i am able to get the end date value from oim but when i am setting it using api it through exception but all other attribute i am able to update in process form.
i am facing the problem only with end date field because of different date format in OIM and AD .
so please suggest me what are date format in Active Directory and how can i change the oim date format to Active directory time format in in my java code.Thanks for the reply.
But all iplanet users need not contain end date attribute, and its an update on existing user.

Replicating the app functionality from OIM 10g to OIM 11gR2
Hi,
I have a resource object with an object form and a process form and approval, provisioning configured in OIM 10g design console. Provisioning is manual provisioning assigned to a particular group based on a task assignment adapter. For replicating the same in OIM 11gR2 i followed the following steps.
1. Created a Resource object in Design console.
2. Created a dummy IT Resource ( Since while creating app instance it is having IT Resource as Mandatory field. * Is there any way to skip this as i do not have any IT resource in my original app as it is going for manual provisioning?)*
3. Created a process form in Design Console with the same fields as present in my 10g app process form.
4. Now i need to Create an app instance and select the created resource object and IT resoource. Also i need to create a form associated with the app instance in which i will add the fields as present in the object form in my 10g app. ( Here i am not understanding how data will flow from object form to process form since there is no data flow mapping here)
5. Other steps like creating the SOA composite with human tasks and deploying it and after that creating approval policies is pretty much clear.
Please clarify whether the steps are correct and also the queries which i have posted in between. Thanks in advance.

Wll disconnected resource trigger our custom approval process if we select the resource name properly in scope in operational level approval policy. Have you tried a disconnected resource with your custom approval process. Because i read the following lines in admin guide
Oracle Identity Manager supports provisioning of disconnected resources by using the SOA worklist for manual provisioning of disconnected resources. After the role-based provisioning decision or SOA request approval is complete and the corresponding application instance is determined to be a disconnected application instance, a new SOA workflow is started. This new SOA workflow is assigned to the manual provisioning administrator.
So i thought disconnected app instance will have its own approval process configured during the creation and it will route accordingly. So just wanted to clarify how to make disconnected app instance to trigger our approval. will approval policay take care of it as i am going to select the name of the disconnected app in the scope field. -
Provisioning a user in MSAD from OIM

I am trying to provision a user from OIM to MSAD through direct provisioning. After performing the steps for provisioning, i get the status of create user as rejected and the task is asssigned to xelsysadm for approval though it is direct povisioning.

Lookup Search Filter: (|(objectclass=OrganizationalUnit)(objectclass=container))
Search Base: DC=<domain_name2>,DC=<domain_name1>,DC=com
Recon Type: Update

But still theres no value for Organisation Lookup in process form for provisioning the user. what could be the cause for the same?
Also i was testing if the connector is installed properly by using the testing utility. i used the following command to run it : . runADtest.sh 2

Provisioned user in exchange from OIM created as Mail Enabled User
Hi,
I have provisioned a user from OIM to exchange and the user is created as MAIL ENABLED RECEPIENT in the exchange instead of MAIL BOX ENABLED RECEPIENT .The difference between both is like the MAIL BOX ENABLED user will be having a seperate button(MAILBOX RIGHTS) in the exchange advanced tab and also he has exchange features tab.
Is there any field in OIM which differentiates both MAIL ENABLED and MAIL BOX Enabled user.
When i see the tabs of the MAIL ENABLED USER in the exchange i'm able to see just alias fields in one of the tabs but the MAIL BOX ENABLED user is having even the mail store field.
When i googled for the difference between MAIL BOX enabled and MAIL Enabled i could see like the user created directly with exchange is getting MAIL BOX enabled and any third party user or different domain user wont get this MAIL BOX enabled instead he will be MAIL ENABLED
I want the user to be MAIL BOX enabled when he is provisioned from OIM.

How to delete Users or Organinzations from oim
Hi,
I have deleted some users as well as organizations in OIM, and I got the message that they are successfully deleted.
But when I try to reconile the same user from csv file using GTC connector or create the deleted organization from OIM I am getting the Error that user already exists and Organization cannot be created
Do we have a way to completely delete the users or organizations
Please help meThis may be due to user logins are same for deleted user and newly coming user. Go to system properties and reuse use login property to true and retry reconciliation.
Else
You can remove from database but it'll be tedious as you would need to delete all reference as well.

The class file its complaining about AddUserxRolePars exists in FoxTWS.jar (generated from wsimport) in ThirdParty, ext and JavaTasks directory on the server and still it complains for the same.
I tried running the same class from the command prompt on the same server and it's working fine. Thinking this could be classpath issue, I tried updating the classpath (System.setProperty("java.class.path","<jar file path>+<existing classpath>")) from with in the adapter class file and it still does not help.
Any thoughts on how to resolve this ??

UDF Export from OIM 11g R1 and Import into R2
Has anyone ever exported user defined fields from OIM 11gR1 and successfully imported them into OIM 11gR2?
I have tried exporting the user metadata via deployment manager in R1 and importing into a sandbox in R2 and the import fails with the following exception in the log:

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.There are multiple ways to do this. ODI, Essbase Studio or SQL interface in load rules are three. ODI is not free, but the other two I mention are. There are a few developers I know that prefer flat files as it is easier to trace back issues, but most o us use a SQL approach. Both Essbase Studio and Sql Interface can use either PDBC or OCI connections. Of course OCI connections are faster.
While neither Studio or load rules has a scheduler associated with it, you can use the windows/cron/custom scheduler of your choice to schedule the process to run. Note that neither will run stored procedures/packages but just read from tables/views.
The batch interface you would use is called MaxL and it interfaces with ODI, Studio and Load rules (Sql interface) -

I did have a problem when I did delete user from OIM, this user didn't get deleted from OID. I solved this by adding this to the undo task for Create User in OID User PD. However, one additional problem remains - users group memberships doesn't get removed when user is deleted from OIM. From the log file I can see:

I think the problem is with pSearchBase -field values. Groups are not located in that LDAP-path and that's why it's returning USER_DOESNOT_EXIST. How I can tell to OIM where to look?

Here's what I do:
select SI_NAME, SI_USERGROUPS from CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS where SI_NAME = 'xyz' and SI_PROGID = 'CrystalEnterprise.User'
This will bring back the group ID's that user xyz is a member of. The groups are in a nested property of SI_USERGROUPS, which I don't think you can query directly. Once you have the ID's, however, you can run another query to find out what the group names are. Say the first query brought back three results, 123, 456 and 789. Then you'd run:
select SI_NAME from CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS where SI_ID = '123' or SI_ID = '456' or SI_ID = '789'
Perhaps you could write some logic to parse the group ID's out of the first query and put them into the second query's where clause.

Now i wants it to automate. For example if i create a user in OIM in abc org, then it should automatically provision to AD in the abc org.
To achive this i did the below steps
1. Create a rule abcRule in Rule designer - organization name=abc
2. Create a org name abc in the OIM and AD.
3. Create a Role in OIM abcUserRole assign the Rule abcRule to this Role
4. Create a access policy abcPolicy
assign the AD user to this policy
Now create a user in OIM, user is created in OIM and a member of abcUserRole, user is not provision to AD. Geeting the error

While doing upgrade from OIM 10g to OIM 11g, I am not able to upgrade OIM Middletier.
Steps performed till now
1. Run OSI Upgrade Utility in OIM 10g.
2. Export OIM 10g DB Schema from Oracle database version 10.2.0.2.
3. Run prepare_xl_db.sh and import the OIM 10g Schema to Oracle Database 11.2
4. Run RCU to create schemas for MDS and SOA in Oracle database 11.2
5. Install WLS 10.3.5, SOA 11.1.1.5 and IAM 11.1.1.5
6. Upgrade OIM Schema using Upgrade Assistant Utility
7. Create WLS Domain for OIM and SOA
8. Configure OIM(copied .xldatabasekey to config/fmwconfig folder)
9. Upgrade OIM Middle Tier using Upgrade Assistant Utility
Upgrade Assistant is failing at step 9 when it is trying to initilize scheduler properties.
In logs, it says invalid username and password but I am sure I entered correct password for all schemas.

i noticed that for any user i create on OIM objectGUID is 0 , i can read groups and organizations from LDAP with no errors
please supportThis issue is coming because your object guid is not getting synchronized properly. Login to design console and open AD User form. Go to pre-populate tab. Open prepop adapter for User Principal name. Here bydefault IT resource name passed is Active Directory whereas you should have your IT server name which I think bydefault is AD Server. In the Mapto section select Process data and qualifier field will have AD server. Click on save button. Save your form.
Retry your test case now. This will resolve your problem.

I am trying to setup provisionig from OIM to AD. I just want to provision Users from OIM to AD.

But i can't get to populate the Organization Name on the user form, because there are no values available.
