User Query on date
Hi,
I have a query from user saying:
Running a labor report and need to know why the dates start each week on a Thursday?
There are multiple reports on labor and all the reports are based on either of 2 multi providers. Both MultiProviders have 2 date fields(Document date and Posting date) coming from the same set of Cubes.
I checked the Multi provider's data and the data isn't restricted to Thrusday.
Can someone pls help how to go ahead with this?

Hi,
First off, I would try to find out which date is the user is talking about and what is the corresponding InfoObject in the MultiProvider. If you can get that info and check that IOBJ data in the MP, it should give you an idea.
Second, is the InfoObject 0WEEKDAY used anywhere in the query or in the filters?

User Prompt for Date Range in Bex Query Analyzer
I have a workbook that has two queries. The queries both require the user to enter a date range upon refresh. I want the user to be able to hit refresh, enter the date input into the dialog box and then both queries to use this date range for their input. I have seen this in other book, but when I click refresh on my book it only runs the first query. How do I get the second query to use the first queries input?
use the same variable in both the queries. this will let the user enter the date in a single variable and this will refresh both the queries.

Introduction
There is a scenario that the data in the report changes infrequently, so the users want to be informed and get the most updated data once the data changes. By default, report server always run the report with the most recent data. Is there a way that we
can subscribe the report, so that we can send an email to users when the data in the report has been changed?
Solution
To achieve this requirement, we can create a subscription for the report, then create a trigger in the table which including the report data. When this table has data insert, update or delete, it will be triggered and execute the subscription to send email
to users.
In the Report Manager, create a subscription for the report and make it only execute one time.
When we create a subscription, a corresponding SQL Agent job will be created. Then we can use the query below to find out the job based on ScheduleId:

the Steps, copy the step command, and then paste it to the query.
Then when the user table has data insert, update or delete, the trigger will be triggered and execute the subscription to send email to users.

Try it. Create a short demo program. All you need is a JFrame with a single button to show the modal dialog. All you modal dialog needs is a single button to close the dialog. After you show the modal dialog add a System.out.println(...) statement in your code and you will see that it is not executed until the dialog is closed.
Then once you understand the basics you add the code to your real program.

An error occurred querying a data source - with REST services
Hi,
I have a SharePoint 2013 form library library with an info-path form. I need to get the logged in user's 'Display Name' on my form load automatically.
I used REST service to fetch the current user details. In the preview mode of the form, its showing the right name. But when I publish this form to library I am getting the following error.

According to your post, my understanding is that an error occurred querying a data source with REST services.
It is defiantly permission issue with GetUserProfileByName service
and could be many reasons of this problem. You first try with UDCX file and make sure that UPS is running.

So I know its a permission issue because full control users have no problem. I have found a suggestion here suggesting making sure the group has "Who can View Membership to the Group" but that didn't work for me - and
my test user is only a member of one group -

OIM 11g - User Not enabled After the job "enable user after start date"
Hi,
I have a future hired user in OIM whose start date is set in OIM. The status of the user in OIM is 'Disabled Until Start Date'.
After the start date has passed and the scheduled job 'enable user after start date' is run, I see that the user is still in the status 'Disabled Until Start Date'. I re-run the scheduled job 'enable user after start date', this time manually, still the state of the user remains unchanged.
Please help in troubleshooting as to find out the root cause of the issue and a workaround/solution, if possible.
This issue is intermittent and has happened with quite a number of user. Any pointer would be helpful.

One alternative approach can be to write your own custom scheduler which can overcome the limitation of OOTB scheduled job 'enable user after start date'. Let the OOTB job get executed first. After it, your custom scheduler should fire a simple SQL Query:
SELECT USR_KEY, USR_STATUS FROM USR WHERE (USR_START_DATE > SYSDATE -1) AND USR_STATUS='Disabled Until Start Date';
//Means those users who are supposed to get enabled today and are still not yet enabled and are in 'Disabled Until Start Date'. May be 2-3 user keys at max will come...
As you said it happens only intermittently and not for all users... So, let the OOTB scheduled job take care of most of such users... And after it has finished, if any user still remains in 'Disabled Until Start Date', your custom scheduler should enable it via using tcUserOperationsIntf.enableUser(userKey);
Using API is always better than database update... Because APIs trigger downstream provisioning workflows as well and not just updates OIM Database...
Keeping your constraints in mind, I think it is the correct answer. -

The row is successfully inserted as witnessed by the results of row counting. However, I cannot extract data from the table. First, I tried using SqlPlus* which hangs up and quits after a while. I then tried to use SQL Developer, but haven't got any result. Here follow some examples of queries and their results in SQL Developer:

now I tried to fully respect the nested structure of description element in order to extract the text portion of <bold> using this query

and also tried to extract the text portion of element <text> using this query

On the other hand, I noticed, from the result of query 1, that the opening tags of elements keyword and bold are encoded as the less than operator "<". This explains why query 3 returns NULL. However, query 4 should display the text content of <text>, which is not the case.
My questions are about
1. How to properly insert the XML data while preserving the tags (especially the opening tag).
2. How to display the data (the text portion of the main Element or of the nested elements).
The problem about question 1 is that it is quite unfeasible to write a unique insert statement because the structure of <description> is recursive. In other words, if the structure of <description> was not recursive, it would be possible to embed the elements using the xmlelement function during the insertion.
In fact, I need to insert the content of <description> from a source table (called category_a) into a target table (+category_b+) automatically .
I filled category_a using the Saxloader utility from an flat XML file that I have generated from a benchmark. The content of <description> is different from one row to another but it is always valid with regards to the XML Schema. The data is properly inserted as witnessed by the "select * from category_a" instruction (500 row inserted). Besides, the opening tags of the nested elements under <description> are preserved (no "<"). Then I wrote a PL/SQL procedure in which a cursor extracts the category id and category name into varchar2 variables and description into an XMLtype variable from category_a. When I try to insert the values into a category_b, I get the follwing error:
LSX-00213: only 0 occurrences of particle "text", minimum is 1which tells that the <text> element is absent (actually it is present in the source table).
So, my third question is why are not the tags recognized during the insertion?

indded, I was using an old version of Sqlplus* (8.0.60.0.0) because I had a previous installation (oracle 10g XE). Instead, I used the Sqlplus* shipped with the 11g2database (version 11.2.0.1.0). All the queries that I wrote work fine and display the data correctly.
I also used the XMLSERIALIZE function and can now display the description content in SQL Developer.

Query with date variable selection

I am having problems with a SQL Query and wondering if someone could help me out. Viewlink between Custom VO "Cannot set user query to view"
We have an application where we have extended custom VO and EO’s to get data from flat files. It all looks fine till we create a viewlink for a LOV with two related VO’s. The viewlink VO fails we get message of the form -Cannot set user query to view "CustomVO1" because it is a destination in a view link”. Are there any methods to override in the custom VO/EO or any parameter to be added to configs. Has someone tried this out

When I run the query as a user, the time dependent MD display attributes look fine. However, when I use the query in an APD, I get no values for the time dependent display attributes.
Any suggestions?

Querying a date field with different masks in form and database
Dear friends,
I have a field with date format mask dd/mm/yyyy hh24:mi:ss, but the same field has date format dd/mm/yyyy inside the form which queries it.
If I run this form, obviously I will query this date in dd/mm/yyyy format mask, but this date is not being found because it doesn't include hh24:mi:ss (hour) from the database field.
How can I solve this problem? I tried to change my form, putting a format mask with hours, but it requires me to query this date with time, and obviously no one needs to know the exact moment (with seconds!) when the date was recorded in the database.

You could instruct your users to use the '%' when they enter a date search criteria. Another alternative would be to programatically add the '%' to the date. Also, if your Block based on a view you could alter the vuew to use TRUNC() on the date field to drop the time.
Another option would be to use the Pre-Query trigger to modify the Block WHERE clause to: TRUNC(date_field) = :block.date_field.
