User Account changing positions exchange outlook folders needs to move to the new user account
I have an executive assistant that is moving to another EA position in the company. Her mailbox is structured with 3 or 4 hundred folders in her in box. The person that was in the position she is moving to retired so she has been logging in to that account
and doing the same thing to her in box.
When she does move to this position she is going to want to move the files from the retired account to her account and move the files in her account to the new hires account when they are hired.
My question is what is the best way to handle this situation? Move mailboxes somehow? Export
and import pst or csv?
Office 2010 EA that is moving Office 2013 on the EA that has retired. The mailboxes are on an exchange 2010 on site server
Thanks in advance for any help.
John R
I would configure her Outlook so that she opens the other EA's mailbox and then she can drag and drop the folders she needs.
Hi,
Great method from Ed.
I have tested it, and it is working well as expectation.
Thanks

My iTunes downloads were made using my old gmail address. I had to quit using this address as it got hacked. How do I get my iTunes downloads into my new iTunes account that was created with a new gmail address? In my old iTunes account (with the old gmail address, I can't 'update' my email address or even 'add an alternate address' as I had already created this gmail account and inputting the new address into iTunes gives me the 'pop-up' that 'this account is already in use.' Advice please!
Good luck. It took me weeks to fix this when I had to do it. Your old ID branches out in lots of places. You may have to delete app and get them again, at least that is what Apple told me. Plus, all of your settings on your iPad that required any ID, will have to be changed. My old ID kept showing up in different places for weeks. Changing it on Apple.com is just the beginning.

When I try to open up any files or any application on the other account it says the file not found
You can change a password for an Apple ID. However, now whoever finds the iPod will know his email address and I assume that the email address is his Apple ID.
Apple ID: Changing your password
According to the terms of the iTunes Store, you have to be 13 in order to have an Apple ID. -

i need help! i am trying to update iphoto on my macbook pro that i had bought from someone else. although i am signed into my account when trying to update it is asking me for the previous owners account details and it wont let me change it to my details how can i solve this problem please.
thank you
Jan RobinsonThat's because the Mac, OS X and the iLife apps that came preinstalled on the Mac all belong to the previous owner. The previous owner needs to call Apple care and have their Apple ID disassociated from the Mac. Then the hard drive needs to be totally erased and OS X and the iLife apps reinstalled using OS X Recovery.

After creating a new user account, how do I move my files into the new user?
I have an issue where my 'Desktop/Screensaver' prefs seem to be corrupt somehow. When I click on that icon in System Preferences, it stalls and I get the spinning ball, thus resulting in a force quit. After reading a Mac Format magazine where someone wrote in with a similar issue, they said to trash various prefs (did that and made no difference) and if that didn't work, try creating a New User account (therefore creating brand new system prefs) and move your stuff over.
Well, I've created the New User account, but I can't figure out how to move/copy my stuff into the user folders. After copying and attempting to move stuff in, I see folders with a red circle with a white line through it (like a 'no entry' sign).
Any clue as to how this can be done? All I'm trying to do is to reinstate the system prefs so they are not corrupt anymore on my log-in.No. Not the main Library folder. Make absolutely sure you are in the Home Library folder and not the main Library folder.
Your Home Library folder is hidden in Lion. To get to it, in the Finder menu, select GO and hold the option key down. Select Library in the submenu. The Finder window will open in your Home Library. This is where your user prefs are stored.
Once there, you will see the Preferences folder. Open it up, select all items within it and move them to the trash. You will need to restart in order for the new Finder preferences to be recreated.
Once you restart, then you will be back to the default preferences to the system and all applications. And yes, it will affect all settings including your Dock, just as logging into a new user. You will have to reset everything there also.
If you wish to do a selective method, instead of deleting all preferences, try deleting the one associated with your problem. Screen saver problems should be affected by the system preferences, so try deleting this:
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
com.apple.systempreferences.plist.lockfile
Note that when you delete system file preferences, a restart will be required. For applications, just quit the application before trashing preference files. -
What is the password for the new user account that is set up via Migration Assistant?
I recently purchased a new Macbook Pro, and used Migration Assistant to download My Documents from a previous PC desktop. The migration was successful, but afterwards the new user account that was set up to house all the new documents became inaccessible to me.
My administrator's password works for my computer and I am able to log in and out, change settings, etc.
However, if I try to log in to the new user account, no password works. Through the administrator's account I have also attempted to change the password, and I am allowed to do so, but when I use the new password I set up, it still denies me access.
Additionally, if I log out the administrator's account and click the new account to log in, it prompts me to make a new password for the account, and whatever I enter is also rejected as "incorrect." (The screen shakes)
I am very frustrated my inability to access this information I must use to work, and I have no idea what the password might be, or how to change it properly.
PLEASE HELP COMMUNITY! I have only had my mac for about a week and I have had it up to hear with this "user friendly" system. You can change the password from Visual administrator. login to visual administrator, and select services,, under that you will find the system details. change the password.
even if the visual administrator password is expired then u can go thorugh configtoo.bat and there u can change the password.
if that even not possible then u need to login to sql and can execute the commands for changing password.

I had to replace the hard drive in my iMac. Upon initial start up, I created a admin user name and password. Then I connected a WD external hard drive that had a back up of my orginal HD. Upon running Migration Assistant and pulling over the back up I found it pulled over the ORIGINAL user & security information from the original hard drive. In order to see iPhoto or iTunes libraies I must sign on to the "Old" user.
I want to Merge old and new users into only 1 user or delete the original user however need to have the iPhoto/iTunes libraies accessable by the "New" user.Your best bet is to start over, by restoring your entire system to the exact condition it was in. Otherwise, the transferred user account probably won't have permission to its backups. See the pink box in Problems after using Migration Assistant for an explanation.
See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #14 for details on how to do the restore. -

Help? Will the new user be able to use my account to buy apps?
If you did not sign out of your Apple ID in theory the new owner could use your account. However, they would also have to know your password in order to use the account.
What do you mean by you can't buy apps on your new iPad? That is such a broad statement. You are not signed into your account in Settings>Store? The new owner tried to use the Apple ID and and your account was disabled?
I would get in touch with the new owner if you have concerns. You will need to work this out somehow. I suppose that you could wipe the device using Find My iPad if it's not too late and all of the conditions for doing so are still in place. -
I have set up a second iTunes user account on my PC, but when I create the new iTunes account it copies the music, videos etc from the original account and they seem to be linked, so that when I delete a song from one library it deletes from the other one.
On the online tutorials I've seen it shows that when you create a new iTunes library it should open as a blank account, but that isn't happening.
What am I doing wrong? If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
If necessary:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

I have just used migration assistant to import photos (using an ethernet cable) from my PC. It has worked but they have gone into a new user on my MacPro. How can I merge them into the one user account.
How many pictures (or how many bytes) are we talking? Now that the pictures are imported one way to cross users is to use a removable drive (although large volumes of files preclude this).
The other is to login as the user where the pictures are, then copy them into the public drop box of the user where you want the picture.
The arrow is showing (in ths example) copy files from the Pictures folder for my user to the guest user accounts public dropbox. When you do this you may have to authenticate and you won't be able to see the results of the copy until you log in as the other user.

The user profile my appleTV was synced on my computer to no longer works (corrupt). My Apple TV is still synced to that profile and all of my recent purchases are going to that username. Does anyone know how to get all of the purchased items back and to the new user (same computer)? I created a new user on my computer and moved the itunes folder to the desktop but never changed the path to which the apple synced to. Now I can only see old items I purchased before the user profile went bad. PLease help!
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Changing the library the Apple TV is synced with will delete all synced content from the Apple TV, but it won't delete purchased content.
You should be able to change the library, resync any content you want and transfer your purchases back to the new library.
