Users Data/Temp directory Location ?

Hello,
I would like to know that what will be the data/temp directory path for users. like in Windows we have Users/Application data...
And how to get these property programatically.
I am creating a application which need to configure independently for users. i.e. users credentials will be differ on same machine.
So please let me know how can I do that ?
Thanks

  • BI Data Temp Directory - safe to purge?

    Hi,
We are facing a disk space issue with our BIDATA/tmp directory. It is about 16gb in size and files keep getting created there. I am wondering if it's safe to purge this directory, or will there be any problems? Is it a good idea to set up a cron job and purge nightly?
Our environment is OBIEE 10.1.3.3.3 and Red Hat EL

  • How to save file in users temp directory in java

How to save file in users temp directory as "<Drive Name>:\Documents and Settings\<User Name\Local Settings\Temp".

Shouldn't the System property "user.home" reference to that directory on windows? So if you call System.getProperty("user.home");, I think it should return that path at least up to <User Name>. I never really tried it on Windows though.

  • Sync of user data with Active Directory

I would like to connect the Active Directory with our SAP 4.6C system. Goal is to synchronize the user data (address, company, department,...) of AD with SAP user data, so we would only have to maintain this kind of data in the AD.
Can anyone give me some hints on how that can be done? (LDAP connector? SAP connect?) I did find a lot of information on connecting SAP to Exchange in order to send mails via SAP, but that is not what I am looking for.

  • Redirection of deployment.user.cachedir to Windows Temp-directory

    Hello,
I have a problem with the configuration of the cache-directory on a Windows Terminal-Server.
On a Windows Terminal-Server each registered user gets a Windows temp-directory, which can be seen in variable %TEMP% and looks like "D:\temp\1" or "D:\temp\2" and so on.
Now I want to redirect the cache-directory, set in file deployment.properties, property deployment.user.cachedir, to that temp-directory for the user.
How can I configure JavaWS correctly ?
Please help !! Thanks in advance
    Achim

Thank you for your response. I am using jdk1.3.1 and
jre 1.4.2_01 which I just downloaded the other day.
The properties did indeed list out in the console, but
I will check a previous jre to see if they are there
as well. I agree that if the property is available,
then it should return the value.5. What system properties can be read by applets, and how?
In both Java-enabled browsers and the appletviewer, applets can read these system properties by invoking System.getProperty(String key):
    key               meaning
    java.version          Java version number
    java.vendor          Java vendor-specific string
    java.vendor.url     Java vendor URL
    java.class.version     Java class version number
    os.name          Operating system name
    os.arch          Operating system architecture
    os.version     Operating system version
    file.separator     File separator (eg, "/")
    path.separator     Path separator (eg, ":")
    line.separator     Line separator
Applets are prevented from reading these system properties:
    key               meaning
    java.home          Java installation directory
    java.class.path     Java classpath
    user.name          User account name
    user.home          User home directory
    user.dir          User's current working directory
To read a system property from within an applet, simply invoke System.getProperty(key) on the property you are interested in.

  • I Lost Power to my PC while in Acrobat Reader and lost data, where is temp file located?

I lost power to my pc while typing a new acrobat reader file but never saved it, where is the default temp file located, if this exists? Thanks.

The answer to your question depends upon your version of Reader and your OS. Especially since the last version of Acrobat Reader was version 5 which is four majors versions ago. The last four versions have been called Adobe Reader, not Acrobat Reader. This the forum for the Acrobat commericial product, not the free reader product.
PDF files cannot be edited in Reader and fields filled in with Reader cannot be saved (unless especially enabled) canot be re-opened from the temp files. To make a long story short. You will need to re-type the information.

    First of all read documentation
    Oracle Export/Import : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/exp_imp.htm
    Datapump Export/Import : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/dp_overview.htm
If you are using Datapump or Traditional Export/import you need to follow following steps
*1) Take User dump via EXPDP on Computer A .*
    For EXP
    exp username/password owner=Test file=D:\test.dmp log=D:\test.log
    For EXPDP
    expdp username/password schemas=TEST directory=TEST_DIR dumpfile=TEST.dmp logfile=TEST.log*2) Copy that to Computer B*
    *3) Import dumpfile.*
    For IMPDP  Use remap_schema optionhttp://www.acehints.com/2012/05/data-pump-impdp-remapschema-parameter.html
For IMP use fromuser and touser option
one user to another user imp

Thanks, takeing my image's from the SP0 folder and temporarily placing them on the desktop, while I removed, AFP,NFS and NETBOOT from the services, stopping the admin, restarting the admin, re-enabling the services, and then coping the images back to the SP0 folder made them visible.
Now I have more issues and questions. I enabled both images, 1 a install, the other a boot, and no default, however, when I boot with the N key, it doesnt ask anything, and just goes to the netboot image. When I un-enable the netboot, and force it to the netinstall, the client machine just turns off (this is the same machine that I had the image source built on, makes no sense to me).
And back to my open directory, none of the office workstations that have been bound (they all say network services availble on the logon box) can logon with any of the directory accounts, the only one that can logon is the Directory Admin account I created. DHCP is being served from the windows machines, but I know the OD server can be seen, how else could the DirAdmin log in, just not the users. I have read that It might be home directories not being found or something, but I assumed that the home directory got built on the client when the user logs in, thats the whole purpose, to have 1 place to build accounts and let the new user grab a workstation to log on.
I'll keep looking, but any more help on both topics would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Deleted Microsoft User Data for Entourage- please HELP!!

I believe I deleted my Microsoft User Data for Entourage. Is there a way for me to get it back? I thought I backed it all up to my MYBOOK, external hard drive, but apparently It only accepted some of the items in the folder! (and not the User Data one!)
Any way to reverse this or find it after the trash was emptied??
It has ALL of my emails, contacts, saved emails, etc
    PLEASE HELP
    I will be forever grateful!

    Basics of File Recovery
If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location. OS X also provides a short-cut to undo the last item moved to the Trash -press COMMAND-Z.
If you empty the Trash the files are gone. Recovery is possible but you must not allow any additional writes to the hard drive - shut it down. When you delete files you erase only the directory entries, not the files themselves. However, the space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage. Writing to the drive will then eventually overwrite the space once occupied by the deleted files in which case the files are lost permanently. Also if you save a file over an existing file of the same name, then the old file is overwritten and cannot be recovered.
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten with recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

  • The 2 year old fix for changing temp files is no longer valid, I need to change the temp file location in the latest firefox.

In 3.6.3 I'm unable to find the parent cache to change where the temp files are located. I have an SSD drive, and I need to get the temp file off, and onto my platter drive. I have read the previous fix of about:config and changing the parent cache location, but it no longer seems to be there. I'm unable to locate anything relating to my SSD drive location in about:config.
    == User Agent ==
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.70 Safari/533.4

Unfortunately, it appears that what I wrote about not being able to find the location IN about:config of the cache to change it from my C: drive to a different location, was mildly misunderstood that I didn't know how to get into about:config.
The location of browser.cache.disk.parent_directory does not currently exist in 3.6.3. I'm assuming it's under a different location. Also using the simple string of "cache" lists several options, but none of them appear to be where firefox is currently dumping the temp files onto my C:
I merely need to know how to switch the temp file location from 1 drive, to another. Not downloads, the temp file.
