Use USB GPS device in emulator

Hello all,
I would like to connect a real USB GPS device to the emulator running my code. Is there any way for my app running under the emulator to access the real usb gps device? I did a search on this and did not find any relevant discussions.
Thanks,
Danny

Thank you for your reply. But I can not connect the property node which you suggest me in reply of my question because there is problem of connection. Here I am attaching my vi so can you please give me the solution of my question, How can I use USB RAW device in Interrupt transfer write mode??

  • Using USB 6341 device for frequency generation but level is droped when conect

i am using USB-6341 Daq Device for frequency generation. The desired frequency is generated correctly but when i connect to other device the voltage level i means the Peak to Peak voltage of the frequency dropped to 0.6, 1 Volt and also the frequency fluctuated. As I disconnect it from the load or the device the frequency becomes constant and peak to peak voltage becomes 5.
Please some help me to resolve my problem.
    Thanks

    Hi Nasib,
I just wanted to clarify a few more things. Can you answer the following questions?
What frequency are you trying to generate?
When there is no load connected do you see the desired frequency?
When the load is connected, does the frequency always change to the same value or does it fluctuate within a certain range? If it fluctuates, what is the range?
Also, what microcontroller are you using?
    Can you provide any images?

  • Using USB-8451 device to drive two i2c busses

Is it possible to use a single USB-8451 device to drive two seperate i2c busses at the same time or do I need to get a second 8451

I believe these devices act as single bus controller and if you want to control two separate buses, get two devices. An alternative (depending on the scope of your application) would be to use an FPGA device to implement as many controllers as you require.
    Hope this helps.

  • Using external GPS Device

Will mapping apps work on an I-Pad 2 without Wi-Fi but using an external GPS Blue tooth Device (Dual XGPS150A) while traveling?

Thanks for the pointer to ExtGPS...could be useful!  Symarctic's web site for ExtGPS uses UPC coded download links, so I was able to use UpCode (free from Ovi store), point my 5800 at the code on screen and the software was downloaded automatically and the installation started immediately!  Very cool.

  • Using USB storage devices very slow in SL

I have two MAC's and use Entourage on both, in order to keep my Microsoft Data Base sync's I have it on a removable storage device which I move from MAc to Mac. Since updating to 10.6.1(SL) Entourage has slowed down to a snails pace and I can only assume that SL is doing something different in handling the USB external storage devices .
Very disappointing and frustrating .....Apple not a good move

  • Mixed message lengths on CAN Bus using USB-8473 Device

I am attempting to use the Frame API functions for LabVIEW
and send both 11-bit and 29-bit headers over a bus that uses both address lengths.  I am currently successfully sending 11-bit
packets but the 29-bit packets are having their addressing truncated to the 11-bit
length when put on the bus.
As far as I can see I should have to set the standard
comparator to 0xCFFFFFFFF and then send messages.  I am using a NI USB-8473 CAN Device for doing
this.  Is there anything else I need to
    change for extended addressing?

You need to OR your Extended ID with the 0x20000000 before giving it to the NCwriteNet.vi.
This is the way that the underlying CAN driver and hardware know that is it an extended ID you are trying to send.
The ID on the CAN bus will NOT have the ORed ID but only your ID. The driver/hardware filter the 0x20000000 from the ID.
This is the same for reading an extended ID on the CAN bus.
Before using the ArbitrationId, you need to AND the ArbitrationId with 0x1FFFFFFF to filter the extended flag out.

  • Using USB-6008 software timimg Generate waveform

I am using USB-6008 device. Base on it's User Guide, this device on support software-timed and maximum update rate is 150 Hz.
By place a time delay VI for 1ms, I have a 1.660Hz sine signal. Is this wrong for place a time delay VI for software timing?
I would like to generate a 60 Hz signal by using software-timed VI on USB-6008 device. How should I do?
    Thanks a lot.

    DephinTW,
The update speed of the USB-6008 is largely dependent on the speed of
you computer as well as anything else on your USB bus. If you are using
an older computer or have other USB devices on the bus, you may not
achieve this rate. In order to output a 60Hz signal, the minimum output
sampling rate is 120Hz. This corresponds to an 8.3 msec. delay between
samples. Instead of using the "Wait" VI, you should try using the "Wait
Until Next ms Multiple" VI. Place this in parallel with your
generation. This will synchronize the output with multiples of the PC
clock, rather than waiting for a fixed amount of time, irrespective of
    code and USB overhead.

  • USB storage devices not being recognised

    Product:
13" Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display (Late 2013 model)
    OS X Yosemite (version 10.10.2)
    2.4GHz i5, 8gb 1600 MHz DDR3, 256gb HDD
    Issue:
    - macbook unable to recognise USB storage devices.
    - can be found on disk utility but 'greyed out'.
    - cannot be found under devices in finder.
    - tried restarting laptop, no effect.
    - additional storage via Nifty + 64gb micro SD is working fine.
    - apple products (iPod/iPhone/iPad) and printer/scanner working fine, only storage devices appear to be affected.
    - USB-ethernet adapter appears to be working w/o problems too.
    - last technical thing done to the computer was SMC reset 5 days ago for power cable light not working properly (fixed with reset).
    Hello everyone,
I seem to having some issues with my macbook and the ability to use USB storage devices. The SD card slot appears to be working fine as I have a nifty device attached on. I'm not sure exactly when this started to happen but it was working last week for sure.
I've put some succinct notes above for anyone who is willing to help out and is able to use it to determine the problem but I don't think it's a hardware issue. Maybe it's a bug with the new OS X update over the weekend?
I've attached a screenshot of the disk utility below as well.
If anyone could help me out then that would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Some users on another Apple thread had success in running Kext Utility last November with similar issues.
I ran kext utility 2.6.1, restarted my computer and everything was working again.

  • Recording noise using USB turntable

I'm getting intermittent distortion/staticy noise at times when trying to record my LP's using "Audacity" software (1.2.5 for Intel Mac) and an audio-technica AT-LP2D USB Turntable. It is random, and comes out of nowhere at any time when recording. Once it starts, it persists. I've been able to complete several LP recordings, but it's very frustrating. I have to abandon the recording and start over if the noise starts up.
I've changed the USB cable, used a different USB 2.0 port on the back of my iMac, reinstalled the "Audacity" software, and reinstalled the stylus assembly - nothing eliminates the noise.
The below is a quote from audio-technica Repair/Support when I asked them about this noise problem:
"...there is a known problem with certain Mac computers experiencing "distortion" when using USB audio devices. This problem is not exclusive to our product, and has been documented online by several USB audio device users. I believe this to be a USB audio driver issue. I highly recommend contacting the folks at Apple about this issue."
I've not been able find anything in Apple Discussions or Audacity Forum that point to any inherent problem with either the iMac hardware or the USB turntable. The very random nature of the noise problem would indicate a defect in the turntable USB circuitry. I might add that when I'm monitoring noise (on my iMac while recording using "Audacity"), there is NO NOISE monitored at a clock radio connected to the turntable (turntable "LINE" output to "AUX" input of the clock/radio).
Has anyone heard of this problem? Any suggestions?

Be sure to try disconnecting all other USB devices (such as hard drives and printers) while doing the recording. All devices except for your standard mouse and keyboard, that is. Since they all connect to the same USB bus, there may be some interference.
Alternately, you can connect the line output of the turntable to the audio input of the iMac (using an adapter for RCA to mini-stereo jack), and not use the USB connection. You can monitor the sound while recording with the play-through setting in your recording software, or by running this simple program called LineIn.

  • How to use GPS device connected to USB to Serial TTL connector

    Hi,
In case Lesson 3, I found the code to open UART as follows.
          uart = DeviceManager.open(UART_DEVICE_ID);
This is the case that ttyAMA0 is used.
I would like to use USB to Serial TTL connector.
Could you let me know into what I need to change the code above?
    Thanks,
    Marvin

    Hi Marvin,
assuming new device has name like "/dev/ttyUSB0" you can use following code
    UARTConfig cfg = new UARTConfig("ttyUSB0", DeviceConfig.DEFAULT,  115200, UARTConfig.DATABITS_8, UARTConfig.PARITY_NONE, UARTConfig.STOPBITS_1, UARTConfig.FLOWCONTROL_NONE);
    UART gps = DeviceManager.open(UART.class, cfg);

  • Changing the Read NMEA GPS SubVI.vi to work on Mac OS X using usb?

    Hi,
Any help or advice on this would be appreciated.
I am using Mac OS X Tiger on an ibook G4 with Labview 7.1. The ibook only has either firewire or usb so I got a usb GPS receiver (BU-303) from Globalsoft http://www.usglobalsat.com/item.asp?itemid=11&catid=13. Their website includes a device driver for the mac and an application that allows me to view the GPS output such as lattitude, longitude, speed etc. from their application.
I would like to try and use Labview instead to plot this information because it will allow me to log this information as it changes and generally give me more flexibility. I came across a VI that was designed to work with a serial connection for windows

I would like to try to adapt this somehow to work on my Mac with usb, if someone could suggest what steps to take or things I should consider and post them, that'd be a great help to me,
    Thanks in advance,
    Robert

I suspect it's too much to ask that they have a development kit that you could steal code from?
Do they have a command line application?  If so, you could pipe the output to a file or to labview directly.
USB isn't as easy to work with as serial, so building a driver fron scratch is not something for the faint of heart.
Have you considered a usb to serial converter and use a serial gps?

  • GPS Devices Connecting to Mac 10.8 Via USB 3.0?

    Hello,
Does anyone know if there an issue with GPS devices communicating with Mac 10.8x and/or Apple's USB 3.0 that is on their newest models? Yup, I did send Garmin a support request and got a canned answer that is useless.
Garmin does indeed have a service bulletin on an incompatibility with their FlyGarmin.com site, but there is no mention of their other basic Mac software. Google Earth initially sees the Garmin, tries to crunch the data, then states that "no device was found". The same is true with a couple of other programs that used to work well with my Garmin. My 2012 MacBook Pro (with backward compatible USB 3.0) does not even register that a Garmin GPSMap 495 device is connected (via Apple's System Information), yet a legacy Mac Pro with Mac 10.6x does.

    Dr. Z.

    Update:
I have an HD Camera model (ContourHD) that is also unable to connect, yet a newer model (Contour+2) from the same manufacturer connects just fine and with the same cable. Connecting the problem camera to my legacy Mac Pro finds it functioning as designed. Once again, I am wondering if there is a hardware issue with the first generation of Macs using the USB 3.0 technology. Maybe there is a USB 3.0 driver update and/or firmware update for the individual devices that needs to be designed? Macs have always been so good with seemless connection...

  • Errors when using multiple USB-8473 devices

I am trying to put together an application that uses five USB-8473 devices simultaneously on one PC. I can't seem to get more than two of them running without getting error -1074388956 (object handle invalid). Any two of them will run together, but when I go from two devices to three, I get the error every time. I have gone through and made sure that the object handles I am providing to ncReadNetMult are the same ones generated by ncOpen. Is there some limit to the number of these devices that can be run at the same time on one PC?
It is not a USB issue (though they are all on the same powered hub) because I am only writing 4 frames/sec on each device and get the same issue without any modules attached.
I need to run five at a time so I can talk to five modules with the same address at the same time.

    Marcus,
Can you please clarify your comments regarding the USB hub? Specifically why you believe the hub is not part of the issue? I looked into the spec for the USB 8473 and these devices are rated at 250mA and 5VDC per module. Can you please check the rating of your hub? If you are trying to run 5 modules simultaneously, you will need the hub to output 1250mA to power all 5 modules. One of the common current output ratings is 500mA per hub - thus your ability to run only 2 modules.
One way to eliminate the hub as the root cause is to try to connect multiple modules directly to your computer. I checked on my system and found that each of my 7 USB ports is rated at 500mA each. To check on your computer simply go to the Device Manager and expand USB Controllers. This will let you know how many internal "hubs" are on your system. When you right click on a hub, select "Properties", and click the "Power" tab, you will see the current rating of the ports assigned to that internal hub. If you have 3 (or more) available ports that meet the power requirements, then you should be able to test with three (or more) modules to see if the issue is present without the external powered hub.
To me it sounds as though your hardware requires more current than the hub can supply.
