Use User Defined Tables in a Marketing Document on Row Level

Hello All,
Is there a way to use the fields from a User Defined Table in a Marketing Document on a row level such as for example Purchase Order.
If this is not possible directly, any known work-arounds?

Thanks for your idea/workaround. To be more precize, we don't want to pull information from a UDT field into a marketing document, but from the row-level we like to write information to an UDT field.
Any idea?

Hi,
Definitely you can insert in UDT. You can update but you cant change the Code field after added the rest of the field
can be updated. You cant delete in UDT but you cant delete anytime in SQL Management Studio.

About semantic indexing using user defined ontology

according to the dev. guide, you can do semantic index on a document using user defined ontology. however, multiword class names, individual names and property names defined in the ontology are usually concatenated and cannot have space. if I have a multiword concept such as "http://www.example.org/medicalProblem/DiagnosedPastNeurologicalDeficit" rather than "http://www.example.org/medicalProblem/Diagnosed Past Neurological Deficit" in the ontology and a loaded document in the table also contains the concept "Diagnosed Past Neurological Deficit", so how is the extractor able to identify the concept in the document? do I need to describe the concept in the ontology using rdfs:lable like this "<rdfs:label xml:lang="en">Diagnosed Past Neurological Deficit</rdfs:label>" so that extractor can identify the concept in the document? I am not clear how to use user defined ontology to semantically index documents. thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Hong,
The semantic indexing feature is itself a framework. There is no native NLP engine bundled with it.
There are NLP engines like Open Calais, GATE, and Lymba that can work with this framework. Some engines
can take an ontology and map entities (events, individuals, relationships etc.) embedded in the text to definitions in the ontology. You can also perform the mapping yourself. For example, you can take out the rdfs:label (or comment, or some other descriptive parts) of URIs, build an Oracle Text index, perform a fuzzy text match for a given piece of phrase, and select the URI that gives the best matching score.

User defined table types sometimes show up a unknown data type in Profiler

A couple of our users have a problem when using user defined table types. Calls are made using UDTT as variables and these are then passed to a stored procedure as parameters. Sometimes the application returns a timeout. In such situations a Profiler-Trace
shows the following:
declare @p4 unknown
whereas the correct trace (that is sometimes displayed) should be:
declare @p4 dbo.ReportFilterTableType
ReportFilterTableType is a UDTT. The users do have correct permissions for the UDTT (otherwise they would never be usable for the user). What could be the reason that the data types for the variable
@p4 in the example are sometimes returned as unknown and at other times are returned correctly as
ReportFilterTableType? Could this possibly be a network related issue?

I know this is a old post, but i am also facing the same issue that too in my production server. Did you find any workarround for this issue. Please do reply. Critical problem we are facing.
Alka, Is your problem timeouts when passing TVP parameters, or is it that a Profiler Trace shows type "unknown" for the TVP data type name?
If your problem is timeouts, be aware that TVPs do not have statistics so the optimizer might not be able to generate an optimal plan for non-trivial queries. Declaring a primary key or unique constraint on the table type may help since that will provide
useful cardinality information. You may need to resort to hints in some cases.
I suggest you start a new thread with details of your specific situation if the information in this thread doesn't help.

If you have an UDO in your form, or any other, the FormDataLoad eventhandler should be used.
Take care, it is not inside the eventhandler.
for VB:
Select SBO_APPLICATION in the classes, and select FormDataLoad event

Formatted search in the User defined table

I created two user defined table one is for document row and other is for document master.So in the master table created one column named as Sales order no and through formatted search call the sales order no in that column.Now i want that in my child table i want to show the those items which belongs to the selected sales order no in the master table.So how can i do that through Formatted search.Is there any query of it then please forward it..

I need some quality check on the items after delivery so i am trying to manage it through the user defined tables.I created two tables first is document type ,Second is Document type rows.Now i created 5 user defined field in both the table.Now i want to call my sales order and its items in the UDT.so i created one fms and call the sales order in the Document table now when i double click on the first row after that i am able to see the new table which is the document row table .Now i need the item code and description of the selected sales order in the document rows table.So how the items and description can come in the row type table through FMS..

Found an authorization object was missing, that enabled the case types to show but hitting the GO button brought a page that can not be viewed in IE. on to the next hurdle..........

CANT execute query with parameter on user defined tables using query genera

Dear All,
I have problem when executing query with parameter on user defined tables using query generator.
It seems SBO cannot accept parameter to query user defined tables.
I've tried these:
SELECT T0.U_Status FROM [@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.U_Status = [%0] --- this FAIL
I try to pass the value directly without using parameter and It works
SELECT T0.U_Status FROM [@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.U_Status = 2 --- this SUCCESS
This one works
SELECT * FROM RDOC T0 WHERE T0.width =[%0] --- this SUCCESS
and this one works too
SELECT * FROM RDOC T0 WHERE T0.width = 595 --- this SUCCESS
Is there anyone can help me ....???

I generated this code using query wizard ....
SELECT T0.[U_Status] AS 'Document Status' FROM [dbo].[@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.[U_Status] = (N'2' )
and replaced the (N'2' ) with [%0]
SELECT T0.[U_Status] AS 'Document Status' FROM [dbo].[@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.[U_Status] = [%0]
and It worked ......

Error while linking user defined table to user defined field using vb6.0

I am creating a userdefined field on a SAPB1 table(PDN1) using vb 6.0
I am trying to link this field to a user defined table.
When i do that i get the following error:
"The field 'Related table' should consist of 8 alphanumeric chracters with no valid or default values"
When i try to do the same thing from SAPB1(not using code) there is no such problem.
My vb code is as follows:

This is the size of the
Code
field in the user-defined table to which the new field OB_Locn (in the DB it will be U_OB_Locn) is linked to...
So, it should be preferrably of the same size.

Copy user defined table using copy express

I have created some user defined tables.I want to take backup of these tables using copy express.I created xml file for all these tables.When I copied the tables to another company only two fields were copied Code and Name.Rest of the fields were ignored.

it is only possible if the UDT is registered as part of an object ( UDO ) - further info http://scn.sap.com/thread/3277846 . So for pure UDT actions you have to find another way ( SQL trigger, UI API, periodic query ).

Hi Ria,
Unfortunately you cannot insert data in to a UDO table using the DI API (by marking your table as a 'Master Document' table you have made your UDT part of a UDO). It is one of the current limitations with working with UDOs. All data must be entered through the UI (ie manually).
If you just want to store data in a UDT then it is best to create the table as 'No object'. You can then use the DI API to read and write data to your table. However, you do lose the UDO functionality (eg no automatic saving or searching etc).

The word is that you cannot use the PLD with user defined tables (i wish it was possible). So in any case to do that you have to use third party tools such as Crystal Reports and Reporting Services

How to fill the records from a User Define Table to PO item Grid

Hi To all,
I need to fill data from User Define table records into Purchase Order Item Grid.
I created an UDF Filed in PO - Header Part - "PRS"(Filed Name)
By using Formatted Search in itemcode column, i called a query,
"Select itemcode, qty from (@user define tablename) where PRS = $http://OPOR.U_PRS"
For eg:
Output from querry
ItemCode Qty
ABC 1
DEF 2
DFG 7
SDGD 9
By using formatted search it is filling only first data in to itemcode column in PO Grid.
Please help, how can i fill ALL the data in to my PO Grid?
