User based application deployment issue

Hi
Since one week ago I have some problems with the user based application deployment. It has worked until last week without any problem but now I can't deploy any application. If I check the deployment status the say me ever "unknown".
I see the username but no device before. But, if the user logon on another (new) device the deployment works again. But on all actual from the useres used devices I can't deploy applications.
Has anyone an idea what could be the reason for that and how could be fixed?
Thanks in advance.
Sacha

yes I've the ConfigMgr toolkit installed but the deployments are also on the Deployment Monitoring Tool not listed. the client logs are normal, no errors. I'm pretty sure the deployment doesn't reach the client. there are no requirements configured.
just to clarify, all actual clients are affected, not just a few. what could be also interesting, I've changed last week the client settings. before I had automatically primary device assignment by useage configured. Now I've disabled that again. Maybe that
could be a reason?

    go to "DC Metadata" "used DC"  , and "Properties" in context menu
    for all you your components.
    problematic component reference probable has check box "deploy time" checked.
    remove that reference.
    usually only "Build time"  check box must be checked. try to do so.

    Hello Amol,
    Did you have changed the default password of SDM which you had supplied during installation if yes then reset the password to the original one also check the sap  Note 701654.
    This  problem is caused by having different pwds in the active user store "Secure File Store"
    Hope it helps.........

    Regards
    Eric

    Hello,
    There are two reasons for the Clusterwide exception:
    1) Firstly, check whether all the referenced components (any used DCs) are already deployed on the server. If not, then first deploy those components and then try deploying the eform.ear again
    2) If all the dependent components are already deployed, then the reason for this error is that there is already an .ear deployed on the J2EE server with the same application and/or component name. So, you must either:
    a) Undeploy the previous application (having the same application name as the eform.ear application)
    OR
    b) Create a new application in the eform.ear project and rename the component. Renaming the component would require changing the name of the component in the implementation as well, wherever the component has been referenced. The newly created application must be mapped to this new component.
    Then try re-deploying the eform.ear again.
    Hope this helps. Do let me know if you need further help.
    Regards,
    Divyata

  • Application deployment issue in WLI 8.5

    Hello all,
    <br>
    I have created an application via a local instance of weblogic workshop 8.1 and would like to deploy the compiled .ear into a weblogic server domain.
    <br>
    During the deployment process, I get an error (see bottom of post).
    <br>
    However, I attempt to deploy this .ear file into a weblogic integration domain and deployment is a success.
    <br>
    <br>
    <b>Could anyone provide me with a reasoning behind why I can deploy on an integration domain, but not on a server domain?</b>
    <br>
    <br>
    <b>Is it possible to keep this deployed application in an integration domain and still have it function, even though it was originally meant to be in a server domain?
    What is the different between a server domain vs. an integration domain?</b>
    <br>
    <br>
    I am using WLI8.5 sp6 and both the integration and server domains are using the same jrockit jdk.
    <br>
    <br>
    Thanks
    <br>
    Enrico

    I was able to recreate the issue on a much smaller scale. I've attached the zipped project folder. This is a brand new project file, I did not copy it from my old one. Follow these steps to see what I'm talking about:
    1. Unzip the directory and open the lvproj file.
    2. Double click on My Installer in the prject window to open the installer properties.
    3. Go to Source Files on the left hand side.
    4. On the right side of the source files window, you will see a the files in the directory tree. You should see parse.dll listed in the main directory as well as the data directory.
    5. Remove the application from the tree by highlighting one of the files and clicking the red X.
    6. Add the application back to the [ProgramFilesFolder]\DLL_test directory. You should see all files added correctly (Help.html in the main dir, parse.dll in the data dir).
    7. Click OK
    8. Re-open the My Installer properties and go back to the Source Files page. Help.html has been replaced by parse.dll in the main dir yet again.
    That should be clear enough to reproduce what I'm seeing. Also, go to the Source File Settings page and you should see that when you highlight parse.dll, you can't select the  register COM checkbox. It is only available for Application.exe.
    You can open DLL_test.lvproj in notepad  and go to the installer section to see how it lists FileInfo[2]. It shows the filename as Help.html, but the tag is parse.dll. This doesn't make any sense.

  • EPMA Application Deployment issues

    What are the issues we ll get when ever we ll deploy an epma application.

    That question is so vague I am not sure what answer you are expecting, how can somebody predict what problems you are going to experience with no information provided.

  • Application Deployment Issue on JBoss 4.2.3

    Hi,
    I am trying to deploy a Java Application on JBoss 4.2.3 AS. This application run seamlessly on JBoss 3.0.5. After deploying, I could see errors below.
    Could any one please suggest what could be the issue? Were there any changes in the deployment file structure? Please advice.

  • Socket based application - Performance Issues - Suggestions Needed

    Hi All,
    We have an application which basically has been developed using core java. Here is a high level information about the application:
    a) It opens a serversocket which allows clients to connect to it.
    b) For every new client connection, a separate thread is created and this thread deals with requests from clients, processing the data and replying back to clients.
    c) Each socket is polled continuously and sockettimeout is 2 seconds. If there is a timeout, we handle the situation and socket is again read. So basically sockets is read every 2 seconds. If number of timeouts reaches a configurable value, we close the connection and thread is dropped as well.
    d) In production, three instances of this application are running with the help of a cisco load balancer. It is there for last 5 years.
    However there has always been some minor performance isssues and we have sorted them out using different types of garbage collectors, by introducing hardware load balancers, upgrading the code for new Java versions. It is currently running on 1.4.2.
    However there has always been some performance issues and today while googling over internet I came across following on the bea website which says that core java sockets are not as efficients as native API. BEA has implemented its own APIs for weblogic. My queries are:
    a) Are there any better Java Socket/network API (for solairs, I know Java is plateform independenet but there could be lib which also using native libs) which are much more efficient than Core Java.
    b) We are getting the InputStream/OutputStream and creating objects of DataInputStream/DataOutputStream to read the data 'Byte-By-Byte'. Each byte can have different information thats why it is required. Are there any better way of getting info than what we are currently doing.
    c) As I mentioned, we are continously polling the socket for read operation with a timeout value of 2 seconds. What is the better among the following from performance point of view: (1) Frequent read operation with a lesser timeout value or (2) Less Frequent read operations with larger timeout value. (3) Any better idea??
    Please suggest few things or pointers which I could do to improve the performance of the applcations. Many thanks.
    Thanks,Akhil
    From BEA website:-
    "Although the pure-Java implementation of socket reader threads is a reliable and portable method of peer-to-peer communication, it does not provide the best performance for heavy-duty socket usage in a WebLogic Server cluster. With pure-Java socket readers, threads must actively poll all opened sockets to determine if they contain data to read. In other words, socket reader threads are always "busy" polling sockets, even if the sockets have no data to read. This unnecessary overhead can reduce performance."

    My recommendations:
    - Always use a BufferedInputStream and BufferedOutputStream around the socket streams
    - Increase the socket send and receive buffers to at least 32k if you are on a Windows platform where the default is a ridiculous 8k, which hasn't been enough for about 15 years.
    - Your 2-second timeout is far too short. Increase it to at least 10 seconds.
    - Your strategy of counting up to N short timeouts of S seconds each is completely pointless. Change it to one single timeout of N*S seconds. There is nothing to be gained by the complication you have introduced to this.

  • Application deploy issue

    When I update my application,I undeploy my old version and deploy my new version.
    But when i reach it.
    It always show the old version .
    Why does it not refresh?
    If I must restart the AS?
    But if i in product mode,it is not safely.The service should be stop.
    Is anybody some idea?

    user462965,
    My guess is that you're doing something wrong, but you have not supplied enough information to determine what it is that you are doing incorrectly.
    Are you using OC4J stand-alone, or Oracle Application Server?
    How are you undeploying your application?
    How are you deploying your new version?
    How are you determining which version is currently deployed?
    There is absolutely no problem deploying new versions of applications while OC4J is running. There is absolutely no need to restart OC4J after deploying a new version of an existing application. However, there is a background thread that periodically checks to see whether the "server.xml" file has been modified, so it could be that you simply need to wait a bit, after deploying, before you check the version of your application.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • ADF application deployment issue

    Dear All,
    We have installed Weblogic server 11g with version 10.3.2.0 in UNIX machine.
    We are trying to deploy an ADF Application using .ear file, but we are getting an error:
    *weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: wlp-tools-custom-app-lib, exact-match: false], [Extension-Name: wlp-tools-analytics-app-lib, exact-match: false].*
    Can we get any help regarding this.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

    The error points to a missing library in the WLS. In your ear file you reference a lib 'wlp-tools-analytics-app-lib' which is not deployed on the target WLS or not wired up correctly in the managed server you deploy to.
    Normally library references are defined in the META-INF\weblogic-application.xml inside your ear. Check this file for the reference. If you need the lib you must deploy it to the WLS instance and target it to the managed server you try to deploy to. If you don't need the lib you can remove the reference.

  • Automate USER BASED PACKAGE installations in SCCM 2012

    Hi All,
    I want to automate the installation of software(in my case a user based package) from the Application Catalog.
    Here is just some general information:
    1. All software(Applications and Packages) deployed to Device Colllections will be published in Software Center
    2. All software(Applications and Packages) deployed to User Based Collections will be published in the Application Catalog
    3. Once software has been deployed from the Application Catalog, it is also available/visible in Software Centre .. this could be confusing for (scripted) test purposes!
    To Automate installations i tested the following (Powershell) methods:
    Methode 1 - Install Device Based Packages (This works)
    $SoftwareCenter = New-Object -ComObject UIResource.UIResourceMgr
    # to show applications
    $Application = $SoftwareCenter.GetAvailableApplications() | where {$_.name -like $APPNAME}
    # to install an application
    $SoftwareCenter.ExecuteProgram($Application.id, $Application.PackageId, $true)
    (once an User Based Package has been installed from the Application Catalog, it will be shown in the results of this method .. but initially it don't!!)
    Method 2 - Install Device based Applications (This works)
    Invoke-WmiMethod -Namespace root\ccm\clientsdk -Class CCM_Application -Name Install -ArgumentList 0,"xxAPP scope IDxx",$True,$False,1,1
    Method 3 - Install User based Applications
    Invoke-WmiMethod -Namespace root\ccm\clientsdk -Class CCM_Application -Name Install -ArgumentList 0,"xxAPP scope IDxx",$False,$False,1,1
    (once an User Based Application has been installed from the Application Catalog, this method can be used .. but initially it can't!!)
    Method 4 - Install User Based Packages (NOT WORKING)
    This solution is based on an (scripted) installation from the Application Catalog. Information can be found on the following sites:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2012/09/19/extending-the-application-catalog-in-system-center-2012-configuration-manager.aspx
    http://allthingsconfigmgr.wordpress.com/2012/10/02/application-catalog-uncovered/#more-284
    You can see the usable operations/methodes, by using the following URL in your SCCM 2012 environment:
    http://YOURSITE/CMApplicationCatalog/ApplicationViewService.asmx
    The method i tried for an installation part is 'installapplication', see example below:
    $service.Installapplication($appid, $deviceid, $null)
    This syntax is correct because it's giving a result that indicates the my command was correct(when i change the variables it produces an error), but that's it ... no application is installed.
    For the record: the operations/methods 'RequestApplicationForUser and GetApplications' are working fine.
    There is also log file 'ServicePortalWebService.log' on the Application Catalog Server in
    C:\Program Files\SMS_CCM\CMApplicationCatalogSvc\Logs, where i can see that Installation call is (correctly) be done.
    To be short:
    Is there anybody who can tell me how to automate (with Powershell) an USER BASED PACKAGE installation?
    With kind regards,
    Hayo Veenstra

    Thanks for your reaction.
    What i want is creating shortcuts in the startmenu of a user, that initiates a SCCM software installation. We also use this method for our SCCM 2007 environment by initating advertisments. I do not want a required user deployments, because when that user
    logs on on another machine (for a short time) .. all his/her software will be deployed. So i do not want to install unnescessary software .. only what a user initiates.
    Do you have other suggestions?
    I'm not sure about the shortcuts.  But, as for required deployments to users installing on all machines they log onto:  Not if you have User Device Affinity running for you.  You can set a requirement in the application to only install on a user's
    primary device.  Another option that we often deploy is to use App-V to deploy a virtual version of that app if the device they logged onto is not their primary.  When they log off, it goes away.  This is all done using User Device Affinity.
    This is new in 2012.

    i have some how managed to handle my error at both REQUEST MESSAGE peoplecode and at HANDLER peoplecode. Tested the webservice using SOAPUI tool. After passing all inputs required, the customer is not created and i am getting a blank response message which should contain the SETID and CUST_ID as response. Please help me out whether i am missing any Key part in creating a CUSTOMER. Note, i haven't written any Peoplecode for creation and i am also not aware how to do the same or where to write the logic for it.
    Kindly bare with me and do help me out as i m struck with it for long. Thanks in advance

  • User based deployment not working

    Looking to make app available to user IDs.
    I have the user IDs into a user collection and making package available to collection.  Content is on the distribution points.
    It isn't showing up on client.  Package is set to be available, so I'm not getting an return code automatically.
    It isn't required so there is no package ID or deployment ID to search for.
    Where do I start looking?
    Also, this is my first use of user based collections, so is there anything I need to enable.

    Here's a post to reinforce Torsten's answer and provide additional detail:

  • User-based deployment to untrusted forest

    Case:
    Domain A has ConfigMgr 2012 server with all roles (MP, DP, SUP...)
    Domain B is untrusted and hasn't got any ConfigMgr site server roles installed
    ConfigMgr site has been introduced to Domain B also, so all the resources can be discovered (systems, users)
    I can deploy software to systems in the untrusted forest
    I cannot deploy software to users in the untrusted forest
    Is this normal behavior? Do I need MP to untrusted forest so that I can get my user deployment's working? When I deploy software to users in the untrusted domain, they don't even show up in the AppDiscovery.log and deployment status on the console doesn't
    show the device for the user.
