User Defined Function Issue with Inbound Node

Hello Guys,
I have some doubts to do the some code with a UDF.
I do a call to an RFC to get some data of R/3 from PI. In the return I have:
<item>
  <field1>
  <field2>
</item>
The item is 0 to unbounded, and I have to do a loop at the item and take the values of field1 and field2 of the last item.
I have created a UDF with context queue, but how can I take the values
It is correct if I have?

I want to take the values of the las item for field1 and field2 in strings a and b, and after do a check of the values to put the result.
What I don't know hot to do is to take these values.

Use removeContext just after the RFC lookup result & before the UDF. That would give you all the field values( field1 & field2) values in one context. Then use this UDF:
for(i=0;i<var1.length;i++)
  if(i = var1.length - 1)
    result.addValue(var1<i> ) ;
Use this same UDF for both the fields seperately.

  • Calling user defined functions in Matlab Script Node

    Greetings!
    I am not successful in calling a user defined function inside a Matlab Script Node.
    The path has been added to Matlab, but the Matlab script node is not calling my function.
    I am calling it as follows:
    a= fcd(b,c);
    and the fcd.m file is calculating the 'first central difference' - works in Matlab, but not in LabVIEW:

                i am doing Idoc to file Scenario.my problem is in message mapping..
    sometime at (IDOC) source one segment get repeated 2 times.
    like  
            E1IDPUK2   (a,b,c)
            E1IDPUK2   (a,b,c)...              <b> but i want the particularfield  value which comes from 2nd segment..in above case take "a".</b>
    the segment occurances can be 2....many..   and so want the particular field value from last segment
    the particular field (ex="a") is populated for every repetition of segment but i want
    the last repeated segment  ,"a" field value...
    can any body share me the java code...
    note : a,b,c are taken as example fields of the segment.

    it's pretty easy:
    you need to use UDF of type queue
    inside it:
    check how many segment are there
    and choose the last one
    and you will have this field

  • Matscript node void ouputs when calling user-defined functions

    Hi,
    I have a (for most of you, probably simple) problem with calling user defined function within a mathscript node.
    I have a script inside a MathScript node which calls three UD functions. When I try to output variables, LabView sets their type to void, so I cannot use them further. this would imply, that the script is nondeterministic, (since the types would get set at runtime). However, if I replace the call to the UD function with the actual contents of the function, the variable becomes deterministic. Now, since I have several call to these functions, I have no desire in writing all of them many time, introducing many variables etc. What would you advise me to do?
    Find attached my scripts and functions.
    I need this script running on a RT Target, and have been battling this for weeks, with almost no success!

    As far as I know, LabView checks the syntax as you write in the MS Node, and since there is no X mark next to the line number, it indicates, that the syntax is correct. Since i have set the path to the UDF in both the VI options and in the general MAthScript setting, how does adding the path command help? even if I add path('directory') command, a yellow exclamation mark appears, saying the command is slowing down performance.

The following conditions cause the warning glyph to appear.     I have the module with one user-defined function:

    I upgraded from 2.5.13 to 2.5.16 and the bug disappeared. The reason why I didn't do it before was that I hadn't seen any relevant for me fixes in the release notes of 2.5.16 comparing to 2.4.13 (Actually I already have had two patches for two relevant issues in the 2.5.13 version)

  • Calling ORACLE Store Procedure with parameters in user define function

    Hi everybody,
    We have a scenario connecting Oracle DB thru JDBC adapter.
    We have to call store procedure with input parameter and output parameter to retrieve data from DB. The implementation was made using JDBC adapter by building the correct XML message with EXECUTE action, and it works fine.
    Now we need to use DB lookup within mapping. I wrote users define function with SELECT statement (using the JDBC adapter) and it works fine but I need to call store procedure in ORACLE instead of SELECT statement.
    I found lot of examples concerning DB lookup but none of them explained how to write UDF calling store procedure in ORACLE with input and output parameters.
    I am looking for an example.

    I agree with you, but issue is we have lots of existing store procedure, which we need to call where damn required. I am sure those will be few but still i need to find out.
    If you think you are going to get existing MS Stored Procedures  or Oracle Packages that had nothing to do with the ORM previously to work that are not geared to do simple CRUD operations with the ORM and the database tables, you have a rude awakening
    coming that's for sure. You had better look into using ADO.NET and Oracle Command objects and call those Oracle Packages by those means and use a datareader.
    You could use the EF backdoor, call Oracle Command object and use the Packages,  if that's even possible, just like you can use MS SQL Server Stored Procedures or in-line T-SQL via the EF backdoor.
    That's about your best shot.

  • How to call User defined functions in Mathscript Node ?

    I have created a user defined function and saved it to Search path of Labview as an M file. If I run my program in Math script window, the function is recognized and the program works properly. If I do the same with MathScript node , the user defined functions are not identified.

    Do i need to add any import statements like "import java.lang.String" in the beginning.

    I need some help with a user-defined function. My source message contains multiple
    generic records (1000 char string), and my target message is 1 header record,
    then multiple generic records.  See description of source and target messages below:

    Target:
      Field1 (char5)
      Field2 (char5)
      Field3 (char5)
      IT_Data
        GenericRecordTable 1..unbounded
          Row (1000 char string)
    Basically, what I need to do in my user defined funtion is to map the first record
    in my source record to the 3 header fields, then map all of the rest of the records
    (starting from line 2) into the GenericRecordTable.
    Can someone please help me with the code for the user defined function(s) for this
    mapping?

    screen. In the menu, choose Simple Function or Advanced Function.

    Technical name of the function. The name is displayed in the function chooser and on the data-flow

  • Urgent Help Needed - Associating Statistics with User-Defined Functions

    We have an appication uses cost-based optimizer and uses a lot of TO_DATE and SYSDATE calls in FROM and WHERE clauses. For certain reasons, every call to TO_DATE and SYSDATE has been replaced by MY_TO_DATE and MY_SYSDATE respectively (which in turn call built-in functions). However, cost based optimizer is behaving strangely, which is understanble, based on the lack of user-defined functions statistics. I am under the impression that I should use something like:
    ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_to_date DEFAULT SELECTIVITY ?;
    ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_to_date COST (?,?,?);
    ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_sysdate DEFAULT SELECTIVITY ?;
    ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_sysdate COST (?,?,?);
    but what should the values (?) be?. I guess I want to replicate TO_DATE and SYSDATE values, but how would I find out what they are? Thanks in advance...
    P.S. I am also looking for workarounds (I cannot create a synonym for TO_DATE right?), so any help is welcome!!!

    You told your actual parameter is
    5, 5, 7.3 and 'z'
    so change your method like
    public static int test(int x, int y, double d, char ch)
    because 5 - int; 7.3- float or double; z is char.
    your method returns
    public static int.
    so you should return only int variable. but in your code you mentioned double. it's not correct.
    The original code should look like
    public class rubbish
         public static void main(String args[]){
              rubbish f = new rubbish();
              f.test(5, 5, 7.3 ,'z');
         public static int test(int x, int y, double d, char ch)
              int value;
              x = 5;
              y = 5;
              d= 7.3;
              ch = 'z';
              value =((int) d + x + y + ch);
              System.out.println( x + ch + d + y);
              return value;
    }//here int value of z is 122.
    and int(7.3) is 7
    so 7+5+5+122 = 139.3
    but value =((int) d + x + y + ch); returns 139. because you convert double to int that is 7.3 to 7

  • User-Defined Function and Context Manipulation

    Hi Mapping Gurus, I need your help.
    I have a user-defined function and one of my input parameter (c) is in a loop (EDI segment).  So one, if I execute my function I get:
    Exception:[java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0]
    If I change the context or use the remove context node function it’s working but it’s always taking the first row in consideration since I'm using c[0] .  Here is the logic:
    String WHERE_CLAUSE = "A"" = ""'"b[0]"'"" and B = ""'"c[0]"'";
    So since c is an array [], I have tried different logic to get to the right row.
    1- I tried using another parameter (e) to pass a counter or an index to my function.  So each time it's looping, it's passing a new value to the function but I’m still getting the first row and I’m not to sure why?
    int G = Integer.parseInt(e[0]);  // e[] = My counter field
    String WHERE_CLAUSE = "A"" = ""'"b[0]"'"" and B = ""'"c[G]"'";
    2- I tried using a parameter stored in the container:

    5- I tried using the Seeburger Java Variables and guess what in the main fonction, as new UDF,... and guess what, same result!
    So anybody out there that was able to get UDF's working into a multiple context scenario?
    Am I missing something?

    All 3 logics were returning always the first row or a counter of 1 if the logic is in the main ReadTable function.

    As you see above, each recordset has order transaction. One Root message can contain multiple of these. So, when I map to the IDOC, I want to filter out any ord_type <> XX.
    If I use regular graphical map, it only looks at first recordset and accepts all or rejects all.
    I need to use UDF. In the UDF, what comes in as input ? Resultset is output -correct ? Now how do I usse graphical mapping with UDF to generate the correct target info

  • How to migrate sql server 2000 user defined function returns table

    How do I capture the SQL Server 200 user defined function that returns table? Is this supported in the current version of Oracle Migration Workbench? I am using the latest version - Release 9.2.0.1.0 with SQL SERVER 2000 plug-in.
    I was able to capture the SQL Server 2000 user defined function that returns string and smalldatetime but not the functions return table during the migrate data source stage.

    This is not currently supported. The next release of the Oracle Migration Workbench (due very soon), will do a better job of catching this mad reporting an error. We are looking into a suitable mapping and have created bug # 2355073 - TABLE DEFINITIONS NOT ACCEPTED FOR TABLE FUNCTIONS to track this issue.
    Once possible solution we are looking into is using the object type to emulate. Here is an example from the bug:
