User Photo

Hi
I am usinf User  Photo Self maintenance which lets users to upload their photos.
I found that these photos are getting stored in root/um folder.
But when i try to navigate to that folder it say access denied error.
So what shall i do to navigate to that folder?
Eventually i am trying to get the image of that user using java code
Please give me some inputs
Regards
BP

Hi,
although the photos are stored in the um repository (DB), there is no way to access them with the standard km navigation iView.
You have to use the delivered User Photo Admin iView to maintain the photos.

    CUPS 8.6.3
Jabber Client for Windows Version 9.0.1 Build 8802
I noticed that the Cisco Jabber for Windows Client does not automatically update with the photos that updated in Active Directory.
I had updated a user's photo in AD and noticed that it would not change. I browsed to "C:\Users\<user name>\App Data\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\Photos" and had to manually delete the user photos in this folder. I exited out of the Jabber Client and restarted the program. When I did this, the Jabber Client crashed, I saved the crash report, and re-opend the Jabber client. This time the client opened properly, and the updated photos were now appearing!
Seems like Cisco would not have set the photos to Cache to the local computer....
    Any thoughts?

  • How To Display User Photo (jpegphoto attribute) From OID LDAP Entry

    Hello everyone,
I've spent a few days looking for a solution to this problem with no luck.
I have a PLSQL database package that generates an organisation chart of users. It works fine but I am struggling to retrieve the users photo.
I have tried linking to the jpg files in my /oiddas/ui/oracle/ldap/das/Images/users/ folder but these files do not always exist so this is unreliable. These files only appear to be created if a user has previously viewed their profile in Self Service Console. Even if the files exist they are often out of date and don't reflect the photo held in OID.
I know the photo is stored in the jpegphoto attribute and I have been using DBMS_LDAP calls to retrieve other user details but I just can not find a definitive answer to how I send this image to the browser.
If anyone has any ideas, sample code or web links it would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

The idea would be to get the attribute value from OID using DBMS_LDAP or Java (whatever is easyer for you) and dump it in a file. Then generate the URL to the file.
When you initiate the LDAP connection to get the picture, remember to specify jpegphoto as a binary attribute.

  • Why does the User Photo Keep Changing

I maintain two (2) users on my iMac. One personal and one business. I have separate Address Book cards for each user with different photos. For my business Address Book card, I only have my business name, phone number and  address. For the personal Address Book card, I have all my email addresses, phone numbers and addresses, including both my business address and phone number.
Since I've updated to Mac OS X 10.7.2, I noticed my user photo for my business user continues to default back to the photo used for my personal Address Book card. I've changed the photos for the business user and for the business Address Book card several times but it continues to default to the photo used in my personal Address Book card.
And just one more thing, how do I remove the Recent Pictures for a user?
    Thanks!

Definitely an iCloud issue, I had this problem too but the Address Book fix mentioned elsewhere didn't work.
In the end, I was updating some contacts on my iPhone whilst my Mac was booted into Windows (so only one device active on iCloud) and noticed the rogue bad image was in my own contact on there too, so I set a random photo as my pic in my phone's Contacts and next time I rebooted OSX, lo and behold there it is on my login screen. So I guess every time it was coming back, it was picking it up from iCloud. Bizarre.
Going by that, I would expect the answer would be log everything out except one device (in my case, an iPhone), update that one, log the rest back in and hopefully it'll pick up the new image from the cloud.
Here's to hoping I'm not now stuck as an accidental screenshot of some random text message

  • AD stored user Photos do not display in Lync for Mac 2011

I'm using Lync for Mac 2011 14.0.9 and the my user photo as well as the photos of other users who are using photos stored in our AD do not display.  This behaviour has been occurring at least since 14.0.5.  The behaviour occurs regardless of whether
I sign in using Kerberos or name / Password.  This behaviour is common for all our Mac lync users. The only photos that display are ones from windows lync users that have chosen to use a photo that is stored on the internet somewhere.
The Lync for Mac 2011 client is running against Lync Server 2010 and Exchange 2010 servers.
I also have the common problem that I cannot search the global address book for lync users.  Maybe this is related but none of the reports I've seen about the address book search have mentioned anything about photos not displaying.
Anyone Experience similar issues or know where I could start to find the problem with the contacts display?  It used to work correctly way back in 14.0.2 and subsequently an update around 14.0.5 killed the features for me.
Oh and the Mac is running OSX 10.9 but the issues also occurred in OSX 10.8
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Did you choose “Show a picture from a web address” on Windows Lync 2010 client? If yes, on Windows Lync 2010 client, choose “Default corporate picture” instead of “Show a picture from a web address”. Then open Lync 2011 on Mac computer to test the issue.
The choose will sync to all Lync clients for the same Lync account.

  • Mass upload of user photos in EP

    Hi All,
I have to do a mass upload of user photos in EP. I tried it in two ways.
    1.     In a network folder say
173.XX.XX.XXUserPhotos, I stored the photos and then I used the Mass photo upload iview, which is available inside collaboration demo role.
    2.     I created a new task and given the below parameters,
    1.     Task nameà MyPhotUpload
    2.     Upload from folder à
    173.XX.XX.XXUserPhotos
    3.     Photo Typeà NORMAL
I clicked on save and then I run the task. I didnu2019t got any errors, at the same time I didnu2019t got any output also.
Then I tried it this way.
I created a nework path in System Administration à System Configuration à KM à CMà Global Services à Network Path (really sorry if I am being stupid)
Here I specified the network path and the login credential required to access this folder and named this network path as u201CMyNetWrkPathu201D
Now, I came back to mass upload ivew, there I deleted the old task and created a new task with
    a.     Task Name à MyPhotoUpload2
    b.     Upload from folder à MyNetWrkPath
    c.     Photo Typeà NORMAL
I clicked on Save and then I run the task. Again the same result. No errors no success.
PS: I already specified the photo type check and photo size check in System Administration à System Configuration à KM à CMà Global Services àUserPhoto
    Somebody please help me.

    Hi,
it seems the portal doesn't have permissions to read contents from this physical folder.
Try to import a sample photo with "apply checked conditions" unchecked in mass upload iView.
If that doesn't help then try to increase the trace level to INFO for this app in Visual Administrator and see what is causing
    the problems.
    The location is com.sap.netweaver.kmc.people.photo.admin .
Eventuallly try to import files from local folder instead of network share.
    Hope this helps.

  • User Photo physical location in Who Is Who iView

    Hi ,
Could you please let me know where will be the user photo physical location after uploading with Who Is Who iView.
    Thanks

    Hi,
from UserPhotoService class I can see method getPhoto, where:
    public InputStream getPhoto(String uniqueID, String type)  {
    IUser user = getReadOnlyUser(uniqueID);
    byte photo[] = user.getBinaryAttribute("com.sap.ip.collaboration.ume", "photo" + type);
    return new ByteArrayInputStream(photo);
So I would assume, that the photo is uploaded into the UME.

  • User Photo Administration (mass upload) iview doesn't run

    Hello,
I'm trying to mass upload lots of pictures about employees to show on CLP the photo detail. I've been searching for a long time the right way to do it through the standard User Photo Administration (mass upload) iview but not success for me.
I've checked this message really similar to mine but not solve my problem:
    https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1063236&tstart=0
The iview properties are set to run as explain:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/09/d7fe40be6eef23e10000000a155106/content.htm
    This is my scenario:
    EP7 sp15
i've got a folder on my filesystem (c:\photos). In this folder i have two files
    a) mapping.properties.txt
    inside filled with:
    emp10110=10110
    USER.CORP_LDAP.emp10110=10110
    b) 10010.JPG
After starting the task the photo was not updated and there was nothing in the application log!?
What could be the problem? I can add the file manually but not through mass upload iview.
Has anybody used the User Photo Administration (mass upload) iview ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Instead of use User Photo Administration (Mass upload) using a mapping.properties file, forget it and use a easy DOS script (lots of examples on google) to rename all files on your folder with the user ID of employees. Then you'll get a folder with the employees pictures with ID user as name file.
If  your pictures are set like Required Picture Settings on your system(size,dimensions,...) , now you will upload files without problems directly.

  • Help changing my user photo

im trying to change my user photo when i log into my MacBook air. I tagged faces into everyone one of my photos, but when I go to change my photo none of the pictures will show up under faces. It just says that I can go tag faces into my photos? Any help figuring out why they won't show up or how I can change my photo?

    Hi Carissalong98,
Happy Holidays!  Is the photo you want to use for your User account on your MacBook in iPhoto or Aperture?  One thing you can try is to drag the photo to your desktop and then drag it from the Finder application to your account settings.  The article below explains to add a picture to your User settings.
OS X Yosemite: Add a user picture
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18896
Your user picture appears next to your name in the login window, and is used by apps such as Mail, Messages, and Contacts. You can choose your own picture.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
Click the lock icon  to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.
Select your user, then click the picture.
    Do one of the following:
Use an existing picture: Click a category, then select a picture.
Defaults: Pictures that are included with OS X.
Recents: Pictures that were recently used as user pictures.
My Photo Stream: Pictures from your iPhoto photo stream.
    Faces: Faces recognized in iPhoto.
    Linked: Picture from Contacts.
You can also drag and drop an image file from the Finder onto the user picture.
    Click Done.
    Cheers,
    Judy

  • Clicking on user photo does not log in or display password window

I have a 1-week old MacBook Air w Lion OS which was set up at the Apple Store so I could log on without a password. Doing so brought me immediately to my Desktop.  After installing MS Office via download, at the next boot up I got a grey screen with options to log on as me (my photo) or guest.  I was able to log on by using my Apple password but then Keychain started asking for a password for every app.  I was able to blow by those prompts by sometimes entering a password and sometimes just pressing Enter. Tried to change settings back so I would not need password.  Can't remember what I changed but now when I click on my user photo at the logon screen nothing happens.  Tried booting to Recovery and ran Repair Disk Permissions.  No luck. I am new to Apple and don't know what to try next.  Can you help me?

Apple support is wonderful!  The fix took a while but I was able to boot up with Shift key and make changes as directed that restored my auto logon.  Downloading Lion update now which is supposed to fix the Keychain problem.  If anyone else has this problem - here is the Case # for reference -

    Hi Sudan,
Did this happen to all users PC clients?
You can try creating a new following register key with value 30000000 on your client PC, then restart the WebClients service and check results again, please see the following similar article about opening library with large documents in explorer view.

  • Getting User Photo

I apologize if this is a stupid question or if it is repeated. When I first turned on my macbook, I took a photo for my user photo and for my ichat icon. Does anyone know where I can get this photo off my hard drive? I want to send this exact photo to somebody. Thanks in advance

Nevermind. I got it. I just dragged it to my desktop from address book. Thanks anyway.

  • User photo gone on log on

I just downloaded Yosemite from the App Store the other day, and now when I boot up and get to log-on screen I see (what should be) me and Guest, but instead of my photo there is a frontal profile of a head with a question mark in it and "[update needed]" instead of my name.  My log on password still works fine, and when I go to System Preferences/Users and Groups, my photo is still there with my name as Admin, so there's nothing to update.  It's not really a problem, just annoying.  Does anyone know how to correct this?

It appears simply resetting your user password solves the issue of the disappearing user photo.
However, I am still having an issue when logging in and Yosemite seeming to install or load something each time I log in. The issue appears in the video in my previous post (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkngAu7QCls)
