Use Variables created in script block outside of script block

hello
I have a code like:
$command= { param($p1,$p2) if (Test-Path "D:\$p1") {
$s=$p1+ "_" +$p2 } }
Invoke-Command -session $sesion -ScriptBlock $command -ArgumentList 1,2here session is already created with remote server. Invoke-Command runs that script block on a remote server.Now I want to use that variable $s after invoke-command like $command= { param($p1,$p2) if (Test-Path "D:\$p1") { $s=$p1+ "_" +$p2 } }
Invoke-Command -session $sesion -ScriptBlock $command -ArgumentList 1,2write-host $sif ($s -eq "ZTE_3G") {Write-host True} else {write host false}But here value of variable $s comes as null.Could you please help me how can i use value of that vairable?

You need to return $s in your scriptblock and then save the output of Invoke-Command to a variable in order to test.
Something like this may work:
$command= {
param($p1,$p2)
if (Test-Path "D:\$p1") {
$s=$p1+ "_" +$p2
$s
$s = Invoke-Command -session $sesion -ScriptBlock $command -ArgumentList 1,2
write-host $s
If ($s -eq "ZTE_3G") {
$True
} else {
$False

  • Using variables in a calculation function in Diadem script

    Hey guys,
    I'm new to working with Diadem Scripts.  I have tried the two different ways below to make the values of a channel equal to the results of a formula containing created variables.  I can do it if the formula contains values in place of the variables using the calculator method.  I would appreciate any guidance on how to correct the syntax in the below scripts.
    Option Explicit 'Forces the explicit declaration of all the variables in a script.
    dim a, b, c
    a = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef1").Value
    b = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef2").Value
    c = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef3").Value
    Ch ("[2]/ROP (ft/hr)") = a + b* Ch("[2]/Backhead Pressure (psi)") + c* Ch("[2]/Backhead Pressure (psi)")^2
    Or
    Option Explicit 'Forces the explicit declaration of all the variables in a script.
    dim a, b, c
    a = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef1").Value
    b = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef2").Value
    c = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef3").Value
    call ChnCalculate("Ch(""[2]/ROP (ft/hr)"")="&a+&b"*Ch(""[2]/Backhead Pressure (psi)"")+"&c"*Ch(""[2]/Backhead Pressure (psi)"")^2")

    I think you need to use channel name strings of the format "Group Name/Channel Name" in your ChnCalculate function.  I usually use a formula, a symbol array, and a value array to get this done:
    Dim a, b ,c, sFormula, aSymbols, aValues
    Redim aSymbols(6), aValues(6)
    aSymbols(0) = "a"
    aSymbols(1) = "b"
    aSymbols(2) = "c"
    aSymbols(3) = "A"
    aSymbols(4) = "B"
    aValues(0) = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef1").Va
    lue
    aValues(1) = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef2").Value
    aValues(2) = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(2).Channels("rop regression formula").Properties("ResultNonLinearFitCoef3").Value
    aValues(3) = Data.Root.ChannelGroiups(2).Channels("ROP (ft/hr)").GetReference('ref type')
    aValues(4) = Data.Root.ChannelGroiups(2).Channels("Backhead Pressure (psi)").GetReference('ref type')
    sFormula = "Ch(A) = a + b*Ch(B) + c*(Ch(B))^2"
    Call ChnCalculate(sFormula,aSymbols,aValues)

  • Using a variable outside of the block it has been incremented

    Hello everyone,
    I came across a scenario where in I am having to use a variable (for summing up), outside of the block within which it has been incremented. Its something like below:
    -------------- Header section of MS Word RTF (repeats for every page) -----------------------
    For Each Header
    <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'TotalTax', 0)?>
    -------------- Body section of MS Word RTF -----------------------
    <?start:body?>
    Lines Group
    Increment TotalTax for each loop
    End Lines Group
    <?end body?>
    -------------- Footer section of MS Word RTF (repeats for every page)-----------------------
    <?xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, 'TotalTax')?>
    End For Each Group
    ---------------------------- End of template ----------------------------
    The varaible 'TotalTax' is being declared in the header, incremented within the Body and is being used in the footer section. For the above mentioned syntax, the value being displayed for TotalTax is '0', i.e the value for which it has been defaulted while declaration.
    Can someone please help me in getting it fixed such that TotalTax would display the value it was assigned in the Body rather than '0'.
    Thanks,

    Hello and thank you for responding.  I checked out the link you provided; however, my problem is not reviwed there.
    I am setting a variable inside a <?start:body?>.  Inside the body are several loops - which is fine.  But it ends with <?end body?>.  If I reference my variable BEFORE <?end body?> it retains it's value from the calculations within the program.  But if I try to use the variable AFTER the <?end body?>, it give me an error "NULL" value or similar.
    Any thoughts?

  • Use of Essbase substitution variables in filename of a MaxL report script

    Hey guys.
    Is there a way that I can embed the value of one or more Essbase substitution variables in the filename of a report script in a MaxL command?
    I'm running a report script that uses sub. vars for entities and accounts and based on which of those members are set in the variables I want the filenames to include those member names. I'm looking for a way to include the &varName in the filename using the export database command.
    THANKS!

    Not really.
    If you want to do a lot of string mangling in a script outside of the report script, you can use DISPLAY VARIABLE:
    MAXL> display variable CurMo;
    application         database            variable            value
    +-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------
                                             CurMo               MayRegards,

  • How to dynamicaly (with variable) create itab - using field symbols?

    Hi,
    I need to create internal table using variable - field symbols. I think like this, but...
    data: begin of itab occurs 0.
          include structure <b>s_itab</b>.
         end of itab.
    s_itab is variable with structure of dbtab.
    I need to include variable structure table.
    i. e.
    My itab then changes structure according variable s_itab.
    First can be s_itab like table of bseg, second can be s_itab like table of hrp1001. And then I get desired itab.
    Thanks for any ideas. zd.

  • How to delete a DAC block inside a sub-block by using script?

    Hello,
    how can I delete a DAC block that’s inside a sub-block diagram using a script?
    The command
    call SCHEMELOAD("xxx")
    call BlDel("yyy")
    only deletes blocks that are in the highest level of the actually loaded block diagram, not blocks that are in a sub-block diagram. (DIAdem 2012)
    regards,
    Eric

    Hi Walter,
    I don't need to delete a sub-block, I'd only like to delete blocks which are placed inside a sub-block.
    All other commands I tried work for blocks no matter where they are inside a block diagram. For exaple: You can put a math formula block inside a sub-block wich is inside a sub-block which is inside a sub block and it does change the formula by script command.
    But when using the command Bldel it deletes all blocks but not the ones inside a sub-block.

  • How to get a field that using variable in order to create a query

    Hi,
    I found a difficulty when creating a query. so, I would like to ask you some question.
    1. How to get a field that using variable which that field I want to put it in my query?
    For example, I would like to take quantity field in inventory audit report. And when I put my cursor in
    quantity field, there was only variable, item, etc. How to get this and put it in query?
    2. How to combined the invoice quantity with inventory audit report quantity?
    3. I have a query like this:
    SELECT distinct T0.[DocDate] as 'Tanggal', T0.[DocNum] as 'No.Faktur', T1.[ItemCode] as 'Kode Barang',
    T1.[Dscription] as 'Deskripsi', T1.[Quantity] as 'Quantity', ((T1.[LineTotal])/(T1.[Quantity])) as 'Harga
    Satuan', T1.[LineTotal] as 'Harga Total', T3.[CalcPrice] as 'HPP Satuan', ((T3.[CalcPrice]) * (T1.
    [Quantity])) as 'HPP Total', T4.[ItmsGrpNam] as 'Jenis Barang', T5.[SlpName] as 'Nama Sales', T1.
    [WhsCode] as 'Kode Gudang' FROM [dbo].[OINV] T0 INNER JOIN [dbo].[INV1] T1 ON T0.DocEntry =
    T1.DocEntry INNER JOIN OITM T2 ON T1.ItemCode = T2.ItemCode INNER JOIN OINM T3 ON T2.ItemCode
    = T3.ItemCode INNER JOIN OITB T4 ON T2.ItmsGrpCod = T4.ItmsGrpCod INNER JOIN OSLP T5 ON

    [DocDate] >=[%0] and T0.[DocDate] <=[%1] and T4.[ItmsGrpNam] =[%2] and T1.[WhsCode] =[%3]
    Is it possible if I just take one invoice with invoice quantity and only show up at once although I have a
    lot item cost for that item? (because I'm using FIFOmethod).
    Please help me.. cause I'm stuck with this thing :l.
    Thank you very much, and I'm waiting your respon soon.

  • Using variables in WLST Script ant task

    I have multiple scipts that are run using ant tasks, however, I do not want to have to enter the password every time one of these scripts is executed. Instead I would like to use the following ant task to store the password in a variable/property:
    <target name="getPassword" >
         <echo message="Domain: ${domain}" />
    <echo message="Username: system" />
    <input message="Please enter password:" addproperty="password" />
    </target>
    I would then like to use that variable/property everytime a script is executed like this:
         <target name="deploy4x">
              <echo message="***** Copying 4X.ear *****" />
              <copy file="${build.path}\jar\4X.ear" todir="${apps.dir}" preservelastmodified="true"/>
              <echo message="***** Updating 4X.ear on ${domain} *****"/>
              <wlst debug="true" fileName="Deploy4X.py" executeScriptBeforeFile="true" failonerror="true" >
                   <script>
                        connect('system','%s' % ${password},'%s' % $url)
                   </script>
              </wlst>
         </target>
    However, the script blows up every time I try to run it b/c of the connect() line. I have also tried connect('system','%s' % password, '%s' % url).
    Has anyone else successfully used variables in an Ant WLST Script task?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    when I use *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT AS %TEST% = BAS(REVENUE) - it work fine.
    BUT ! after my first commit, it seems like the variable value is lost. And the *Xdim_memberset takes all.....
    Fortunately enough, *select still contains the variable value after *commit.
    Thanks,
    Joergen
    *Correction !
    It actually works, it still contains the variable value after commit !!

    i have a variable FileName. In refresh tab i have written a query like SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'YYYY,MM,DD') || 'TEST' FROM DUAL. i tested the variable and its value is correct.
    i have created an interface to extract the data from table and store it in file. i have assigned variable FileName to the file.
    Now when i run the interface...the file is created but the header is created in different file and its name is ambiguous e,g(19) and the data is placed in other file with the name which is the value of variable FileName.....
    ISSUE is two ODI creates two files one for header only and other for data....
    when i run my interface in a package the file created perfectly ..... but i dun want to use package i want to create file through running interface only

    one file name is some number like 19.txt and other filename is 20121211_TEST.txt (this name is coming from variable).....
    however when i create a package with variable and interface,only one file is created 20121211_TEST.txt (header and data are not created in separate files.)

  • Using variables in Calc scripts and Business Rules

    I am sure there have been previous discussions about this, but can somebody let me know the benefits of using variables in Calc scripts and BRs?
    Thanks,
    A

    I have never used calc variables and after reading a study guide, which talked about them, I couldn't really understand the benefits.^^^I use variables all the time to make abstract difficult formulas. Below is an example.
    /*     Declare variables     */
    VAR varSalaryCosts ;
    VAR varProdOHLabXXXX ;
    VAR varXXXX ;
    A whole bunch of code here along with very limited FIX statement and then...
    "Salaried Labor"
         varSalaryCosts = "Salary Costs"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried" -
                             "Wage Bonus"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried" -
                             "YYYY Retention Bonus 40%"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried" -
                             "YYYY 60% Ret Bonus Accrual"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried" ;
         varProdOHLabXXXX = "Number of Employees"->"ZZZZDepartments"->"Codes"->"Salaried" +
                             "Number of Employees"->"Blah Departments"->"Codes"->"Salaried" +
                             "Number of Employees"->"Humph Departments"->"Codes"->"Salaried" +
                             "Number of Employees"->"TTTT"->"Codes"->"Salaried" ;
         "Salaried Labor" = varSalaryCosts * ("Number of Employees"->"Salaried" / varProdOHLabXXXX) ;
    )The last formula is how the formula was described to me by the business owner. I find it to be much easier to read than something like:
    "Salaried Labor" = ("Salary Costs"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried" -
                             "Wage Bonus"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried" -
                             "YYYY Retention Bonus 40%"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried" -
                             "YYYY 60% Ret Bonus Accrual"->"No Department"->"No Category"->"Salaried") *
                             ("Number of Employees"->"Salaried" /
                             ("Number of Employees"->"ZZZZDepartments"->"Codes"->"Salaried" +
                             "Number of Employees"->"Blah Departments"->"Codes"->"Salaried" +
                             "Number of Employees"->"Humph Departments"->"Codes"->"Salaried" +
                             "Number of Employees"->"TTTT"->"Codes"->"Salaried")) ;I have used ARRAY in a really-cool-but-alas-not-invented-by-me calc script to do currency conversion in Planning better than Planning does currency conversion. (How's that for a run-on sentence?) It is one of the six blog posts I am working on and I will finish it soon, I hope. I am sort of in thrash mode right now. It does have its uses and I'll try to remember to update this thread when I'm done.

  • How to use variable in rule script in HFM

    I'm now writing VB script for HFM rule, and have something to ask about the use of variables in rule.
    The script below generates the following error.
    -Error description-
    Line: 4, Error: Invalid Expression
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None] = cur"
    An error has occurred in Hyperion Financial Management.

    Dim cur
    cur = 500
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None] = cur"
    End Sub
    On the other hand, the script below works properly.
    -Rule script-
    Sub Allocate()
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None] = 500"
    End Sub
    Probably I'm not using variables in proper way, but have no idea how to correct it.
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    try this in the sub calculate:
    HS.Exp "S#Actual.A#77300.I#[ICP None]=" & cur
    For the sub allocate, I suppose that you do not have the issue because the allocate is not launch during the consolidation process. Allocate is launched separatly by a right click, and can only be done when calculation status = "OK", which means that all calculation have been done (that could not be the case if you have an error like this in sub calculate).
    Hope it helps
