User authorization base on calculated field

I may ask for an imposible, here my case
we have a customer repository, where depending of the convination of values of few fields, diferent organizations are responsible of each customer (4 diferent organizations, I would call them by colours)
in that way I thought to make four calculated fields, as isrelevant_for_organization_blue, etc... where I codify the logic behind
(note, a customer can be relevant for more than one organization, therefore the four fields)
and of course, the users want to only only their relevant customers, and not able to see the non-relevant
so, the first idea, "let's maintain the authorization on the calculated field !!"
which it come to do not work, becouse no authorization can be made on calculated fields
second idea, "let's calculate it on import time", which even is worst idea (in case logic change, there is a need of correct the data) and it does not work neither. No calculation fields on import time ...
any other idea arround ??
thanks you
(running MDM 5.5.SP6)

what you mean  by "by using assignments" ??
doing it manually ??
we are loading from diferent sources via XI into MDM (XML file into the MDM folder ...)  and we would not like to codify this logic into XI. Te logic is subject to change from time to time (often I fear)
correction to historical data when logic is changing, can be done using a calculate field and manual correcting the necesary records. But on daily/weekly bases (when we load info) it should be done someway automatically
any ideas ??
thansk in advance

  • How to keep a calculation field blank until the user enters a number?

    I am building a sales sheet for a school that sells scrip as a fund-raiser. I have the document set so that when the user enters the number of scrip certificates he wants (say, two $25 gift certificates at Lowe's), the program will automatically calculate that this user owes $50 for that scrip category. However, there are more than 100 companies that one can choose from, and if the user doesn't enter a number, the calculated field shows $0. Is there a way that each field can stay blank until the user enters a number bigger than zero? By the way, I'm using this calculation to determine the value (borrowed from a user on this forum): event.value = 50 * this.getField("Lowes").value
    Thanks!

    There are two approaches. You can either add the following Validate script:
    // Custom Validate script for calculated field
    if (+event.value !== 0) event.value = "";
    Or you can change your custom Calculate script and set the Format type of the field to "None":
    // Custom Calculate script
    (function () {
        var v = +getField("Lowes").value;
        event.value = (v !== 0) ? util.printf("$%.2f", v) : "";

  • Calculation Field to be mapped to different data object's column name in Oracle BAM 12c

    Hi,
    I am having a challenge to enable drill down to 2nd level report by passing calculation field as parameter.
    As an alternative, I am thinking to point calculation field to another data object’s column name and generate report so that I would be able to pass that as parameter to drilling report view.
    Is there any way to map calculation field to different Data object’s column name? Thanks in advance.

    1. Yes, you can.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá number(10));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values (10);
    1 row created.1.1 and 1.2 and 2. You can choose UTF as your default character set. It allows the user of non-English characters in VARCHAR columns in your whole database. It is not per tablespace.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá varchar2(100));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values ('âãäçìé');
    1 row created.

  • Calculated Field is Disable while using PowerPivot to access multiple sheet column in a single pivot,

    Hi,
    I am trying to add a calculated field in my power pivot table to show the percentage on the basis of 2 columns, please let me know why this is not appearing and how can i fix it.
    Any other way if i can add a calculated field in the pivot table will be very helpful.
    Thanks
    Aman

    Thanks KR for the response,
    Yes I loaded multiple tables in the data model and using PoewrPivot ,
    i have a rating column, in that i have 0,1,2,3,4,5 rating numbers and we call it "Total expected occurrence",
    a single person can get same rating multiple times, if a person is getting >=4 rating no. we call it "Occurrence >= 4". now i have to find out the total
    count of "Occurrence >=4" for a particular person from "Total expected occurrence" column,
    once will get the  net "Occurrence >=4" for everyone, it should divide
     "Occurrence >=4"/ "Total expected occurrence" to take out the percentage of rating 4 for a particular person

  • SSRS Using WHERE in a calculated field

    Hi All,
    Im having a real issue with something that seems like it should be easier than it is.
    In my tablix I want to add the expression =Sum(Fields!ID20.Value)-Sum(Fields!ID20.Value) BUT I need to determine if another criteria is met.
    EG - I want =Sum(Fields!ID20.Value WHERE [InOut]="In")-Sum(Fields!ID20.Value WHERE [InOut]="Out")
    Many Thanks for any help

    Hi LB79,
    In Reporting Services, Aggregate functions cannot be used in calculated field expressions, since the data for calculated fields will be based on individual rows not on group basis. As a workaround, we can directly add the expression to a textbox of the tablix
    instead of using that calculated field. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
    Right click the text box which you want to insert the calculated field, then click Expression.
    In the Expression text box, refer to the following expression:
    =sum(iif(Fields!InOut.Value ="In", Fields!ID20.Value,0),"DataSet_name")-sum(iif(Fields!InOut.Value ="Out", Fields!ID20.Value,0),"DataSet_name")
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Updatable property of Calculated Field in ViewObject does not work

    Hello,
    I have set the Updatable property of some ViewObject attributes to "while new".
    In the page those attributes are shown as <af:inputListOfValues> components.
    When creating a new row, those components properly appear as enabled and let me insert any values, since the row is new.
    However, after a following commit, once the table in the page is refreshed, I still see some components enabled on the row I committed before. This only happens with attributes based on calculated fields, not with those based on real table fields, as if the "while new" property specified on the ViewObject calculated fields was ignored.
    Do you know why? Is there a solution or work around?
    Below are the ViewObject XML section and the af:component definition based on the attribute.
    <ViewAttribute
    Name="Cod"
    IsPersistent="false"
    PrecisionRule="true"
    Precision="15"
    Type="java.lang.String"
    ColumnType="VARCHAR2"

    </DesignTime>
    <Properties>

    </SchemaBasedProperties>
    </Properties>
    </ViewAttribute>

    columns="#{bindings.BLOCK.hints.Cod.displayWidth}"

    Helga,
    The question is what does this "require" flag do? We read the book of life (cl_htmlb_inputfield), and see that this flag only controls in the first instance a little red * that is rendered next to the input field. This is a pure visualization for the user of the page.
    In addition you can ask that a check be done in the browser. This you can do with:
      <htmlb:inputField  id = "wander"
                         value = "E"
                         required = "TRUE"
                         doValidate="true" />
    However, I would not serious recommend this. Now even if you user presses a cancel button, or link, or breadcrumb, or..., the check will still complain.
    What we currectly do (and recommend), is to set the required flag on the <htmlb:<b>label</b>/> tag. And then do the actual checking on the server (must be done in anycase). If no value, or not correct, then also set the "invalid" flag, render out error message and redo page.

  • Is it possible to edit a calculated field?

    Is there a way to make a calculated field editable, overriding the calculation? My form table calculates HST on pay amounts. But not everyone charges HST so I'd like the user to be able to put $0 in the field manually. I can create an HST option box for each row but...that's a lot of "contriving" and not a practical solution ( I don't think). Is there an easier way to do this?
    Thanks.

    The HST is variable because the form is used in all provinces.
    In order to make it a no-brainer for the user, I have incorporated a check box on each row. If the check box is checked (value=1) then the HST calculation happens, otherwise the value=0. So this makes sense but doesn't work. I have adjusted the calculation order, doesn't make a difference.
    Note: I've never used java but I used to work with Access databases so I do have an understanding of the language/logic, hopefully enough to help me learn this quickly.
    Here is what I tried. HST option is the value of the checked Check box, which is "1". This code is returning the else value fine but otherwise isn't working and doesn't change when I toggle the Check box. Can you help me adjust this.
    var h = this.getField("HSToption");
    var f = this.getField("TOTALbeforeHST");
    var g = this.getField("HSTPercentageValue");
    if(h == 1){
    event.value = f.value * g.value;
    }else{
    event.value = "0";

  • Plus signs displaying in calculated field

    I have created a form with a table that has a row that calculates automatically. I then created another form that I copied and pasted the table into. In the second form, when my users display or print the form with Adobe 7.0 Standard, the calculating field now displays a plus sign when nothing is entered to calculate. How do I make the plus sign disappear?

    Actually, that was my first instinct as well, but it is not the issue. No matter how large I make the fields, no matter where I put them (IE not touching any other fields) - the plus signs still display. The really frustrating thing is that they won't display for me, just for other users. I have Adobe 7.0 Pro and we have just updated our users with Adobe 7.0 Standard. The plus signs do not display for me, but they do for the other users. To make the problem even less consistent, I had the exact same table in another form and in that form the users have used that table without any issues. I merely copied and pasted the table into the new form. I can't see any settings that have been changed. Any ideas?? Even a work around would be great.
    Thanks,
    Rebecca

  • Calculated field hidden when field is blank

    This is actually similar to a discussion from a few months ago.Our forms are intended to be filled out online, printed and e-mailed, faxed, or snail-mailed. Many times the customer will simply print out the form and fill it out by hand. When I create forms with calculations the "$" or "0.00" appear; thus making it difficult for someone filling the form out by hand to work around those symbols/numbers. A few months ago, I had a similar situation involving percents and the gurus on this forum (Thank you, gurus!) helped me with the following code and it worked perfectly at hiding the calculated fields unless something was entered in the fields to be calculated.
    For a field with a format of "None" user a Custom validation script:
    if(event.value == 0) {
    event.value = ""; // set field to null;
    AFNumber_Format(0, 0, 0, "", "", true); // set format to number 0 decimals, no currency;
    } else {
    event.value = event.value; // keep value;
    AFPercent_Format(2, 0, 0); // set percent format 2 decimal places.
    This time, the problem involves simple numbers (not percent, not currency). I used the same logic and the fields actually show/hide like I want, but the numbers need to be formated with a comma separating the thousands and a decimal point with two digits after. I can't figure that out! Can someone please offer some advice? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Make sure you are using the correct quotation marks. Use either the double quotation marks or the single quotation marks and not 4 single quotation marks.
    if(event.value == 0) {
    event.value = ''; // set field to null (2 single quotation marks);

  • Wrong base amount calculation for entry tax

    Hi,
    We want to capture entry tax in PO with condition type ENT1. The issue appearing for the condition is that the Base value calculated to calculating the ENT1 is (Base Value + Excise + 2 * VAT). Where as the propser calculation should be (Base Value + Excise + VAT).
    For example -
    Base Value - 1000
    Excise (BED + ECS + SECESS) - 10.3
    VAT (4%) - 4
    Sub Total - 1014.30
    Entry tax (2%) - 20.29
    Where the entry tax getting calculated is 20.37 considering VAT as 8 (2 * 4). We want the entry tax as 20.29.
    How can we achieve this?

  • Viewobject transcient attribute update value base on other field

    Dear All,
    I have a viewobject with a transcient attribute which is calculated based on some other attributes queried from the DB. I have set the default value of the transcient field using the express:
    adf.object.viewObject.getFTType()
    and the getFTType() in the viewObjectImpl will return a string base on other fields' values;
    Then I test it in the AM Model tester and it looks fine. However, when I drag this VO to a Table in the page, the transcient field column always showing the same value on every rows instead of showing different values base on the other fields on each row.
    I've added a button to print the selected row values in the table and after I click on the button, the transcient field column is updated according to my selected row other fields' values and it updates the value for the whole column instead of only the selected row.
    I wonder if there is sth wrong I did? Thanks a lot.
    The getFTType() method is pasted here:
    public String getFTType() {
    Row row = this.getCurrentRow();
    String ftType = "";
    try {
    if (row.getAttribute("TxType").toString().equals("99")) { // all non-GJs

    if (row.getAttribute("TiMToMYorn") != null) {
    if (!row.getAttribute("TiMToMYorn").toString().toLowerCase().equals("y")) {

    } else {
    ftType = "Misc FT (Future)";
    } else {
    ftType = "Misc FT M to M (Future)";

    ftType = "ECI FT (Future)";
    } else {
    ftType = "Misc FT (Future)";
    } else { // non-future FT

  • Using AGO function in calculated fields in Analysis

    Oracle BI 11g.
    Hi!
    I have time-hierarchy and try to use function Ago in calculated fields. I created Analysis and add columns Year, Revenue, Revenue (1 year ago). In formula of column "Revenue (1 year ago)" I wrote:
    AGO("Sales"."Revenue", "H Calendar"."Year", 1)
    "H Calendar"."Year" - is level in my time Hierarchy "H Calendar".
    But when I clicked [OK], I got error: [nQSError: 27037] Unresolved level: "H Calendar"."Year".(HY000)
    What I do wrong?

    Hi,
    I think it's a bug, try this.
    If Analysis you have a time folder with this object dimension:
    Time Hierarchy
    Total Time
    Year
    Quarter
    Month
    Week
    Day
    And a measures 1- Revenue try to calculate the criteria like this (write in the level the formula "Time"."Time Hierarchy".Year)
    For example:
    AGO("Base Facts"."1- Revenue", "Time"."Time Hierarchy".Year,1)
    If you have the sample sales of the 11g installed try this on A - Sample Sales
    SELECT s_0, s_1, s_2 FROM (
    SELECT
    0 s_0,
    "A - Sample Sales"."Time"."T05 Per Name Year" s_1,
    AGO("A - Sample Sales"."Base Facts"."1- Revenue","Time"."Time Hierarchy"."Year",1) s_2
    FROM "A - Sample Sales"
    ) djm ORDER BY 1, 2 ASC NULLS LAST
    For me it works.

  • Calculated Field In ADF Form

    I want to create calculated field.
    I have 2 date fields, my user case is to calculate difference between those 2 date field and display difference on the fly to user.

    You will need to write custom logic in a method of a managed Bean in your View Controller project.
    follow these steps -
    1)In the ViewController project ,create a java Class called <whatever_name_you want>.java
    2) register the managedBean in TaskFlow->Overview-> Managed Bean say in pageFlowScope.
    3)create a public method which returns a Number (of days or whatever you need) in your bean which calculates difference between the dates using Calender API (You can google for this)
    4)Bind this method to the value property of the field which shows the difference between these fields.

  • Answers - would like to use calculated field's name, not expression

    Hi Everyone,
    I'am trying to make several calculated fields in a single query in Answers. Each field references the previous one, and the expression of the first one is already 5 rows long.
    Now I reference it in the second calculated field by using "Edit Formula" -> "Column" -> 'Colum name'.
    My problem is, that it puts the expression of the previous field, not it's name. I have to use it for almost 10 times in this single expression, so -although it works fine- it is totally unreadable, and very hard to debug for example.
    And after all, I should use this field again, in several next calculated fields.
    Does anyobody have an idea, how to make calculated fields having only the name of referenced other fields in it?
    The repo is set for ad hoc reporting also, so using session variables which need to be set in Administrator Tool, is not an option.
    Thanks for help in advance.

    Hi Venkat,
    thanks for the response. It would work, no doubt, in this special case, the problem is, that users use the repo for ad-hoc reporting aswell (and they don't have access to repo administration of course), so one can count on it, that there would be a new request of this kind every day to change the repo with customized user variables. I would like to avoid this of course.
    Having the name of a referenced field in a new expression would be a simple solution. Is it possible, that it can't be done?

  • Authorization Objects for Multiple Fields on a Screen

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to create authorization object on a screen with 20 fields and there are 3 users, each user for eg: User-A has rights to Display and modify a few fields and User-B has rights to diplay and modify a few fields and same is the case for the 3rd user, and there are some fields which all can modify.
    what i can do is create 2 authorization objects for each user one with all fields that he can modify & Display and other with all fields which he can display only. In this way i will have to create 6 authorization objects for 3 users, is there a way to reduce to 3, one for each user or even bring it down to 1 for all.
    Thanks,
    Thirumal

    Hi again,
    1. Thanks for the transparent example.
    2. Taking the same,
        it would be like this, in the program.
    ( u must agree that
    if there are six different cases,
    then there will be six different IF ENDIF
    in your program, for edit/display combination of fields)
    (you may also use GROUP1, GROUP2..GROUP4
    concept along with authorisation concept
    to group related fields )
    2. suppose user2 or user 1 has logged in.
    3. in the program,
       before displaying the fields,
      a) use authority-check
       with 1, 2 and check sy-subrc to know
       which VALUE (1,2) is there for rights.
       b)then, logic would be like this
          (for display/edit of all fields)
        IF value =  1.
        field1-visible = true
        field1-editable = true
        field2-visible = true
        field2-editable = true
         field3-visible = true
        field3-editable = true
       endif.
       if value = 2.
        field1-visible = true
        field1-editable = <b>false</b>
        field2-visible = true
        field2-editable = <b>false</b>
       endif.
