Use sprite image for button icons

Hi all,
I'm developing a mobile app in sapui5, i have many buttons in that.
I also have a sprote image which contains all the icons.
Please help me to use the sprite image as icons to the button.

Use external image for tree icons

Hi all,
having searched extensively with probably the wrong keywords, i'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
My app has a tree control that gets built by reading an Ini file, the icons get populated with custom images from a directory. I'm trying to find a way to be able to interchange those icons after the executable has been built. The current way that i put the icons in the tree is simplistic. the names determine where in the tree they go... i.e. icon_1.jpg , icon_2.jpg , icon_3.jpg ... become the first, second, and third icon.
i just don't want to have to rebuild the app every time a customer wants to replace the icons.
any tips?

See the .zip at the bottom of the page, it has an example vi.
It does in fact use the "Read JPeg File" vi's.
You'll see in the "Load Symbols.vi" that it takes as input, a directory where your custom symbols are located. Is there a way to keep this directory outside of the executable when the application builder compiles everything together....???? Like maybe in the /data directory?
I've only been using the app builder for a couple weeks so I'm not that sharp on those little nuances, but the more we hash this out, it seems like it should be possible.

Spry menus - using images for buttons

A search of the forums shows two approaches, to use an image
for a button in a Spry menu.
One of them uses HTML to put an <img> into the
<li>. Here is the example I found cited [contributed by
arandlett - though said there not to work in IE7].

ways what this is about.
We would be quite appreciative to learn what experience
indicates, now, is best practice. Or, does it depend, on ... ?

Let me add a note to my own post.
We would still be delighted to hear others' experience, with
images in Spry menus. One thing does emerge with a little further
look: The Spry menu is suited to using the _same_ image for each
button. If the desire is to vary that image (such as to use an
unusual font, so that the text changes on each image), then
Fireworks clearly is the tool of choice.

Using custom images for radiobuttons

I'm looking for help with creating a radio buttons with external images (fetched from XML/Javascript file) cause, I don't want to use standard looking radio buttons from components. I wish to use different images for each state of the button.
Any one can help me with some ideas how to change look of then radio buttons?

To manage homegrown radiobuttons as a group, you would incorporate an event listener function that manages the group. That function would know which radio button was selected via the event target and would act to reset all of the other radios while setting the one selected. I don't have a specific AS3 example, but below is a rough draft of the function/scenario. In this, I am using 3 radio buttons that have numerically differentiated instance names (rb1, rb2, rb3)...

In this case, each radio button is simply a two framed movieclip, with stops for each frame... frame 1 displays the unselected state, and frame 2 displays the selected state.
For the code shown, I include an external variable (selectedRadio) that can be used to target information related to the selected Radio button. So if you assigned each radio with a variable (let's say you name it varName) that would hold data to be used in the processing elsewhere, you can get it using: selectedRadio.varName

Struts - using html:image for link

I would like to use an image for a link but I am not sure how to do this. Right now I'm using the <html:link> tag and using the action mapping. Can this be done using the <html:image> tag?
Here's an example of what I'm currently doing.

yeah, <html:image> is a form submit button... in HTML, it's this:
<input type="image" name="thename" src="thesrc" value="thevalue" />
<html:link> has onmouseover and onmouseout attributes... so you just put the mouseover script stuff there.

I had never heard of someone using the iPhone Number as the ID in the iMessages account in the Mac version.
i.e without adding an Apple ID
iMessages does allow iPhone numbers and mine lists mine.
I would try this.
Sign Out of the iMessages account and Quit Messages
On the iPhone in Settings > Messages remove the Apple ID
Set the iPhone to Airplane mode for a few minutes (to break with the Server)
On starting the phone up again check the iPhone Number is ticked for iMessages.
If it is add the Apple ID
On the Mac restart Messages
Add the Apple ID
At this point you should get a pop up or two saying the iPhone is using the Number and Apple ID.
Accept these and they get added to the Receive At list and Send From drop down.

Images for Buttons

Any suggestions as to how I can use an image as a button? I have successfully imported my image, got it displaying fine but PL/SQL is unavailable for it. Why can't I do a 'When-Image-Pressed' on an imported image. I also tried using the image item but do not know how to set the source.
Oh yeah, while I'm on the subject, how do you get an iconic button to display its icon? Does it have to be a .ico?

Well your first part of question , well i have to work on it.May be only then i would be able to suggest u anything.
As far as iconic button are concerned. There is a property in button property pallette of button type. Set it to iconic.
Set iconic file name(Give complete path of file).
Well not neccassary it should be .ico. Can be other image file also.

Don't want new tiff files saved in my catologue if I'm only using the image for a composite.

When editing in Photoshop CS4 from LR3, the new tif will not appear in the catalogue unless I save it in PS. In LR4 it saves a new tiff in my catalogue regardless if I save the edited image in PS or not. I have a cloud library I use often and do not want new files saved in my LR catologue if I'm only using the opened image for compositing. Can anyone help me figure out how to change the workflow to be like LR3?

How far back would you go? One version? Three? Where should the line be drawn? Adobe draws the line at the currently shipping version...it's now CS5 and shortly it will be CS6.
Even if Adobe were to do this, you do realize that trying to put new plug-ins into older software is really tough. For example on the Mac, Photoshop CS5 requires that the plug-in be written in Apple's Cocoa API. Camera Raw 5 required a major update to be able to run in Cocoa...retrofitting Camera Raw 5 to run in a PPC platform (supported by CS3/CS4 but not supported by CS5) would be difficult–a lot of work for zero return. In fact, going forward, Adobe is already announced the change to Photoshop upgrade rules allowing only the most recent version to be upgraded to the new version. Because of the reaction that only CS5/5.5 could upgrade to CS6, Adobe blinked and now has given a grace period till the end of 2012 for CS3 & CS4 users to upgrade to CS6.
Again many people don't like this, but as a pro user of Photoshop, I always upgrade anyway so it has no impact on me. Yes, it will bite some people and I can have sympathy, but again, you always have the free DNG Converter to use in the case you need new camera support. And hey, the new cameras come with software to process their raw files, right?

Problem using an image for a background

Hi,
My environment is Crystal Report 2008 SP2
I am adding an image for a table header background in my report. The image is of type png.
I use insert picture when I add it to the report. Up to there everything works fine.
My problem happens when I try to draw lines on top of the image.
All the lines that I draw stay underneath the image. Even though I move the image to the back and move the lines to the top.
Any idea why?
Is there something that I should do differently if I want to use an image as background?

Using custom images for website?

Hi, I'm totally new to this Dreamweaver stuff so I'm sorry if this is very easy, but I have created an image in Illustrator that I would now like to use as a website. The image is this:
I have a background, and a menu bar and I'm trying to figure out how to use it as a background image. I'm looking to create a one column website that is liquid and has a little content on each page.

Of course, this CSS will only work if the background image is named "background.png", and it is in the same location as the page you are making. Perhaps it would be more helpful to do it this way -

This will place the background image on the page aligned with the upper, left-hand corner of the browser viewport. Now you will have to build the page's infrastructure so that the content is properly aligned with the background image. You may have problems doing this, as this approach is not normally one that is successful (i.e., designing a single background image containing all of your layout elements and then just trying to align content to it). Think about what will happen with that approach if someone makes their browser display text larger or smaller than you have used while you are aligning things!
A better approach is to make the background an image (if you use an image at all) that can tile to fill the screen no matter how large the screen is. Then build the page as a series of stacked rectangular containers, where each container is parent to a single part of the page's layout (like masthead, menu, content, footer, credit for example) and style each container with its own background image/color as needed. That way, if one container expands because text is resized, the whole arrangement can flex vertically to accommodate it. This approach will require that you understand enough about CSS to know that using absolute positioning is NOT the right way to go about making such a page.
If you are not so friendly with CSS, then I suggest you delay your beginning on this site until you have acquired some additional familiarity with it. A great way to get that is to read the "Missing Manual" volume for your version of DW. The book is published by O'Reilly press and is authored by David McFarland.

Known Issue: "DNS server could not be reached" when creating or updating a RemoteApp collection using template images for some locales

When trying to create or update Azure RemoteApp collections that use a template image for some non-EN-US locales, it might fail with error "DNS server could not be reached". You might also see error code "DnsNotReachable".

Cause: There was a issue in Azure in which decimal punctuation was not treated properly if the locale of the template image used a comma (,) instead of a period (.).
Workaround: Before a fix was applied, the workaround was to use template images based on a locale that uses a period to delimit decimals, such as EN-US.
Resolution: As of March 19, 2015, a fix for this issue has been applied to Azure. You should once again be able to create collections from template images that use non-EN-US locales. If you continue to have this problem, please
try the workaround. If that works and the only difference in the template images is the locale, please email remoteappforum (at Microsoft). If the workaround does not work, the issue is likely caused by a DNS configuration issue such as:
No valid forwarders to public DNS servers configured on your internal DNS server(s).
A valid internal DNS server is not specified on your Azure RemoteApp VNet.
A VNet or internal network configuration issue is preventing the internal DNS servers from be reached by the VMs in the RemoteApp collection.

Best setting for using still images for 16:9 format

When using still images in FCP, what is the best setting to keep the images from stretching or warping when exported to be shown on a 16:9 format?

Put them in a 16:9 sequence (is there any other way?) If they are distorted upon import, you can change their distort settings under "Distort" in the Motion tab of the Viewer. 33.33 is a good number to start with.

Where can i find the "use audio port for" button?

I am a Dj and am trying to record. All instructions I have seen, it says to plug my mixer into the line-in input and go to system preferences>sound>input, then change the "use audio port for" option to "sound input". I am not able to do find the "use audio port for" drop down menu, any help??? I have a MacBook Pro that is about six months old and I am running OS X 10 9 4.

I was actually hoping to use my computer as a DHCP. I am in Iraq and have a very hard time getting a solid connection. However my computer has no issues. I am usualy able to use Safari but can not get to iMessage or Facetime servers. I have Windows 7 64bit a bluetooth compatibility. Not looking for any file transfers or special stuff.
