User creation in a web service

Hi everybody,
in a web service we use a code like the following one to create a new EP user, but its ID is displayed as null.
IUserMaint user = userFactory.newUser("<user>");
user.setFirstName("firstname");
user.setLastName("lastname");
user.setEmail("<mail>");
user.commit();
IUserAccount userAccount = userAccountFactory.newUserAccount(testUserId, user.getUniqueID());
userAccount.save();
userAccount.commit();
Can you help us?
Thanks in advance.
Angelo

The sample code in the PDK uses:
        iusermaint = userFactory.newUser(username);
        //Save the data permanently.
        iusermaint.commit();
        //Save the new user's unique name and ID to the strings.
        uniqueName = iusermaint.getUniqueName();
        uniqueID = iusermaint.getUniqueID();
        //Create user account using the unique name and ID read
        //from the system before and the password read from the bean.
        IUserAccount iUserAccount = accountFactory.newUserAccount(uniqueName, uniqueID);
        iUserAccount.setPassword(password);
        //Save the data permanently.
        iUserAccount.commit();
The difference to your code is that they appear to get the uniquieID from the just created user, whereas you have hardcoded it...

  • How to remove user authentication for SAP Web Service?

    Hi there,
    I am using SAP Web Services in my flex application. Every time wsdl url is called, the username\password window pops up. I want to remove this.
    I searched in the forum and based on the discussions, I tried giving the user name password under Web Service Administration using SOAMANAGER, by selecting No Authentication option. But this did not work. I still get that pop up.
    I also tried giving the credentials in SICF, under Logon Data tab of the service. This too failed. I kept getting the pop up.
    Can someone pls let me know how can I remove this? If username password in mandatory to be passed, I can create a temporary username which will be used to access all of my webservices and use it. But I want to remove this authentication part when I am using the flex application ang calling the web service url from within it.
    Appreciate your help.....

    Hi,
    It is a little bit tricky, because the interface has changed several times in different releases. I know that it is possible without authentification.
    I remember that i defined somewhere the default client, the username and password in the ERP system to use by this web service.
    Maybe it helps if you try the old transactions WSADMIN, WSCONFIG or WSADMIN2 ?
    Sorry that I cannot help you more. I hope it helps.

  • Is Axis used in creation of a web service via Jdeveloper?

    I have a very simple java class that I am selecting and having the wizard create a web service. What actually is being done behind the scenes? Does Jdev 10g use Axis to create the Jax-rps web service? If so how can I change the parameters passed to the Axis calls. I need to force the creation of the web service to use SOAP 1.1 and WSDL 1.1. I have to consume this with a AXIS1 client.

    Hi Matthias,
    You can try using the ICF Recorder in TCode SICF, steps below:
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/12/adc54044ed7b2de10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
    That should at least catch the entire client request (1:1) before the error occurs. Remember to de-activate the recorder after you're done. There's also an option to activate a ICF trace using the similar menu path, this also should be de-activated once you're completed.
    Regarding the SOAMANAGER traces, it needs to be activated before anything is logged there. That might be why you're not seeing anything there.

  • User Defined Exceptions in Web Service

    I am trying to create complex user defined exceptions in Web services I am creating. Is there a way in JDeveloper to assist in modifying the WSDL to include all required parameters for fault handling that I can use to do this? Or do I have to write the XML manually in the WSDL file. Any recommended ways to accomplish this?

    Hello,
    raise duplicate_loan; won't avoid the trigger to insert and commit. If you really want to avoid the insertion, use the raise_applicatrion_error() instead.
    For instance : Raise_Application_Error( -20001, 'Insertion cannot be validated' );Then in your Forms module, you can catch it like this:
       Begin
       Insert Into ...
       when others then
          LC$Erreur := Substr( SQLERRM,1 , 500 );
          LN$err_code := ABS(SQLCODE);
          If LN$err_code = 20001 Then ...
       End;

  • A user that consumes a Web service is authorized to use then in BackEnd?

    Hello,
    I need to help me please
    Can you validate that a user that consumes a Web service is authorized to use this service?.
    I mean, I have a backend system, which has an RFC, which we published in PI as Web Services, and a third application consumes it with SOAP Adapter. How I can check that the user is consuming the service is authorized (role / profile) in the backend to run this service?
    I searched SAML, but I will not check certificates, I need to check that the user is authorized in the backend, do I need IDM?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    Please go to back end system and see the authorization profile of the user consuming the service. He must have SOAP Run time aurhorization for object S_SERVICE for the specific service. Also, the user needs application authorization for the underlying RFC call.
    Thanks,
    Venu

  • How can I o create, modify or delete users using OIM 11g web services?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to create, modify or delete users using OIM 11g web services.
    The end users will be signing on to the online application, a user interface to request ids online. The user interface is the home grown application to request ids.
    I want to integrate this user interface with OIM 11g. I generated the java classes using the out of the box wsdl file as mentioned in the Developer’s Guide for Oracle Identity Manager 11g. But I need to know how to create users using web server client from a given wsdl file? Is there a sample web service client program to create a user in OIM?
    If you know of any document which I can follow or if you can give any details I really appreciate.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Viraf

    Hi Chong,
    Were you able to figure out the approach? I am facing the same issue like this. I have created a web service where the input values are no. of days to extend user's end date and user's employee ID. Output will be true or false. But I am getting error while searching user in OIM DB. I think my web service is not to query OIM DB
    Please let me know if you have worked on this senario.
    Thanks,
    Kalpana.

  • Is it possible to add a user using the RESTful Web Services SDK

    Others have asked before about user management features in the RESTful Web Services SDK.  However I can find no answers or links which provide an answer to the question 'Is it possible to add a user using the BI 4.1 SP2 RESTful Web Services SDK'?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,

    Hi Steve
    Unfortunately, not possible. The BI RESTful can only get "stuff" that is already there. I suppose this would fall under some sort of "Object Creation" API and that is not there. Yet. Rumors abound, but nothing firm. Just as a BTW.; the Business Intelligence platform RESTful Web Service Developer Guide 4.1 is here:

  • How to embed user credentials in Secured Web Service from OBIEE 11gFMW?

    I am trying to invoke a webservice that I successfully exposed as a WSDL Web Service using EBS Integrated SOA Gateway. I am using OBIEE 11g Action Framework which uses WebLogic.
    Here are the steps I completed:
    - I exposed a WSDL web service in EBS R12 via Integrated SOA Gateway
    - I granted the access to this service in EBS R12 to user SYSADMIN
    - I used OBIEE 11g to make a Action to call the Web service (using Action Framework) by searching for the WSDL
    - When I try to execute the action: I get the error:
    Action could not be invoked.
    ServiceExecutionFailure :
    Error invoking web service HR_PHONE_API_Service at endpoint http://ip-10-87-33-3.ec2.internal:8000/webservices/SOAProvider/plsql/hr_phone_api/ Missing <wsse:Security> in SOAP Header
    PROBLEM: I am unsure how to add the credentials for SYSADMIN user and password to add the SOAP username/pwd to the outgoing call. According to the documentation in the Integrators guide, FMW Security guide, and Web Logic guides..seems we have to configure the SOAP call to have the proper credentials. The documentation is not very clear on exactly how to do this. I tried to set up the credential store and an account in ActionFrameWorkConfig.xml but I am still missing something. I am logged into OBIEE as biadmin and I am trying to call a webservie in EBS that is granted to SYSADMIN/sysadmin user. Pls advise.

  • How to retrieve user identity in a web service using SSO/SSL?

    I am using OracleAS10g Rel2 to develop a web service implemented as a java class. The web service client uses basic HTTP authentication and is to access the web service over SSL. I would like to know in general how I might access the user identity from within the java class. I am aware that it is possible to pass environment variables from the HTTP server to the OC4J container with Oc4jEnvVar, but can't sufficient documentation on this and am not sure this is the right approach.
    Any help is greatly appreciated..

    There are a couple of possible techniques--
    A) Use the AccesControlContext API
    You can use methods from the java.security.AccessControlContext,
    java.security.AccessController, and javax.security.auth.Subject
    classes to get the authenticated subject.
    1. Create an AccessControlContext object by calling the
    AccessController.getContext method. The getContext method takes a
    "snapshot" of the current calling context and returns it in an
    AccessControlContext object.
    2. Get the subject of the context by using the Subject.getSubject method.
    For more information on the classes and methods described in this section, see the API
    for the java.security and javax.security.auth packages at the following Web
    address.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/index.html
    For example:
    java.security.AccessControlContext context =
    java.security.AccessController.getContext();
    javax.security.auth.Subject sub = javax.security.Subject.getSubject(context);
    B) use the ServiceLifecycle API:
    You can use the javax.xml.rpc.server.ServiceLifecycle and
    ServletEndpointContext interfaces to obtain user information from security
    tokens, such as SAML, Username, or X.509. For example, the
    ServletEndpointContext.getUserPrincipal method returns the name of the
    authenticated user; the ServletEndpointContext.isUserInRole method
    returns whether user belongs to a specific role.
    Follow these general steps:
    1. Implement the ServiceLifecycle interface for the Web service.
    2. In the implementation of the ServiceLifecycle.init method, cast the
    context parameter to ServletEndpointContext.
    3. Call methods, such as getUserPrincipal and isUserInRole, on the
    ServletEndpointContext context parameter to obtain user information.
    For example:
    package test;
    public class SecureService implements securePort,
    javax.xml.rpc.server.ServiceLifecycle {
    private javax.xml.rpc.server.ServletEndpointContext context;
    public void init(Object obj) throws javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException {
    context = (javax.xml.rpc.server.ServletEndpointContext)obj;
    public String helloUser(String message) throws java.rmi.RemoteException {
    java.security.Principal principal = context.getUserPrincipal();
    if(principal == null) {
    throw new RuntimeException("Principal not found");
    String userName = principal.getName();
    return "Hi "+userName+"! "+message;
    public void destroy() {
    context = null;
    }

  • Request aborted by user calling an Oracle Web Service

    Hi
    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.2 to create my web services and web service stubs. I have a web application that uses the web service stubs to call the Business Logic that is exposed as Web Services. I'm getting the following intermittent error:
    IOException: Request aborted by user
    Something is happening with the Web Service stub. After checking google I found out that the only class that throws this error is tHTTPClient.HTTPConnection class from the httpclient library.
    Can this be a timeout error?

    It look likes every stub you create with Oracle JDeveloper is not thread safe. This is really strange since OracleSOAPConnection uses HTTPClient and HTTPClient is thread safe.

  • Exposing Portal's User Management functionality via Web Service issue

    Dear experts,
    I am trying to create and deploy a web service that will tap into User Management functionality (UMFactory) of the Portal. I created a Java project with a Java class with one of the methods exposed via Web Service. Since this is a Java project and not a Web Dynpro project, a number of external jars and libraries, but I don't know how to add WD_RUNTIME and I am guessing that my problem is related to that.
    When trying to run the application, I receive the following error message when trying to envoke UMFactory:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/tc/logging/Location
         at com.sap.security.api.UMFactory.<clinit>(UMFactory.java:166)

  • User defined class  for Web Services

    I am trying to use the Web Service Publishing Wizard to publish
    a class as a web service. The wizard will not allow me to select
    the method I wish to publish. When I click on the "Why Not?"
    button the message says:
    "One or more parameters did not have an XML Schema mapping
    and/or serializer specified"
    I use user defined classes as parameters of the methods of the service web.
    How cam i install this web service on "Oracle J2EE Web services"?

    If you use Java Beans (or single dimension arrays of Java Beans) that implement the java.io.serializable interface as per this article:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/samples/customtype/content.html
    then Oracle9iAS will handle the publishing process of custom data types. The publishing wizard in Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.2 doesn't support this yet, but the link in the article to the JDeveloper help gives a fairly straightforward workaround. This workaround will be eliminated in Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.3 (due late August).
    Does representing your parameters as Java Beans work for your problem?
    Mike.

  • How to retrieve the username/password of logged user so to use web services

    Hi Experts,
    we are using web services from a web dynpro application, the web services we use are CAF web services; actually we are "hardcoding" username and password so to be able to execute these web services, using this code before calling the web service:
    wdContext.currentRequest_ReporteDeRendicionDetallada_RElement().modelObject().setInvokerProperty(javax.xml.rpc.Stub.USERNAME_PROPERTY,"testuser");
      wdContext.currentRequest_ReporteDeRendicionDetallada_RElement().modelObject().setInvokerProperty(javax.xml.rpc.Stub.PASSWORD_PROPERTY,"testpassword");
    but as this is not a very good practice, we want to replace the "testuser" with the logged user and, of course, retrieve the password and use it instead of "testpassword".
    How can we achieve this? I couldn´t find any tips on this.
    Best regards,
    Marco.

    Hello,
    thanks for your anwsers, although I´ve followed both links I couldn´t find the answer to my problem.
    I need to know how to retreive user and password from the UME of the portal so to be able to execute web services in the java stack, the UME is connected to a LDAP in our corporation.. so may be the passwords are not stored in the UME?
    If it is not possible to retrieve the passwords of the users , which is the best practice to deal with username/passwords to execute CAF webservices from web dynpro java? Hardcoding is not a very good practice..
    Best regards,
    Marco.
