Username and DB name values-Interactive Reporting

All, We are using the Interactive reporting webclient. We have a requirement to display the user logged in the report and the DB connected to the report (OCE connection name). I am not able to find any method or property for the same. Your Suggestions are appreciated. Regards R.Prasanna

some time ago, I needed to use table ORASSO.WWSSO_PSEX_USER_INFO$ too...
Are you trying to get "User Name" selecting fval6 from wwsso_psex_user_info$?
as I remember "User Name" was stored in field APP_USERNAME, but it was encrypted.
To dencrypt it, we used orasso.wwsso_api_private.decrypt_string(app_username)
Don't know how it is now, and if it's still possible to to get "User Name" in such way....

Brio is the name of IR
Brio was bought by hyperion and named it as intially to Hyp Intelligence
then in System 9 they renamed to Interactive Reporting(IR)
To install IR you need to download Reporting and Analysis BI Services and UI services and configure them.

I would like to know if someone used the mentioned functionality 'Define Logical Systems and Template Names for BW Reports, I would like to know too IF I create a Z REPORT for example in webdynpro and insert it in this configuration it will work and where it will appear in sourcing cockpit?

Hello Muthu,
BW reports will be shown in SRM Box if the corresponding BW roles for SRM are integrated with SRM roles.
You might to activate the corresponding datasource of this in SRM.
And since you have to connect the source system to BW, I think you have to define SRM system as logical system in BW.

figure out the rules and restrictions for those names, and it shouldn't be too hard to come up with a regular expression to describe those rules.
Most likely it involves nothing more than checking for the length of the name and the existence of a small set of disallowed characters.

The system property "user.name" gets you the user. TrySystem.getProperties().store(System.out, "");to list all system properties, you might find the one that means "domain" to you.

Hide username and password while calling Oracle reports from forms11g

Dynamic Column Name on Interactive Report

Hi all,
Is it possible to assign a SQL result to a Column name on an interactive report?
I have been able to do this on a standard SQL Report though the use of page items but have not had much luck with interactive reports.

could you please explain step 4 a bit more?
as with the standard report, i just created an item with SQL query with a corresponding computation with same SQL query and that works great.
i tried the same method with interactive and it did not work.
in step 4 it mentions creating a process to populate the items.
how is this done?

Prompting for UserName and Password when I click Report Server Web Service URLs in ssrs 2008 R2

Hi All,
I am using SQL Server Reporting services 2008 R2 . When I tried to open report server webservice URL in SSRS 2008 R2 It is prompting username and password. I tried to resolve the issue by deleting the  line in rsreportserver.config but still I am getting the same prompt

I am getting the same error.

Hi Dathy,
Generally, this is a very common issue in Reporting Services 2008 R2, the blog you post is a good blog that summary the common solutions. If it doesn’t help, could you please try the following:
Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools and click on Internet Options.
Under the Security tab, click on Trusted sites and click the Sites button and Add Report Manager/Report Server URL to the trusted sites.
Then click Custom Level, and check the option Automatic logon with current user name and password.
Repeat step 3 and step 4 for Local Intranet.

Retrieving sort and filter criteria for interactive report

I have developed a test management system in APEX. Users log in and see an interactive report with their assignments. Each test they've been assigned occupies one row.
There is an "Execute" link for each row that takes the user to the test execution page, where they can see the input steps / expected results and report the test passing or failing.
I've implemented "Next >" and "< Previous" buttons on the execution page, so the user can immediately go forwards or backwards in his assigned tests without having to return to the assignments page and click the Execute link on the next or previous row.
The test execution page figures out what the next and previous assigned test is using the LAG and LEAD functions, like this:

lead(assignment_id) over (order by ref_num_full) next_id
Notice that I've "hardcoded" the over clause to be the reference number of the test.
The problem here - this solution ignores any custom sorts or filters the user has put in place on the assignments (interactive) report.
Is there a way I can "grab" the interactive report (1) sort criteria and (2) filter criteria dynamically? I'm thinking I could then use dynamic SQL to build an OVER clause used in the lag/lead calls so that the application now follows whatever sort and/or filter criteria the user has put in place.

- I can get the sort criteria from the APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_RPT view (SORT_COLUMN_# and SORT_DIRECTION_# columns)
- I can get the filter criteria from the APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_COND view

Displaying current user's first and last name on a report.

I would like to dispay the current user's name on a report. I've tried using User() and NQ_SESSION current user .
These two options display the User ID (i.e. User name is Jon Smith. there ID is COMP/JSMITH.
Using the two methods above the ID (COMP/JSMITH) is displayed. Is there a way I could display Jon Smith?
I thought their might be a way to use Full Name or First and Last Name.

Each BOE document has a unique ID. Knowing that will allow you to access it via a URL while passing required login credentials as well, if I recall correctly. However, your very best bet is to review the SDK.
