogic.management.DeploymentException: Attempt to operate 'distribute' on null BasicDeploymentMBean
    Workaround or Solution:
    * Run statd() and lockd() processes on every NFS client that accesses a remote NFS volume.
    * If multiple servers that share the same domain root are started with different user Ids of same group, set the correct "umask" for the server processes so that a file created by one server can be opened for read/write by other servers without security exceptions.
    Unfortunately, I wasn't running NFS, so the workaround didn't help me.
    Through dump luck, I tried this:
    I replaced the domainroot/tmp folder with a symbolic link to a folder on each machine's local filesystem. Following that change my deployments work everytime.
    Does anyone know why this change worked? What is the purpose of the /tmp folder in a domain folder?
    Are there any switches I could turn on to get more information about the exact error that causes the deployment mbean to come back null?

    It may not be the same situation, but I had this "deployer:149189" error and it turned out to be mixing WLS 10.0 and 10.3 installations together in the same install directory and not being scrupulous about environment setup. I think the problem was caused by accidentally running a 10.0 domain with Java 1.6.
    Eoin.

  • Weblogs using IP and not domain

    We figured out how to set up weblog user names and we got a domain set up for the server, but when one of the users puts a category in, it defaults to the internal address. Is there anyway to fix this?

    I am using Xserve. I checked with someone else and they thing it is a domain problem. Here is an example page for you. If you click on a category, you will see it trys to go to an internal address. All of the IPs have domains linked to them, internal and external.
    http://tigers.bcacs.org/weblog/cadams/
    I will look around in the other forum. Don't go by what the thing says for my OS, it doesn't have Xserve on it.

  • Using JSONscriptRequest for cross domain calls?

    Hi,
    Looking through the REST SDK I see mention of the "JSONscriptRequest class" but I don't find much else about it.
    Is this a jsonp callback and how can it be used?
    Thanks

    Hi Willem,
    I've never heard of this "JSONscriptRequest class", but as far as I know, the REST SDK doesn't support JSONP callbacks or JSONP in general.
    For cross domain request, you'll find CORS settings on your WebApplicationContainer Server settings page in the CMC, but I'm not sure how / if they work.
    Hope that helps.

    Would like to know how to go about installation and configuration. What are the packages need to be installed?

    Kill a user session:
    Note This works only if you're using a SQL backend. Not sure what the Oracle commands are.
    From SQL console type the following:
    select session_id from USESSION where delete_session_id is NULL and user_id = (select user_id from users where user_name = <enter user name here>);
    Once you have the session ID, type the following:
    Delete from UPKLIST where session_id = <enter session id number here>;
    Delete from PROJSHAR where session_id = <enter session id number here>;
    Delete from USESSION where session_id = <enter session id number here>;
    Some (especially the top two) may reflect that 0 items were changed - that's ok. Just keep going with the commands one by one.
